Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Indith · 17/03/2013 11:56

yes I did jam. then went to bravissimo who did a fitting and the size they said matched the bra guru suggestion. it really is fab.

took dd for her first ballet class. she loved it. now using free WiFi in rugby club waiting for dh and ds1 to finish as dd goes loopy as she is bored and hungry and I just fed her a froot shoot.

JamInMyWellies · 17/03/2013 13:16

I can beat that indith. Currently in the line for drive through mcds.

Indith · 17/03/2013 13:53

poor Jammy.

You know the ultimate best part about the bra shopping? Apart form having a wonderful set of norks (did I mention that part yet?). Me and Spiggy went shopping in Newcastle together. Without children. Not one single child between us. We shopped, we bought stuff, we had an uninterrupted lunch. It was great.

Vagolajahooli · 17/03/2013 18:28

Blimey Jam that's a bit scary. Lucky you got right onto it. Is it warfarin injections he's having? Tell him he has to take it easy, did they give you any information about what to do and what not to do while on the injections?

Vagolajahooli · 17/03/2013 18:29

Congratulations on the norks indith, good on you for getting them out there.

Artichook · 17/03/2013 19:38

Yay for Indith's boobs! But what is this about weighing? How does that work? I fear mine are too small to weigh.

Hi JJ, lovely to hear from you briefly, do stop back when you have a moment to catch us up on your news.

I'm glad your DH is home Jam but that is scary about the clots. Is he OK with needles?

Tonight I am mainly freaking out that I have to give birth again in 8-9 weeks. I really don't want to do that again. No Sir. Been there, done that, got the t-shirt and the traumatic memories and the slightly dodgy pelvic floor. I am seriously wondering about requesting a c-section but slicing my tummy open sounds pretty traumatic too. I should have thought this all through 7 months ago.

Indith · 17/03/2013 20:14

I definitely did not weigh my boobs Grin. I measured using the guide on teh bra guru threads on here.

Breathe Arti. All will be well. Childbirth cannot be controlled. All you can do it breathe and listen to your body.

McKayz · 17/03/2013 20:28

I'm so glad I have you lot. My June 2012 group is currently imploding dramatically.

sybilfaulty · 17/03/2013 20:55

What's occurring Kayz? Sounds weird.

Arti, I have had 3 sections- one of them 6 years ago tomorrow- and they were calm, joyful and moving. I for our of bed same day and had no need of drugs after48 hours. You'll be fine. Big hugs xxx

McKayz · 17/03/2013 20:57

One woman has decided she doesn't like us anymore. So instead of leaving nicely and defriending people she's kicking off. Just don't understand really.

JumpJockey · 17/03/2013 21:02

Yikes Kayz :(. It's certainly noticeable that there aren't many older post-natal groups on the front page very often. And I love that even after being away for ages you're still nice to me Wink The basket is a wonderful thing. How is dd getting on?

Jam, poor DH but at least he's home quickly. The wedding and hols pics are just stunning. Envy

Bras. I got two really nice R&P ones (gift voucher) in the intra-baby period, and now my boobs are just very sad floppy things hanging around and barely half-filling their "booby pouches" as the girls have started calling them. I miss the glory days of the 32Hs just after S was born. Though I am back into some of the ancient 32Cs I kept from totally pre- baby days so not all bad.
Oh can I make a confession? I once did the deed with a not very nice guy in return for La Perla undies. We had been sort of flirting, he went on a business trip to Milan, I said "well I'm a size X if you're passing any designer shops...". Cue him returning with super-swanky undies, which I obv had to demonstrate for him. Had a (very disappointing) shag, he turned out to be a twat, that was that...

Arti - the birth will be what it will be, lovely. I can post Ina May if you want birth stories, Inspiring but all a bit yogurt weavery so not sure if that's your thing.

So, tomorrow night I have my first night away from the girls since S was born. I told her that Mummy has some meetings in London so I'll be staying with her godmother and she and E and daddy can all have some special playing time together. Cue silent weeping :( it's hardly the first time he's done bedtime but thought she ought to know so it wouldn't be a shock on Tues am. Maybe that was a mistake? Will be quite weird anyway, but Tues morning grown-up time to visit Selfridges some museums will be fun :)

ZuleikaJambiere · 17/03/2013 22:31

Arti just remember childbirth is just one day, after that you have a lifetime of your lovely boy. Have you made any progress with names yet?

Hurrah for stunning norks. I've read the bra threads intently and was feeling pretty smug as I've recently got 3 new bras from Leia, who were highly recommended for doing it right, and they are great fitting bras. But the threads inspired me to chuck out my saggy old bras (I was still wearing my BF bras, despite stopping in October Blush) and I learnt about about scooping. I'm now an avid scooper, and Hello Boys!!

Jump enjoy your morning of freedom. Could DH prepare a special breakfast to distract the girls from your absence? Although not too good, or they'll want you to go away again!!

