I went with Gary's suggestion, as it was quite awesome and indeed factual!

:o

Onwards?

Happy Birthday Freya!!

Aethel, Envy of your vinyl buying, DH won't amuse the idea of me having a record player, he just doesn't understand that it sounds better. The crackle, the hiss...the clicks.

Had a DS free night at best mates last night, came home this evening with best mate, guess who DS ran towards first! Ungrateful swine Grin

plu, hope you find somewhere else soon, what a bastardly thing to do!

CheungFun · 12/01/2013 19:55

Evening everyone :)

DS has now figured out that he can take a few steps (about 10) and is very happy with himself :) It's lovely watching him wobbling along!

Happy Birthday Freya and to all the babies I'm sure I've missed some along the way :)

Hope you find somewhere suitable Plu at least now you've declare red hopefully the idea of packing up boxes isn't so daunting! Not ideal though when you wanted to extend the lease.

I agree Figgy it's wierd looking in the big boys section! DS is now wearing 18 - 24 months size with legs and sleeved rolled up. I guess he would fit 12-18 month size perfectly, but if it's too big it'll last longer.

DS has about 150mls of milk with his cereal in the morning, a yogurt every day and probably about 50mls of milk from his cup. He eats for England though, he has two weetabix for breakfast and 9 times out of 10 finishes it, for lunch he devoured a 2 egg omelette, and pasta is a big favourite!

The bog standard tommee tippee cup is DS's favourite, and I've bought a Nuby cup and put his milk in that as it doesn't spill everywhere! I don't mind water on the floor, but I don't want milk everywhere!

FestiveFiggy · 12/01/2013 21:52

Ds seems to think brushing his teeth is a pre bed snack he will not let me near them other than to suck on the brush. He is also teething atm very grumpy, dribbling, finger chewing luckily he also loves his teething powders.

I dont think he has pooed since thursday not sure what to do Confused

pluCaChange · 12/01/2013 22:10

Snap with the toothpaste snack!

NorthernChinchilla · 12/01/2013 22:36

Wow, that's really appalling Plu! Do let us know you've got something lined up...but not what you need with small children, on many, many levels.

We've just had to retire the first pair of DS's 12-18 month dungarees, and I've stocked up on the next size up- there are two more 12-18 month ones that don't really fit around his middle any more, so we'll need the new size soon enough!

Personally I prefer dungarees, and ones that unbutton at the bottom, but all you can seem to get from 18/24 months up, depending on store, are separates. Really don't want to have to wrestle him in and out of trousers each nappy change, but it looks like in about 4 months (when he grows out of the next bloody size Hmm) I'll have to.
And I don't want him in big boy clothes, he's my baaaaaaaby! With you on that one figgy.

Got the work done today whilst DP took DS out and did the food shop, so it's a trip to the park- if it's not too arctic- and then settling down to the footie tomorrow Smile

LittleMissFantabulous · 13/01/2013 06:58

Octoboy has bumpox!:( he seems to have caught Boo's pox, but they're mostly contained to the nappy area >_

FestiveFiggy · 13/01/2013 07:50

Why is it on the 1 Sunday dh has to be up and out by 7 for a day out waking me up in the process does DS decide to not wake in the morning he's still asleep now this is unprecedented would be very happy if I hadnt been awake an hour and a half.

It's cold might just stay in today

CheungFun · 13/01/2013 08:35

Oh thats going to be a monster poosplosion Figgy! One of the mums at playgroup told me warm water helps for constipation, but that's if he will drink it! Otherwise I'm sure I read somewhere on here about orange or apple juice doing the trick? That's unlucky about Figgyboy sleeping in and ou missing a lie in!

OiMissus · 13/01/2013 09:21

Just checked the dairy = mucus link thing online. Scientific studies say there is no link.
So there'll be no milk substituting at Ashworth towers, we can continue to produce rivers of snot.
I'm not a fan of dungarees and poppers. (Argh! Crotch-popper-fastening on a runaway baby - no thanks!) Give me separates with whip-offable elastic waists every day!

FestiveFiggy · 13/01/2013 09:59

I used to love DS in dungarees they were so cute but I think he wore them only a handful of times as was such a wriggler.

We have had some poo this morning but fear it was just a cork and the main show is yet to come. DS is cuddling these days it's so cute Smile decided to take him to soft play this morning dh won't be home until after DS bedtime and if we stay in all day I think we will both go spare he's already been stopped from head butting the fish tank Confused

CheungFun · 13/01/2013 10:02

The "cork" :o Figgy I think your DS sounds so like mine!

Aethelfleda · 13/01/2013 18:12

Oh no for the pox LMF! hope Octoboy is OK.

Today's programme has been brought to you by the sounds of Now That's What I Call Music 18, and the letters P, O and Osplosion.

OiMissus · 13/01/2013 18:19

My boys have been shopping and then watching football. I have been clearing out the garagey bit of the utility room. It's luvverly now.
Then I went to the tip.
And ate Christmas cake. :)

SparklyandHappyMe2013 · 13/01/2013 18:28

Oh no about the bum pox LMF!

Sky enjoyed her first free from cupcake made by moi! So most impressed Grin

Darcie has been well behaved all day and ate all her dinner woohoo!

Now watching Dancing on Ice as we are all bathed and girls in bed, Sky asleep, Darcie playing in her room.

