Baby smiles - nature's way of ensuring we don't abandon out babies to the wolves. Congrats, Willyou!

halesball, i did that, and did have supply issues on that side. I found the more yunior used the painful one the better it got. It took a while and a lot of lasinoh!

2blessed · 26/01/2013 02:32

Thats lovely willyou and lucky you with that sleeping time.

We've had a massive poosplosion, now just put him down to sleep - fx it will be for a couple of hours.

halesball · 26/01/2013 03:05

Thank you monster

SeymoreInOz · 26/01/2013 03:16

Yes! DS finally took a bottle from DH! I warmed it up more than usual and he was quite hungry.

Congrats Willyou! I hope J dropped off quickly for you.

hales I tried feeding from one side but the other side got very painful and engorged and expressing hurt more! Lots of air and keeping the nipples dry should help clear it up, as well as the thrush cream. I feel for you though, the pain kept me awake... as if I needed anything else to keep me up at night!

WLmum · 26/01/2013 03:17

T just slept 4 hours - in her basket!!! Please let this not be a one off!!

WLmum · 26/01/2013 03:19

hales I think it would cause supply issues but you can always build it up again later if need be. I think you are all doing amazingly to keep going with all the persistent thrush.

halesball · 26/01/2013 03:34

Yay to J's smile Willyou.

I bet your DH was thrilled that your DS took a bottle from him Seymour.

And Congratulations about T's sleep in the moses basket. Hope its the 1st of many.

Just up and feeding off the worst breast, Shock

WLmum · 26/01/2013 03:37

Am Envy of all the dp feeding - I'm ebf so DH can't (which secretly delights him!) and even with dd1 who was ff, he used to make such a song and dance about it I would always wake up and get stressed so was just easier to do it myself! Well planning on making him get up with big dds in the morning so if I can get t back down I can gave a little lay in.

WLmum · 26/01/2013 03:38

Poor you hales - gritted teeth?

MaMaPo · 26/01/2013 04:32

WL, I see you point about him faffing about, but perhaps you could express some milk for a feed? That's what I do, and my husband gives it to her when he's still up but I'm already asleep, which means I don't need to know anything about it.

Had people over tonight so C's routine abandoned and she needed lots of settling to get to sleep, and now we're 2 hourly. Not happy!

Have been expressing this week but not tried feeding yet. Was out for coffee with nct girls and all agreed it's harder getting them to take a bottle than you think so now Confused

Just woke up from a dream that mil had come to our house in the middle of the night to tell us fil's life had been threatened and 'they' might come after us! Really quite shaken. (no idea what triggered it)

Secondsop · 26/01/2013 05:13

willyou hurrah for the smiles!

Z slept from 1-4.30am in his carrycot, the longest sleep that's not been snuggled up against me!

SpottyTeacakes · 26/01/2013 06:54

Lucky you with all your smiles Envy ds is nine weeks Monday but only four corrected so still waiting...

Dp didn't notice I'd had my hair done until he read my status on fb then said it didn't look much different anyway HmmAngrySad

I also had a horrible dream. Actually two. One that I cheated on dp with an ex (wtf?!) and one was more of a night terror that someone was next to me but couldn't move or speak, I used to get them a lot in my teens...

Hales sounds really awful can you get to a walk in centre or cal OOH GP now it's the weekend?

SpottyTeacakes · 26/01/2013 06:55

Oh seconds that's good news did you find you slept better?

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 26/01/2013 07:37

WL I express so DH has milk for when I go out to Zumba or somewhere. Ds2 is ebf too and DH has only fed him twice (at 7 wks) but he really enjoyed it when he did.

Off to Costco in a bit. Sure Ethan will enjoy it! Grin

Clarella · 26/01/2013 08:13

right I definitely have oversupply still. terrible night miserable baby and miserable mum and dad. have hit lll website, armed with advice a plan and resolve to sort it out or we will all loose our minds. all the symptoms match and I've been trying to tell/ ask the hv about it for ages but useless. :(

Clarella · 26/01/2013 08:14

even 'mammoth weight gain' is a symptom!

Secondsop · 26/01/2013 08:19

spotty the night terrors thing sounds very much like sleep paralysis. I used to get that all the time. It's really frightening,

Y I did sleep better but am still exhausted - obv have catching up to do. After his feed (finished about 5.30) he then slept till about 8. I was getting so tired lately that I didn't want to risk co-sleeping tonight, and happily he has obliged!

SpottyTeacakes · 26/01/2013 08:26

That's right seconds I got/get a mixture of the two it's no fun! At least this time I could breathe though!

I put ds to sleep in the Moses in my bedroom and left him he started crying after a while so I went and patted him and he's now asleep. Means I can have some time with dd.

Is anyone going to go to the baby show next month?

EggsMichelle · 26/01/2013 08:41

After the epic poo, and gleefull giggling at 1am, he slept until 6! He has fed and asleep now, I've had breakfast and now folding laundry. Can't find the baby monitor (DH had it last night) so DH will have to wake up and attend to him!

Secondsop · 26/01/2013 10:22

I hadn't seen the baby show - I'd really like to go but it'll be a case of whether it can be fitted in before we go away for a month to Australia. My husband is surprisingly up for baby shopping - he admitted in Sainsburys the other day that he really liked buying clothes for Z.

Well I really hope that we have turned a corner with sleep as I was able to put Z back into his carrycot post feed without him needing to be cuddled to sleep, and when he woke up and grizzled it was because he was hungry and not because he wanted comfort. I wonder if he's reached a stage where he understands separation better - eg yesterday he clearly understood that I'd been away and he was pleased when I got back and upset when I handed him to my mum while I took my shoes off.

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 26/01/2013 10:52

Off to get my nails done in a minute. Hoping DH doesn't need to feed Ethan as there's only 2oz of expressed milk in the freezer. Confused

clarella it's rubbish that your hv hasn't helped but at least you've got info that should help now.

ISpyPlumPie · 26/01/2013 12:16

Yay for smiles and better sleep Seconds and Eggs.

Clarella - sorry you're having a tough time. Can I ask what the symptoms of over-supply are? We have mamoth weight gain, constant leakiness (I often have to change bras and am yet to wake up without a saturated top despite regular night feeds) and I often feel engorged even though N usually doesn't go more than a couple of hours between feeds. Apart from adding to the laundry, it's not causing any real issues - more inconvenient than anything - but would be interested to know.

HoneyMumandSon · 26/01/2013 12:47

Will be back on later to update about our night. But just quickly, pregnant friend is suffering with not being able to sleep and is only 20 weeks. She wants to know if the giant body pillows work. I never used one but are they any good? Which ones are best? Thanks
