This really will be the thread where all our babies start sleeping through the night... right?!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
YompingJo · 14/01/2013 09:58

I've felt a bit sick 2 mornings in a row. Should I be scared? No periods yet, have only give more than 6 hours without feeding 4 times in 12 weeks... and have only dtd twice since birth, both times with condoms. Morning nausea though... I'm feeling the fear Confused

hufflepuffle · 14/01/2013 10:19

2.5oz. Back in business!!!! Took about 5 mins to come in and never really picked up speed, squirter wise, but it's a start!! Only worked when DS woke up and DH brought him in. Hmm. Hopefully I get better.

London I will hopefully be expressing a fair bit with dual pump if I can as back to work in about 5 weeks, so I would mega mega appreciate the tube!! If I'm crap and never get better at I could pass it on?

What could I send u in return..... Must think!

As is so long since expressed I'm intrigued to see milk is different. Def thicker and creamier, gosh boobs are clever and amazing, eh?

But sore now, def need to take it easy! Oh and no way I'm dexterous enough to pump and feed at same time, not with little Mr Furious feeder!!

Thanks so much again, as ever, how would I manage alone?? X

hufflepuffle · 14/01/2013 10:23

And I will try that way round too London. Tho again, furious feeder rarely leaves much behind ( I kno that's not technically true but they are mega empty feeling!) Thanks so much

Yomping..................Shock Shock.
As Harry Hill might say, there's only one way to find out!
Sweet lord..............

bella2012 · 14/01/2013 10:46

Don't fret yomping. I bet you feel sick because you are exhausted! Try not to worry xxx

BoraBora · 14/01/2013 10:55

Has anyone tried The Shred? I'm looking for something I can do Indoors on my non running days.

Londonmrss · 14/01/2013 11:47

Yomping I have queasiness a lot these days- and I don't have a sensitive tummy at all. I put it down to either exhaustion or yet another weird breastfeeding thing (night sweats anyone? I am particularly stinky and sweaty these days).
Huffle, have sent you a pm.

WantAnOrange · 14/01/2013 12:10

Londonmrss I get night sweats too! I used to feel the cold terribly, now Im in a t-shirt in January. Whats going on?

Yomping EEK! Dont panic!

Bora I've been contemplating doing the shred but dont know when I'd find the time. I'd like to do the couch to 5K as well.

BoraBora · 14/01/2013 12:20

Wantan I liked the sound of it as its 20mins. Apparently it's quite high impact though and I need to rest my PELVIC FLOOR a bit as I'm running 4 days a week.

londonlivvy · 14/01/2013 12:45

how about post natal yoga or pilates, bora, to add tone and also focus on pelvic floor?

OctoberOctober · 14/01/2013 12:55

DS conked out after jabs as huffle said. He likes his sleep at the best of times but has been asleep nearly 3hrs now, after full sleep last night. Glad he diesn't seem in pain now though.

Snowing pretty heavily here (maidenhead) although not settling so have decided not to drive to yoga. Would prob be ok but last thing I want is getting stuck somewhere with poor DS in tow. Had to abandon car in snow a few years ago and walk home miles and it has made me super cautious.

BoraBora · 14/01/2013 13:07

Thanks London. I've got a fair few Pilates DVDs and did one this morning, it was okay. Might have a look for a postnatal yoga DVD.

It's snowing here in south London but its not sticking. We were meant I go to baby Pilates this morning but its in a church hall and it was freezing last week so we're now watching David Attenborough's Africa on Catch up. Lazy mummy Smile

OctoberOctober · 14/01/2013 13:27

borabora let me know if you find a good postnatal yoga DVD. Core still feels shot to bits so not sure I could do regular stuff and want to concentrate on getting stronger tummy area.

OctoberOctober · 14/01/2013 13:28

What is the shred btw?

BoraBora · 14/01/2013 14:45

It's a 20minute routine that you do everyday for 30days. Meant to be amazing but very hard. The woman I believe was one if the personal trainers on Biggest Loser in the UK.

I've just seen that its on YouTube, so you can have a look at it!

BoraBora · 14/01/2013 14:46

October, have you had your abs checked? You must make sure that your muscles have gone back together before doing any ab work outs else you could make it worse.

