Trying a new method on Alice anfd the waking up at night.

Seeing as she does seem to be hungry at night, I have fed her up today - one weetabix for breakfast, lots of cubes of chicken thing for lunch, lots of cubes of vegetable thing for afternoon snack and another weetabix for supper. Plus lots of milk.

Not expecting anything but who knows (think I may boost her nappy even more tonight Grin)

Hello!

My word I'm tired - Identified with alot of the feeling around pnd - I'm not myself. I think I spend too much time thinking - the holiday gave me no time at all so I feel better at the moment.

2th July in London sounds great Wabbitt - Might come to Chester too - will let you know.

Simplyred · 15/05/2006 20:49

Replace 2th for 25th!!!!!!!!!!!

wabbitt · 15/05/2006 21:21

i'm not supposed to be here - a dear friend has given me the night off to do revision... but unfortunately plied me with a glass of wine before seeing me on my way...

Consequently I haven't got 'into' my set readings with the gusto I intended.

Love you to be at both SR xxx
Really hoping to rally enthusiasm for us all to meet... This thread has been so special to me, I know I'm neglecting you all a bit at the moment but time's so short with exams so close... You've been there when I've not been able to speak candidly even to my own sister... And in the night when there's no-one around but a crying baby or a brain that just won't shut down...

Anyway. Back to pre-modern forms of political power (gripping!!!!)

milward · 16/05/2006 08:03

Love to all - & sorry not to meet up but if I was more local I would. Our threads have been so helpful to me as well xxx You are all very special people and the help & support you've given is wonderful.

Here ds4 has 40.1 temp so I'll be at the docs today. He didn't sleep last night & neithrer did I. Have a meeting this afternoon with builders to look at a house that needs total work on it. We might take up the project - need an estimate. Could do without this today - but houses sell fast - & lots of others are interested in this one.

wabbitt · 16/05/2006 09:54

Your poor little man Milward - hope he feels better soon - good luck with the property, sounds interesting! x

PiccadillyCircus · 16/05/2006 10:24

Hope your DS feels better soon milward (and that you manage to get some sleep). It's horrible when they're ill :(

Milward Hugs for you and your little one hoper he feels better soon.

Will try to make the chester meet as I really want to meet at least some of the people who have been there through thick and thin.

4 hrs sleep here last night yipee david woke up as I came in from work at 12 and wouldn't settle properly till about 2. Alarm went off at 6 as usual!!!!

jaamy · 16/05/2006 13:00

Had a night of to-ing and fro-ing here too. Sad Will someone please tell both DDs that while they are at nursery where they can do as they please and snooze when they like, I have to stay awake and (reasonably) alert at work all day?
Sorry to hear little DS4 is poorly, Milward. Hope it's nothing too serious.
Mummyhill and SR - would be lovely to see you in Chester.
Wabbitt - (stern voice) - PUT DOWN THE WINE AND PICK UP THE BOOK!!!!! You'll thank me for this later. Actually, don't take any notice of me, I'm the worst for procrastination. LOL. I was always the one stood outside the exam room frantically cramming.

PC - did the feeding up help Alice's sleeping?
Anyway, back to work. Think I've made a bit of a boob on delivery times for some promo merchandise...argh!!

wabbitt · 17/05/2006 16:31

Thanks Jaamy!!! Can I hire you for the next month to keep chivvying me???

Love to all xxx

mummyhill · 17/05/2006 17:50

Sorry Wabbitt but GET BACK TO THOSE BOOKS.

Hope the cramming is going ok hun see you when the exams are over. Let me know a convenient date and a location over your way.

milward · 17/05/2006 21:21

Thanks for the support for ds4 xxx He's much better having had a viral sore throat. Temperature for 3 days & now just tired out. I have a temperature as well since today!!

The house we saw was lovely but needs more doing than we can afford :(

Hope everyone is doing well - love to all xxx

ych · 18/05/2006 19:14

Hi all, hope your wee one is feeling better Milward. Hope the meet ups go well, they're both too far for me as I'm up in Scotland.

