Ugh to mil isthat and anyone else with issues. Mine is coming in 2 weeks so ready dreading it. Apparently she's wants to "talk to me criticise about BLW and baby massage' Confused

SeymoreInOz · 01/03/2013 06:10

Hah, yes I remember saying to DH "but what if he's lonely??" when he finally started going to bed before 11pm, not attached to me. DH did this Hmm

DS did a 4 hour stretch last night, but I was woken halfway through it by DS1 sobbing, with a temp of 39!

SeymoreInOz · 01/03/2013 06:13

uhoh honey that sounds ominous!

HoneyMumandSon · 01/03/2013 06:14

It does, doesn't it...? she can bugger off

SpottyTeacakes · 01/03/2013 06:15

Ah Seymore we both have poorly bigger ones!

IsThat I hate all the 'I weaned you at x weeks and you're fine' blah blah there's a lot of threads on it atm and some one was saying 'well my brother was weaned at two weeks'. People are so stupid it's not about if they baby is 'hungry' Hmm it's about gut maturity argh it really winds me up!

We're up for the day Sad luckily I have hot cross buns and coffee!

2blessed · 01/03/2013 06:17

I would not be looking forward to that talk honey Hmm

Ds back in his basket, dp's lunch made and bottles sterilising. Now I can get some sleep!

SpottyTeacakes · 01/03/2013 06:18

Honey tell her 'it's just finger food like I'm sure you have to dh when he was little' I think people get riled up by the faddy names and think it's something it's not!

PurplePidjin · 01/03/2013 07:31

My mum made weaning noises in asda yesterday so i politely pointed out that there's no way he could sit safely in a high chair yet :o she did buy him some bickiepegs though ready for teething, but at 14 weeks that's fairly imminent!!

SpottyTeacakes · 01/03/2013 07:37

Oh yes pidj could be anywhen from now eek!

Someone on another thread posted a quote from the gov start for life (or something) page about the banana test. Basically if your dc can sit in their high chair, reach out and grab half a ripe banana from you, bring it to their mouth and eat a bit then they're ready for weaning Smile

WillYouDoTheFandango · 01/03/2013 07:40

Fantastic night - 8-2, 2:30-7:15. Completely wiped out by being woken by J flipping his basket off the stand and face planting the floor Shock, rang ooh doc and J could be heard laughing and farting throughout the call. He seems fine, I however am having a small heart attack. Is it too early for a brandy? Confused

SpottyTeacakes · 01/03/2013 07:44

Goodness WillYou time to move to a cot?!

ignoring all your sleep Wink

PurplePidjin · 01/03/2013 07:45

Medicinal purposes, WillYou Shock

Chloe55 · 01/03/2013 07:52

Argh willyou what a shock!

WillYouDoTheFandango · 01/03/2013 07:59

Yep he's on his play gym having a rare old time and I have my eyes glued to him. I would put him in his cot but he's still really little, nowhere near filling his moses basket plus the cot won't fit in our room and there's now no way he's going in his own. Maybe I could just ditch the stand and put him on the floor?

SpottyTeacakes · 01/03/2013 08:01

Yes I would do that Smile he must have been having a right old wiggle!

IsThatTrue · 01/03/2013 08:02

willyou floor sounds best! Shock

WillYouDoTheFandango · 01/03/2013 08:03

It fell lengthways, end over end and landed face down. I cannot imagine how he did it

WillYouDoTheFandango · 01/03/2013 08:06

How do I unhide a thread? I must've hidden you all by accident and now I can only find the thread via the old one with the link.

WillYouDoTheFandango · 01/03/2013 08:09

Worked it out, that's not easy.

IsThatTrue · 01/03/2013 08:28

willyou I may have done that a few times on the mobile site, it's so easy to hide and pretty hard to unhide!

EggsMichelle · 01/03/2013 08:45

9.30-3, 3.30-6.30 Grin I had to wake him to pick DH up from work, he had a bottle and gone back to sleep!

DM and mil like to tell me how we were all on solids at 8wks, but say it in a way that they are proud of us for tolerating constant bottle feeding. F has 6oz ever two hours during the day, works out as about 42oz per day Shock

Had a lovely day yesterday, weather was amazing here so took F, the dog and DF to the country park, had a picnic and had a several mile stroll, can't wait to move back to Leicester to do that walk more often. Oh and F had his 12wk jabs in the morning, and apart from the initial shock, they didn't bother him at all!!!

coffeeandcream · 01/03/2013 09:05

Morning everyone, lots to catch up on!

willyou OMG! I would have harassing melt down if that had happened to us! Hope you are ok now.

It's my DHs grandma who keeps asking me when I'm putting 11wk old DS on solids. She keeps asking and still looks Confused when I keep saying 'when he is six months'.

I took DS to the cinema this week, during the middle of the day thinking it would be quiet ax the grave. It was packed out with elderly people! Several looked at DS like he was an unexplored bomb but he lay in my lap, face buried in my boob and slept/fed throughout!

coffeeandcream · 01/03/2013 09:06

Harassing!! I meant 'would have had'!

coffeeandcream · 01/03/2013 09:07

Oh dear God just seen all my typos... Going to crawl back under my duvet for more sleep...

Stacks · 01/03/2013 09:43

Willyou that's quite an acrobat you've got there! Glad he's ok, that would have terrified me.

I've had to force T to nap, he was screaming at everything, including my breast when trying to feed him to sleep. In the end I laid him on his back on my bed and leaned over and shoved my nipple in his mouth. Which he promptly sucked and fell asleep. I'm now stuck in bed with him, but there are worse things.
