yw amazing??!!!

ValiumQueen · 20/03/2013 21:13

sophia after a quick google, it is one of the potential side effects. May be best to talk to your GP before taking more, or call NHS24 if bleeding is worrying you x

Sophiathesnowfairy · 20/03/2013 21:14

Apparently bleeding is a side effect but I have been given it to stop it. I fear I will have to alarm set to tampon change tonight.

We are away from Sunday and I know the nurse is a the surgery tomorrow and. Wonder about just going and have the Mirena taken out r should I give the norethisterone a few more days to work I just don't know what to do.

Pikz · 20/03/2013 21:15

I know VQ it was just when the doctor said and your breast feeding? I felt all ashamed to say no Hmm

Sophia I'm so sorry it's really really crap. I've never heard of those drugs I usually take tranexamic and mefanamic acid which worked for me to calm bleeding down. Go back to doc urgently if not working. I was nearly hospitalised due to excessive blood loss.

YW arms wins the most shit award!

VQ I too am getting used to formula poo!

ValiumQueen · 20/03/2013 21:17

I would be tempted to leave just a pad on overnight and scare the crap out of your DH when he wakes up in it. Might prompt him to get the snip.

Seriously, I would get the fucker out and have a ban on nookie until he has the snip.

PetiteRaleuse · 20/03/2013 21:19

Don't blame you Soph are you taking iron supplements all this bleeding can't be good.

I have to admit that with my DCs various illnesses it hadn't occurred to me to blame myself for ff'ing. And I am not going to start now. I blame the fact that DD1 has been going to nursery. It's an unfortunate fact of life that exposure to bugs increase the risk of babies getting ill far more than the way we choose, orr not, to feed them. I almost never get ill, and the fact I got flu and bronchitis this year with my immune system means I can't be surprised that my two have been ill with them too. Please don't beat yourselves up when the babies get ill :)

Passmethecrisps · 20/03/2013 21:19

I was thinking about you YW. Can you eat pepperoni? It did have a very small amount of mozerella. The rest was pizza sauce, red peppers, tomatoes, mushrooms and pepperoni. Was all just a bit red. Even the mushrooms went a bit browny red with the olive oil on it.

Not sure how I am going to summarise today.

katkit1 · 20/03/2013 21:21

I understand horsey

Pikz · 20/03/2013 21:22

Sophia with the mirena I got told not to wear tampons unless absolutely necessary and to use towels. Don't know why really but I followed it.

BigPigLittlePig · 20/03/2013 21:26

pass you could begin with something along the lines of - everyones baby's have grown (established that over 3 pages or so), the bf v ff debate rages on with babies trying to prove and disprove just about every theory going, chateau pr has been struck down once more (this time with ear goo)...

BigPigLittlePig · 20/03/2013 21:27

bplp employs shocking use of apostrophes....

Passmethecrisps · 20/03/2013 21:31

Hmm. Well, sweary Wednesday was more of a pensive Wednesday with some revelations and reflections upon our own experiences.

toomany got the ball rolling by introducing the quiche to the lesser known 'lip tie'. Apparently thought to be the cause of numerous problems with latch, feeding problems, colic and reflux, it would appear to be complete news to everyone. Of those who investigated many reported back that their child had the tie. This led to a fairly melancholic mood settling on the thread as many considered their battle to perform 'the most natural thing in the world' with little support and even less knowledge from the medical profession. This list of quichesters with their own story is so long that I am not going to name check for fear of missing someone. Suffice to say that 'the most natural thing in the world' would also appear to be the most emotional.

And YW's J did a poonami of such epic proportions that he filled his own sleeves. Much respec'

Note - the beautiful blonder is now the tres glamorous msjupiterjones

Sophiathesnowfairy · 20/03/2013 21:33

They said I could use tampons pikz I have been mix ad matching tbh, the amount of time I have been using them both cause irritation.