Well last night was awful. I put Joel on his changing mat in the bathroom, I turned my back to run his bath, and he rolled over and burned his arm on the wee copper pipe on the radiator. He screamed and when I picked him up there was skin coming off his arm and it was blistering. We put cold water on it and took him to A&E who dressed it and said it looked worse than it was. I felt awful, he was so upset and I totally panicked. Once he was in his car seat he was fine and was smiling to all the nurses but he's now got a bandage on his arm. Sad I know he'll get more bumps & scrapes as he gets older but feel like the worst mum in the world.

mummyhill · 18/05/2006 19:19

ych - don't worry hun. You could of ended up having to change a cloth bottomed beauty in front of the whole of mums and tots as the disabled loos were in use to find that as you stood him up and started to pull up his trousers he decides to dive over your arm and land head first on the table. D now has a lovely egg just above his ear which is all the colours of the rainbow. Had him checked over and he is fine but was feeling very upset with myself.

He usually stands quite well for this nifty little operation and I am usually a bit more switched on but was fending of loads of negative comments about using cloth nappies at the time.

ych · 18/05/2006 19:22

Oh no Mummyhill! Hope the egg goes down soon.

Rhumba · 18/05/2006 20:11

ych -where in Scotland are you? I've just heard we're moving to Glasgow. Dh has got the job and we've sold the house (well we've got a buyer. Am really mixed in my feelings, my main sadnessis the weather and leaving my friends that I've made here especially the ones I've known since DS was born as we've been through so much together.

ych · 18/05/2006 20:24

Rhumba - I'm in Dunfermline, Fife (where the E-Coli outbreak is!). We're about an hour away from Glasgow. It must be hard uprooting, where do you live just now? Have to admit, the weather down south always seems to be better than up here! But on the up side, your wee ones can go sledging in the winter and everyone is really friendly up here, especially in Glasgow.

Rhumba · 18/05/2006 20:54

We lived in limekilms near Dunfirmline was I was younger but I was brought up in Edinburgh where my parents still live. Is going to be very hard uprooting but feel it is better to do it now that when DS has started school. Currently living in london/kent borders so it'll be a big move.

ych · 18/05/2006 21:01

Oh I know Limekilns, it's just down the road. I didn't realise you used to live up here. I know it will be hard leaving your friends down south but will it not be nice being closer to your parents? And as you say, it's better doing it now than when your DS is at school.

wabbitt · 18/05/2006 21:21

Envy about you people and scotland - it's where i've always felt most at home and have lovely lovely friends there

YCH - it must have been an awful shock to you, hope little Joel is feeling much better now and the wound heals really quickly xxx ...but also thankyou for the warning - the pipes are quite visible here in the bathroom and C is very mobile now.

Revision is happening but it doesn't seem to be sticking to the insides of my head... I'm doing timed essays now - bit of a laugh... I'm so awful at them!

Mummyhill give David a big cuddle from me - why oh why can't people keep their negative comments to themselves? Hope your little soldier feels better soon too xxx

Love to everyone x Smile

ych · 18/05/2006 21:42

Oh thats nice Wabbit - people never say nice things about Scotland, they think we all eat deep fried mars bars and haggis! Come up and join me and Rhumba! Wink Re radiators - I never realised how hot the pipes get, you can get foamy like covers from B&Q so think we may invest in some. Hope the essays are going well.
I've got Big Brother on in the background, I'm trying not to watch it - they are a bunch of freaks! Going to make a cup of tea now.
Night x

Rhumba · 18/05/2006 21:51

ooh yes sorry to hear of the little ones getting hurt. It happens so easily. Can't beliee folk are so funny re reusable nappies (i'm almost embarressed that I never got round to trying them)

We'll have to have a socttish meet up and we can compare babies while they chew on their deep fried mars bars ...well it's a finger food isn't it!

jaamy · 19/05/2006 07:45

Oh ych, what a shock for you. Hope joel's arm isn't too sore now. Yes, I was going to recommend some lagging (spongy stuff to go around radiators) to you and wabbitt. DOn't think it's very expensive.
Mummyhill - I know what it's like when you're flustered with an audience. Hope D and his egg are ok. And ditto to Rhumba - you'd get nothing but admiration from me for using reusable nappies.
Milward - hope you and DS are feeling better. Sorry the house needed a bit too much doing to it - was looking forward to seeing you on some (international???) version of "Grand Designs". Love that programme.
Wabbitt - hope all the revision starts coming together. When's your first exam so we can all send you positive brainy vibes?
Rhumba - It must be quite daunting considering such a big move but at least you'll be nearer family...and ych!
Up to the roof inscaffolding here. Builders are due to knock through to the house next week so that's when the fun and games will start. DD2 quite likes the noise - feel asleep to the pneaumatic drill last week! But DD1 is a bit frightened by "Bob the Builders" and their noise, even though their perfectly nice.
Hope everyone is ok, apart from bumps, burns and temperatures.
x
