Eliza good luck for weigh in! ... looking forward to some happy news! Smile

Bryzoan · 03/03/2013 22:23

pr mmmm - duck sounds lovely. Got any grapes? So pleased to hear you are all well at last and had fun.

vq hope your Sunday has got a bit better.

Eliza sounds like you're doing brilliantly. Keep hanging on in there - hope you get home soon.

mm good luck with the phone calls. If needs be we can always offer you an expletive overdraft to get you through to sweary Wednesday (iPhone just corrected that to sweaty Wednesday - we'll save that for mr detective though). Well done on the hire car cabin bf.

We went out to lunch today for MIL's 60th, which was lovely, though I was sat opposite my very nice but ultra conservative and traditional fil and g doesn't take a bottle so I also had to exercise my bf balls of steel. I used a cover but it was still a bit awkward. Dh was great and subtly made it clear he thought feeding in the restaurant was absolutely fine which helped smooth things, as I think the ILs mainly worry about what other people will think. Less helpfully g was spectacularly unsettled, which didn't support me in my quest to feed subtly like an unflappable pro. Now we are home I think he has an ear infection as his right ear is warm and he's clawing it. Could be another bad night, with a trip to the docs tomorrow if he's not better.

G is getting really interested in toys now. Which is great fun, but was less than ideal in the restaurant as in a refreshingly normal piece of toddler behaviour dd decided she desperately wanted the only toy that was occaisionally settling him. It was a really nice meal out but I did feel like I was wrestling 2 noisy crocodiles for most of it.

Thanks for more very sweet and helpful messages re dd. Noisy crocodiles asside it was great to get out for a bit of normal today with our lovely family and remember how much there is to celebrate.

dreamfeeds - none here - if he's asleep for a bit that works for me!

Night all, see you in the morning or in a couple of hours if we all run out of luck.

Bring on restful Monday - I wish!

Bryzoan · 03/03/2013 22:31

Happy birthday sweetpea! Too much happens here in the time it takes me to write a post. It is a sign of the times when all you want for your birthday is a bit of sleep! Well done pig for sharing in the end Smile.

StuntNun · 03/03/2013 22:36

Kyz you can fill in the passport applications online now and they are posted out to you.

I am a bit meh about Skyfall VQ. It was okay but it looked like someone had mucked around with the script last minute in ways that didn't really make much sense. Still the stunts and fight scenes were good and there were some nice directorial touches. I especially liked the way James Bond adjusted his cuffs after jumping into a moving train. DS1 and DS2 enjoyed it though.

I have ordered a Jumperoo and come clean to DH about it. Still not quite worked out exactly where I'm going to put it.

You b4st4rds better not have used up all the sleepy dust. I'm feeding J now and then I want a good five hours sleep pleeeeease.

Izzybuzzybuzzybees · 03/03/2013 22:43

I'm in bed now. J is still awake downstairs with daddy. He's just had a bottle of EBM and downed the full 6oz which he has never done. The fact he's finished a bottle makes me think I may have an ok night. Surely anything has to be better than every 1.5-2 hrs which was last night. I hope so!

Night everyone!

TheDetective · 03/03/2013 22:47

Happy birthday Sweetpea get anything nice? Apart from the sleep you most certainly should be getting!!

Bry You made me snort, and DP wanted to know what I was snorting about. I had to lie badly to him! Grin My iphone changes it to sweaty too btw! You'd think it'd have learned by now!

Stunt Glad to hear your boys liked it. DS is 11 next saturday and we are having a sleepover with his twin friends and they plan to watch it after I checked with the boys mum it was okay (as it's a 12A I think). I don't like James Bond. I think its rubbish!! Blush

Eliza I'm excited to hear from you tomorrow! I am keeping my fingers tightly crossed that she has put a good amount of weight on!

TheDetective · 03/03/2013 22:49

Kyz that is the same for us, the last 2 hours or so are spent in bed with us as he is unsettled. It's easier to co-sleep then than to piss around getting up and down to him. I had to do the same with DS1 thinking about it. I remember he came in to bed around 5am.

Kyzordz · 03/03/2013 22:58

Ooh didn't realise stunt thanks for that!

detective I figured it was cos they were too asleep to be hungry properly but would want food if awake so get all squiggly etc. im just far too lazy and bung him in bed with me, it stops all squiggles for some reason and he sleeps like a log, usually I have to wake him when he's in with us!

Sleep time now, see you all in the morning. Dp has gone, I did my best not to cry just sobbed like an idiot when he'd gone

MummaPanda · 03/03/2013 23:10

Ok so confession time, this antenatal thread kept me sane in last few weeks of pregnancy, but wasnt brave enough to join lol.
But anyhoo my gorgeous daughter is 15weeks today (born 18th Nov)
And the reason I finally decided to join, erm, well, found out yesterday I am pregnant. Again. Whoops. Lol.

rootypig · 03/03/2013 23:20

MummaPanda waaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!! that is all!

poor DH would love the opportunity to get me pregnant again Hmm

congrats you crazy cat Grin

Contradictionincarnate · 03/03/2013 23:21

panda congrats! have you tried to work out edd how close bdays will be?

