I wish Richard Littleprick would come on here snuffling for ideas. Then I could enjoy myself.

Kyzordz · 18/02/2013 21:30

Had a grumpy boy today so not had time to post. Thankfully he's still into sleeping at night so here I am! Bet I don't remember everyone but...

Well done kirrin

Glad L has seemed a bit better and is gaining weight blonder

erm... Congrats on your cousins triplets garden

Good news for car sale detective

pr I'm thinking of weaning in the same kind of way as you've described but I don't know when, exactly, just was going to start with tastes of puréed root veg and fruits at some point, not yet as he is only 15 weeks. Do you literally purée the one thing and feed a tiny bit of it or do you add their milk at first? Internet seems to argue with itself, can't imagine say carrot and aptamil being too nice but hey ho!

LO slept from 8:30pm-6:20am and had fed at 6:45 which makes almost 12 hours between feeds! Surely he's still too young to do this? I just feel like he is and if he cuts out that last bottle I give him at 10:30 he'll be on a good chunk less of milk each day. I always want to try leaving him to sleep but always worry it means he's not getting enough then in the day. He hasn't been weighed for 5 weeks but I'm getting him weighed tomorrow so will see what he's meant to average formula wise. He was 13lb 6 at 10 weeks, the kids (siblings) have all had fun guessing what he will be tomorrow!

Hope everyone sleeps well tonight :)

YellowWellies · 18/02/2013 21:32

Hello all. Sorry to those with poorly wee ones. MM hope the antibiotics help. Detective hope the wee man's cough and up chucks bugger off asap. pass and VQ hope the colds and mucus feck off too.

Ta for the advice on the house. 3 out of 4 of the bedrooms are big enough for 2 beds (2 of them are big enough for 2 double beds!) so kids can share when wee - and then when bigger I'm quite happy to be on a different floor! The layout was quite a selling point for us bizarrely - we really need one downstairs bed and bath for the in laws as DFIL has Parkinson's and won't be mobile for much longer Sad Second viewing went well - they're willing to leave the 7 burner double oven range cooker (am so easily swung) and other things we wanted to check were all as we'd hoped - so we've put an offer in. We should find out tomorrow Confused

PetiteRaleuse · 18/02/2013 21:34

Anyone watching the penguin thing? I'm sobbing. Bastard hormones.

Kyz as I'm weaning early am not too fussed if she likes it or not, so won't be adding milk. If she doesn't like it I'll try something else and after 6 months proper milk can be used. Can't be faffed with losing precious expensive formula milk in food which might be chucked out.

PetiteRaleuse · 18/02/2013 21:35

Surely the great thing about weaning is that it isn't milk. But I say that as a milk hater...

MissMummy1 · 18/02/2013 21:36

Fingers crossed for you YW! The dishwasher and range cooker were the selling point for me with this house Blush (and the world heritage site lighting feature in the back garden....) .We won't make baby massage tomorrow. I don't have the car and tbh don't want to irritate M's skin at the moment. She is absolutely fine in herself but it looks so sore and angry Sad . I'm still feeling a bit crap too so don't want to pass on anything to J or your DSis' littlies.

Yay for car sales detective ! Was that from your gumtree ad? Wink

Titsalinabumsquash · 18/02/2013 21:37

Evening everyone, things are better here than they were last week thanks for all your kind words. Smile

J is cutting 2 teeth! Shock the bottom front two are sitting just under the gum but I can feel them, he's a dribble monster, soaking right through his clothes and gnawing at anything he can get to his mouth.

I need to see the dr soon, my acne that suddenly erupted when I fell pregnant is still there, I've also had a very red, sore eye lid since I was pregnant and it's still hurting, pharmacist insisted I make an appointment with a GP as an emergency because apparently what ever the skin problem on my face may have infected my eye and I might be risking my sight?! .... I only wanted some cream or something for it! So anyway I'll be going to the drs tomorrow I guess. Confused

TheDetective · 18/02/2013 21:37

Oh god yes PR. I made DP turn it over. To embarrassing bodies. Just in time to see a sliced up knob. Hmm

DP laughed at me, that I can not watch a dead baby penguin, but I can watch a human sliced up.

Too right!!

I'm in tears too!

TheDetective · 18/02/2013 21:40

I don't know MM I actually forgot to ask them! D'oh!

I'm now looking for my new car. We will wait til October for that though!

Looking at Astras. Or possibly Hyundai i30's.

Decisions decisions!

YellowWellies · 18/02/2013 21:41

Kirrin congrats! Well done Mrs!

Kyzords Jonas regularly does 10+ hours at night now between feeds (saying this will of course curse us back to sleep regression hell Hmm ) and he's only a dinky 25th centile chap - I asked his reflux dietician if this was OK (he's only 12lb at 17 weeks) and she was v much of the opinion that we shouldn't be looking a gift horse in the mouth - even though his weight gain has slowed because of dropping some night feeds. I hope that puts your mind at rest x

TheDetective · 18/02/2013 21:42

O has been asleep since 7.30 again. This is alarming news!

