Not too bad cheers faffin and others! Journey down was a bit grim- the M25 in particular- but the visit was great. Got to see Auntie, Uncle, and very elderly Gran, all of whom delighted in DS- he the only GC/great GC/etc etc and so much adored.
He had a wonderful time as my Aunt and Uncle have a brilliant garden, so he had a great time waddling and wobbling around.

Sorry to hear about the prawn incident janey, not fun at all for you or monkey, and ditto QoC.

Glad you're sounding cheerful bar the coughing and early wake up figgy, sounds like it's all turning out well for you and DC-to-be-no.2 Grin We're the same here mopsy, half 5 wake ups have been the order of the day for the past few weeks, with a few half 6, uuuuuuuuuuuurgh.

Have a good week at work/with DCs/in generaly everyone!

Yay for Seven and bea getting home, really hope you avoid the sickness. If you're BFing at all that will help to protect her and if not just avoid for as long as you can (try to minimise close contact for 48 hours once they have stopped puking if you can)

I am v cheesed off as all my DIY has been injuryless...and then I squashed my little finger in the front door when it blew shut as we were readying to go out to a local park. Aaargh ouchy ouch. It's not bust but the nail is all bruised and it's very unhappy (reaches for painkillers) just annoyed really as I hate maiming myself!

Well we survived camping. It was lovely and sunny and pretty hot all weekend. Our journey there and back was pretty good, no real hold ups. The site was great fun, loads to do but oh so noisy. We seemed to be the only parents who put our kids to bed in the evening! They slept ok really and were really busy all day but DH and I are pretty knackered. Camping with a 16mth and a 4 year old leaves no time for relaxing sadly.

Glad you are home seven

Welcome home Beatrice! And good luck avoiding illness!
Jiggle - sounds positive!
We're away this weekend - just 2 nights in a posh BnB in Wales - so I hope we come back having had a good time.
Xiao - I've been doing my own version of the fasting diet. Or the Elizabeth Hurley version. (I think it was her who reputedly only ate one meal a day?) anyway, mon - thurs I only have dinner (and coffee!), fri - I have a tendency to have a snack with Ali in the afternoon, then dinner. Sat/Sunday I eat what I want. I know it's probably a bit silly, but I've lost weight and feel great. Grin
DH's mum n dad are doing the 5:2 diet and are reporting great success.
You must excuse me now, gotta put the veggies in the oven, I'm bloody starving!

Yay for seven & bea for getting home.

jiggle glad you head a good camping holiday.

Home for us tomorrow. However, be glad as not been a lot of relaxing or fun due to Darcie's appalling attitude Sad

In the meantime I've hurt my right foot. Thought I broke it when I kicked the bed in frustration Think it's just sprained and swollen and now the dry skin has cracked and split part of my foot Sad hey ho.. catch up UK side.

So glad you're home Seven, hope Bea hasn't caught the other DC's sickness & is a good weight next time she's weighed, sounds likes she's coming on in leaps & bounds with her feeding!

figgy, I feel like I can say CONGRATULATIONS!! Grin

aethel, random finger injury sounds crap/painful!

Oi, congrats on the weightloss, enjoy your weekend away, hope it's healing & relaxing...are you taking BOi with you?

We're having a late wedding anniversary weekend away, DS is going to stay with the PIL's & we're off to a hotel room, although given my condition it'll be more swaying on the loo than swinging from a chandelier, I've just started getting morning sickness (first time ever, 26 feckkin weeks).

Queen, sorry to hear your holiday hasn't been as great as can be, have you gone to Dr's out there or will you wait until you get home?

at everyone else.

So sorry to hear about the morning sickness GBT, that sucks! And how random- are you sure it's not a bug of some sort?

And how's your finger aethel, it sounded painful?

We've de-cluttered and scrubbed the house to the extreme, DP's still doing the kitchen as we've got the first valuation tomorrow. I've had an early start this morning and will the next two, mainly down to some senior recruiting I have been lumbered with am doing.

