And from me (please Alice, have a nice long sleep tonight....)

franch · 22/05/2006 13:56

And from me too :)

(hope Alice heard your plea PC)

How much milk are all your babies having at the moment? DD2 is having 4 feeds a day: 5.30/6 when she wakes; 10/11 (small one); 2ish and 7ish. She prob doesn't need one of the middle ones but it seems a long time to get by on nothing, esp if she's up early.

wabbitt · 22/05/2006 14:36

Franch - C's having 4 milk feeds of around 7oz a day as well as his solids... until 12 months milk is supposed to be the dominant source of energy (so I'm told)... anyone else with any ideas on this?

Hope all are well - PC is Alice still keeping you up at night? Beatie - what about your Alice? (could this be an Alices don't need sleep club?)Grin

First exam tomorrow 2pm - 5pm (help???)

Love to all xxx

PiccadillyCircus · 22/05/2006 14:43

Alice has slept through 5 times in her 8 month life.

She woke up at 10pm ish last tnight and I was able to settle her without feeding Smile.

DS had a nightmare (about Noo Noo the hoover on Teletubbies) at about 1am, came into our bed, DH took him back and reurned with a roaring Alice. Fed her, took her back to bed, got into bed at 2am.

Put head on pillow as DS started calling from his room. Went in to see him, he wanted a wee, did wee, read him Aeroplane book, went back tp bed at 2:30.

As it's just Alice and me today, decided to sleep when she did - lay dwn at 10:30am and woke up at 1 Shock.

Alice has milk around 4 times a day and at least once in the night. I think Smile.

Good luck for tomorrow wabbit - I will be thinking of you Smile. And also my sister who has exams this week as well.

Good luck to Wabbit and PC's sister for their exams today.

Have finished work for the night, done the shopping and am now tidying my living room with just the cat and chinchilla for company whilst drinking a nice vodka based drink. Hopefully will get the tidying done then colapse into bed and sleep!!!!!!

D is having 3 - 4 8oz bottles a day plus breakfast, lunch, tea and supper and is waking for a bottle at 2ish most mornings.

mummyhill · 23/05/2006 08:29

Finaly went to bed about three this morning and slept till ohh 7 am now getting on with a spot of tidying up whilst drinking strong coffee and eating bacon and mushroom sarnies.

Rhumba · 23/05/2006 09:59

good luck wabbitt. Spoke to my wee sis last night and a friend of her had a emergency c-section due to complications and bubs is in ITU. Scans show brain damamge but to early to tell how much. I was so upset for her friend who I also vaguely know but it made me think that wake ups in the night weren't the worse. Naturally G then slept for 12 hours again! She's on b/feeds morning and night and a beaker at 2/3pm. I've just droped that feed from a b/feed and she only takes 3/4oz but don't want her having a bottle then. She also gets a top up with a bottle of 2-3oz after the evening feed. Generally seems hungrier in the evening. She wakes about 1-2 times a week in the night but now trying not to feed her unless it's past 4/5am ish.

Thanks for the positive comments re glasgow. Would rather have moved to edinburgh but glasgow has it's plus points too apart from the rainfall which seriously depresses me. Sale is going through and we're looking at moving end of July.

Pooka - would still love to catch up and see Tom before then if you're up for it?

jaamy · 23/05/2006 12:50

Good Luck Wabbitt for this afternoon - keeping fingers crossed that all the questions you want come up - let us know how it goes. Good luck to you DS too, PC!
Food-wise DD2 takes BF morning, breakfast, lunch, 7oz bottle mid afternoon, tea about 5pm and BF before bed. Rarely wakes in the night but sometimes I give her a BF if she does and won't settle, though, like you Rhumba, I try not to unless she wakes up after 5am .
Mummyhill and PC - you must both be shattered - hope you get chance to catch up today.
PC - naughty scary noo-noo. DP is convinced that DD1's recent poor sleeping habits have arisen from Ceebeebies so it has been banned from our house for a trial period. DD1 didn't actually watch that much of it but we will see if it has any effect on her night waking.
It's our wedding anniversary at the weekend and DH is taking me away to a hotel. It will be the first time we've had a weekend alone since before DD1 was born 2.5 years ago. I can't wait. [excited emoticon!]
Hope all ok. x

jaamy · 23/05/2006 12:51

Rhumba - so sorry to hear about your DS' friend. You're right - makes you appreciate what you have. Hope they get some good news.

