I went with Gary's suggestion, as it was quite awesome and indeed factual!

The problem with 'nothing tastes as good as skinny feels' is chocolate.

I'm so tired, DS has been waking up upset at 4am or half 4 pretty much every day this week. Today I took him to the spare bed as it's my day off and DH was going to work so I thought I'd let him get some mroe sleep. DS however, does not 'get' co-sleeping: He doesn't want to share a bed with me, he wants to sleep on-top of me. Literally, I had to lie on my back and he lay tummy to tummy and snored/drooled all over my chest. It was not restful. I did manage to get a nap in later when he had his afternoon nap though. We did some painting today, which was v messy (if you're on FB with me I put some pics up) and resulted in two baths. He swallowed a lot of glitter and paint too, so there is a chance he might be shitting rainbows over the next couple of days.

Oi well done on the weightloss.

Sparkly good news on the referral. Hope it's helpful!

Seven yeay for garage conversion, have fun clearing out the junk!

We use the tommee tippee cup, it's the one with quite a flat lid (everyone seems to have it), and a tesco own brand sippy cup. They're just free flow sippy cups. We have a doidy cup, but I have come to the conclusion that it's the most ridiculous, useless piece of shite ever invented. I might as well just run my baby under the tap.

pluCaChange · 11/01/2013 21:46

Hope you all catch up.onsleep, seven!

Oi, what did you mean, "works 24 hours" Is that a day?! Or a week?

Aethelfleda · 11/01/2013 22:03

Hee hee easily with the Doidy cup. We have a couple: the girls were never very "into" them, but I think I'll be using them with DS's milk drinks when I want to drop the volume he has in the day (he's still downing 4 seven ounce bottles a day, milk monster, and chugs them from a bottle in about two minutes flat! )

pluCaChange · 11/01/2013 22:06

LOL at shitting rainbows: that's what PFBs do! I once took DS to a MN product test, and he didn't like the creche, but stayed there long enough to eat blue crayon and give his teeth blue haloes and turn his poo heavenly azure. Grin

He's no angel today: we wasted loads of time going out to the leisure centre for him to have a swimming trial, snd the little fecker refused to do it. I'm afraid I have been very vocal in my disappointment, but I just want him to have some interests which aren't on a screen. I was an introverted child, too, so I do sympathise with not wanting to go out and do things, but he doesn't like such a variety of things that it's just impossible. That is: he's just rejecting everything to exert control. I'm paeticularly pissed off with his having to be told ten times, until I shout, that has has to pull his pants and trousers up after the loo: that's the silliest and most inconvenient thing he could be refusing to do (unless there's something more basic which comes up tomirrow). Oh, and his urine magically disappears without his having to go to the loo. When DD actuslly did that (the reflux). it meant she was very ill, and caused her real pain.

Argh! I must be pissed off: I typed out all that rant on my phone! Shock

pluCaChange · 11/01/2013 22:08

aethel, who's really being abandoned: the children or DH?

SparklyandHappyMe2013 · 11/01/2013 22:37

DH & I are back from a nice meal out. & the girls are tucked up in bed fast asleep, curtesy of my mum!

Night all! Will catch up properly tomorrow!

OiMissus · 11/01/2013 23:39

Yep 7, did EBF until work got in the way. There's no milk allergy, it's just this monster phlegm production thing.
figgy me too. I never kept any food in my house that you could just eat (apart from cheese). Everything had to be cooked or prepared / I never bought bread or snacks. The I got pg and went to carb heaven.Grin
easily what other things have we been duped into buying by well-meaning HVs? The doidy cup - I agree is pure nonsense. It sits in the drawer with other free flow cups.when he starts to give a rats ar$e about being wet through, I'll introduce him to open cups.
24 hrs - they provide a 24 hr service - so for shift workers etc. plu
aethel enjoy tomorrow!
I'll be looking at fancy dress costumes. Oh the joy...

OiMissus · 12/01/2013 08:19

What's going on? BOi is still asleep. (In my bed, obviously, but still asleep). I feel like I should be doing stuff, rather than enjoying this lie in.

NorthernChinchilla · 12/01/2013 08:20

Equally Grin re. shitting rainbows easily...

And I remember you saying about your DS plu, that's brilliant! I shall now always think of work in terms of a 'death march', fantastic phrase...and it's such a shame, you're right, I was skipping home in summer.

DS remembers me now, life is better: it's funny that SAHP parents often say they get pee'd off with DC wanting the other parent, who just has to walk through the door to be wonderful, and WOHP go on about missing the DCs and how they prefer the other parent!
Grass, greener, etc...

Sooooo......... you've got your tasteful and glamorous outfit choosing then Oi? You poor, poor bugger- the only thing that will help is that however bad you feel, you will blend into the background of 3 563 929 other women wearing the same thing. Are you going soon btw, as if so, doubly poor you- Blackpool this time of year is windy as feck and bleak.

