I have a friend who swears by it honey. She has very large boobs though. I didn't use one but I never got that big.

WillYouDoTheFandango · 26/01/2013 13:13

I've noticed a sudden change over the last day or so. J has switched from exactly 3 hourly feeds to exactly 4 hourly feeds. Not complaining but it just happened overnight.

MaMaPo · 26/01/2013 13:20

Honey, I bought one from Argos as I found moving 2-3 pillows when I turned over a real faff. I found it useful.

honey I have a long body one from mothercare it was/is great I still use it now.

ispy I wouldn't think that's normal tbh. My engorgement went by wk3 and I've never leaked through clothes unless i've forgotten to put fresh breast pads on at night before bed but even then it's only small patches.

Ethan gave daddy his first smile today. I was there to witness it though! Grin

secondsop & spotty yeah I have that sleep paralysis too v scary. it all comes from the fact your body shuts down to paralyze itself in sleep so you don't harm yourself but sometimes you wake a bit when your body doesn't I have actually realised I am dreaming but still couldn't move have to concentrate hard to move a finger then hand etc sometimes I am shouting out to dh to move me shake me in reality I am not shouting at all v scary. it happens when your v tired ... when I used to nap I used to set an alarm so that would shake me out of it ...

zcos · 26/01/2013 13:50

honey I bought the dream genie which is just under 50 quid as I was starting not to sleep so good and was worried it would get worse thought it was the best. it was awful!!! gave me bad back I tried persevering cos dh had said it was a waste of money before I got it I realise he was right. I would recommend some memory foam pillows great back support sitting and between legs lying down and you can get one for 7 quid!

Bellaboo123 · 26/01/2013 14:00

I got a dream genie too wasn't that impressed tbh. It's been more use as a bf pillow and also curled into a circle to sit A in.

EggsMichelle · 26/01/2013 14:25

I used to shove a feather pillow under my bump, easy to squish and mould around the belly.

Really want chocolate, but the snow is really bad and I banned DH from driving, can't really revoke my safety principals just for my cravings!

utopian99 · 26/01/2013 15:13

I just used a pillow under the bump too.

I leak through clothes quite often and need to change breast pads once during the day and again before bed. Had thought this was because i've been using cheap boots pads though so am trying avent ones as of today. O has been putting weight on but I think within percentiles..

SpottyTeacakes · 26/01/2013 15:58

I know in dreaming too zcos and try to physically pull myself out of it. It's really strange.

SpottyTeacakes · 26/01/2013 16:33

Oh and earlier I got a two hour twenty minute nap! I feel pretty crappy for it Confused it's probably done me some good though. I haven't had a chance to express more than 3oz today as ds has mainly been feeding every hour Hmm

SeymoreInOz · 26/01/2013 17:00

Agh! It's 4am here and I've been awake for over an hour... while DS sleeps!! DH is on a night out and came in just before 3am, woke me up and said "I'll be back in 15 minutes, I'll explain in the morning." He then faffed around in the bedroom for half an hour and has gone out again! No point going back to sleep before the next feed but I'm too angry to sleep anyway. And he won't be back for a while now so he'll sleep all morning. I actually want to punch him.

clarella Just looked up oversupply and I think you might have cracked it for me! DS has mammoth weight gain, fussiness, gassiness, foamy/runny poos and nappy rash and I have painful let down. I'll try block feeding and see how we get on.

MaMaPo · 26/01/2013 17:45

Good luck to you who have oversupply. I bought plenty of breast pads before the birth and have used 2. Weird. I have occasionally leaked in he night when baby has gone unexpectedly long between feeds.

Had a nice home day today - both husband an I have had a go at settling C in her cot and its gone ok. She's used Ewan the Dream Sheep well. I'm going to treat myself to a bath tonight!

SpottyTeacakes · 26/01/2013 18:02

I only leak when I'm feeding as both boobs let down at the same time Confused

Indian tonight!

zcos · 26/01/2013 18:09

I find tommy tippee the best breast pads for daytime have 2 stickies on them and stay flat and right shape ... though the two stickies back fire in the night and end up sticking to sensitive nipples Shock ouch!

SpottyTeacakes · 26/01/2013 19:19

He won't stop bloody crying

FriendofDorothy · 26/01/2013 19:30

I had a Dream Genii pillow and I loved it.

utopian99 · 26/01/2013 20:10

Oh spotty, i can't help but we are thinking of you..

Does anyone know how fast the baby should be able to drink from.a Medela Calma teat? This is our first go and it seems like a slow process...

SpottyTeacakes · 26/01/2013 20:22

You might need a faster flow teat utopian? Or some babies are just slow Grin

Secondsop · 26/01/2013 20:42

I only usually leak when I'm feeding, but although my right breast lets down when my left is suckled, it doesn't happen the other way around.

I had a dream genii. It was ok but didn't change my world. I didn't use it for many weeks. I'm not massively tall (5ft6ish) but I felt like it was too short and that I was squishing/wedging my body Into it.

WLmum · 26/01/2013 20:47

spotty I recommend a cheeky glass of vino! Had half a glass yesterday and T did her best night sleep ever - am just checking cause and effect by having another one today!

SpottyTeacakes · 26/01/2013 20:54

Argh I don't have any! Only got champagne! At least he doesn't do it every night I suppose, this is probably only the third time, but it's awful when nothing works not even feeding!

brooke89 · 26/01/2013 21:21

Oh no seymore hoe you manage to get a bit if sleep! Wake him up when he tries to sleep tomorrow!!

Suffering today with first hangover in 11 months.... It's a bad one!

WLmum · 26/01/2013 21:22

Poor little mite, it is so awful when they are inconsolable. We had an incident today - dd2 bit T! For some reason she put Ts finger in her mouth, and bit it! I don't think she meant to but she got a right good telling off. DH was v v cross - he has a thing about biting.

Clarella · 26/01/2013 21:30

WL and spotty - a postnatal physio said a nip of brandy for mum can work wonders for a VERY fussy baby in extreme circumstances!
