Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I'm not convinced F had thrush now, think the pain from the reflux was causing the bad latch and the white tongue was from the terrible vomiting, he was happy too quickly for the thrush meds to have taken effect.

I have tried both pills but never got on (random bleeding) and was on the depo for 8yrs with no bleeding at all but also complete lose of labido and pain during sex. Giving the coil a go as that should affect the labido/cause the pain.

DH is off playing golf (very badly) with his male family so I'm spending the day with my grandma and parents, and being thoroughly spoilt!

EggsMichelle · 27/01/2013 12:58

Should not affect!!

Secondsop · 27/01/2013 14:13

honey, spotty thank you I hadn't heard of sticky eye at all. The eyes aren't red or inflamed, just watery and a little gunky sometimes. They responded well to me cleaning them. Will see how it goes tomorrow and if it gets worse I'll take him to the doctor.

SpottyTeacakes · 27/01/2013 14:29

Not had I seconds I was already to take dd to the drs. They really should warn you about these things to stop you panicking!

HoneyMumandSon · 27/01/2013 16:10

Same here spotty. D's eyes were gunky and crusty and needed cleaning at least 4 or 5 times a day and I had no idea about what it was. We were going to gp anyway and he said nothing to worry about.

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 27/01/2013 16:17

Been and spent our vouchers on Ethan. Well mostly on him but a boots one we were given funded not only vests but lanisoh breast pads (my wilkinsons ones are making my boobs itch) and some breastfeeding vitamin tablets as my diet isn't always the best.

seconds I hope LOs eyes get better soon. Dd had bad sticky eye at about 6wks but just careful cleaning made it better within a few days.

WillYouDoTheFandango · 27/01/2013 17:23

J was born with sticky eye. Their tear ducts aren't really working that well yet so they can just get a bit gunked up.

I've had a glass and a half of wine. Had to come to bed its made me do tired. Sunday afternoon nap for me!

PurplePidjin · 27/01/2013 17:34

R had sticky eye in the first couple of weeks, squirt a bit of breast milk on to clean it. I was sceptical till dp heard it on radio 2 so we tried and it worked Shock cooled boiled salty water worked but not as quick

We went swimming today, he loved it going to try and get him a little wetsuit and go every week with my friend and her 18mo :)

FriendofDorothy · 27/01/2013 18:31

I feel really hormonally today, just like I usually do when my period is due. Surely it can't be that though?

utopian99 · 27/01/2013 19:02

Thanks for all the contraception responses, sounds like a lot of people have issues with the mini pill. Think I'll give it a couple more weeks and then speak to the doctor at my 6-week checkup. We're planning on ttc again in 6 months (so 5 from now, eek!), so condoms wouldn't be awful, although pretty much my least favourite option..

Pidj how did you find swimming? Tried to go for a trial with Oz this week but the car broke down!

SpottyTeacakes · 27/01/2013 19:21

And he's screaming/feeding again argh. Dp has chosen now to have a bath didn't even ask if I needed a hand Angry it's not like I need to tidy up or fold the washing....

PurplePidjin · 27/01/2013 19:36

We went to the slightly-further-away council place because it has a baby pool and just had a bob about. I thought he'd howl within a minute but he stayed calm for 25! We even got a couple of smiles :o i think he'd have tolerated longer but his hands were turning purple and his teeth gums were chattering. He didn't yell till we tried to dress him, even under the shower!

I won't be signing up for lessons yet, but then my friend I've been going with for years pre dc is a swimming teacher, so we'll just carry on but with her toddler and R. More bubbles, fewer lengths Wink

Speaking of which, i haven't seen bubbless or gilsbubbles for a while, plus countless others whose names i can't remember off the top of my head. Hope everyone made it through ok...

halesball · 27/01/2013 20:15

Honey, H's mouth got worse before it got better and as her mouth cleared up my breast pain has got worse. I'm going the GP tomorrow.

Seconds hope your LO's eyes clear up quickly.

pmgkt · 27/01/2013 20:41

On the topic of pills, I used the combined microgynon for years prior to ds1 but then took the mini pill carrezette while feeding. Periods were all over the place, every few weeks, and long. When ttc ds2 it took 9 months to settle back into a pattern, and even then was such a short 3 week cycle it was difficult to get pregnant. I did some research while ttc and lots of people have this problem sometimes taking years to have periods return. So my advice would be avoid it if you want another soon. Dh is booked in for the snip so that solves that problem for future.

zcos · 27/01/2013 21:01

Second if your lo is going regularly same time every day should consider in a few months placing on potty when you see the signs

ellliebelle · 27/01/2013 21:16

pmgkt my dh is also booked in 7th march :)

EggsMichelle · 27/01/2013 22:04

Just realised its exactly 1yr since my last period (skipped a couple before falling pregnant!) I hate periods, I want a hysterectomy as soon as iv had the third child! Not really sure when we plan to have dc2, we both still in our 20s so figure we have time to space them out a little.

F has been grizzly all day, his poor sleep last night combined with visits to my family throwing out his routine has left him over tired and cluster feeding all day, poor little grouch! Just got most of a 6oz bottle in him and he has finally fallen asleep, hopefully that will keep him going for a while.

Secondsop · 27/01/2013 22:45

Zcos that's a good tip for when we get to potty training.

Thanks for all the other tips re sticky-eye. I gave them a clean with cool water which he wasn't mad keen on but the eyes are definitely not red or inflamed so I agree it looks like sticky eye not conjunctivitis. The cleaning has kept them looking fine for a good few hours now.

Secondsop · 27/01/2013 22:47

Re contraception, if we manage to have another one, the plan is for my husband to have the snip given that I don't get on very well with any contraception really. Although my husband would like a 3rd too so we're going to see how the next pregnancy (if there is one) goes. I appreciate that this is the kind of talk that leaves people ending up with about 6.

WillYouDoTheFandango · 27/01/2013 23:12

Ooh more babies. I've gone from the least British person ever to the woman who wants everyone her to have millions [grun]

Been to a christening today. J was passed from pillar to post leaving him really unsettled. He refused the bottle all day and has eaten all night. I drank 1 1/2 glasses of wine and had a 2 hour nap. There may be a long sleepless night ahead.

HoneyMumandSon · 27/01/2013 23:12

When D was in scbu DH apparently said he'd get the snip then and there as he couldn't cope with that kind of stress again. I don't actually remember this part and he's very glad I didn't hold him to it (he's 26 and we really want at least 1 more he doesn't know we're actually having at least 2 more

WillYouDoTheFandango · 27/01/2013 23:13

Hmm not [grun] Grin

zcos · 27/01/2013 23:26

my dh is getting snip too once we have finished I want 3 he wants 2 not sure what will happen there!!

Equimum · 28/01/2013 00:25

We're a bit stuck on contraception too. DH will have snip if we have another child, but we're unsure what to use for now. I've never taken hormonal contraception for various reasons and don't want to start, but I hate the idea of another coil. I've been thinking about a cap, as falling pregnant again wouldn't be the end of the world, but does anyone know how long u have to wait after giving birth to get fitted?

DS has been really good today. He appears to be developing a daytime routine which includes naps and, thanks to a dummy, he's getting better at night, although he still won't go down until pretty late...hence being on here now!

halesball · 28/01/2013 01:08

I think your all very brave thinking about having other children. I originally wanted 3 but after what can only be described as a horrific pregnancy (lost 23lb) and a awful birth (they couldn't get me into theatre despite it being an emergency because the theatre was full so just pulled H out by forceps). I'm a 100% sure that H is going to be a only child, well apart from her step sister. I was thinking of using the Mirena coil as contraception.
