Yay sophia on the patch! You both must be sooo chuffed!!

Dh has been out christmas shopping this afternoon. I have no idea what he's bought so I may be eating my words come xmas day but this is MASSIVE progress for the man who normally waits until boxing day and who bought me part-worn tyres for my car for my birthdayHmm . Anyway he bought oilatum for m when he was out after I showed him your fb comments so we'll give it a whirl. He thinks im being paranoid about the dairy thig hes right so will leave it a few weeks before cutting it out.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 21/12/2012 18:12

I really am catbag.

NervousReindeer · 21/12/2012 18:12

Fab news about the patch sophia

My LO still doesn't sleep well at night, I consider it good when she sleeps for 2 hours and the longest she's slept is just over 3 hours and that happened once! As she's getting older things seem to be getting worse an we've had quite a few 40mins and 1hr 20min sleeps but not sure if they even count as sleep. Just made some fresh pasta so looming forward to dinner. Attempting the Christmas food shop tomorrow Xmas Sad it's going to be crazy busy I pray LO sleeps through it

Hope everyone's had a good day

petite good news your DD hasn't got asthma, hope the drops work for you

MM Xmas Sad about Matilda's skin hopfully the cream works quickly for her, does it irritate her?

Damn had other stuff to write but forgot

ShellyBobbs · 21/12/2012 18:12

MM Did you ever get your changing bag of him?

Sophiathesnowfairy · 21/12/2012 18:13

Ooo excited bout your Christmas present mm did he come back with big bags or small bags?

MissMummy1 · 21/12/2012 18:14

Haha shelly he clicked the money into my account and I ordered it myself.... after a massive strop about him making false promises Blush

MissMummy1 · 21/12/2012 18:16

Sophia he slinked upstairs shouting 'don't come up' so. i have no idea! i know whatever hes bought is hidden in my office....

ShellyBobbs · 21/12/2012 18:25

Lol Xmas Grin

MM I've found this thread for you all about eczema in babies, there is some good advise on it baby eczema linkey hope it helps.

StuntNun · 21/12/2012 18:26

I have eczema MM and I hate Hydramol, it doesn't feel nice and can be quite sting-ey when I use it, I much prefer Oilatum Cream or Diprobase. My DS2 has eczema and he has a bath additive Oilatum Junior that is really soothing. Don't be afraid of using hydrocortisone if M's eczema gets bad, often one application is enough to make a huge difference. The key is to put the cream on frequently and keep using it until after the rash has cleared up. This is because the lower layers of the skin that aren't visible are also damaged but will take longer to heal than the top layer.

That's put the Oilatum Cream on frequently, not the hydrocortisone.

My DH is heating up making tea, I am having a Wine boys are in bed. Xmas Grin

ValiumQueen · 21/12/2012 19:51

DD1 in bed and asleep since 7.
DS in cot and asleep since 7.30. Yes. In cot. Asleep. For more than 10 consecutive minutes. At night.
DD2 snuggled next to me eating Christmas cake and watching Peppa Pig.
DH at work party.
Not bad at all.
How long will it last?

DS has been a perfect Gina baby today to within a few minutes. He has been feeding until satisfied, playing, then yawning and settling himself to sleep in the cot. Who are you, and what have you done with my baby? Grin

ChunkyTurkeywiththetrimmings · 21/12/2012 20:00

Xmas Grin VQ great news, sounds lovely.

Sophia that's brilliant.

PR fingers crossed it'll clear up quickly.

mm hope the oilatum stuff works.

My evening out got cancelled :( All Mummies, so doesn't surprise me - kids are sick etc etc. Will have to try DS on a bottle another not too distant time.