pooka · 23/05/2006 14:42

Hi there everyone!
Rhumba - would love to meet up before you depart. I'm away on holiday from 23rd June until 2nd July. Would a weekday or a weekend be easier? Sorry to hear about your sister's friend.
Tom is on the move! Has been craw;ing for about 3/4 weeks now and started cruising within a week of the crawling. Absolute nightmare as he's very unsteady and is covered in bruises as a result.
He has a b/feed at 5am, then another small one at about 9am after his breakfast and before his am nap. Then no feeds until about 1.pm after lunch and then another just before bed. Think could get away with fewer feeds (particularly the 9am and 1pm ones) but no impetus to do it really at the moment. Has cup with water with all his meals.

pooka · 23/05/2006 14:44

We can talk glasgow, Rhumba, though I'm sure everything has changed since I lived there. Has a harvey nicks and a john lewis now!!!!
Any idea whereabouts you'll be living?

franch · 23/05/2006 20:44

I'm an Edinburgher (turned Londoner) :)

mummyhill · 23/05/2006 21:45

Hi franch glad you have stopped lurking hun!!

Wabbitt - how did the first exam go?

Rhumba · 24/05/2006 09:53

Pooka , don't know where we'll be living yet. we're going to go up in about 10 days and drive round the various areas and see whether it's house or location that's more important. It's as expensive as down here now. Weekdays in the afternoon would probably suit me better for a meet up. Alternitivly next week is half term and I'll be going to that playgroup that runs though out the summer on the wednesday am and could introduce you to some of my friends with toddlers the same age if you wanted.

Jammy -its our wedding anniversary too am very Envy of your weekend away but having said that I've orgnaised to go out with some friends who are down in London that night so we're celebrating the next night (how understanding is my hubby?)

Simplyred · 24/05/2006 17:10

Hello everyone!

I'm so sorry - I appear so little recently! Having difficulty working, keeping house and being Mummy - but I do think of you all a lot.

Take care SRXXXXXXXXXXXXX

wabbitt · 24/05/2006 17:22

hi all

Glad to get the first exam over... I did ok(ish) on two essays but scrabbled around for content on the third - one of the subjects i'd revised for, though it came up, the question didn't fit the work I'd done so I ditched it in favour of a subject area i'd not revised so much. (I can remember the same thing happening in my first year [eyes roll emoticon])
I'm happy just to have sat through it without bottling out and leaving early!

ex-dp brought his sister (over from Australia) to meet Conrad and me on Monday - She's lovely, really warm and open. I'm so pleased i've met her Smile

Sorry to hear about your sisters friends baby Rhumba - must be such a worrying time for them all.

Good luck to your sister PC for her exams - is she finished by the end of the week? My next exam is on 30th at 2pm... as this week goes well I think I'll feel quite well prepared for this one - it's my best subject Politics of Food and Nutrition Smile

PCs Alice - Sleep for your mummy!!!

Beatie - Milward - Everyone... love to you all xxx

Ooooh and Nikkinoo - I've e-mailed you - hope you're ok. Thinking of you sweetie xxx

PiccadillyCircus · 26/05/2006 07:02

Where is everyone?

Rain rain rain (again) here. I think I have a bug of some sort - I feel yucky and sweated a lot last nice (probably TMI there Grin)

When will summer come?

mummyhill · 26/05/2006 08:23

Morning

Rain here as well.

Dreading next week need to think of lots of things to do to keep the 4 yr old entertained. Not sure if I like school holidays!!!! It is really nice not having to go backwards and forwards to school but DD gets bored and drives me up the wall.

Tried a boots own reusable nappy last night. Boosted it with a prefold just incase as D is a supersoaker. When I got him up and changed him he was only slightly damp around the cuffs which is excellent considering that we used to have to change the cot and baby quite often when he was in disposables. Am hoping that DH will be able to use them though. Shouldn't be a problem as far as I can see as they are the same shape as a disposable and fasten with velcro. We shall wait and see.

PiccadillyCircus · 26/05/2006 15:36

SIL came round at about 10, I went to sleep at 10:30 and woke up at 3 Shock.

They have all gone to the park now. She is wonder woman today (took day off work to look after DS and Alice, is going to do a helpline later on and then go somewhere else).
