Oh and Gary, just realised I never said congrats on a boy. V exciting. Name pondering can start in earnest...

seven, hope you get a better night tonight.

Hello everyone else. On phone and too much of a lazy arse to scroll down so only responding to what I can remember off the top of my head. Sorry Blush

Aethelfleda · 01/04/2013 21:09

Hi janey, who have you got? dS? dD? triplets??

Wish us luck me hearties, tomorrow we are braving Beckenscot, partially thanks to DD1's Enid Blyton obsession....

Hi janey, welcome! Pls tell us about your LO!
Today's park life was a bit disappointing. No real wildlife, sub-standard swingage, and bitterly cold! But it was super-efficient in blowing away any cobwebs.
Gary, may I suggest Alistair as a possible name? I haven't come across another little Alistair yet,so it ain't common. I have had no regrets. It shortens nicely to Ali. He'll be first in the register. But no one knows how to spell it. Grin
QoC - hope sky is ok.
I really really hope BOi sleeps tonight. I need some zzzz's!
Night all! X

janey223 · 01/04/2013 23:25

I have a DS, but he's more of a DM (monkey)!!

He's got allergies, eczema and catches any cold around then gets an infection but he still jumps around like a crazy thing unless he's really ill so he can extra exhaust mummy at night with poorlyness! People never realise he's so young because he's bloody huge (99th eeek, thank god he walked early).

We've been co sleeping for ages because the monster outgrew his cot (banging his head moving about constantly and getting upset) and was always trying to climb out but last night he slept all night in his grown up bed :D proud

He's ultra clingy, I can barely move and he won't go with anyone, but so independent and won't let me do anything for him!

I've had a tough 2 years, single mummy and had very bad PND, I'm ok most of the time now but get very lonely and when I'm really down I end up mardy with DM and getting even more sad for being a horrid mummy. Hope ill stop the cycle of it when I get back on antids once he's consistently in his own bed.

Hola! Welcome:o

Someone went into my throat and sandblasted it while I wad asleep. Bastards! Right. Coffee and leftover egg for breakfast I think!

iZombie · 02/04/2013 08:55

Bacon you say Aethel? Sounds divine. Swap you half an Easter egg? Add cheese into the deal and you can have a whole one:o

QueenofClean · 02/04/2013 09:06

Welcome Janey.

iZombie hope your sore throat buggers off soon!

Sky slept well so hoping I can get some good fluids into her when she wakes so she can go to nursery.

Peaceful day here as Darcie is with nanny.

QueenofClean · 02/04/2013 09:06
AnAirOfHope · 02/04/2013 12:35

Elbows Queenie for a bacon buttie and coffee.

I hope sky is feeling better.

Welcome Jane :)

I also am recovering from PND and im on steraline.

BJR hope things are going better for you ((hugs))

Air is off school now for two weeks and i have no idea what to do with him, half term is hard!

iZombie · 02/04/2013 12:52

Mine go back on Monday, I love them but I am done now >_

Xiaoxiong · 02/04/2013 13:45

Hello, welcome janey! feel your pain on the huge DS banging his head on his cot. Mine has been sleeping for the last 6 months either with us or in his travel cot with the soft mesh sides. We're always here, pop in anytime you want a natter Smile

queen I hope sky is doing ok, how scary! And happy belated birthday to Darcie.

figgy so frustrating!! Our BJCM fit even in our ford ka (upright) but we did have to take the parcel shelf off.

zombie DH and DS have the same evil sore throat and cough - I've been plying them with honey, lemon and grated ginger in hot water so I will add that to your Brew

Had my 12 week scan today and in fact I'm 13+1, baby (singular) has all arms and legs present and correct and EDD 7 October. DS came along to the scan and kept pointing at the screen saying "baby two, baby two!" Grin

He's also learned how to say bumblebee: "bundabee"

Figgygal · 02/04/2013 14:27

Janey welcome i have a 98th centile monster!! or i did he has slimmed down to 91st now, we are a very nice bunch - even if i do say so myself.

Xiao am impressed with DS at the scan DS basically snorted and growled his way across the weekend still not saying much though he said uh-oh when he dropped something the other day. Thank god for the BJCM you just press a button and the wheel comes off then it fits in the boot.....my friend is having a baby at the moment and i have recommended it to them i love that pushchair if i ever have another baby am getting the double one even if it is the size of a tank ....i spoke to a lady with one and she said it is no bigger than a wheelchair and she has never had problems with it.

how did it go at the weekend BJR?

