I am mortified!

SORRY LUIS!

Clarella · 04/04/2013 21:25

pass I'm v puzzled by what that doc said too. can you double check with her?

Passmethecrisps · 04/04/2013 21:29

Does it sound odd to you as well clarella? It's possible she just didn't get the way the notes were written and doesn't have a full understanding of the ins and outs of childbirth but it just seemed odd. I know that there weren't implements used as DH was there and would know. I know she had both hands right inside and had to really pull.

TheDetective · 04/04/2013 21:32

Pass can possibly provide explanation. Doing transfer and I'll come back!

MsJupiterJones · 04/04/2013 21:32

Pass Grin at your dung spreader. If our LOs do massive shits in the night we'll all know who to blame.

Hope everyone has good nights. Five months of interrupted sleep had really started to get me down so I hope the last few nights weren't a fluke but the start of a new phase. He is currently laughing at me so who knows.

ps Det we were using a Bugaboo Bee on holiday and our (tall) niece has grown waaaay out of it at 22mo.

Passmethecrisps · 04/04/2013 21:40

Oh noes! Please don't let me have caused an epidemic of night shits!

YellowWellies · 04/04/2013 21:41

Pass I got that it was sleepy dust you were spreading! Luis will too. They can get bruised noggins from bashing against your cervix on the way out so don't jump to the worst conclusion. Easier said than done I know.

MM £80! Damn girl I'm going to kidnap you and appoint you official bargain spotter for our new house. Task one - fuck off huuuuuuge farmhouse dining table. Smile

Clarella · 04/04/2013 21:42

ooo I'm nodding off but want detectives explanation too.....nosy

next Fred title might include dung spreaders ;)

Clarella · 04/04/2013 21:44

it's quite novel to be awake while child snores. in cot......

MissMummy1 · 04/04/2013 21:44

YW can you list eBay/Gumtree as a hobby without sounding like a total saddo?? Blush Hmm

Jims · 04/04/2013 21:47

I too am laughing at the dung spreader. That was brilliant.

bplp Sympathies from here. Just remember it's a temporary time while they're little and need so much. Well that's ehat i tell myself on days (today) when dealing with a fussy non-eating sleep dodger.

Having said that i took F to be weighed on the usual scales and he's 'put on' 240g in a week. I think there may have been a certain element of different scales/time of day issues at the hospital last week. Much happier now so going to continue v v slowly with the advised early weaning. And avoid weigh ins unless absolutely necessary or i really am concerned about him.

ValiumQueen · 04/04/2013 21:50

pass I knew what you meant!

MissMummy1 · 04/04/2013 21:51

I knew what pass meant. And didn't giggle much Grin

Passmethecrisps · 04/04/2013 21:56

luis! I am sorreeeeeeeeeeee

Kyzordz · 04/04/2013 21:56

Evening all!

Well done mini vq was that straight sleep? Goshes! I still daren't drop the dream feed, may try it again when I'm having another insane moment.

pass could it be pressure that caused p's bruising? And the fact the mw had to pull her out with her hands? I'm probably talking rubbish

I'm getting a haircut tomorrow too bplp I hope you get some sleep tonight

det I always added the IG to the feeds for the day, stored them in the fridge then heated them and swirled them well. Never had a problem here, but it had to be done that way for when we were out/night feeds to save the faff and my gp said it would be fine. The way I managed to use sachets wisely was to add up the oz I made during 24 hours so say he has 6 x 6oz, that's 36oz. If its 2sachwts for 8oz (is it?) then do 40oz water in a jug, add the 5 dual sachets, so the 10 individual ones, however you want to put it, swirly swirl, dissolve, pour 6oz into each of your 6 bottles and make up as required with formula. That way not wasting formula or IG, you'll have a couple of oz left in the jug but it's far less waste/correct dosing and all that. Does that make sense? I found the hotter the water was for IG the better it dissolved but then obv let it cool etc as required for his milk. I hope that makes sense, i'm rubbish with words. I kept a sterilised jug and whisk for when I made IG bottles this way.