Belgrano · 21/12/2012 20:26

It's Chrisssstmas!!
Feeling v festive with my glass of cava and TV dinner. DD, DS and DH all 'broke up' today. Happy holidays everyone! Hope the Dbabies behave nicely with lots of sleep and no illness over Christmas

Sophiathesnowfairy · 21/12/2012 20:43

Aveeno link

mm if you do go down the Aveeno route look at the products for extra dry eczema prone skin on the link, not just the standard products they pop on the shelves, although you can usually pick it up at a pharmacy. However I used to get the go to prescribe it because it was a tenner or so.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 21/12/2012 20:44

Good one vq have a lovely evening.
Xx

DesperateHousewife21 · 21/12/2012 21:11

What a bloody shite evening, ds wouldn't go to sleep, dh was with him for nearly an hour. They're now sleeping on the sofa while I try and get to sleep a very worked up dd. she's feeding on and off, crying, half sleeping then suddenly wide awake I don't know what's wrong.

In the time it's taken to write that she's nodding off Hmm

CandyPop · 21/12/2012 21:17

vq are u following gina ford? I would love to if it works but its so strict !

I managed to get out the house , in the car then out shoppin then coffee today all by myself without help from dh nor my mum Grin ... Ok so it took 3 hrs from when i decided to leave to actually leaving and the house was a mess, Clothes everywhere , bed unmade BUT I did it! Also was gonna time it to come back for next feed but was having a good old natter with a friend in costas that I thought sod it and so I breasrfeed in public for the first time! Grin Grin

ValiumQueen · 21/12/2012 21:19

DH growth spurt?

DS lasted 30 minutes and has been feeding since. Now has hiccups. Small steps.

Evilwater · 21/12/2012 21:26

It's starting to feel xmas!
Just a few questions that I need the mums net:
1, I've not lost any weight infact I've put on weight, I've gone from a 10 to a 16/18. I have started taking a different type of contraceptive pill, should I go to the drs and ask to be put on another one?

2, how is everyone's LOs bedtime going?

Evil

Evilwater · 21/12/2012 21:34

Sorry to hear about the eczema, all I can add is go to the drs.
Wow vq I'm just, and only just getting LO to sleep at around 9. I am firm about setting a bed time.

Evil

Also DHs can be very annoying, Saturday is the perfect time to deliver presents but I have to stay in for the post. Envy

ValiumQueen · 21/12/2012 21:35

candy I did with DD1, but DD2 was having none of it. I have not made a conscious effort this time, but today reflected her programme without trying. Until he woke up anyway. I plan to follow it very loosely but fitting in with the school runs and sibling bed routine and waking pattern. I think she talks a lot of sense, but it is not for everyone.

NervousReindeer · 21/12/2012 21:58

What are you ladies doing in te lines of bedroom routine?

Bryzoan · 21/12/2012 21:58

Dh21 - sounds like my night. Dh and I thought we'd get the kids to bed then do some wrapping in front of a love film DVD. Closest we've come to having a date in a long time... Cue the little one crying for food and / or with tummy pain non stop - and dd waking up screaming and writhing in waves of pain with either tummy trouble or molars. She's settled now (after calpol and an hour of cuddles) and we might be starting to settle g too - but I'm so over film night already, and off to bed! I think dh is still wrapping downstairs, possibly slightly grumpily.

Candypop - congrats on feeding in public for the first time - I remember that taking quite a lot of nerve.

G seems to be settling in to his harness ok - though brought up 2 feeds on it this morning. Nice. Sponged it down as best I could but it has to stay on till next week when they'll give him a clean one thank goodness! I'm slowly getting used to it too. Nappy and vest changes take quite a bit longer - and I'm sad he has to go through it, but starting to accept it.

sweetpea1112 · 21/12/2012 22:05

O is 23 days old and I have started a very loose bedtime routine this week of last feed of night in bedroom with lights and voices low - usually between 9 - 10pm then try to settle to bed. Will be adding a bedtime story to this soon too (Once O has opened the books Santa has brought him). That's as complex as my routine gets so far. He does seem to go slightly longer between feeds at night and takes more at each feed compared to the day. Haven't quite cracked sleeping in basket between feeds yet but am giving co sleeping a go tonight....
