I am thinking of a car boot. I have found (been shown) a nappy FB page, but am yet to find my local selling page. Why is it when you want something on eBay they sell for silly money, but when you are the seller, you get peanuts?

gardenpixies32 · 28/01/2013 09:56

I would personally try to avoid car boots VQ. People see to want to say silly amounts for things. I would rather keep something than sell it for 50!

YellowWellies · 28/01/2013 10:02

Captain Startle Reflex, Mr Moro, Mr Twat yerself in the face - did his first night in a grobag - was awesome. He didn't sleep longer, but he didn't sleep less - he was v noisy gurgling and chatting and at one point sounded like he was running a marathon he was jigging so much - but he didn't cry! Whoop swaddle now reserved for sickness and post jags.

Ladies struggling with BF I can honestly say 6 weeks was as hard as it gets - just push through for another week and you'll find everything suddenly clicks and it becomes so easy. I had big issues with over supply and fast letdown until then but all cool now. Block feeding is your friend - check out the great advice on kellymom - it sorted out Jonas' green poos in a week.

PurplePidjin · 28/01/2013 10:03

I've done worse, Detective, and am still here without so much as an email telling me off!

PetiteRaleuse · 28/01/2013 10:25

They no doubt deserved it Dtective people generally do

MadamGazelleIsMyMum · 28/01/2013 10:28

link, detective...

Pikz · 28/01/2013 10:30

Dec I wouldn't worry. I've wanted to write that on several threads and haven't. Good on you.

Catbag I too still have visions of naughty twin sat on the floor!

L is learning daytime naps in cot. It's taking some work but he's getting there and I get to shower and express and he's such a happier baby for the naps I feel like a muppet for not doing it before!

Sophiathesnowfairy · 28/01/2013 10:31

Ooo where was that detective I want to see!

Clarella · 28/01/2013 10:31

thanks chunky, yellow and toomany!! as always so supportive. I think you've given mire advice than the la lech league lot! (not had proper chat yet tho!)

I'm wondering if the problem us still ongoing after the over expression in hospital - I was advised yo block feed for 2 hours and have done since, I now wonder if thst should have stopped at some point?? and then not bothering with expressing in the mornings last week as he really wasn't interested probably compounded it on top of 6 week thing. I blocked yesterday to 3 hours and expressed if painful and it does seem better today. don't really want to give up! Dh giving lots of pep talks :)

lol detective!

StuntNun · 28/01/2013 10:37

It might be an idea to go back to basics Clarella - no expressing, no bottles, just breastfeed on demand to regulate your supply to just what's needed. Then you can reintroduce expressing/bottles when all has settled down.

pwb I take my hat off to you with 3 LO's as I do too to garden & catbag with twins!!!

vq awwww hope you feel better v soon and bless dd1 you are the best mummy in the world to her x

detective well done Oscar on the fab sleep - did you sleep well??6 bags of frozen meatballs pls!!! Fingers x'd for a pain free fanjo - hmmmm might try putting bits on fb - did you do it on your page or your areas selling page?? Ohhhh what thread??? We'll back you up!!

yw yay to a night of non twatting face - dots has had 3 nights with her arm out of swaddle so we have progress

Dh made dinner yesterday pork with leeks and juniper berries followed by lemon sponge - pork was ok but I'm not a lover of leeks but the lemon pud was yummy - though the kitchen looks like a bomb has hit it - cheers!!!!

We're going to have chat tonight about finances, uni and housework - think crunch time is coming as I think our finances meals out, holidays, takeaways can support me at uni - I've been saying since feb last year that we need to start cutting down as its going to be a huge shock especially with childcare and he's been very blasé all will be ok etc... But I know that i cannot give this opportunity to better myself up - might be being v selfish but it's for the greater good of my family and me. We'll see what happens!!!

Dottie has gone down in her crib twice with one eye open - she does drift off but 15 mins later she's awake Confused

Lazy day indoors today before the madness starts tomorrow and doesn't end til middle of next week when we're back from Manchester!!!