Passmethecrisps · 20/03/2013 21:33

Ah! BP you just did it in fewer words, made it funny and in about 30 seconds.

kirrinIsland · 20/03/2013 21:34

N had bronculitis and is EBF. DD1 was ebf til 6 months, mixed fed til 9 months and has had pretty much everything going.

In fact DD1 is currently nursing a temp of 39, which is not something I've dealt with before. She's in a thin PJ top and nappy, and had calpol and a cool flannel before bed. Anything else I should do / should have done? I'm checking her regularly, obviously.

BigPigLittlePig · 20/03/2013 21:35

No chance! Twas merely a helping hand. Plus I missed the important emotional stuff.

Off to bed before I get too rambly. Night all! xx

Passmethecrisps · 20/03/2013 21:39

Oh! And thank you for the fish FedEx VQ . Much needed. Gave myself a good old kick up the arse. Do you know though that I dreamed that I started expressing again. I had gallons of milk which was all thick like custard. Strangely, when P is very tired she likes to bury her face into a boob while sucking her dummy. She completely adopts the nursing position.

TooManyDicksOnTheDancefloor · 20/03/2013 21:41

Well dome pass, great summary. Sorry I broke the thread today, normal service will resume tomorrow Grin

TooManyDicksOnTheDancefloor · 20/03/2013 21:43

Dome? I've obviously got boobs on the brain!

Passmethecrisps · 20/03/2013 21:46

You broke nothing toomany. I think we do lapse into melancholy occassionally. You could have said the same thing another day and the response would have been different. I think you gave people a focus and genuinely helped MANY out

Passmethecrisps · 20/03/2013 21:46

Night night BP

capedcrusader25 · 20/03/2013 21:49

You've helped me massively toomany I now know I'm not a paranoid, fussy, pfb mother but that my baby actually has something which has made it very difficult for her to feed. And I now that my constant refusal to make her go longer between feeds was right after all because she needed to feed little and often because its all she could manage. So thank you, as vq and many others say frequently this a thread for support, advice, friendship and guidance.

StuntNun · 20/03/2013 21:50

Fucking get in! James is asleep in his cot without boobing to sleep. First twatting time ever that he's gone to sleep in the cunting cot by himself with much patting and singing and being picked up and cuddled twice. I'm chuffed to bits, this is the start of him getting to sleep by himself. Bloody brilliant! Have I reclaimed sweary Wednesday?

kissyfur · 20/03/2013 21:55

Pills to stop bleeding that have bleeding as a side effect?!? You must be so fed up of it now Sophia

Great summary as usual pass

I actually thought there was more BF support in 2010 when I had DD1 than there was with LO, maybe as I wasn't a first time mum this time I was just left to get on with it tho? I really struggled to get BF established with DD1 but it was easy after the first 6 weeks. This time it's been the other way round!

Pikz don't ever feel guilty about formula feeding after all you have been through! No one should feel guilty about it, I know it's not that simple tho

Elizadoesdolittle · 20/03/2013 21:55

Well E's weight and feeding issues are well documented here but I will try and summarise.

E was born weighing 8lbs 1oz and between 50th and 75th centile. She dropped to 7lbs 3ozs and then didn't even get on the 4th centile. When we got taken into hospital she weighed 8lbs 13ozs so shed basically taken over 3 months to gain less than 2lbs. Now just over two weeks later she weighs 11lbs 4ozs.

Written down like that I find it absolutely shocking that we didn't receive help much much earlier. Nobody suggested I get help re latching on or looking for tongue tie. It was all top up with formula. I took it upon myself to call the LLL and go to a local breast feeding support group. I wish I'd gone so much sooner. It was all too little far too late. I wish to god I could have mixed fed but E was having none of it. So much was geared towards getting E to take a bottle my supply suffered. And now E has to be topped up via a tube and will more than likely have to be till she's at least 6 months. Everytime I look at a photo of E as a baby whether it's in 2 weeks or 10 years time I will be reminded that I failed to feed my baby.