MummaPanda · 03/03/2013 23:29

I found out yesterday, still freaking out a bit lol! No idea when EDD will be yet but most likely DC2 will be born before DD is 1. DD is good as gold though, an absolute angel. And DH, despite initial shock is now really happy about it.

StuntNun · 04/03/2013 00:11

Congratulations Panda and welcome to non-lurker status. Wink

He slept two hours. Confused I am tired. DH is furious as he has important work stuff on tomorrow.

TheDetective · 04/03/2013 00:23

Fucking hell. I knew there was a reason why I don't read about parenting stuff.

Just read a link someone posted on MN about attachment parenting.

Well, now I feel utterly shit.

www.drmomma.org/2012/09/the-dangers-of-crying-it-out.html if anyone wants to also feel shit. It's the bit at the end about it not being normal for babies to cry. Fuckers. I need to shit at some point in the fucking day. And eat. And piss. Fucker fucker fuckers. Sorry!!!

Clearly I am a selfish bitch. Hmm

ChunkyChicken · 04/03/2013 00:33

Congrats panda, my DS is 16wks today :)

Given I think I conceived DS around the end of Feb, and my EDD was 19/11, I would guess yours at about 05/11... Wow, potentially 2 under 1. Just wow!!!

Think my DH would like the TTC bit w/out the C bit rooty Grin but he half suggested we 'let nature take its course' last night. Given I'm yet to have my first period post-DS, it would be a hell of a chance for nature to result in DC#3!!

stunt hard on you, but can't DH sleep on the sofa or something, so your (& J's) nocturnal activities don't wake him, leading to his wholly unjustified but understandable anger? Hope he sleeps more from now on.

Anyway, that's definitely, absolutely, categorically the last post from me this evening week as won't have wi-fi all week. See you next weekend.:)

kirrinIsland · 04/03/2013 00:55

Happy birthday sweetpea

Welcome mummapanda and congratulations Thanks

izzy and stunt hope a longer stretch is forthcoming. We have just managed a whole 1.5hours, which doesn't bode well for the rest of the night. If this is a phase it's a bloody long one. If it isn't then I have no idea how to fix it.

PurplePidjin · 04/03/2013 01:18

Happy birthday Sweetpea Thanks

Congratulations Mumma Thanks

R finally napped when we got home, 4:30-7:30. I woke him, fed him and he fell asleep in frontof top gear at 8:30. Brought him up and did a dream feed at 9:15, and he still woke at 1. I'm now forcing the second side on him in the vain hop he sleeps more than 2 hours now Sad

kirrinIsland · 04/03/2013 01:47

And we're up again :( I'd love to know what I'm doing wrong.

How do you teach self settling? I can't do anything that involves noise as I don't want to wake DD1, and N seems to go straight for noise when she wakes at night - not crying, just noise. But when I have tried leaving her a while it always escalates in to tears. Always. The rare occasions she has gone back to sleep have been when there's been no noise in the first place.

Good luck pidgin Hope you get back to sleep quickly.

TheDetective · 04/03/2013 02:19

Well. That was a shag once in a blue moon that they are ruined. Thanks O. This is the 4th night of 2am wakening. So we're still sticking to 4 hours are we?! Gah.

fucking excellent contraception he is...

DP is looking ever so frustrated. Grin

See you at 6ish I guess. :/ --and I'll die if it's any fucking sooner!!-/

PurplePidjin · 04/03/2013 02:51

45 fucking minutes Angry kirrin, i want to know what I'm doing wrong too! The idea of cc appals me at such a young age, but I'm running out of sanity...

kirrinIsland · 04/03/2013 02:58

Know what you mean pidjin I don't think cc is an option at this age but it's so frustrating. She's not hungry, she just latches on and goes straight back to sleep. I need to break that habit, but not letting her latch on just results in tears. I've try rocking, sushing etc both in and out of the cot but she just won't have it.

Izzybuzzybuzzybees · 04/03/2013 03:20

Well he went 4.5 hrs between feeds which is miles better than last night but DH didn't come to bed til midnight as J wouldnt go to sleep. So I think its probably easier if I do last feed as he will fall asleep feeding. Not sure really. We used to give an expressed bottle and I think I remember same thing, I'd go to bed and DH would be up for ages with a non sleepy baby.

I wish he would nap more, or at all, or sleep all night or something!!

ValiumQueen · 04/03/2013 03:24

He did 5 hours so major improvement.

Welcome, and congrats panda

detective that is just one opinion! Do not let it give you the guilts.

We are doing nothing wrong and the babies are not doing anything wrong either.

Izzybuzzybuzzybees · 04/03/2013 03:47

This feed is taking ages :( I want to sleep

ValiumQueen · 04/03/2013 03:54

Over an hour here izzy but he has just done a whopper of a poo so hopeful he can settle soon. Gallons of the stuff! He looked so chuffed and started laughing!

As he slept 5 hours I think I am going to be ok today.

Made a start on my craft last night. It helped. I need to make things to be happy. I know I made a baby but that was a while ago now.