OiMissus · 02/04/2013 20:08

Sorry to hear about your PND, janey, and about your struggles. I hope you can find some affinity/support/smiles on this thread.
Congrats on DC2 having the requisite number of limbs xiao! Tis always good to hear. Smile
BOi slept through last night to our absolute surprise. We don't expect the same tonight as he slept for 2.5hrs this afternoon at the cm's. Hmm He is currently battling sleep as I write.

Aethelfleda · 02/04/2013 20:15

Aww, bundabees!! (my neice used to love the sirens of "ambliences"...)
No such words at this end, just an endless string of babbling pseudoconversation (punctuated by frequent Sid-James-esque dirty laughing). And he rather disturbingly seems to be developing an attatchment to Peppa Pig as well as Upsy Daisy. I think I need to have a chat about the perils of polyamorous relationships....

Hope you're OK BJR....

Welcome janey

Thinking of you BJR

Good luck to Air, Zombie and anyone else struggling with school holiday entertainment. I find it hard too, and mine don't even go to school yet. All their usual activities stop during school holidays, and everywhere else we might go like the park or soft play, are really busy!

Congrats on a good 12 week scan xiao. And on the bundabee, that is incredibly cute. DD randomly said cardigan (gardiga) as one of her earliest words, which amused us no end.

DS is communicating pretty well now. Twice today he did a poo, then said poo and wafted his hand in front of his nose, then opened the toilet door and tried to climb up onto the loo. He's seen DD say poo and then climb on the toilet so many times, and loves to copy her in everything she does. She currently likes listing the days of the week, and playing hide and seek and counting to ten. DS says random sounds but copies the speech pattern / voice intonation as if he's saying the same things. It's so funny Grin

NorthernChinchilla · 02/04/2013 21:53

Hello Janey, lovely to have someone join in at whatever stage Smile And we are always here covering most topics from snot/poo/vom to work and relationship ishoos and through to Star Trek.... Wink

Glad Sky seems to be a bit better QoC, and hope you got some fluids down her. I'm sure she'll perk up no end once she does start drinking, and certainly after a good night's sleep.

Being besieged by your own children in the holidays must be tough! I find it can be hard going at the weekends, although that's mainly because carrying round the stubborn little tub monster darling child does my back in and it's ibuprofen ahoy.

How lovely Xiao, and being a week on! I've just spoken to my friend, and I guessed right, she's pregnant with a due date at the end of October. As I have just shoved nudged her towards the Mumsnet forums/baby groups you will probably end up chatting with her.

I shall lurk and see if she is on there...!

SevenReasonsToSmile · 02/04/2013 22:06

Hi janey.

Great news on the scan xiao, how exciting!

queen how has Sky been today?

We had a letter put through the door today from next door moaning that they can hear our stair gate starting as early as 6am then on and off until 7pm Hmm. It really isn't that loud (honest!), I'm quite tempted to send one back saying we're entitled to make non-excessive noise within daytime hours, and its a semi, we don't complain about their screaming grandchildren or the fact we can hear them using the toilet Angry.

Anyway, tomorrow is my birthday so we're going shopping to find me a present.

thekatsatonthematt · 02/04/2013 22:31

Seven Shock seriously? The stairgate? What a weird thing to moan about.

Janey Hi, personally I lurk multiple times a day and post about every 6 weeks, promising to do better and failing every time. So just don't show me up [buwink]

Congrats Xiao

Get well vibes to Sky hope she's taking some fluids today.

As always I obviously have loads to catch up on, but I'm tired and I'm at work tomorrow and DS felt that 4am was a totally reasonable time to get up this morning.....so all about me instead Grin

20 week scan feels like it was ages ago (22+5 now), all ok, we didn't find out although the entire side of DH's family has money on it being another boy (DH has 3 brothers, 1 sister. Nephews 6, nieces 2. Great Nephews 5, Great nieces 2) Genuinely not bothered. Found our short list for names for DS and don't really like any of them now (I'm so fickle!) so back to the drawing board I guess.

Have been put on my own route at work. It's quite long, but terrace streets so feels like I empty the bag quickly. Still using the bag rather than the trolly 'cos I'm mental This may need to change soon!

I am suddenly huge. Mum said I looked about 6 months pregnant on Easter Sunday. Pointed out I nearly am!! Then cheered myself up immensly by weighing myself on her scales. Since I stopped going to WW (not sure how long ago but Jan or Feb) I've put on 3lb. I love this side effect of being a postie Grin. So I'm obviously eating all of DS's easter eggs. Only because I'm worried about his teeth Wink

Usually I'd sign off by promising to post again tomorrow, but this evening I'll be all grown-up and just promise to keep reading.

