I'm living in maternity jeans whose waistband I shrunk a little in the tumble dryer Blush they are an ok fit and are nice and soft on the scar which still hurts from time to time.

I'm under my pre pregnancy weight but my tummy is a long way from being in shape. A very long way.

YellowWellies · 21/11/2012 15:49

I've caved and bought a pair of size 14 jeans - two sizes up from normal but am sick of baggy maternity ones. Hurry up and deliver Mr Gap. Am just in from a lovely stroll with the boy and feel really good. The weather looks awful the next few days so I'm likely to be suffering cabin fever by the end of the week....

Happy birthday GT and Petite (for yesterday) x

Sophiathesnowfairy · 21/11/2012 16:15

My Little O has not got his birth weight back. Sad so they won't discharge us from the midwife and I am worried about him. The midwife says it could be because he hardly lost anything to begin with. He is feeding well, but pooing a lot and today seems to be having a sleep fest. Oh well, keep going I suppose. Off to collect DS1 and have the peace shattered...........

ValiumQueen · 21/11/2012 16:16

Took DS out today for the first time without the raincover. It was lovely knowing he was getting fresh air. Today has been better as he has fed, burped and slept well. Hope it continues.

horseylady · 21/11/2012 17:13

To those of you with bf woes big hugs. All of you are doing brilliantly and while I'm jealous of you all I know I'd have committed suicide by now, I really wish it could have worked.

However, those of with issue, years ago, before formula, lots and lots of babies died or rich women hired wet nurses. Now we have formula. If we didn't my ds would be dead.

People say animals don't have these issues, that's not true. The runts tend to die in big litters, we have at least two lambs a year bottle fed and horses who reject foals. Or are unable/unwilling to feed them. In the sheep it's a similar story. We feed them to keep them alive. Well the lambs. Horses are a different case.

Anyway, enough about sheep!! My fields are under water so the sheep are in, the horses are in. The ducks are happy!! It's so wet :( I can't believe we've flooded again :(

I've been at my nans today. My cousins girlfriend sister died this weekend. She was 27 and had three kids. So sad. Nan had the 6 year old at her house with my aunty who was helping out and she was really upset about him being told. So so sad :(

Vq good luck with the wind, petite glad your daughter is better, gt happy 30th!!! Plank, plank, plank. Helps your core it's not going to do you much damage!! Was thinking about doing some burpees but I need to Hoover as the vicar is coming round!!

I think that's all I need to say :) hope you all feel better!!

horseylady · 21/11/2012 17:19

Oh smiling!! Ds reflex smiles!! Often passing wind.

But in hospital after his 2nd heal test they bought him back in to me (he went at 5am!!) and I went over to him asked if he was ok (to him!!) and he just looked up and smiled. My heart melted!!

kissyfur · 21/11/2012 17:39

Love the reflex smiles Grin they look so cheeky! DD pulls some proper funny faces, which cheer me up no end. Having a bit of a down day, DP not exactly being very kind to me either - kind of dreading him being off work for another 2 weeks. Think we'll have killed each other by then Sad

I have no clothes that fit me either. Plus my tummy is still too sore to wear much. The c section scar isn't that bad but I had an allergic reaction to the pressure dressing they put on straight after surgery and it took patches of skin off that are now taking ages to heal. Not nice!

Oo sorry for the moans!

Did cheer myself up with a bit of retail therapy today, got a few dinky clothes for LO in the Tesco sale today, don't want her to just have handle downs! Also got the cutest pair of mini UGG style boots for her, adorable Smile

Happy birthday GT and petit for yesterday

kissyfur · 21/11/2012 17:40

Hand me downs! Not handle Blush

kirrinIsland · 21/11/2012 17:41

Happy birthday GT :-)

I foolishly attempted to put on normal jeans this morning - no chance! Very depressing :-( My tummy looks horrendous , flabby and covere d in stretch marks.

ValiumQueen · 21/11/2012 17:48

sophia do not worry about your little one. My boy did not regain his weight, but is looking proper fat now. He is fine. You know he is. Enjoy him and do not waste time and energy worrying ok Smile

horsey thank you. You are right, if you had continued I think it would have finished you off. I have often thought of you when I have been feeding in the night, counting my blessings that I can feed even though it is so hard at times. I am very grateful. Dreadfully sad about the young lady dying. Was it an accident or illness? Makes you appreciate your own life more when things like that happen. One of my friends lost her best buddy to leukaemia yesterday, and also a toddler in the next village lost his battle too.

I will lay off the planking for a week or two.....

ValiumQueen · 21/11/2012 17:50

Our tummies (everyone except horsey that is) will look like crap for a while. We have just had babies!

kissyfur · 21/11/2012 17:58

Don't think I'll be doing any planking anytime soon either! It too 9 months to get this shape so it'll take a whole to go back too

YellowWellies · 21/11/2012 18:14

I love the reflex smiles that J makes when milk drunk - when he unlatches from my boob or a bottle with a satisfied smile.

blonderthanred · 21/11/2012 18:15

Happy birthday petite and GT!

kissy those faces make it all worthwhile don't they. I have taken so many photos of DS's expressions which I can never show people as they are mostly post-feed and have a nipple nosing in somewhere.