Seven, have you got any pics of Bea?

Welcome home Bea and Seven xx

Things have settled down at school but Air is still staying away from.Stampyboy. He came home.with two cuts on his wrist today from falling off a climbing crate at school and now has a temp.

Hope has spots and a temp i dont think its hives just spots so im on pox watch with her but hoping its viral as we have a Wedding to go to on Friday.

On the weekend i sanded, painted the fence and planted flowers and did.hanging baskets, ordered the stuff we need for camping and declared war on the ants in the garden. Air.got sun burnt on his neck and they both got new wellies and Hope has a tantrum if i take them off her or she is not allowed in the garden.

Air can now write his name and Hope can say:
Mummy
Daddy
Baby
Dolly
Birdy
Cat
Dog
More
Book
Boob
Air
Mine
Eye
Hair
Nose

She will not stop talking, so different from air at this age.

Her fav books are
Dear Santa (like dear zoo but xmas one)
Dear zoo
Old macdonald had a farm a noisy book
Monkey puzzle
Superworm
The kindest giant in town
Captain buckle boots and the naughty step
Thats not my pony, monkey, dragon and fairy touchy feely books
Any book with animals in and me making funny sounds.

Minimopsy has loads of fab books. Favourites include books by Oliver Jeffers (eg 'Up and Down', 'The Huey's in The New Jumper), the Meg and Mog books, Judith Kerr books (eg 'Mog, The Forgetful Cat', 'The Tiger Who Came To Tea'), Plop the owl books, Chris Haugton's books ('Oh No, George', 'A Bit Lost'), all of the Rod Campbell lift the flap books ('Dear Zoo', 'Oh Dear' etc.), Rebecca Cobb's 'Lunchtime', The Hungry Caterpillar, any of the 'That's Not My ...' books. Her fave at the most is Helen Stephens 'How To Hide A Lion'. She already knows some stories well enough to react in the appropriate places eg screaming when the mother sees the lion in the last book I mentioned or roaring like the lion. Very sweet!

Thanks all. DD1 was last sick on Tuesday night, DS was fine after Monday night but then sick again last night. DH now has D&V but me and DD2 are still fine thankfully.

Sorry about your foot and rubbish holiday queen.

gary can't believe you're already 26 weeks! Sympathies on the sickness, I had it sporadically right up until the end.

Must go, I'm wrangling all 3 as well as housework while DH is upstairs feeling sorry for himself.

Report
QueenofClean · 09/05/2013 18:50

Seven, hope you & DD2 stay clear of the D&V.

Gary - what an annoyance MS starting at 23 weeks! Hope it doesn't last to long.

We are UK side. DD1 was put to bed soon as she got in :( horrible child. DD2 is in process of being put to bed. DH in bath after being a superstar of unpacking, loading the washing machine and making dinner. So I can relax and de-stress after a very stressful holiday :(

Whilst the girls are at nursery/school tomorrow, DH & I are going to see the new Star Trek movie Grin

Once I've got DD2 to bed I'm going to have a soak in bath and then early nite as I'm pooped. Oi I don't know how you do all this flying..I'm shattered. Esp after the dodgy landing we had, we suddenly dropped a little bit in the sky over Gatwick think my stomach is still there

Report
NorthernChinchilla · 09/05/2013 20:05

Oh no QoC, sorry the holiday was stressful! Was it full on stress all the time, or just intermittent DC issues? And so jealous of you seeing the Star Trek movie, we really want to- we could splash out on a babysitter and see it for DP's birthday perhaps...hmm.... Grin

Sounds like a lovely weekend air, really good to get the planting done. And I agree, ant must die. Especially the flying ones

Had the first estate agent round, up there with the flying ants in my book. Wouldn't tell us the fees they charge "let's discuss that when we agree terms" and tried to convince me that we didn't need the two other valuations Hmm

Big smile of the day was when DP was getting DS ready for bed, and a Corgi car fell out of DS's dungarees- he'd secreted it in there from nursery Grin! Have to return it tomorrow...

