Previous thread: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/postnatal_clubs/1655656-November-2012-sleeping-through-yet

The answer to the sleeping though question was a chorus of "no"s but there were a few resounding yesses and a lot more keeping quiet because the rest of us would be well jel.

I'm pretty far away from scotland too - west sussex, not that far from u purple. Sorry to hear you're having a tough time. Perhaps you should ask one of the people who offered help, they might be waiting for you to ask?

Oh no garden I'm so sorry to hear that. Hope you're ok

ChunkyChicken · 17/01/2013 16:46

Ewwwwww candy that sounds yuck. Poor you DD.

Garden oh my. Words fail me. Hope you're as ok as you can be. Hugs.

pp welcome & hugs. I can't imagine how you must feel, although can empathise with the disastrous house state & feeling like it needs to be done. I would recommend just doing the absolute necessary/minimum and gradually you'll get on top of it. I've given myself a routine at the same time as I did one for my 2.8yo DD. Essentially I will just do 15-30mins of stuff whilst both dc nap & I decided what things to do each day, like clean loo on Monday, dust on Thursday etc. Oh and, if people have offered to help, be a bit of a bitch assertive and phone them saying specifics - "can you come & hold baby OR do some washing up for me for an hr tomorrow please?". Final thing - have you done the sling thing? Try a sling library to find one you like.

Catbag · 17/01/2013 16:57

Shit garden, I am so sorry to hear that. I can empathise with the stress of looking after two babies but you have had a few problems to contend with that I have not, and I can only imagine how that must have worn you both down. Please feel free to talk as much or as little as you need to here. You are a much loved piece of the quiche and we will support you as much as we possibly can x

kirrinIsland · 17/01/2013 16:59

So sorry garden - we are here if you need us.

PP I'm not surprised you're in tears - you have a lot to deal with.

Jabs went ok - few tears but she seems fine now.

I to couldn't be further from Scotland, well not without crossing water anyway!

Catbag · 17/01/2013 17:01

I am much green about these various discussed quiche meet-ups. While I am closer to Scotland than Paris, it is still three hours to Edinburgh from here :( Is there no Yorkshire/ County Durham person here present?!

capedcrusader25 · 17/01/2013 17:02

Sorry to hear that garden Thanks
kyz it's always good to get checked out, O suffered with constipation badly in her first few weeks. She didn't actually pass any hard stools, just small amounts of mucus like jelly. This was apparently the stuff that slipped past the hard poo that was stuck, it's a less common symptom. Some water each day, bicycle movements and tummy massaging has helped massively and she now has a regular (massive) poo each day. Fingers crossed its nothing too serious for you.

Catbag · 17/01/2013 17:04

Hey caped Long time, no speak! Hope you and LO are well :)

ValiumQueen · 17/01/2013 17:06

Do you realise we have horsey in our quiche. Right on trend then!

PetiteRaleuse · 17/01/2013 17:08

I'm a long way from everyone :(

ValiumQueen · 17/01/2013 17:09

Jabs went ok here too. Got there with a minute to spare and one receptionist was clearly going to jump down my throat, when the other one stepped in. I was in to see the nurse before the minute elapsed. Might try that next time.

ValiumQueen · 17/01/2013 17:11

You are PR but not as far away as pasties

ValiumQueen · 17/01/2013 17:11

Is everyone ready for the snow?

StuntNun · 17/01/2013 17:21

Sorry to hear your woes Garden and Purple. If it would help to talk about it on here then please do so. It will be hard for you two to look after yourselves, I hope you can find some time to unwind and relax a bit.

OP posts:
horseylady · 17/01/2013 17:25

Vq lol

Yes ready for snow. Well as well as you can be. I drive a 4x4 anyway so it's ok. I've got tubs to fill up for all the animals as the taps are frozen so it's taking water from home daily :( bit painful but never mind.

Garden - so sorry!!

Brockle · 17/01/2013 17:31

TooManyDicksOnTheDancefloor · 17/01/2013 17:36

I'm from Leeds catbag

It's snowing here VQ, bloody freezing!

FatimaLovesBread · 17/01/2013 17:38

Oh oh oh catbag I'm in Yorkshire! Grin

Oooh ikea, I have two within doable distances and Warrington a bit further away

PurplePidjin · 17/01/2013 17:40

Most of the offers are dp's running club buddies, my friends all work/have young kids. Hard to pin down!

Chicken stretchy, mei tai or wrap? I'm hopefully going to be arranging for there to be a sling meet and nappycino with library at my local Sure Start centre; just need to confer with a couple of local experts and get applications in for grants :)

blonderthanred · 17/01/2013 17:47

Have you had some sleep VQ? You're on fire.

I used to live in Leeds & Manchester. So I must be eligible for those! I need a several trip to Ikea.

PetiteRaleuse · 17/01/2013 17:54

There's an Ikea in Metz... Anyone? Thought not Grin

Clarella · 17/01/2013 17:57

pidj -was the Dr any help? feels like you need a home help for a bit but I don't know how they are organised.

so sorry to hear that garden.

catbag n co - gateshead ikea??!! I'm in newcastle. parents in stirling but are moving to York this year so no more free hols in Scotland :(

I have hot ribena for blood now but it's working, cold is going...

Clarella · 17/01/2013 18:00

I worked at a school north of the river which looked over onto the gateshead ikea. it's a rough area. a girl was enrolled in nursery - her name; Ikea Confused Grin we also has a shakira, terine and a Mercedes.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 17/01/2013 18:14

Rofl clarella do you think that was where she was conceived?

StuntNun · 17/01/2013 18:19

I'll be over in Manchester at half term (week commencing 18 February) so I could make a Warrington Ikea meet then.

J has been asleep most of the day following his vaccinations yesterday.
I'm not sure whether it's related, did anyone else find this? His leg doesn't look as sore now. He was supposed to have his BCG tomorrow but I don't want him to have it so young. My older boys both had theirs this year and it took months to heal up, I don't really want to put J through that unnecessarily. There are only 30 cases of TB a year in NI so it's not exactly high risk for him.
