I alternate boobs as ds only ever feeds off of one side

OP posts:
PurplePidjin · 13/02/2013 09:12

I alternate sides, but if he takes both at a feed i start with the second next time.

R wears a fleece sleep suit (over a fitted nappy) and a 2.5 tog sleeping bag. It's quite warm in our room, but he sleeps better than when both suits are in the wash and he has to wear cotton ones!

HoneyMumandSon · 13/02/2013 09:21

We're going to try sleeping bag again tonight but D refuses to have his arms covered so that works out well.

Right boob way more active than left here.

So tired. Typing with one eye open and one closed while feeding. Then DH is gonna let me have half an hour sleep as he has his only day off dr rom a 60 hour week at work today.

FriendofDorothy · 13/02/2013 10:50

I have Edward in a nappy, vest and 2.5 tog duvet. Our room is quite cool and our health visitor advised also adding a thin blanket.

FriendofDorothy · 13/02/2013 10:52

Oh, and a babygro!

ISpyPlumPie · 13/02/2013 11:03

Aargh feck off snow!!!

HoneyMumandSon · 13/02/2013 12:19

More nappy advice needed. We tried the tesco ones- better fit but leaked everywhere. But will try again. But, we're on the size 2 pampers and he's had a couple of poos go straight out and up his back. Is this cos they're too big/not on tight enough (DH had put on both of them) or just bad luck? We've not really had problems before.

Birdies · 13/02/2013 13:55

Honey its best to buy the largest possible nappies - so where baby's weight is right at the bottom range for the size range of the nappies. Also have the tabs pointing down a little round the legs to make a nice seal. They need to be tight but leave 2 finger widths between nappy and tummy. I think the tesco ones are pretty good so maybe just weren't tight enough?

Birdies · 13/02/2013 13:58

Oops I meant pampers number 2 ones are good. Tesco I use the day and night ones for my toddler and find them better than the bigger pampers sizes...

Chloe55 · 13/02/2013 14:44

I quite like asda little angels nap pies, can I remind you NOT to buy the boots ones, they are terrible. 8 week jabs here, felt awful but managed to hold back tears-me, not dd Sad

EggsMichelle · 13/02/2013 15:03

Asda little angels don't fit DS very well, but my aunt swears by them. I've found tesco to be the best, held in some mega poosplotions!

DS sleeps in vest, fleecy grow and sleeping bag, and if its especially cold he has a light blanket over his arms.

halesball · 13/02/2013 15:19

I've found my right breast always seem more full but that H always gets more agitated on it and she seems to prefer my left breast.

Honey we use the pampers size 3 just as she was getting to the top of the weight range with size 2 the nappies seemed to leak more and also didn't contain pooplosions very well.

H's cold still hasn't cleared up, i thought it was getting better but today it seems to have reappeared with a vengeance. She cries every time she coughs and struggles lying down flat Hmm. When i give her calpol she looks at me like i'm poisoning her. Sleep also seems like a distant memory shes managing 20 minute stints. I wish i could have the cold and she felt ok.

IsThatTrue · 13/02/2013 17:50

I use pampers size 2 ATM, have about 160 nappies left then onto the size 3 (can you tell I bulk buy?!). Asda didn't fit DS well he kept leaking wee, which doesn't happen in pampers. I don't go to tesco anymore but theirs were great for the big dcs. Asda are doing size 3 pampers 124 pack for £12 ATM if you can get hold of them (obv good deal they keep selling out)

DS has been so good today. He slept from 8.30-10 fed and played until 12 then slept on and off until 2, fed and stayed awake for school run. Fed then went to sleep about 4.30, went in sling to get dd from school at 5. Then just shouted at me while I cooked dcs dinner Hmm and now feeding again. Obviously 6 hr sleep last night did him good. Fx for tonight.

halesball · 13/02/2013 18:05

My sister and Niece (1yo) have been staying here and has just been taken to the walk in centre with a rash all over her body. They said that it could be a allergy but as shes also vomited and seems quite cranky it could be meningitis or measles. They've sent her home but advised my sister not to bring her near Heidi and said that i have to keep an eye on Heidi and if i feel shes getting any iller i have to take her straight to A+E. My sister also has to keep a close eye on my Niece. I know its probably only a allergy like they said but i'm abit worried about them both now. I know theres nothing any of you can do i just feel like writing it to keep my head clear

Secondsop · 13/02/2013 18:11

Oh gosh hales hope all is ok. Did your sister do the thing where you hold a glass on the rash to see if it remains under the pressure?

halesball · 13/02/2013 18:22

Yes it did disappear which is a good sign i think their being safe rather than sorry. They've done swabs of her skin to see if anything comes back. It probably just is a allergy just worrying when they tell you to keep her away from Heidi. It doesn't help that Heidi has had this cold and i'm a worrier anywayConfused

SpottyTeacakes · 13/02/2013 18:24

Hales hope she's ok, I wouldn't have thought they'd send her home if they were particularly worried though. My friend's little girls gets an awful rash when she's poorly you really would immediately think meningitis but it's just viral.

OP posts:
ISpyPlumPie · 13/02/2013 18:33

Must be v worrying Hales - hope all of you are ok. As Spotty says they're unlikely to have sent her home if they suspected anything serious, but good that they've done the swabs and told you/your sis what to watch out for.

halesball · 13/02/2013 18:58

I think they think its a allergy as well their just being safe rather than sorry. And its a good thing them telling my sister and me what to look out for. Thanks for writing back though Grin

WLmum · 13/02/2013 19:00

Poor things, it is worrying when they're so little. My dd1 always used to get a rash when she was under the weather. Hope all feel better soon.

SpottyTeacakes · 13/02/2013 19:11

Ds has been feeding (with a couple of minute breaks) for an hour and a half Hmm

OP posts:
Chloe55 · 13/02/2013 20:02

That sounds scary hales but like others have said I'm sure it's prob just allergies.

spotty your dc loves keeping you on your toes! Hope you have a reasonably settled nightSmile

Dd not taking well to her jabs, she's running a bit of a temp and doing lots of crying. Sad Have dosed her up on calpol but feel so helpless, we both came to bed an hour ago.

SpottyTeacakes · 13/02/2013 20:22

Hope she feels better soon Chloe do you remember when the next lot are? I thought it was four weeks after but I haven't heard anything about ds's yet and it'll be four weeks on Monday (he'll be 12weeks eek!)

OP posts:
EggsMichelle · 13/02/2013 20:26

Hales, hope the rash goes quickly and doesn't bother your DN. Spotty you really don't get a break, at least your dd was a nicer baby. Chloe hope dd is feeling better soon, isthat is probably the one to go to for advise, her DS struggled after the jabs too.

Having an early night with DS, got a horrible cold (thankyou DH) so getting sleep incase iv passed it on to DS!

SpottyTeacakes · 13/02/2013 20:30

So what's everyone's valentines plans?? Dp will be home for about 15 minutes before going to football training HmmGrin