Happy birthday kat!!

Northern that estate agent sounds like they've just lost your business...

air wow, I'm impressed with your garden work. Our garden is succumbing to benign neglect. We need to get a table and chairs for out there but the turn the weather has taken has put that firmly on the back burner for now.

Queen so sorry to hear your holiday was stressful Sad hopefully there were some great moments amongst the gloom? I hope your foot is feeling better too.

seven you really are superwoman, I am in awe! Brand new baby, just home from the hospital, and wrangling three kids and housework...can you call a family member or friend for support?? Surely this is absolutely an emergency!

aethel came over today and I made spicy lentil soup for lunch. When her DS demanded a taste he made the funniest face - scrunched up his eyes and nose and uttered a little moan of misery - and was cooled down with a spoonful of plain yoghurt. Cutest thing ever.

My DS took almost two hours to go to sleep tonight - it just shows how good he is these days compared to how it used to be. But 2 hours of going in, soothing, going out, hysteria and standing up bouncing up and down in fury, waiting 2/5/10 mins, going in, soothing...repeat...repeat... ahhh finally, the gentle snores of a snotty toddler.

Report
Xiaoxiong · 09/05/2013 21:38

(When I say "it shows just how good he is" I mean because we've had 3-4 months now of just putting him down into his cot awake, saying night night to all his teddies, and then he falls asleep without a fuss. Tonight was back to the bad old days!)

Ooh sciatica. I forgot how annoying and painful this was first time round, ugh.

Oh and I forgot one funny story. DS was wearing a long sleeved vest today with cars on it and kept pointing to his arms and belly and saying "car, car!" all day. When it was time to get in the bath this evening he wouldn't let me take it off, and when I did wrestle it off him and plonk him in the bath he had a fit standing up in the bath and bellowing "caaaaaaars!!!". Holding it where he could see it was not sufficient, he had to actually dunk his vest and swish it around in the bathwater before he calmed down. Weird child Hmm

Morning ladies have gone quiet last few days as am MCing by the looks of things. am only 7wks so it's early and have been told will have to wait it out and go to EPU start of next week. So after all the deliberations and stress after finding out I'm pg (which probably didnt help) looks like it was for nothing Hmm am obviously sad it's happening no1 should go through this but hadn't bonded/become excited about the pg yet anyway so am feeling "ok".

May has been pretty crappy so far I think I might go bed until June.

Have a nice day everyone

sorry you had hassle with DD1 on hols queenie, at least you are home now and maybe it will improve when back
In your routine?

Sorry the holiday didn't go as planned queen. Enjoy your film

Glad there wasn't a break aethel and that the finger is on the mend

Belated happy birthday Kat

Poor DS has a very sore teethy bum at the moment. Have had to bring out the big yellow guns for that one!

We had a meeting with the architect and builder last night. They're going to rig me up a temporary kitchen, incl washing machine, in the dining room Smile. Build will take 10-12 weeks so I'm very relieved about that. I don't know how you coped doing your kitchen up when DD was a newborn jiggle. Now for me and DH to argue make lots of decisions about the kitchen, appliances, furniture, windows, floor etc. etc.

Belated Happy Birthday Kat!! Hope you have a lovely weekend!

Aethel Envy I would love a secret room, my best friend at school had crawlspace in her attic (bedroom! lucky cow!) and I was so jealous!
Hope you have a lovely night out on Sat!

Hope you & DH have had a lovely day Queen!

for DS Faffin. Glad it went well with architect & builder, enjoy arguing with DH!

Northen Hmm sorry to hear your 1st estate agent sounded like a typical one, hope the next two are better!

Going for a late (was last weekend) Wedding Anniversary meal/night out with DH tomorrow, DS is staying with PIL and then on Sunday we're taking him to a safari park for the first time!
Still only saying mama, dada, egg & yummy here...DH is starting to worry,