TooManyDicksOnTheDancefloor · 28/01/2013 10:39

Clarella-I block feed for 3 hours, this will reduce your supply after a few days. I also express off the watery fore milk before a feed, this stops the gulping of air that B was doing due to the let down, which reduced von and wind. I was very down when it was at it's worst but it was better within days, stick with it xx

capedcrusader25 · 28/01/2013 10:41

Hi all hope those in growth spurts are coping and those who aren't see enjoying the more settled times!
O seems to be in one giant growth spurt, 3 months old tomorrow and I still can't predict how she will be.
She's got a cold :( First time being poorly and I feel so sorry for her. She's being a trooper though and still eating enough and sleeping lots so hopefully it won't last long. She has her jabs tomorrow - can she still have them???
prolific I don't think O has ever had more than 5oz in one go. In the evenings however she still cluster feeds, finishing between 10-11pm. If she has her 'last bottle' a lot before that she'll maybe have 1oz at around 11ish. She us small though, 11lb 4oz at 3 months.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 28/01/2013 10:42

I found it detective you did ask nicely, so you should be ok! Grin

YellowWellies · 28/01/2013 10:43

You can do it Clarella keep going hon. You don't want to miss the nice stages later on - Jonas now cuddles the boobs and giggles in his sleep whilst squishing them after a feed; he also smiles, locks eyes and holds my fingers when he feeds - its so lovely it makes me cry. I was an hour or two away from formula at the 6 week growth spurt - am so glad now with LOs reflux that I didn't - its much easier to treat if BF as otherwise he'd be on a prescription only formula Sad But this is what worked for us - am really not trying to pressure anyone - just saying how much I'm enjoying it now.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 28/01/2013 10:52

pwb welcome, go straight to our high rollers corner with catbag and garden

Enjoy your gratuitous lazyness glenda

catbag hope all goes well with your day and you arrive home to relative calm.

I am in my first week of Fairy Housekeeping Super budget. I have just trawled the boys around Aldi to see whatI can get there. I have done an Asda online for tomorrow, and just deleted all the Aldi stuff off. I Havel,Anne's every meal nd assuming I don't go and top up in the week I will have saved about £50 on my weekly shop this week. That and all the maternity stuff I have just put on the well know auction site I should end up with curtains in the we house after all! Grin

horseylady · 28/01/2013 10:52

Detective - funny!! I swear some people on mn just have no sense of the majority of people's realities!!!

Had him weighed nicely tracking 25th centile. 13lb at 13 weeks.

MissMummy1 · 28/01/2013 11:06

Crap night - I'm gutted, she was going 11 - 4 / 4.30 - 8.30 for almost a week. Made the stupid mistake of putting her down at 10.30 and she was up at 11 again. And 12, 1, 3, and wide awake squealing at DP from 4 until he left for work at 6.30. I've had her awake since. Thank god he took her for those 2.5hrs (redemption for sleeping with earplugs in the past week Angry )

I have the dentist today. Some of you might remember me dreading the appointment 6 months ago when they told me I needed a filling replaced Confused . My mum's coming with me to hold Tilly and my hand because they want to look at her gums too? Hmm

Day 8 no poo (her, not me - my days of pootractions went when madam burst out!). It's going to happen in the dentists, isn't it?

ValiumQueen · 28/01/2013 11:07

detective having done a quick search, you appear to have told two people on two separate threads to fuck off. Both deservedly so. I luvs you Grin

MissMummy1 · 28/01/2013 11:08

Oh and I agree, BF'ing became soooo much easier for us too after the 6 week growth spurt. I came very very close to quitting then, despite being desperate to EBF until 6 months my whole pregnancy.

ValiumQueen · 28/01/2013 11:12

MM it will. Take at least three changes for her, and one for you Grin

BigPigLittlePig · 28/01/2013 11:17

Or MM she might continue to do nothing as little pig did on our day out, thereby making you wish she had gone in the dentists to end the suspense sense of impending doom

Clarella it is the perfectly timed smiles that stopped me from becoming certifiable

detective I'm off to search for these posts - could do with a giggle

VQ hope you're feeling better soon

Sophiathesnowfairy · 28/01/2013 11:19

Yep mm I think you are predicting correctly!

ValiumQueen · 28/01/2013 11:21

At 13 weeks, bf is a piece of piss. J will start chatting to me mid feed, and gets annoyed when I sit him up. He is getting more efficient, and the evenings include lots of feeding, but with half hour naps or play, and very occasional anger and frustration. He is getting less wind, and it is coming up easier. His bedtime is now 10pm, so getting there slowly. The smiles and laughing makes it all worthwhile, and is helping with the girls as they get a response from him.

I get so confused about block feeding, over supply, and colour of poo. It was my understanding that the body produces the right milk at the right time, so, for example, in hot weather milk will be thinned down considerably to avoid dehydration. The advice about poo colour seems to vary whoever you ask. J still has green poos on occasion, but seems fine and there does not seem to be a pattern.

I am tempted to put DD2 on eBay. She is a horror today!

gardenpixies32 · 28/01/2013 11:24

Sophia - Stardrops are great and cheap. Can clean almost anything with it our house has not been cleaned properly since twins were born

Hope you start feeling better soon VQ
