Super excited to report that dd went down on her tummy in her cot at 10.30, no fuss or wriggling or spewing or any of te other things she's prone to on her back, and woke at 2 for a tiny poo and a feed! Little earlier than normal - in with me would be about 2.30/3 but I'll def trade for my bed back! We'll see what happens after this feed - fx!

SeymoreInOz · 31/01/2013 03:01

I can't stop eating whipped peanut butter! Why did I buy it?? I might have to get rid of the jar to save me from myself.

clarella great news on the orange poo! We're getting the same. I've seen a huge improvement in DS since I started the block feeding. No more grunting all night or diarrhoea, he feeds much less often (due to getting more hind milk I guess) and is generally much happier. If I hadn't seen your post about oversupply I wouldn't have twigged, so thanks for that! Thanks

interweb we've been battling horrible nappy rash for 6 weeks and it's finally gone. For us metanium is the only cream that works well enough as a barrier, it needs to go on quite thinly though. What does the rash look like? If they've got sore or broken skin for more than 72 hours you can pretty much guarantee that thrush is going to get in there (fungal nappy rash). DS has had it 4 times in the 6 weeks that his skin has been broken. It looks very red and a bit spotty, have a look at google images make sure you're not eating at the time. I'm not sure what you can get in the UK, but something along the lines of canesten or daktarin will clear it up. We also had as much nappy off time as possible, about 3 stints of 10 minutes each, every day. If DD's settled lay her down on some towels with a disposable nappy or changing pad under her bum and keep wiping off the poo. Finally ditch baby wipes for a bit, I had to change with cotton and water even when we were out!

Welcome back cherry that sounds tough. My DH is out from 7am for about 12 hours and I struggle with 3 DCs!!

Honey I tried a dream feed last night because DS tends to do his big sleep from 8pm, so I thought if I did a dream feed I would get a couple of hours of sleep when I went to bed around 10pm. Anyway I couldn't wake DS up enough to get him to feed, his lips were sealed!

EggsMichelle · 31/01/2013 03:03

10-2 here, just polished off 6oz (both my boobs would have to be engorged to produce that much milk) and drifting back off to sleep. DS and DH snoring away merrily, we are a noisy house hold even at night!

Was it Seymore who had the nappy rash knowledge? She might have some advice.

8wks today, got his first jabs this morning (calpol at the ready) and then cinema later (DPs bravely offered to have him on such a horrible day!)

EggsMichelle · 31/01/2013 03:04

X post Seymore, but I knew you would have some advice!

EggsMichelle · 31/01/2013 03:09

I also tried a dream feed, but F wouldn't open his mouth either, so gave up and now giving two ff instead which appears to be working.

SeymoreInOz · 31/01/2013 03:22

Yay WL and Eggs those are some good sleeps!

halesball · 31/01/2013 03:22

I know i'm probably suggesting something you've already done eggs and seymore but when u tried dream feeding did you express milk before putting it under the nipple? I did that but i do think H was hungry as she was showing some of her usual cues.

PurplePidjin · 31/01/2013 03:30

I've got an informal chat about a job in 7 hours and he chooses tonight to let the sleep fall apart Sad

utopian99 · 31/01/2013 03:41

honey can you call the doctor and say you need a better/stronger solution? Or could the white tongue left over be just normal milk whitening?

wlmum fx for you! I was so excited when O started going down in his hammock and giving us our bed back.

Great poo progress clarella! HmmGrin never thought I'd be writing that.. Out of interest what's block feeding, not heard the phrase?

O went down at 12ish I think and has slept till 3.39; a record to date?! - I say 'ish' as we came to bed at 11.30 to discover one of the cats had been trapped in the bedroom and had secreted a huge poo cunningly under the bed. It had had the decency at least to find a piece of plastic shoe bag to do it on but my god what a smell compared to harmless bf nappies! When did this household become such a poo-factory??

utopian99 · 31/01/2013 03:42

X post pidj, exciting news on the job chat? Sorry about sleep, hope he settles quickly..

WillYouDoTheFandango · 31/01/2013 04:39

Good luck for the job chat Pidj hopefully you're both back asleep.

I've currently got J over my shoulder trying to dislodge as many farts as possible before I put him back down. He had some stuck last night and whinged fir hours in his sleep.

