Are you back at work already daisy?

Just got the old mamas out in Ikea. A bloke in there looked at me like he couldn't believe what I was doing, I gave him the old 'fuck you' eyes and he angrily looked away Grin

Tommy had his second lot of jabs this morning so am expecting grumpy strops tonight.

kissyfur · 21/02/2013 15:19

I had a similar reaction from a couple in a cafe on Monday Shelley. I started feeding LO (very discreetly i might add) and the man moved from sitting opposite his wife to sitting next to her so they both had their backs to me. Wankers! Made me seethe!

Contradictionincarnate · 21/02/2013 15:24

kissy do you think he may have thought you wanted privacy? I am soo naive I know.
really puts me off attempting it!
d is sleepy today still no routine!! I am being a Velcro mummy today feel guilty in advance that I will be away from d for 24 hours!

Contradictionincarnate · 21/02/2013 15:27

oh and pennie don't think he wrote it could have even been prince he had it out first though think his version is more famous...or is that just in wales!
"think I better dance now"

gardenpixie32 · 21/02/2013 15:27

A busy day for the little pixies!

We went to baby massage. The woman who ran the course massaged G while I massaged M, it was lovely! Had long walk home with buggy, cold but a nice walk.

Also had them weighed, M is 14lb exactly & G 13lb1. Both have dropped centiles - 50th to 25th centile and 25 to 9th centile. I am presuming it is because they are sleeping though and missing a feed? Was it YW who said the same thing?

Hope everyone had a nice day!

kissyfur · 21/02/2013 15:28

No contra I don't think he did. I was listening to their conversation and the wife definitely said 'well I wouldn't do it' don't think I was being paranoid. It makes me so cross when people make mums feel uncomfortable for feeding their baby.

kissyfur · 21/02/2013 15:29

Oh and please don't let it put you off Smile

Passmethecrisps · 21/02/2013 15:33

Sorry shelly but what the fuck? I cannot imagine what goes through some people's heads when they do that. So you feed your baby and he looks aghast? Wanker. Would he rather you took 5 times longer getting a bottle out while LO goes mental - I know this cause it's what happens to me! Attach tassels to them next time. Or get one of those big nipple hats for LO!

kyzords I have asked that same question on here and the only solution is what tiger said which is to actually put your arms our and say 'give him here'. I posted before when my BF was holding p and P went insane. Friend ran off into another room with her. It certainly didn't help P and I was really stressed. I am getting better at it now though. I don't know what makes people do it though

Hi-5 YW! I am delighted for you. It is such a weight off to know that you are all sorted. When we were moving and needed a buy to let mortgage for our old flat there was all sorts of shenanigans with one mortgage which delayed the other. Two days after we got the agreement the company took that mortgage off the market. We were 2 days from total financial ruin - that's not an exaggeration.

Oh, who was asking about reflux sleepers? Was it comrade? It may be too late for this but our thing is swaddling. We use a Summer swaddleme microfibre wrap. I think YW uses the same one. P's basket is elevated by a shoebox. We use rinitidine and domperidone 3 times a day and infant gaviscon every feed. This all keeps her pretty asymptomatic and at night time she is a fabulous sleeper. Her naps are hit and miss but I can't complain at all.

Passmethecrisps · 21/02/2013 15:38

Right. kissy as well. What is wrong with people? Are we really so fucked up as a nation that we are disgusted by babies being fed? Ima gonna follow all you BFers around and bosh judgers over the head with my tommee tippees.

Today I am thankful for bumbos! Courtesy of the lovely VQ p now has a bumbo!

Right now however, she seems to have decide she wants to lie in her basket and play. With me. Which means I can't leave her side while she lies there.

Contradictionincarnate · 21/02/2013 15:38

yw holding off celebration for when you have escro... welldone on the mortgage though buying in Scotland your v near to securing the property ... not so down here!

gardenpixie32 · 21/02/2013 15:57

I have just seen the very first Due in Nov 13 Ante Natal thread! There is only one poster so far! So strange to think we were just a couple of days pregnant this times last year.

