I'm still here kyz another boring Saturday in the fruit household. Dp off out to watch the footie in a bit so me and S will need to entertain ourselves.

Brockle · 06/04/2013 13:17

I'm not scared Smile. still in pj's and intend to keep it that way!

I heartily recommend not clock watching when feeding in the middle of the night. it destroys the soul.

y sleeps in his clothes in his crib in the day so he associates sleeping bag with night.

Passmethecrisps · 06/04/2013 13:18

Everyone is obviously off having some fun! Fuckers!

ValiumQueen · 06/04/2013 13:21

I am not having fun. I am trying to find my dining room under the pile of shit that has been dumped in there. Off to catch up with thread...

ValiumQueen · 06/04/2013 13:31

bp great news! Picnic sounds lovely.

pass J sleeps in his clothes with a cellular blanket tucked in during the day. If he is in something bulky, restrictive or scratchy then I put him in something comfy. 2.5 tog is really for cold nights and should have very little on underneath really. You can get 1 or 0.5 tog bags. I will be putting Js 0-6mth bags on FB this week at a bargainous price. There are pink ones too. I used to always put the girls in them in the day, but J prefers the blanket.

TryingtobelessChunkyChick · 06/04/2013 13:38

BPLP great news! Glad the phase has passed...

StuntNun · 06/04/2013 13:39

Pass J sleeps in his sleeping bag for naps and bedtime. He has to have a 2.5 tog sleeping bag and cellular blankets at night otherwise he wakes up freezing cold.

TryingtobelessChunkyChick · 06/04/2013 13:45

Oh pass A sleeps with a doubled-over cellular blanket in the day & a sleeping bag at night. He is, however, usually a v v easy sleeper. He self-settles in his cot during the day, or in the car seat or buggy. He sleeps wherever he is pretty much, as long as he's awake for only 2hrs at a time. Much longer & he struggles to self-settle. Perhaps try a thinner bag?

TryingtobelessChunkyChick · 06/04/2013 13:50

I'm not sure going to aldi & dunelm mill counts as having a life but I felt good - it was done w/out dc!! I got SO much done. DH stayed home with them, I pumped before I left (7.5oz and he only took 4oz!!) and actually managed to buy curtain fabric for DS's room, as well as bargain hunting in aldi.

The house is, of course, a tip DH did surprise me by putting a load of washing on tbf but I can worry about that later!!

StuntNun · 06/04/2013 14:18

Full on breast refusal here. He hasn't had a feed since 3 a.m. but stick a bottle near his mouth and he attacks it like a starving thing. Confused

TheDetective · 06/04/2013 14:23

Thanks for the ideas!

Well, I'm not so sure about the GF method of putting less powder in, I don't want to cause problems with the reflux, esp with him having Gaviscon, and we can't have a feed without or we have days of vomiting to follow.

Re: mornings, DP will get up with him at 6 because he can't be arsed putting him back to sleep, but I have noted that this makes him worse. He definitely needs to feed at both 2ish and 6ish, and then will go back to a light sleep til 7-8, if he gets up earlier, he then goes to bed even later the next night, and we have a shitty old day.

I'm a bit Confused as to the right option. He wasn't in much of a routine, but seems to have put himself in to one. Most days he feeds 10-2-6-bed (whether that is 7.30 or 9.30)-2-6. He does vary on this, but generally that's it.

I'm ok with the 2am one, as I find it much easier getting up the less time I've been asleep possibly why I had terrible insomnia after he was born. The 6am one kills me! Generally DP has been doing that one. By then I just feel ill generally!

Well, I now have £50 worth of cheese to bring home. Nom fucking nom. On the other hand. I am ready to strangle a certain annoying woman. Get over it. Babies make noise.

TheDetective · 06/04/2013 14:24

Oh bugger. Think my dad just saw my last comment. Blush

Izzybuzzybuzzybees · 06/04/2013 14:27

Oh no stunt that doesn't sound good :(

pass J sleeps in bag at night and during day he only sleeps on me or in car seat so just what he's wearing. I have no hope of him napping properly.

Better night was had. Only two night feeds and two hand holdy wakeups.

He had last feed nearly 5 hours ago tho which is annoying. We planned to go to the Fort as my expensive changing bag has broken and that's nearest mamas and papas for swapping it! No point going until he's fed tho!