I wonder if 7.30-8.30 again is too good to be true?! Either way, it doesn't matter what time he gets up, as DP will get up with him as I am doing night feeds, and DP not in work til 11. So I can stay in bed til 9. Ahhhh, lovely!

PetiteRaleuse · 18/02/2013 21:47

Good idea Detective turning over. It got worse.

Who cares about a sliced up knob?

TheDetective · 18/02/2013 21:49

Exactamundo.

Sliced up knob helped stem the tears somewhat.

Grin
Kyzordz · 18/02/2013 21:50

That makes sense pr, I'm not fussed either if he likes it (even if I did start earlier than recommended I wouldn't be rushing it, so him taking to it quickly isn't a concern, really) I love milk but his is an anti reflux one and costs £11 a tub :| athough I don't know if that can be used for weaning because it's a thicker milk, I didn't know if he'd be more likely to get bunged up so it's good to know I don't HAVE to add his milk if I didn't want to

Am not watching the penguin thing but do have it recorded, that and David attenboroughs natural curiosities.

Aw bless him tits I think it's teething that has made e so grumpy today, he is seeming quite rosy cheeked and drooling alot. Teething gel works for a bit but then wears off, I just don't know at what point to give calpol, ie how uncomfortable before I give it? I don't want to be drugging him without need lol! Hope doctors trip tomorrow goes well!

BigPigLittlePig · 18/02/2013 21:54

I'm worried now - have recorded the penguins to watch, will arm self with tissues and chocolate and don my rhino hide. Have also recorded embarrassing bodies - bring on the sliced nob totally not already done that as part of human disssection module at university ho hum

Gutted.com tonight - was really looking forward to a nice hot bath once little pig had gone to sleep. Settled her, ran bath. Put toe in and it was icy cold. Bastard boiler hasn't heated any hot water Sad. Have put it on now, need that bath and need to wash my hair. Could just use the shower but it's not the same.

YellowWellies · 18/02/2013 21:56

I'm wondering if there's teeth moving here too - red cheeks, drooling, one fist - or anything else he can grab (his soft toy bunny's ears) constantly in his mouth and he's chewing on one spot in particular. Also when BF on one side he is proper biting and chewing Shock - agony - little sod!!!!! Envy

Kyzordz · 18/02/2013 21:58

That does make me feel better yw, for a few weeks now he's been asleep when fed at 10 ish, I just feed him and put him back, but then the past few days he's been really funny with feeds and trying to take alot less. Last night my mum had him and didn't feed him his last feed and it didn't seem to bother him. He'd have woken if he wanted it I'm sure! I just thought dropping an entire feed means he's only having 4 bottles in a day and that doesn't sound many. Mind you if they're 8-9oz he's still having 32-36oz. He was happily drinking 36-40 over 5 bottles so I put him up to 9oz bottles (45oz) total and he drank less than usual! It's probably not the worst thing ever if his weight gain slows I guess, as long as he still gains we're all good :)

MissMummy1 · 18/02/2013 22:01

BPLP that's becomming an all to common occurance here too Envy. Our bugger of a boiler has taken to dropping pressure suddenly and cutting out. Usually just as I am running a hot bath. Bastard thing, had gas man out twice now. It's not even that old...

PetiteRaleuse · 18/02/2013 22:08

Food in itself might bung things up, so adding milk wouldn't help that. Weaning at the start is about taste, so I don't see that making it taste of milk would help.

So. Pig. . Are knobs as dull on the inside as they are on the outside? Penguins are far more interesting :o

horseylady · 18/02/2013 22:12

God damned sheep.

Why they can't give birth without having to intervention is beyond me. The pigs manage. The horses manage?! The sheep..... Noooooo

Thankfully they wait for me to be there.

Ps - I can expect promotion on my rtw!!

BigPigLittlePig · 18/02/2013 22:18

PR one of the men in my dissection group (strange way to make friends) was a Scouser. I distinctly remember him shrieking "it looks like fookin' pate" as we cut into it Envy

YellowWellies · 18/02/2013 22:21

horsey awesome news! Congratulations. Smile

As someone who couldn't get my wee one out without help - I empathise with your sheepy girlys! Grin

PetiteRaleuse · 18/02/2013 22:23

:o Pig

hmm. Pate. Yum. Might have to make some toast now. To go with the pate in my fridge before you all get ideas.

Sheep are crap aren't they horsey but I remember our farmer as a chikd often calling the vet for cows as they could be even worse.

PetiteRaleuse · 18/02/2013 22:25

Oh God. Didn't mean women who need intervention are crap. I had two sections and I rock. Don't take my comment the wrong way Blush

congrats horsey on your promotion, and your lambs.

blonderedhead · 18/02/2013 22:32

Ooh I cried at the penguins too. It was the Daddy not wanting to leave his chick.

Yeah I thought the same about NetHuns PR Wink
