We went 3hrs, 3hrs and now awake since 3am, watching hollyoaks. He as also found a new sense of calm, and only left the bedroom because he say chattering non stop, talks too much like his father!

itsMYNutella · 27/01/2013 06:36

Utopian I tried a mini pill because of migraines about 2 years ago (Dr's advice, I didn't believe the two were linked) - it was awful! I didn't feel at all normal; I was Angry or Sad and had no patience for anything, was such a relief when I went back to a normal pill. Confused

Interesting reading about the oversupply issues. T is incredibly gassy... Might try one boob per feed - even though he is a greedy thing

zcos · 27/01/2013 06:59

on subject of chattering babes mine talks in her sleep I swear all kinds of gurgles but she is breathing quietly and shallow and doesn't wake my dh is terrible for talking in his sleep last night he was saying "the man, the innocent man" I wonder what that means? the night before we got married he slept back in his parents home and was screaming all night! Shock

WillYouDoTheFandango · 27/01/2013 07:15

Utopian prior to getting pregnant I was on the mini pill for 8 years and I got on really well with it. I had a lot of random spitting for first month a no then no periods at all after that. My periods have always been very heavy and painful so it was great for me.

The little dude's in trouble. He woke me up for a feed, took one suck and fell back to sleep. I am not happy!

WillYouDoTheFandango · 27/01/2013 07:16

Spotting not spitting that would be a truly random side effect! I started taking it again tonight

SpottyTeacakes · 27/01/2013 07:20

Well ds is just stirring after another three hours (when I say three hours I mean since the beginning of his last feed) so that's good.

Speaking of sleep talking this should keep everyone entertained during the night feeds Grin

utopian99 · 27/01/2013 07:42

Hmm, thanks for the pill advice. What other options are there though? want to try for dc 2 starting in about 6months,.so.long term stuff is out. I was on the normal pill before and very happy with it, but heard it interferes with bf..

How long should i give this to trial it? A month?

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 27/01/2013 08:01

I spoke too soon last night and Ethan was up for pretty much the rest of the night. Hmm

I'm worrying about my supply again. Not sure how much this boy is getting Hmm bloody maternal paranoia!

SpottyTeacakes · 27/01/2013 08:20

We just had the worst poosplosion ever it actually pooled in ds's baby grow. Possibly a mixture of no poo for 36 hours and the Indian I had last night Blush

HoneyMumandSon · 27/01/2013 08:26

Grin spotty. bet you have a much happier baby now!

mmm... indian

SpottyTeacakes · 27/01/2013 08:27

Well he was until I bent his little finger back putting his grow on. I'm in his bad books now!

HoneyMumandSon · 27/01/2013 08:31

utopian combined pill can affect supply for bf but i talked it through with gp and decided to give it a go. i had some oversupply so the fact its reduced it a little is prob helpful for me. it's weighing up pros/cons.

SpottyTeacakes · 27/01/2013 08:51

really nice reusable breast pads

ISpyPlumPie · 27/01/2013 10:23

Utopian - I had been considering the mini-pill, but did a bit of reading in the Family Planning topic and there were lots of people saying they'd had really awful mood swings on it. Given that all but one person who's tried it here has had a bad experience too I'm really not keen now (though I know everyone's different).

Last time, we just used condoms until ttc again. I know bf is not a contraceptive, but I didn't get a period for 14 months so felt condoms would prob be enough. Also, we always intended to have another child so if there had been a 'surprise' he/she would just have been ahead of schedule. Even though we haven't 100% ruled out DC3, it would have a much more major impact if there were any mishaps this time so think we need something more relialble. Not really sure about coils, implants or injections though - all seem to have quite a few potential side effects, but I suppose nothing's perfect.

Good point about over-supply Honey - I have got on with the combined pill previously so might be worth chatting to GP about.

ellliebelle · 27/01/2013 10:41

Glad to hear some of us are getting more good nights in the mix now ds went down in his basket at 11 last night and slept till 3 so I feel pretty good today as co slept from 3 til 9 with 2 hourly feeds

Got my first big grin from ds this morning and my heart melted

Secondsop · 27/01/2013 10:41

We're just going to use condoms because we want to try for another in a few months. I had a mirena coil before and I know some women love it but I didn't get on with it AT ALL. Bled, sometimes heavily, for 9 months and then didn't have a period for a year after having it removed (which is no joke when trying for a baby in your mid-thirties).

Last night Z slept beautifully for the first part of the night but was then uncomfortable after that and just couldn't settle. I'm not sure if the mouth thrush is irritating him - he certainly kept making sort of gurgly crying noises , not gurgly happy noises. At least we seem to have him sleeping outside our bed now - at one point I brought him in my bed and he didn't settle any better so it wasn't just that he wanted mummy. I did let him snuggle next to me after his morning breastfeed though.

At the moment he's taken to doing 1 big poo a day in the morning, which is good as I can bath him straight after it rather than using half a packet of wipes.

SpottyTeacakes · 27/01/2013 10:45

Seconds I had the mirena and bled for six months then had regular periods for another eight then found out I was pregnant.

I can't take the pill (have tried all sorts) as I get migraines and spotting. I did get on well with the injections not sure you can have them when bf though.

HoneyMumandSon · 27/01/2013 11:52

Anyone else whose little one has thrush in their mouth- have you seen any improvement yet or how long did it take to see an improvement in their mouths? If anything D is looking worse after 2 days treatment Confused

SpottyTeacakes · 27/01/2013 12:11

When ds had his thumb in before I'd put it in for him but just now he put it in himself for the first time! This might mean that he can start comforting himself and might be less fussy Smile

Sorry D isn't feeling much better Honey Sad

We're really flooded round here so I've got to go seven miles out of my way tomorrow to get dd to nursery which is a pain when we struggle enough to get out the house on time as it is!

brooke89 · 27/01/2013 12:12

Isla is sleeping a lot better, she's been doing 12-6:30 each night and then 7:30 -11:00. Next hurdle is trying to get her to settle before 12!

Off for a roast at a friends today, starving!!

WLmum · 27/01/2013 12:19

In my first act confirming that T is my last baby I gave away a bag of newborn stuff that she's outgrown yesterday! Happy/sad emoticons!

Secondsop · 27/01/2013 12:29

honey I haven't seen much improvement yet. And to add to it all, I think he's got a bit of conjunctivitis. Cleaning his eyes carefully does seem to help - should I get an emergency doctors appointment tomorrow? An going in on Thursday for his jabs.

SpottyTeacakes · 27/01/2013 12:31

Seconds could it just be sticky eye? Really common in babies dd had it at about 8 weeks old but it was fine a couple if days later

HoneyMumandSon · 27/01/2013 12:37

I was going to say possibly sticky eye too. D had it for ages and gp and hv said just to keep cleaning it as long as actual eye didn't look inflamed/sore

MaMaPo · 27/01/2013 12:47

Wow Brooke, that's some good sleeping! She obviously likes her lie-in.

C has been fighting her sleeps today - just put her down in her cot (asleep) and I can hear her waking up again. SIGH. Still, got a chance this morning to use FaceTime and talk to her grandparents and aunt and uncle back home - she's very popular.