Londonmrss · 14/01/2013 16:01

just signed the contract on the new house and dealt with idiot agent basically trying to take more money off us than agreed. I hate estate agents. sorry if anyone on here is an estate agent, but seriously- you people suck.

squidkid · 14/01/2013 16:10

Bora I am doing the 30 day shred (not over 30 days though) and I've done it pre-preg as well. It's fast and tough. Much much better for changing body shape than cardio. I like it. Not easy on pelvic floor though. It features a lot of jumping jacks.
She has an even better one No More trouble zones that would be fine for pelvic floor as it is all strength, no cardio....but not gonna lie, it is VERY hard (unless you are much fitter than me). It is 50 mins also (though you could do half of it)

Snow and sun here, lovely. Been out all day walking and having coffees with a mate with a 6 month old. She looks fab and just the same as pre-preg though she is wearing a size up, she says the same to me. Her baby is eating, it's awesome. We had a good whinge about weight, sex hurting, worries about going back to work, breastfeeding, everything really. Babies really enjoyed each othr's company and kept laughing and hitting stroking each other. Fab day, need to do it more often.

BoraBora · 14/01/2013 16:51

Thanks Squid, I'll take a look at that. There do rather seem to be lots of reports of people injuring themselves doing The Shred. I'm not sure why that is but I don't want to jeopardise my running (as that's my main hobby, ergh, how I miss being able to slope off for an energising 5K!).

Your day sounds lovely, too. I wish I knew people with babies. I know I can go out to groups and meet new people, but its not the same as if a friend has one/ is on mat leave/ dossing about during the day. It can get quite lonely at home but going out to new groups is emotionally challenging.

hufflepuffle · 14/01/2013 17:04

Ooof. So I've been in hospital most of afternoon at breast clinic. Lump I had refused to go away. Referred to clinic. Examined today. Ultrasound done. Lump declared a 'galactocele' which is cystic and filled with milk. Not a plugged duct. Multi layered so unable to aspirate. Did bloody try tho, got about 3 ml milk out with needle. Painfully. Keep a check on it. Keep feeding. No cause for concern. I feel sick. That waiting area and assessment clinic for breast lumps is not a good place to spend afternoon. Poor ladies.

Sad Sad

BoraBora · 14/01/2013 17:15

Squid I"ve just seen some of the No More Trouble Zones, and oh my fucking God, it looks hard. I'm concerned that if I do it, I'm not going to be able to run the next day?

BoraBora · 14/01/2013 17:15

Huffle you poor bloody thing! Sounds traumatic Sad

Shellwedance · 14/01/2013 17:16

Afternoon all,

Did Davina's new interval training DVD this morning. Seems suitably hardcore, although Davina's gurning can get a bit annoying.

If anyone is in or near London, can recommend the Horniman Museum. Has some nice small exhibitions but the best bit is it has an aquarium, not huge but pretty decent and only 2.50 to get in as opposed to 20.00 for the London Aquarium and Baby Shell loved it.

Saw Health Visitor today, she said 6 mths for weaning and if you're bf, no need for purées, just give them whole cooked carrot, etc to gum on as they're getting everything they need from BM and anything extra is a bonus. Guess this is similar principle to BLW. Need to research more I guess.

Angelico Have been meaning to say that have worked in children's publishing for years, though just retrained as a teacher so v interested in hearing about your book.

Londonmrs Thanks for mentioning me a while back, was really sweet.

On phone so can't namecheck but want to get into the habit of posting more often as love all the support on here.

Olivess · 14/01/2013 17:23

huffle that sounds awful, poor you, how long should it take to go?

squid I've had a lovely afternoon in a cafe too, not talking babies but with a friend who has boyfriend troubles, so tried to give advice as best I could.

lisbeth I also have a beco and LOVE it. DD is very comfy in it and it's easy to use.

I actually really like the baby groups and go to as many as I can. I've met a few lovely people just not very good at the next stage - going out for coffee, inviting round for cake etc...

Yesterday I started knitting the baby poncho - took a few attempts as I had to sort the size/ tension out but think I've got it right now. It's probably a bit sad but I feel quite excited about it, I think it's that feeling of doing something that I really enjoy and can relax with and doing a hobby from pre-baby life.

BoraBora · 14/01/2013 17:24

Shell the Horniman is like 2.5 miles from me Smile

londonlivvy · 14/01/2013 19:14

Olives I'm exactly the same re mother and baby groups. Happy to chat to folks and have met some nice people but I need to get brave enough to take it to the next date. Agree too though bora that its emotionally hard work going to these groups.

I got desperately lonely today and so just went to a cafe on my own and there I got lucky as the cafe was packed with little girls aged five or six who got incredibly excited about dd and dangled toys in front of her and oohed and aahed. It was ace. DD perked up no end, as did I. Yay for little girls.

Huffle that sounds like a rubbish afternoon. Hope all settles down and glad they've worked out what it was.

I wish I could teach you all post natal yoga!