Sorry evil

Car remember what else I had to say :(

Dp managed to put e to bed tonight, no hissy fit! Result. He has been a nightmare bit difficult with feeds today, hope tomorrow isn't as bad! He always does a poo when drinking bottle 2 of the day. Today he didn't. Today he did it in town after bottle 2 and it went everyfuckingwhere!! All down his trousers!!

TheDetective · 04/04/2013 22:00

Ok, back!!!

Still giggling at the dung spreader Grin.

The most likely explaination apart from the doctor not having done obs&gynae in the last 50 years is the meconium - what you said. The cephalhematoma (bruising) is possibly caused by a couple of things. Long labour - head pressing on a cervix for quite some time. Pushing before fully dilated. Or the most common - back to back labour/pushing. Quite often babies come out with bruised noggins from normal vaginal births :)

TheDetective · 04/04/2013 22:05

Thanks for the Ig tips! I will read them in bed later and digest better and see if it could work for us!

YW you are right :( I've passed it up. I know I do need a pushchair, but given the rate of shit breaking, I better wait! Mind you, I didn't feel any better off than when on full pay. Hmm How's that work then?!

pass Mop and bucket? Have you dribbled while on your knees?! I find keeping knees clenched helps. Grin

Well, I'm mostly packed. Last minute bits to add in the morning. Taxi booked for 10. And that's me for 5 days. Fear not though! I will not be far! I'm taking the laptop Grin even bought a bag to take it in haha! since I'm a sad fucking bastard! My excuse is, we need it for the white noise...

But seriously, I'm envisaging beds by 9pm while there. His wife. Well. Nuff said.

I'm going for the free food, and free entertainment for 5 days. Anything free is good for me! Please wish my fanjo luck though. It's a lot of traveling and I'm a liiiiiiittle lot worried. Hmm

fruitpastilles · 04/04/2013 22:05

Dung spreader Grin pass

kyz yay for dp putting E to bed, hopefully he can do it a bit more to give you a bit of a break!

Ok, how long are babies in parent facing pushchairs for? (As in facing the parent position) I really want to get one but don't know if it's worth it or not? We have a vile silver cross 3d, it's so big and bulky. I loved it as a pram but S has outgrown the carrycot and I don't really like not being able to see her any more. Also need some recommendations for a decent the cheaper the better one.

ValiumQueen · 04/04/2013 22:07

kyz 8pm to 7am with one cough at time unknown as I did not even open my eyes. I have an Angel Care Monitor thankfully, otherwise I would have run into his room screaming. He was so happy when he woke, all smiley and cooey. He knew he had done good Grin

YellowWellies · 04/04/2013 22:07

I love the Mamas & Papas Sola - we still have it parent facing.

ValiumQueen · 04/04/2013 22:10

I have never had a parent facing pushchair, and my children still recognise me. I figure looking at the world would be much more interesting anyway.

TheDetective · 04/04/2013 22:11

There is a Sola on the facebook page with the Bugaboo. A green one. The one I like. You are not helping my addiction here!!!

TheDetective · 04/04/2013 22:11

I have let O face out for the first time this week. I won't be doing it again for a bit. I missed him. Grin Sad fucker!

fruitpastilles · 04/04/2013 22:14

yw just googled it, it's lovely, bit pricey for me though.

vq S loves facing forward, she gets much more excited now that she's not in the carrycot when I put her in the pushchair, I'm just being a bit paranoid in not being able to see her, but yes she would much rather be nosey have a look around than look at my ugly mug!

Kyzordz · 04/04/2013 22:17

Have fun det!

fruit my mum is 36 weeks pregnant and is going to have an elcs and be sterilised too with any luck!!! and she is a carer, I will be taking over for her for a few months for the one lady who needs someone for an hour or two in the evenings, I have to leave at 7:30 and get home at about 9:30 so will totally miss bath and bed time :( so dp being able to do it is vital really! I have been going to the lady this week, mum has been able to be around for back up for dp after the screamathon which knocked his confidence massively. Tonight meant he waited at the front door to tell me of his achievement as he was like a proud puppy or something! Quite sweet. Am sure I didn't need to ramble so much but yes it's great he managed it and hopefully it wasn't a one off :) obv soon and after the elcs she won't be around as backup but hopefully he'll be alright by then :)

vq that is amazing, fc it continues :D