By the way, anyone have a fabulous flapjack recipe they'd like to share?

GaryBuseysTeeth · 02/04/2013 23:24

Welcome Janey, well done DM for moving to his big bed!
Hope things get easier for you soon. x

kat, no flapjack recipe here but hope you find one soon, mmmm flapjacks.
[buenvy] at your minimal weight gain, I seem to balloon at the start then at the end, I'm 21+3 today & have put on just over a stone (although it's all bump n boobs)...have had to slow down my workouts as pelvic girdle pain has started to take affect.

seven, what arseholes! I get how irritating some noises can be, but a stairgate?!
Now if you had a stargate I could understand their annoyance....

Xiao, congrats on the scan! and the bundabees!
DS said 'egg' proudly yesterday (whilst holding one), but aside from that it's all physical stuff over here (jumping & doing what looks like a raindance).

Oi, I love Alistair, but we do know a few small ones with the name, it's either that or Fin/Finlay/Findley etc for the boys around here atm, with the girls you can't swing a cat without hitting an Elle/Ellie/Elli-mae, 4 of 'em at our softplay.
DH & I have very different tastes, I like slight poncy traditional names (if we ever have a girl I'd want Cordelia) whereas he likes simple 70s-80s names (Peter, Jason, Emily).

to air, aethel & zombie.
Queenie, hope DD2 is on the mend & back to herself asap.

OiMissus · 03/04/2013 08:19

Have you seen this on mumsnet? I am fuming about how it blatently misrepresents the UK's maternity rights. Fuming. I don't know who the Debt Advisory centre are, but I'm going to hunt them down and stick pins in their eyes. God help anyone who reads this who may be considering if they can afford to get pg! They could be responsible for really f*ing up people's finances. ...I suppose they are doing it to ensure they keep themselves in work... Grrrrrrrr!

OiMissus · 03/04/2013 08:37

When i arrived at work, the sun was shining and Beyonce was being crazy in love on the radio. I turned it up full blast as I sat in the car park applying my make up. I then shook my booty into work, got a coffee, and then saw this article.... Day ruined! I'm still fuming! I've commented to the Debt Advisory thing on their website, and I've posted my disgust on my facebook page, but it's not enough.
I need to go back to the carpark and start again!

Xiaoxiong · 03/04/2013 11:26

Happy birthday seven! What names are you considering, I love a baby name chinwag. Same goes for you gary - we are rewatching Buffy and Cordelia is definitely a great name Wink I can of course recommend DS's name, everyone loves it Grin For DC2, DH is set on Morwenna for a girl. A boy is more difficult - the other names on the shortlist for last time were Magnus and Titus but they don't feel right for a second child.

Oi WTAF, that's terrible!!! Is there a thread about this to bring it to MNHQ's attention? Maybe in site stuff? By posting it on their site MN could appear to be endorsing this! 52 weeks on up to 90% pay...

gary I love the rain dancing, so funny! Is it like a rhythmic bobbing/squatting to music?

kat no flapjack recipes (not a massive fan) but some great oatmeal cookies if you're interested. And start using that trolley!! 22 weeks was when my sciatica kicked in last time so that's when I am planning to start taking it easy this time Smile

faffin gardiga is almost cuter. I'm imagining the waving of hand under nose like a louche grande horizontale, perhaps with a silk hankie and smelling salts...

figgy I will definitely look at the BJCM double but DH dubious about side by side prams...he thinks they are huge but he's never actually investigated.

QueenofClean · 03/04/2013 12:46

Happy Birthday Seven hope your being spoilt Smile

Oi that Debt article is shockingly inaccurate!

DD2 is seeming better in herself however, still not drinking a lot. Woke to a dry nappy this morning and another dry one at nursery too even tho we are trying to persuade her to drink :( will call the GP and get her in this afternoon for another opinion - I think she needs IV fluids and so do my colleagues at work but hospital and I expect GP will be reluctant to do so :(

janey223 · 03/04/2013 13:58

Thanks for the welcomes :)

Queen had same problem with DM, totally refused to take him in even with 24hr+ of no wet nappies incase he infected other children!

DM has leant to open doors in the past couple of days - nightmare!! I'm visiting my dad so today we're off to clarks factory shop to see if we can get him new shoes slightly cheaper.
