Don't know about Derby itself, but Nottingham is due more heavy snow tomorrow and Saturday, and there is light snow coming down now! I'm going to Leicester tomorrow, fingers crossed the roads stay clear.

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 17/01/2013 16:06

I just found half a message I was trying to post at 4am but I fell asleep. Lol.

Me and Ethan are snuggling while the big kids tidy their bedrooms. This is the life.

pidj you're doing so well I'm in awe. I agree to pinning people down to a date to help out.

FoD my ds and dd both rolled off the bed more than once and have lived to the ripe old age of 6 and 8 with relatively few injuries and no trips to a+e for accidents. Don't beat yourself up, one of my favourite sayings about babies is 'they bounce quite well'. They're built of sturdier stuff than we give them credit for. Don't feel bad, we all do it. and in 2 years your LO may well be trying to climb and launch themselves off of shelving units or bunk beds and still manage to survive

HoneyMumandSon · 17/01/2013 16:13

Thanks eggs were going to derby station but mil loves between Nottingham, derby ad Leicester (I think...not great at geography!) so that's really helpful to know. Part of me wants to go and get seeing mil over with but I'm really worried about train getting stuck or something!

Clarella · 17/01/2013 16:15

about to nap.... thought I'd share: re accidents I vividly remember my mum dropping a can of sweeter on my sisters head when she was a baby. there was a distinctive can shape dent in her head. she was and is fine.

HoneyMumandSon · 17/01/2013 16:20

My mum fell asleep feeding my brother and he rolled of the bed onto his head- the thunk woke her! He was fine.

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 17/01/2013 16:22

Oh and I've dropped my phone on Ethan's head twice while mumsneting at stupid o'clock and falling asleepand he's fine :)

SpottyTeacakes · 17/01/2013 16:29

I wouldn't be travelling anywhere tomorrow unless absolutely necessary

Bellaboo123 · 17/01/2013 16:48

I've also dropped my phone on A's head while mumsnetting - obviously a common injury Wink. DP has also elbowed her in the forehead!

Bf for the first time in public today - only taken 6.5 weeks!

SpottyTeacakes · 17/01/2013 16:50

Dd kicked ds in the face (by accident) and he really cried! He was fine though Grin

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 17/01/2013 16:55

Well done bella (for the public bf obviously not dropping your phone on A) Grin

utopian99 · 17/01/2013 17:05

When we were very small my brother and I were playing and I accidentally kicked his head into the edge of the mantelpiece. Blush blood everywhere, which my mum patched up, no trip to hospital, and he was/is fine and a rather good portrait artist, so clearly no trauma. (Believe it or not after that story we get on really well!)

Clarella · 17/01/2013 17:12

...sweet corn .....

Clarella · 17/01/2013 17:14
  • honey, noooooo it's not worth it Wink
EggsMichelle · 17/01/2013 17:39

I haven't dropped anything on F's head yet, but I have pushed his soft spot and pulled his ear by mistake (I thought I had hold of his hat, but it was his ear!)

My sister fell out of her bed when she was 2yrs old, broke her collar bone and didn't cry!

itsMYNutella · 17/01/2013 17:56

My little bro fell down the stairs at 7 months - my frantic parents rushed him to A&E and he was fine, not even a bruise.
I worry all the time about pulling T's arms or legs when dressing him/ lifting him. I moved him on the BF cushion the other day and his leg was bent in a very strange way which can't have been comfortable, but he didn't seem to even notice.

SpottyTeacakes · 17/01/2013 17:58

Hi nutella Grin how's everything going?? Have you got snow over there?

HoneyMumandSon · 17/01/2013 18:49

D's joints have started clicking (like when you crack knuckles) regularly when I'm lifting/dressing him. Gp says perfectly normal but still terrified me.

Trip is off. :)

SpottyTeacakes · 17/01/2013 18:53

Ds's do that too honey I always worry I'm hurting him!

EggsMichelle · 17/01/2013 19:24

F's shoulders click all the time, very creepy!

itsMYNutella · 17/01/2013 19:44

I'm good thanks spotty. Totally unable to keep up with the thread though!! Yes we have snow, it's been between -1 and -5 the last few days so not taking T out for long walks but at least it has stopped raining! Grin

We have started giving T a formula top up at night because we were having such bad nights. Just 30 - 40 ml is all he will take but then he sleeps about 4 hours and we are feeling much more human!

And yes, clicky shoulders here too! occasionally clicky legs while changing... Also worry that I'm damaging his hips by lifting his legs so far and often... All completely irrational I know but obviously he is a PFB whether my brain likes it or not Wink.

SpottyTeacakes · 17/01/2013 19:47

Hmm a nighttime formula top up might be a good compromise as I don't really want to give him a whole feed. I might try that.

Glad you're doing well Smile

WLmum · 17/01/2013 20:36

Well, T might keep me up all night and demand to hang off my boob at every waking moment but tonight she gave me her first SMILE!!! Yay! Beautiful!

Operation sleep on your tummy did nothing to improve our night so tonight we're giving the dummy a concerted go - she took it for a while this pm and went off to sleep so maybe...(or maybe not of course!)

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 17/01/2013 20:40

DH just gave Ethan a bottle of expressed milk that needed using. It meant I could make dinner without interruptions, which was nice. I suppose I should express now for next time :)

Hi nutella good to 'see' you!

MaMaPo · 17/01/2013 20:44

Second day of it being very difficult to get C off to sleep in the daytime and evening. So frustrating and draining! I put her down at 7 and she stayed awake with occasional grumbling - not crying - for half an hour. If self-soothing is a thing, surely it takes less than 30 mins?

JoJoB77 · 17/01/2013 21:21

Hello Grin

Ive not had chance to fart (nevermind poo - stitches Shock) since E arrived but read often but have to say that DD1 has already hit DD2 on the head several times and lobbed a ball off her head a couple of times too Blush

We are going through a very funny time with DD1 at the mo combined with her being quite ill its been a stressful timr. Ee seem to be coming out the other end now tho fingers crossed.

DH doing late feed so im off to bed now. Will catch up properly tomoro Smile