NorthernChinchilla · 13/01/2013 20:32

We've watched the football over about five hours, both DP and I can be smug about our results, so no sulking or lording it over the other...Grin

DS loved the park today- because DP was there we could whizz DS down the big kids' slide, which made him giggle madly, it was great.

Having a beef madras for dinner tonight, and will spend part of the evening rummaging for the blue ring and blue triangle that DS has secreted somewhere, and choosing my bloody rug for the dining room!

Hope Octoboy's pox clears up and is at least contained to one area Confused - be awful if it spreads.

Fingers crossed for a marginally more peaceful week this week....!

SevenReasonsToSmile · 13/01/2013 22:19

Good work on the cupcakes sparkly. I made lacto-free cherry scones :)

Hope the bum-pox clears up soon and isn't too itchy LMF.

oi how big is your utility room?! Mine is like a box, it has the washing machine in the corner, the folded pushchair wedged between that and the wall which leaves about 3 square feet to get out of the back door.

Eva nearly always has very bad nappy rash (have already seen HV, pretty certain it is just nappy rash) but it often seems really itchy and she's always trying to scratch, is that normal? Today in between me taking off her leggings and getting a clean nappy she'd managed to get her hand in and get poo over her top and legs :(. At least she had an early bath though!

SparklyandHappyMe2013 · 14/01/2013 07:35

We have snow :( although only a dusting at moment.

raaboonah · 14/01/2013 08:46

seven have you tried the yellow metanium? It seems to do wonders even on the most evil bleeding rash.

Having a total nightmare with DS1's eating. He just never seems hungry and then takes forever to eat and then his behaviour is really bad because he is so hungry. Totally wearing me down

mopsytop · 14/01/2013 09:20

Snow here too, but not too much. Lovely relaxing weekend, two lovely walks, although it was really cold. and last night had the best night's sleep in forever it seems, minimopsy only woke up twice.

What a bummer Plu :(

SevenReasonsToSmile · 14/01/2013 09:24

raboonah yes we've tried everything. Once it clears up its never gone for longer than a couple of days :(. Sympathies with DS1 eating, mine is exactly the same, I'm sure his life would be much happier if he could just not eat, so frustrating though.

OiMissus · 14/01/2013 10:48

My futility room is huge - about 5m x 2.5. We have a (double) garage door at the front if the house, but the previous owners converted the garage into (front) an office, and (back) utility.
We use the front bit as a store room, it has big cupboards in there - left by the previous owners, but no windows, and it's cold - you'd never choose to sit in there like an office ( he must've been crazy).
But the storage cupboards and drawers in both rooms is extraordinary. So it became a dumping ground as these places do. Not any more!
BOi is ill. He is not really eating properly - apart from his milk, he's really snotty and spluttery. His eyes are icky again. So again, no one slept last night. Poor baby. :(. I mean, he's ok really. Still playing and chattering, etc., but he's definitely not 100%.
I just about got him across to mum's this morning in the snow, and got back down the hill ok as it started to turn to slush. But then it started snowing quite heavily again. We'll see how the day pans out, but I may have to ask grandpa to drop him off in his car at the top of the road, and wheel him down very carefully in the buggy.
The view from the house is lovely! I've put a pic on fb. I really don't mind being snowed in here at all!

Faffin · 14/01/2013 12:22

We didn't have too much snow this morning, but it's coming down quite heavily now. Keeping a careful eye because I don't want DS getting stranded at nursery. Glad I have a 4 by 4, it's impossible to get out of our village without it. I still hate driving in the snow though!

FestiveFiggy · 14/01/2013 12:44

very impressed with the snowage at Ashworth Towers Oi Bristol remains snow free ......for now.i think we are going to miss it.

I didnt see DS this morning he was still asleep when i went to work so am going to skip zumba tonight and go tomorrow instead, had bad news at work today they restructuring our whole way of working there are no redundancies at the moment however i expect that will be on the way i wouldnt mind as i love the company and the people, work PT however dont like how we do things and my role is quite restrictive....basically they splitting our role again and we can decide which route we want to go down further specialising and making me less employable in the outside market .......i would leave but need/want to work PT so i have a Friday with DS and there are no PT jobs out there...grr Need to make a decision but as i am too lazy to wash my car so i can sell it i cant see me updating my cv and applying for new jobs anytime soon Smile.

jigglebum · 14/01/2013 14:11

No snow here but miserable! We got out yesterday for a long but incredibly muddly walk whilst the sun shone.

Gosh - I knew Freya didnt eat much but wow 2 weetabix and a 2 egg omelette! Freya will sometimes on a good day eat a quarter of a weetabix for brekkie! No wonder she is still hungry in the night. She is a rubbish eater - not in terms of tastes, just quantities are minute.

We are starting sleep training with F. Going hard core and for cry it out as if we go in it gets worse. She wakes after 45 mins of going down. Saturday night she cried for 25 mins and then slept and last night just for 2/3 minutes and slept (sadly she then woke at 1, 3.30 and 5.30 - but one step at a time!

MissRee · 14/01/2013 15:23

Not much snow here either! It is snowing in London on and off but it's far too wet to settle Hmm

Freya had her jabs this morning. Mum said she was a little star and is absolutely fine Grin

I won another feedback competition thingy on here this morning! £50 of amazon vouchers so I'm treating myself to some new cookware. That's £250 in prizes I've had from MN in the last month!