FatimaLovesBread · 21/02/2013 16:02

Just read back through the thread. Glad to see in not the only one with a nosey baby. Last night I ended up wrapping her muslin over her eyes and she finally went to sleep. She's another one who pops off and smiles (normally followed by sick), or to have a sick of her hand before latching back on.
Right now she's studying the zip of my zip up hoody and playing with the hood string.
Might invent some blinkers for her like horses wear Grin

FatimaLovesBread · 21/02/2013 16:09

petite I thought about nurseries not being as affected by staff sickness and holiday etc. at the moment though we'll only need childcare one day a week so I suppose that'll be less of an issue as it'd be easier for us to cover the odd day rather than whole weeks.?

kissyfur · 21/02/2013 16:16

Thanks pass Smile it makes my blood boil too!

MissMummy1 · 21/02/2013 16:28

Tried and failed to catch upBlush

Fabulous news yw

All my stresses last night were for nothing. M was an absolute star at work last night! My client's parents played with her for 2 hours and she had a ball!! The boy's dad is now poss the broodiest man (bar my primary teacher friend Mark) I know! Such a relief.

Have posted a pic on fb of my BARGAINOUS 99p rocking horse! It's brand new too. I love eBay Grin

Rant alert (I didnt swear yesterday so close your ears those of a sensitive nature). Some fucking ignorant perverted wankbadger took it upon himself to have a go at me for bfing M in the doc surgery this morning. Angry Angry Angry The pissing doctors surgery!?!? I think the building is still shaking from my following outburst Blush

M has more anti bs and been referred to dermatologist. Infection is staph Sad

YellowWellies · 21/02/2013 16:29

Just bought the wee man a "Sophie la giraffe" chew toy - he loves her! I might get my fingers back Smile Also thinking of getting an amber anklet to help with teething - total woo? Hmm

Everything pass said about sleep and reflux - swaddling is your friend - I intend to swaddle Jonas until he is, woooo, five! Wink

YellowWellies · 21/02/2013 16:37

Sorry to hear about fecktard responses to BF - Daily Mail readers one and all I bet - the sort of folks scared of the female body / lecherous yet moralistic. Grrrrrr

Sorry to hear the infection is strep MM how are they going to treat it?

Contradictionincarnate · 21/02/2013 16:44

aw mm1 what did the guy say? how did you respond!? do they have posters up not that they should need to!
I agree that its usually people that see breasts as a sex thing are the ones disgusted by it!
I have stopped shutting curtains to feed think it will only look like I am hugging dd if people look in- I do have nets up. makes me feel much better that its light out.

PurplePidjin · 21/02/2013 16:45

I am thankful that I knew Doreen and that R sat in the stretchy watching the light through the stained glass window for the whole service. I am thankful that i could be there fot Reg.

Contradictionincarnate · 21/02/2013 16:55

aw purple that's such a lovely thankful!
I haven't even done mine yet feel thankful for everything today ... that my family is healthy and happy that they are all involved with dd and I am getting closer and seeing more of them all...

Contradictionincarnate · 21/02/2013 17:02

thought I may kinda try EASY today but its been EAESEAEAE ... Gettng a few yawns now but can't see her sleeping.

blonderedhead · 21/02/2013 17:17

Fuck, I missed Sweary Wednesday.

Today I am thankful for baby giggles.

Hello new(ish) thread.

PetiteRaleuse · 21/02/2013 17:26

I am thankful for cheese, that the flu has fucked off, for Dexter - two new episodes tonight - and For the brilliant workers at DD1's nursery - I will be so sad when she stops.

YellowWellies · 21/02/2013 17:37

I am thankful that my wee man has found his laugh. Its somewhere between Loony Tunes and sex pest despite this it makes me melt.

I'm thankful that helpful banks like First Direct exist and that our vendors appear to be straightforward non greedy folks. very shallowly I'm thankful they're leaving their seven burner range cooker.

I'm thankful that DH looks after stressful stuff like mortgage applications whilst my brain feels frazzled with baby stuff - its nice that my control freak tendencies can finally relax now I'm with someone I trust not an irresponsible kidult fecktard!

I'm thankful I'm having Saturday morning off to get my hair cut - but recognise that I'll be scraping my hair back into a greasy ponytail within a week Grin

PP that was a lovely thankful. I bet LO being there really helped the family - as VQ said - death makes new life seem so much more precious and new lives help put bereavement into context.

ValiumQueen · 21/02/2013 17:38

I am thankful that I survived my first bus ride for a long long time, and did not end up in Inverness. Nothing against that city, obviously.
