My dh is ok. He doesn't do any much housework but does play and help out with ds so I can ride. He plays squash so I think were about equal. He works in the day, I look after ds. In the evenings we share it. When we were both working full time plus helping with the family business and me the pub we had a cleaner!! When I go back to work I think I'll get another one.

I can't really advise about self settling. One day I decided to pop him into his basket and just hold him in there. He fell asleep. So that's what we do. Some nights ge doesn't need holding. He's thankfully like us in that routine suits him. Both dh and I also liked routine and still do.

Oh and on fb there was a very beautiful front room. The only time my houses look like that are if they going back onto the rental Market or up for sale!!! It's neat and clean but lived in!!!

Catbag · 13/01/2013 10:54

Don't LOs need to be sitting unaided before they can go in a bumbo?

horseylady · 13/01/2013 10:55

Bumbo fab!!! Ds likes sitting up. So he can sit up and watch us.

horseylady · 13/01/2013 10:56

Cat no they are very well supported. They nee head control but I think you buy a restrained. Will post pics in fb now!

Catbag · 13/01/2013 10:56

Ok, scratch my last... I have consulted Professor Google :)

TheDetective · 13/01/2013 10:56

Can I post?!!

ValiumQueen · 13/01/2013 10:57

3 months up apparently cat but when I put DD1 in at 3 months, she was kinda slumped down and did not look happy.

applepieinthesky · 13/01/2013 10:57

No catbag it says on the box as long as they can hold their head up on their own, the bumbo helps them sit up. DS is fine in it.

ValiumQueen · 13/01/2013 10:57

detective of course!

Catbag · 13/01/2013 10:57

Ooo, speedy replying ladies! Am just looking at their website and imagining DH's face when yet more baby equipment appears in the house Grin

applepieinthesky · 13/01/2013 10:58

DS is only 8.5 weeks but he is really strong and has excellent head control.

Catbag · 13/01/2013 10:59

Yep I've added another pic to fb with the tray on.

GTbaby · 13/01/2013 11:08

Detective the post rationing is not being enforced yet. We need a few more night time can't sleep refinement discussions.

TheDetective · 13/01/2013 11:13

Bloody men! After a shitty week I was looking forward to DP giving me the night off last night.

It ended up me waking him at 330 (after he had spent from 12-2 trying to get his leg over with no joy Grin and me telling him to go the fuck to sleep or he won't manage the feed) and he did manage to get up after a few pokes punches. Then I wake to crying again at 730. Look in basket. No baby. Look at DP. Baby propped up on his knees (?!?!) while he shores the fuck away. Seriously, the baby is crying on him, and this still fails to wake him? Poke punch him again and ask why Oscar is sitting up between his knees. He doesn't know. He asks for his dummy to put him back to sleep. I ask him if he thinks that maybe, just maybe he might have woke for a feed??! So off he trundles. One poor wet through baby is handed to me, wet with DPs sweat!! A full change and feed later, Oscar is asleep. Again on DP. Although this time I did see him attepmt transfer after 2 minutes of cuddles. So then when Oscar wakes at 1030 I once again wake him and he wonders why Oscar is crying and I hear the exasperated 'oh please just go to sleep Oscar'. He is due a feed! What do you think could be possibly wrong with him!!

I refuse to give up. He has to learn .

ignores fact I did 1030 feed and DP was nearly crying because he has to be up in an hour hahaha welcome to the world of having babies.

TheDetective · 13/01/2013 11:17

At least he is willing. That's all I can say!

KissysUnderTheMisteltoe · 13/01/2013 11:18

Thanks for the kind words, I am hoping as DD1 only had a few spots and wasn't too poorly that LO will get off lightly too, fingers crossed. I have some virasoothe gel VQ but it says from 6 months so will just use calamine aqueous cream.

In better news, the lump in my boob has gone thank goodness. Wondering if it was the lectithin I took that did it, or maybe just pressure? Anyway am v relieved.

We've got a bumboo seat in the loft too so will have to get it down.

GT and rowing, your word limit posts over night really made me laugh Grin

BigPigLittlePig · 13/01/2013 11:27

Chick I too have been wondering about this Ewan character but am too poor to buy it However, last night dh bought a £1.99 battery operated lamp that slowly changes colour. O.M.G. LO slept! Lots! In her own bed until i missed her being in my bed Maybe something to try?

LO has conjunctivitis so off to out oh hours gp - have never seen so many drs in my life until now!

Titsalinabumsquash · 13/01/2013 11:34

I have a bumbo! I forgot until you posted about them, my friend gave me one when I was pregnant, I never used one with the older boys, I'll have to fish it out and see if J likes it, he has some awesome head control so it might be an idea. Smile

glendathegoodwitch · 13/01/2013 11:36

gt hope you have a fab party - does LO have a special outfit??

Gosh it is sooooo frickin cold out - had to nip out and get dd1 a birthday cake - her bday is tomorrow but were going out for bday meal later!

Dottie is too rocking a gruffalo baby gro - I went a bit gruffalo and hungry caterpillar mad and got sleeping bags, vests, teddies and a load of other crap!!!

I'm enjoying the peace n quiet while dh, ds & dd1 are at ice skating!!

I've got my uni intro day on weds so will be out of the house between 8-5 I'm aiming to pump 4ozs per morning incl weds so should have 20ozs - ill make a ff up too but this should be enough to see Dottie through until I get home???

RoLoh · 13/01/2013 11:51

Hi all, my dd is now 9 weeks (I think! I've lost track a bit ...). Back on the topic of sleeping, she is ok at night - often does 9pm to 4am - but it's the daytime napping that we have trouble with. She just won't sleep in her basket and the only place she's slept for more than 15 mins is on my chest.

However my friend popped over the other day with some pressies and one of them is this fleece sleeping bag/outdoor suit thing from Gap. I discovered that if I put her in it and zip her arms in the main body bit rather than putting them through the arm holes (kind of like swaddling which I've never managed to enforce), she goes right off to sleep - even in her cot! What I'll do when the weather starts to get warmer I don't know ...

kirrinIsland · 13/01/2013 12:05

kissy :( about the chicken pox, hopefully it won't be too bad.

bigpig we have conjunctivitis here too, along with very fetching blotchy rash all over her face - bless her, she's not looking her best!

Not too bad a night here. Giving a bottle of ebm in the middle of the night seems to be working. She doesn't sleep any longer but she settles back down quicker, so I'm not up for 2-3 hours any more - bliss :)
