How's P today? I hope the pox are easing.

Have to share my exciting moment! DH is asleep and no one else will be impressed so you ladies will have to humour me! L just came through to room I'm in and said 'poo', and really had just done a poo! Hooray!

Anyone else had a landmark moment this weekend ;) ?

MummyDuckAndDuckling · 26/05/2013 17:19

Yay! Go L!!! Grin

Poor P Sad, the pox are nasty!!! I'm sure I read that some piriton helps with the itching

MrsHende · 26/05/2013 19:44

Pride comes before a fall...

After being so pleased with Miss L, this evening she decided she didn't want a bath and cried and coughed until she was sick. Nice.

PenelopeLane · 27/05/2013 11:10

Hope P is OK Cheshire!

Mrs I am impressed! And no positive landmarks here this weekend apart from an especially dramatic tantrum when I didn't give him tinned peaches for dinner. Silly me didn't realise he could see them in the cupboard so knew I was lying when I said they'd all gone. Blush Now I just hope his faith isn't lost in me forever.

Another landmark was me figuring out how to split the computer screen so he can watch Wiggles on one side while I do important internet things mn on the other. Grin Bad parent!

I am feeling very hormonal and sick today as well as uncomfortable, and almost lost all perspective when I mentioned to my Mum that I was sick and may take tomorrow off work, and she said if I'm free could I babysit my sisters dc for a while? To be fair, my sister could do with the help, and I don't think Mum was listening properly, but it wasn't the sympathy I was after!

Engelsemama · 27/05/2013 12:10

Hi everyone, have been AWOL the last few weeks. Been lurking a bit but only a bit ? so am hopelessly behind on the thread.

DH finally went to GP today re: hair loss/extreme tiredness/sleeping problems etc. He asked me to go with him for moral support and doctor was really supportive. DH doesn?t see any of this as depression linked though...he thinks something else is causing it. Well, at least we?re back on the radar.

Had my 10k race yesterday. Saturday ? sunny. Today ? beautiful. Yesterday ? rain, rain, rain! Typical! Still, better than last year which was too hot to run, and managed a personal best (though still not quite under 1 hour?next year!).

M is still a little rascal ? into everything and driving me nuts today. He wants my attention all the time except when he?s eating Grin Tried taking him out in the garden to let off some steam yesterday and he started splashing around in the water that had collected on the slide and got soaked and today he was eating stones. He?s trying with words ? we?ve had bird (or rather derd) and coat in the last 2 days.

Hope everyone?s well (feel better soon Pen )

ClimbingPenguin · 27/05/2013 13:02

A few tired people on here, maybe we'll all get a full nights sleep

OP posts:
CheshireDing · 27/05/2013 13:32

Yey to L and her poo MrsH Grin

Strawbs and Mummy told DH what you both said and he said "oh yes I know" except he decided not to go and buy any stuff until Bank Holiday Monday when the chemist didn't open until 11am and I have been in her cot all night as she can't sleep. I am VERY tired and she looks a mess, she has spots in his mouth and in her ears and hair too, yesterday she didn't look too bad she only had them on her back and tummy. Well today she looks awful :(

She definitely seems happier in the bath Strawbs so has had another one this morning with all the necessary creams in.

Pene was your response printable to your Mum? Grin

Well done on the run Engels

LittlePebble · 28/05/2013 07:23

Morning all.

Cheshire hope P is a bit better this morning poor little mite.

Engels congratulations on the marathon and on getting DH to the doctors. Hope it's the start of him getting some help and getting better.

Pen hope you're feeling better? And penguin hope you got some sleep?

MrsH made me chuckle about L saying poo. E stood in bathroom and said wee wee while peeing all over his towel the other day but he refuses to acknowledge that he ever does a poo.

Mummy how's the rest of the holiday? Have to admit I'm very Envy

monkeybubbles · 28/05/2013 18:48

Hi all,
I haven't been on here in ages, it's incredible to see that you've all managed to keep up! I just came on to join a new group...babies due in January 2014! How about everyone else? Do lots of the October 2011 babies have little siblings already?

MummyDuckAndDuckling · 28/05/2013 19:49

Congratulations monkeybubbles! I'm having trouble working out who you are.. Have you nc since last here?
Little pebble, raining today! I'm prob more jealous of your weather now!! Grin

CheshireDing · 28/05/2013 21:01

Sorry Strawbs meant to say yes I have had Pox previously (luckily). DH says you can have a jab these days though too.

I think Monkey might be the Earth Mother (as per Sassys description) Grin

Just had NT scan today, measurements all look okay, just waiting for the collective results combined with the blood tests now. With the illness and busyness at the moment I wonder how the poor thing is managing in there - it was very active on screen!

Personally I am Envy of Pebbles weather/location :(

Have you had your scan Ips ?

TallyBear · 28/05/2013 21:57

Oops, fell off thread...

Loving all the new words... go babies!

Seb's obsessed with his red wellies at the moment, likes to wear them all the time even in the house. Grin He knows where they are kept in the shoe cupboard and gets them out and tries to put them on himself...so cute.

strawberrypenguin · 29/05/2013 06:47

That's good chesh at least you don't have to worry about getting it to. How is P today? Good news about NT scan too.

eng that's great that you got DH to the doctors

tally Grin at S and his wellies v cute!

PenelopeLane · 29/05/2013 10:20

Tally we have a wellies fan here as well! He apparently even tried to give them to his best friend at creche. Cute.