We went to the breastfeeding group at the hospital today, it was weird going back there for the first time. Also had mw clinic and L has gained 200g! His biggest gain yet, I am delighted. He is now up to 7lbs8 (3.4kg) and just needs to gain another 235g to be back to birthweight.

Sophia mine was born on 26 Oct at 8lbs and is taking time to regain the weight he lost, I have been really worried about it too but we will get there.

Btw I think you all have beautiful tummies. Grin

PetiteRaleuse · 21/11/2012 18:23

LO is very clingy since we got backfrom hospital. It must have been an unnerving experience for her. Have hardly been able to put her down today, and she's eating very little and very often. Hope to get back to a decent routine once she is well. I've been trying to start preparing dinner for the last 4 hours and have only shredded the leftovr chicken so far...

Chunkychicken · 21/11/2012 18:25

You have to be careful about doing too much, too soon re exercise. I have some gentle post-natal exercises to do as standard, plus some others to do to get my separated stomach muscles to close.

I am in 10do growth spurt hell. I was asleep for maybe an hour until 1.30am, after the evening feeds, then slept maybe an hour total in fits & starts until 7am. Been out until about 3, DS wakes up & starts feeding LOADS. I'm guessing I'm not sleeping this wk...

My stomach is a bit pot-bellied but the fabric of my maternity jeans is adjusted and covers it nicely at the mo. Works nicely with breastfeeding if I don't have a bf top on.

Been to the hospital to get DS assessed for tongue tie. Need one more contact with the infant feeding specialist and we're referred to Kings for it to be snipped.

Not sure what to ask for Xmas. A lot of toys etc we bought for DD were unisex so we don't need many of those. Have been given a free high chair, can prob borrow most other stuff, & the sling I'd like, I want sooner than Xmas. I am asking for a sheepskin liner for the buggy. Vouchers are good too.

StuntNun · 21/11/2012 18:37

Blonder you just need photoshop!

I have had a mixed day today. J has regained his birthweight at day 6 which is a huge relief as my other two are resistant eaters so hopefully this bodes well for a normal eater. Unfortunately the midwife isn't happy with my CS scar. I'm afraid to look as she says it hasn't knitted together properly. It's still bleeding on the left hand side and it's very painful. It isn't infected or anything but I get the impression that it's not good. She has plastered it with steristrips but I'm not sure how much good they will do given how much movement that area gets. I feel really upset by it and I'm not sure if there's really anything I can do. I guess at 6 days post op the healing process is too far along for any more stitches to be done without reopening it. I have been looking at the Biocote silicone treatments but of course it's much too early to use those. I already have one keloid scar and I don't really want another one.

kissyfur · 21/11/2012 18:50

I have lots of those kind of photos too blonder! Smile

Sorry to hear about your section scar stunt Sad

horseylady · 21/11/2012 18:52

Stunt - hope you heal quickly :( and it's ok sounds horrid!!

Vq - that's very sweet of you. If bf failure is the worse thing that happens to us, we will be very lucky. She had a brain tumour. Diagnosed three days before she died. She didn't get to say goodbye as shed collapsed beforehand and didn't wake up. I'm never sure which is best really. Sudden or drawn out?! I look at my mil and think sudden really.

Cc yes you need to be careful. I'm walking and doing the plank. Oh and sitting on the horse occasionally.

ValiumQueen · 21/11/2012 19:11

horsey tragic. Sad at least she did not suffer! And her loved ones did not see her suffer, but cold comfort. I will say a prayer for her loved ones, especially her little ones Thanks

ValiumQueen · 21/11/2012 19:11

The exclamation mark was an error sorry.

ValiumQueen · 21/11/2012 19:14

stunt too late for resuturing. Sorry to hear that. Mine has only just healed and I had staples too. It was raw and bleeding for ages.

ValiumQueen · 21/11/2012 19:15

Not sure if glue could be an option?

Passmethecrisps · 21/11/2012 19:38

I feel for you ladies with scars - it must make everything so much more difficult.

DH and I managed I sleep for an hour curled on the sofa. Bliss

Sophiathesnowfairy · 21/11/2012 19:48

Thanks vq and blonder, I thinking my heart I know he is ok but I can't help worrying, I suppose hormones and tiredness exaggerate everything too.

Sorry to hear about your scar stunt.

I tried my normal jeans on too, I can do them up, if I lie down Grin and then when I stand there is a two inch overhang. So it's no go I'm afraid. I am going to a health and well being evening tomorrow, Shock I am going to learn how to ".....banish those cravings for sugar and refined carbs" and "......rev up my metabolism and get my digestive system working properly". Is only pretend going out, as is next door for 1 hour and a half which fits between feeds. Assuming of course we are still on the same routine tomorrow as we aretodaywhich of course is always questionable.