StuntNun · 06/04/2013 14:44

I'm expressing while DH gives J a bottle of EBM. The milk is pouring out. Confused He seemed to be starving so I thought it was better to get him fed. We're about to go swimming so he may want at least a comfort nurse when we get out of the pool. I'll see how things are for the rest of the day but I expect he'll feed okay at night when a breastfeed is easier for him than a bottle (fingers crossed).

Clarella · 06/04/2013 15:29

oh dear stunt it's hard when they do that. lo has spent so long stimulating my supply he's struggling with the let down again though no where near as badly as pre tongue tie snip.

oh detective let me know when you find the answer! how to stop any of the 10,12,1:30,3,4,5 feeds would be appreciated! dh is determined to try to 'stretch it' tonight. however I'm sure it's g doing growth spurt stuff. we have nooooo trouble getting him back to sleep post feed so I don't have an issue.(he conks out) he used to do 3/4/5 hours between feeds and I'm sure will go back when he's ready...

it's ok - you can be honest!!!!!

my nct mates are of the opinion he needs it so just ride it out.

Clarella · 06/04/2013 15:32

Fred may get lots of rants tonight.

bil is here with 6 week old ff incredible sleeping baby. Hv said they can stop the 4 hourly night feeds. so a baby who effectively sleeps through.

dh is in with me. I've slept so much better just feeding g when he wakes and kipping in between, cosleeping from around 1 onwards. tonight's going to be interesting.

Clarella · 06/04/2013 15:50

fuck. it's started already. I'm seriously going to have to keep my mouth shut.

bil thumping nephews back for wind. we are world experts in winding the world's windiest baby including an upside down way too. bil stoically ignoring our suggestions. nephew grunting with wind. oh well.

MissMummy1 · 06/04/2013 15:54

DP and M bought me (clearly Hmm ) a new TV on their mission out. And a new boaty top Grin . He has also announced he is cooking lobster, scallops, mussells and langoustines that he caught for a special meal out in the garden tonight. There is an orange labelled bottle of champers in the fridge (1 cheeky glass can't hurt?) too! Feeling very spoiled Smile Smile Smile

Chasing how are things today?

I also do not clock watch at night. I have stopped mnetting too. Dont think because I am not here whinging the wee bugger is sleeping! She is up every few hours now but we are cosleeping Confused

Brockle · 06/04/2013 16:33

I think riding it out is right clarella, Y was feeding like that last week but is coming out the other end now. if its any consolation my ds2 slept twelve hours a night from six weeks and then stopped at six months and hasn't slept well since!

Y has rolled from his front to his back. he was laughing and grinning bless him Grin he is now exhausted by the effort and is asleep!

ValiumQueen · 06/04/2013 16:55

clarella you are right to ride it out. My two eldest slept through from 6 and 7 weeks, and they were both bf. some do, some don't.

PetiteRaleuse · 06/04/2013 16:56

Both girls slept brilliantly last night. I didn't. Woke at 1 and stayed awake til 6!
Then this morning went to get LO.S passport photos done. Bawled her way through them. Massive failure. Poor love is coughing her guts up and hardly eating. Still.
I slept a little this afternoon.
Crap day, we're all in a really bad mood.

ValiumQueen · 06/04/2013 17:06

Oh dear pr at least they slept though.

I have just had to tell the little fuckers on the street to not hit their fucking ball against my fucking house (although I did not swear) and my nearly 3yo will be lucky if she has a party at all. I have never seen such bad behaviour in one so small. I could happily get the duct tape out and stick her to the wall. In fact she has just had her first smack on her bare leg. I do not believe in smacking, but she does not seem to respond to any other approach. It was a controlled smack, not me losing control. To put it in context she had just punched her sister in the head. Grr!

MsJupiterJones · 06/04/2013 17:10

Pass L also sleeps in grobag, with blanket added if he is cold in night. I make sure both his vest & sleepsuit have long sleeves as it's so cold at night atm.

We didn't make it 5 nights in a row, he wanted a feed at 2am. It took me a while to realise he wasn't going to settle and I was very groggy and grumpy, amazing how a few better nights makes a bad one seem worse. But hopefully a blip. I am sure overall things are improving .

TheDetective · 06/04/2013 17:15

I can't believe what I've just found out! We now get time and a half for extra shifts at work if you work over FT hours.

I just worked out I have lost out on well over £1000 from the change as I did all my extras last year.

Gutted doesn't really cover it.

I won't do extras ever unless it would be for saving for mat leave as it just isn't worth it otherwise.

:(