Feeling much better thanks ladies for the nice replies up thread Smile. I finally admitted that I am actually sick, called in sick at work on a day A was in nursery, and slept till noon. It really helped!

Our weather is terrible - hail, freezing cold and about 4 degrees outside. Brrrr. Winter sucks. Engels you'll have to pack some woollies for your trip ..

Cheshire glad the scan went well!

ipswichwitch · 29/05/2013 22:34

No scan yet chesh, I'm 11 weeks according to the MW and still waiting for the scan appt. will ring them if it hasn't come by Friday. Hope P is on the mend and glad to hear the scan was all good. They said I'll probably get mine at 13 weeks as I want all the tests done. We're not wanting to know what we're having (I forget who asked!), we both like surprises!

Glad the sick day helped pen, sometimes helps just to give in and have a duvet day :)

Wish I could get N to wear his wellies tally. Took blooming ages to find a pair in size 3 an he won't entertain them. Keeps trying to put them on my feet!

LittlePebble · 29/05/2013 22:51

Cheshire Grin for scan and a lovely bean. Did I make you jealous with the boat photos of fb? Wink

Ipswitch yay 11 weeks.

Tally/ Engels we have another welly lover but E likes to wait until he's stood ankle deep in the sea/ a muddy puddle before flinging one off. (He's in his second pair of wellies - a size 7!!!!)

Pen glad you took some time off.
No sympathy re: the weather it's still freezing here and it's nearly summer.

Engelsemama · 01/06/2013 19:15

Oops - m just pooed in the bath!

strawberrypenguin · 01/06/2013 19:36

Grin eng not had bath poo here yet!

W seems to have developed some night time separation anxiety from somewhere the last week he's been waking up in the night crying and just wanting company and I've had to sit next to his cot until he falls asleep at bedtime. We've ordered him a nightlight for when he wakes at night any other suggestions?

CheshireDing · 01/06/2013 20:43

Grin at the bath poo Engels. P has trumps in the bath (and everywhere else). Conversation goes like this:-

Me - Have you just trumped?
P - Yes
P & Me - Hysterically laughter, followed by another trump. I think she can force them now !

Pene agree with others, sometimes you just need to give in and catch up and take time off work. Yesterday a woman who sits 1 person away from me at work was having a heart attack in the office and still tried to carry on with her work Hmm. She clearly came back to work too soon after previously being off with heart issues.

Pebble SIZE 7 !!! Was it your boat, it looked a lovely day.

Strawbs P has fairy lights as her room was very dark otherwise, a night light should work fine though (and a teddy) I would have thought.

Cute with the wellies Tally, they are funny aren't they Smile

Engelsemama · 03/06/2013 07:24

This last week M has been having sleeping probs as well strawb

Either he has trouble getting to sleep (and screams his head off). usually if we've been out in the garden later/after dinner. I think it's too much stiulation for him and he still really needs the 'quiet' time inside before bed.

He's also woken up crying 2 nights. One night he ended up with us (whihc was no good as meant that we only got 5 hours sleep) and the other night DH wrnt and sat in the chair in his room, told him to go to sleep/lay down and after 15 mins M was back asleep. I do think a night light might be a good idea. M has started shouting/groaning early in the morning because he wakes up and wants company. This morning he shrieked just after DH's alarm went off (I'm home today). I told him to open M's curtains and then he was quite happy and gave me another hour sleep before he started shouting, "Hello? Mama? Hello!"

I overrode DH and got M one of those Little Life backpacks with reins. Haven't used it yet but, as I've been trying to convince DH, we don't have to use the reins - can just use it as a backpack - but it's nice to know we have the option, especially when we go on holiday.

Managed to get sunburnt yesterday in the garden for the first time in years Blush The weather has been so shite I was expecting to burn!

PenelopeLane · 03/06/2013 08:32

No advice on the sleeping here, just wanted to say we have exactly the same! A is so clingy and sad at night, and the choice seems to be have him with us (so being uncomfy) or staying up for ages to calm him (which means being so tired). We have found that it's a bit better when DH settles him not me though which is terribly convenient in terms of me wanting to sleep Grin

Engels oh no poo in the bath! We had that once about a year ago. The worst part was having to clean the bath toys!

Cheshire I hope that woman in your work with heart issues has a rest eventually!

PenelopeLane · 03/06/2013 08:34

Oh and we have one of those backpacks with reigns and use it without shame Grin

ClimbingPenguin · 03/06/2013 19:40

DS is sleeping alright atm but I think I deserve a bit of good time with his sleep history

OP posts:
ipswichwitch · 03/06/2013 19:51

I can't suggest anything helpful sp for the sleep thing. N is waking through the night and wanting his hand held til he goes back to sleep. He does have a night light too. We're feeling a bit Envy at the min as we know 2 people with newborns who have told us they're sleeping through (one even said they're obviously doing something right! Oh how I laughed!!)

We use reins as N has very different ideas on direction when we're walking (usually taking off after the nearest dog, car, random child, interesting bit of rubbish!) , and he really doesn't like to hold hands for very long. There's usually a few tears while we get them on but he's fine once he can get walking again :)

ipswichwitch · 03/06/2013 19:52

Oh and the scan is next tues. I'm a bit scared really but trying not to think too much about it. Still feeling lousy though, so hope it's all good.