I left him for my first hour tonight. I was fine and really enjoyed Zumba. That's huge progress as I was quite bad with the baby blues and had to have him in the bathroom with me while I bathed and everything Grin

2blessed · 31/01/2013 04:43

Fx for the job chat and some sleep beforehand pidj

I'm also interested to know what block feeding is....

Ds slept 12-4, had a nappy change and is now grazing on the boob.

MaMaPo · 31/01/2013 04:56

Willyou, glad you had a pleasant night.

Good luck with the job chat, Pidj.

Little C has been a feeding monster - every 90 minutes yesterday. She didn't go down until 11 (I was beside myself with tiredness) but my husband kept her and did a 2am feed. I woke up to minor poosplosion at about half 4 - it could have been worse at it was 48 hours since last poo.

I want my less clingy, less feedy, more sleepy baby back.

OP posts:
PurplePidjin · 31/01/2013 05:32

Nope, we're down to 45 minutes between wakings. Feeds take 30-40 minutes. Gah!

Secondsop · 31/01/2013 06:06

utopian I know what you mean about cat poo . What I don't get is how my cat seems to poo at the same volumes and frequency of a HUMAN.

A good night here - started feeding z at 0040, took an hour or so for him to feed and settle, but he only just woke at 0545! The other piece of good news is that I put him down wide awake alert and chattering after the earlier feed, and he settled himself and put himself to sleep.

Clarella · 31/01/2013 06:49

ditto mamma and purple!

good luck purple x

WLmum · 31/01/2013 06:53

After 3 attempts I did get T back down in her cot but she woke again after an hour. Was too tired to sit up and feed so came in with me and co-slept/fed. Just fed her again and going to try to get her back down. DH is downstairs getting the bigs ready and will be doing the school run. Please let me have a little nap now!

Good luck pidj

IsThatTrue · 31/01/2013 07:03

Good luck pidj

Well ds2 seems to be waking every 2 hrs so 12, 2, 4 and 6. I brought him into bed with us and fed while I slept at 4, then just changed which boob was out at 6 Grin

First toddler group this morning. Hoping to meet people with babies the same age. I love all my mates but they've all got 9-3 yo's so hoping to find some playmates for ds2.

Glad there was a bit more sleep out there last night.

halesball · 31/01/2013 07:32

Good luck pidj.

Dare i say it H had the best night ever, she went to sleep at 8:30 woke at 11:30, 1:30 and 5:30 then shes been up since 7.Grin However i only managed to go to sleep at 4 Confused i'm hoping my body clock hasn't got into sleeping at 4

SpottyTeacakes · 31/01/2013 08:55

Hope you managed to get some rest pidj, good luck Smile

Well after finally falling asleep at 10 ds woke at 1,4,5:45&7:15. He's back asleep now after an hour of awake time.

Dp didn't get back until 10:30 last night because he stayed for a pint Angry

utopian99 · 31/01/2013 09:27

Well.amazingly after sleeping 12-3.40, he went back to hammock at 4.15 and fussed a bit but stayed asleep until 6.30, quick feed after which i left him in with us, and more sleep till dh got up at 7.50! Am shocked but feel great.. Hoping this doesn't mean we're due a shocking night tonight.

Question - we have a friend's 30th to go to tomorrow, which is a house party, so easy to take Oz. I'd like to take a bottle and have a glass of fizz (won't be more as driving later,) but also may end up bf as he's not that established on the bottle yet.
A. What do I wear to look partyish but still be able to bf?
B. I have always absented myself when bfing with this group of friends but don't want to miss party chat etc - please give me reassurance it'll be okay! (don't give two hoots in front of strangers/my friends, but these are primarily DH's)

brooke89 · 31/01/2013 10:36

LO has woken up with a swollen eye that has all green gunk in it Hmm

SpottyTeacakes · 31/01/2013 10:40

Brooke wipe it with cool boiled water and see how the eye looks. Sticky eye shouldn't be red or inflamed I don't think?

Secondsop · 31/01/2013 10:50

brooke could be sticky eye. I thought Z had conjunctivitis but the ladies on here suggested sticky eye if it wasn't red or inflamed (which it wasn't). One day of cleaning it and it's completely cleared.

SpottyTeacakes · 31/01/2013 11:04

Utopian you will be fine Smile no idea what you can wear though I HATE dressing up!