Figgy, know a bit how you feel, we've got to pay £850 to have the ceiling taken down and replaced in DS's room and the hallway. So shitty as you see no benefit for a massive spend.

And how are you feeling MissRee, any better?

DS has just really 'got' clapping, quite a few months after they're meant to!

FestiveFiggy · 12/01/2013 09:22

aethel how can ds still be taking 4x7oz and not be gargantuan? He is not loving food yet? Ds has 2 5oz bottles now and is still a fat bugger despite all his running about. Also throw away the abandonment sentiments its good for all of you.

We have a doidy he used to be good with it now he spits it everywhere Hmm

Ds woke me at 4,6 and then 6.45 the first twice he did it in his sleep i think then last time he had a nappy change and bottle and slept to 8.45 as did i i feel like s different person .......gotta love sleep.

Today is a tidy up day exciting stuff!!

MissRee · 12/01/2013 09:27

Freya still has 3x7oz bottles plus 3 meals a day Figgy and she's teeny tiny Grin

Today we will be mostly going out for Italian and eating LOTS of cake to celebrate Freya's birthday!

It's official, all our babies are now the bug ONE!

LittleMissFantabulous · 12/01/2013 09:30

Cotonou has been clapping for a bit, but has this week mastered independent upright forward motion. Fuuuuuck!

LittleMissFantabulous · 12/01/2013 09:31

Hoppy bopday Freya!

And Cotonou is iPhone for Octoboy it would seem >_

SevenReasonsToSmile · 12/01/2013 09:35

She slept until 6.30! hope it lasts longer than 3 days this time.

oi that must be rather pricey childcare. It would take a serious amount of money for me to want to be looking after other people's children at 3am.

SevenReasonsToSmile · 12/01/2013 09:36

Happy birthday freya!

NorthernChinchilla · 12/01/2013 10:05

Happy birthday Freya! All the babies are crawling, walking, and generally speeding towards toddler-dom...it's a weird age this 12-18 months, as they're not really toddlers yet, but certainly aren't babies any more.

And thank-you LMF's iPhone Grin!

pluCaChange · 12/01/2013 11:23

I like bopday and Cotonou! Much better than the usual DYAC non-sense.

I'm on a decluttering high. Did I mention we asked for a lease extension and were given notice instead? Cleared out the child books box today and hoovered up the dust. Stuff about newborns is off to the NCT-style sale I'm getting geared up for. SparklyandHappy, you'd be proud of my industriousness (apart from this little break to MN, obviously!)

to big bills, especially in January!

Faffin · 12/01/2013 11:56

Happy birthday Freya!

FestiveFiggy · 12/01/2013 12:53

Happy birthday Freya

Tesco certainly don't think they babies anymore DS out of their baby stuff since only goes up to 18mnths and their stuffs tiny. I can't accept him wearing "big boy" clothes Sad

SparklyandHappyMe2013 · 12/01/2013 17:27

home-made dairy free rice pudding has gone down a treat tonight...tad to much nutmeg but still tasty. Can't tell that it was made with Oatley milk either. so tasty Sky gobbled up 2 bowls!

Happy Birthday Freya!

SparklyandHappyMe2013 · 12/01/2013 17:35

Plu, Well done on the de-clutter. Love a good spring clean :-) That's happened in our house today too. Sky's room has been transformed and we now have more space.

Shame about your notice...what are you going to do?

OiMissus · 12/01/2013 19:21

Happy birthday Freya!
I didn't make it to the fancy dress shop. I set orf with the pram to the GPs as its the half way point, boi was asleep, so i lounged with coffee for an hour, we had lunch, played, then came home.
And I de cluttered the Lucy Tilly Futility room. :) My espace de laundry is heavenly.
And sssh! BOi is abed!
And I fancy pizza... Shock

Aethelfleda · 12/01/2013 19:29

Happy bopday Freya, that's all the thread babies done!

On the train home having had a great day away with No Guilt honest . Was great to catch up with my friends.

Along the way acidentally bought some more vinyl from the secondhand record shop (Now That's What I call Music vintage numbers, mostly) DH will be a bit Hmm but small pleasures and all that....

Sympathy with the notice plu, hope you have long enough to find somewhere else, and this is a springboard to a far lovelier abode...

Aethelfleda · 12/01/2013 19:34

Oh and figgy I have no idea about the shape thing, he's about 10 kilos I think (22lb or so) so not huge at all. He's got some baby chub, but I have no idea where he puts it! Food intake varies from not much (he's a flinger) to looooads (half own bodyweight in pasta pesto). I'm sure as we tone down the milk amounts he will eat more.