Last night we had friends round for tea and DD was a star. She desperately wanted to stay up to say hi and promised to be good. So she got her pjs on early and whilst I was getting changed she 'set the table' for me (that is, she got the dettol spray on the plates - meaning we had to wash them again - and putting cutlery in tupperwares. Just like they do at nursery apparently) and then she opened the door to our guests, handed round crisps and took herself off to bed without needing a story or a cuddle. What a star, she can host again, I was very proud

ZuleikaJambiere · 17/03/2013 22:33

Oh, Jam, I haven't forgotten you - I hope DH's leg is improving and you enjoyed yourselves today? As your family fun yesterday was curtailed

beans37 · 18/03/2013 04:55

Hello! V small wave and quick post! Having a brilliant time, and talking of poo, have had squits. Am so so glad it waited til we got to our luxury hotel, though, as would have been hell in our wild desert camp we were in! Will tell you story of being deserted in middle of desert by our guide some other time, but it was quite scary! Just the four of us and two camels!!

Haven't had time to read, but thinking of you all. Kayz, mine had terrible cricket ball sized poo issues from a young age. Will wrack my brain for name of medicine they had. Still have loads at home. Even now they do such hard poos I barely have to wipe their bottoms!

Right, away to breakfast. It's 9am here. Am going to try to get some sun on me today, was feeling too rubbish yesterday.

Spot, glad the sleep's turning a corner. Thinking of you all and your floppy boobies. I am in the throws of fantastic cleavage with new pregnancy. Makes a change from my pitta breads I had before!

Big love xxx

Hello ladies. Hope everyone is well. Sorry have been too busy at work/ running somewhat obsessively to post Confused. All ok with us and the DDs though as you can see from time of this post DD2 is still not much of a sleeper post-4am. She is very very cute though so I have decided to keep her regardless. Grin

Re the running, i Did Reading half marathon on Sunday though can't say I'm going to take it easy now as i did it in 1'31'43' so now I have to train for sub-90 Grin

Hope everyone is great and enjoying holidays/encouraging poo-ing/not too terrified of birth ..!

KiwiPanda · 20/03/2013 05:35

I killed the thread Hmm

Vagolajahooli · 20/03/2013 08:27

Nah Kiwi I'm still here but super busy & trying not to procrastinate. I've got to start an assignment soon & so I've gone into put it off by doing all the other things I don't really need to do. Speaking of which I'd better get started on the mountain of folding I need to do.

Vagolajahooli · 20/03/2013 08:31

Oh & well done on the half Kiwi when you doing a marathon then?

Kayz how are the poos?

Arti how you feeling today? Don't worry about the birth. As Indith says it's out of your control but it will happen like it has before & you'll have your little man at the end. I did find the Ina May Gaskin birth stories quite helpful & reassuring. Actually Iess lentil weaving than i was expecting lots of useless information.

McKayz · 20/03/2013 09:32

About the same Vag. Lots of trumping but no more poo. She didn't cry as much though. So maybe it's working.

DS1 is 6 today. I feel so old now. He's getting so big.

Artichook · 20/03/2013 10:28

I?m here too Kiwi, you did not kill the thread, I?m in total awe of your half marathon time and barely know what to say! When do you find the time to do all the training?

Veg, is this the first assignment for your new Masters? If so that is exciting. What is it about?

Happy birthday to your DS1 Kayz. You are so NOT old.

How is your DH?s leg getting on Jam?

Thanks for all your kind words about my birth fears. TBH I think I am going to request a c-section given that an elective is now a right on the NHS. I just don?t want to risk any more damage to my pelvic floor. For some reason I have a bad feeling about this birth, I can?t explain why, I think I lost a lot of confidence in this pregnancy when we got the 1 in 10 down syndrome risk. I am not 100% sure about the CS but that is definitely they way I am leaning at the moment.

Vagolajahooli · 20/03/2013 15:36

Arti you don't have to make this decision alone. The whole reason the nice guidelines bought in c-section as a choice was so that women would feel comfortable to express their preference for it & doctors could discuss their choices. As often these choices stem from fear as well as actual as health concerns it means you can get the advice, counselling and child birth option appropriate to you. Have a chat to your obs & given your history esp the pre eclampsia & he can advise you.

JamInMyWellies · 20/03/2013 16:11

I am losing the will to live over a piece of homework with DS1. They have to fill in a whole booklet all about a favourite story this involves them drawing cartoon strips, making up new endings, writing lists of questions about the book drawing new front covers and writing a blurb for the book. They also have to choose their favourite character and draw them and then write about them. They are yr1 fgs. Its all a bit much.

Thanks for asking about DH. He is totally fine he now has some sort of cream to rub on it but is fine no prob at all.

No3 is not happening so much for DH super sperm making me upduffed after a wkend of trying.

Honsandrevels · 21/03/2013 13:57

Hello everyone,

Arti I've had two cs and my pelvic floor is crap! Just pregnancy was enough to ruin mine. I think you should discuss it with a midwife and weigh it up. My 2nd section was really painful afterwards yet my 1st was fine. Will you have help at home afterwards? How's the bp?

There must be a poo alert on the thread that alerts beans!

Need to catch up properly but we've no internet at the mo.

McKayz · 21/03/2013 14:19

Quick question. Is it normal for babies to not feed as much during the day as they get bigger? DD is 9 months now and isn't feeding during the day really. Maybe every other day she will feed in the afternoon.
