I loved kate's thread name but thought we needed a birthday theme for this one. We'll soon have 6 weeks of birthdays to celebrate!

I too am the main beneficiary of kisses and squeezes, me and the teddies. Smug, moi?!
Good luck seven! V v exciting!
Am a tad Envy, I must admit.
Am feeling quite giddy for you. Smile

Xiaoxiong · 14/11/2012 21:00

Would post something but I'm so angry and sad about this tragedy in Ireland I can't even think straight. Just donated to Choice Ireland but still feel so desperate to do something.

mopsytop · 14/11/2012 21:04

It is such a disgrace Xiao. Government after government refuses to deal with the issue as it is politically dangerous for them. There was a referendum about 30 years ago, clearly times have changed radically and chances are a new referendum would bring about a pro-choice vote, but they are too scared of what it will do to them politically to bring it about. It's a disgrace though.

Xiaoxiong · 14/11/2012 21:05

God that was an awful awful x post - I posted before reading. But thinking about how happy I am for seven having a scan is the flip side of my sadness about the poor woman in Ireland I guess. I never felt so strongly about women having autonomy over their own bodies and their own choices until I got pregnant myself.

Do you ever get really sad about the world and want to protect your children from the horribleness at all costs? I wept a little over DS in his crib because I want to make it a better world for him and I feel sometimes that I am making things worse.

mopsytop · 14/11/2012 21:06

They only started allowing information about abortion recently. When I was growing up, not only was abortion obviously illegal but it was also illegal to provide information about it. So any poor girl in the situation of needing an abortion had noone to talk to, no information, no counselling, nothing, and like as not found herself on a boat to England alone and could never tell anyone about it. The poor girls, what they must have gone through. Until the 1980s or so, contraception was even illegal in Ireland. TOTALLY different culture. Awful.

mopsytop · 14/11/2012 21:07

Good luck tomorrow seven, hope it goes well! Exciting!

mopsytop · 14/11/2012 21:08

And yes Xiao, I feel that all the time. Sometimes it makes me want to cry.

MissChristmastRee · 14/11/2012 21:31

Hope all goes well Seven

I think it's to do with name changes Northern, anonymity for "delicate" threads for which people namechange Grin they will show up again when I go back to my boring original name!

KateM77 · 14/11/2012 21:35

northern I think it's to do with name changes, it makes the profiles go wonky. The photos seem to link to whatever name you had when you posted them.

Loving that the Lucy Tilly room is becoming part of the common parlance Grin

OiMissus · 14/11/2012 22:09

And thus spaketh minikate and thus it was forevermore, and so shall it always be the Lucy Tilly room.
xiao I have never been a big crier, until pregnancy, and now anything to do with babies, children, mums, animals, John Lewis snowmen... Gets me emotional. But seriously, the anger/disgust/fear of the evil or ignorance in the world is so much stronger.
But then my BOi is pure JOY. And my Alistair, the Defender (meaning) is gonna save the world. Grin

Aethelfleda · 14/11/2012 23:04

oi, you'd better practice teaching Boi to put his underpants on the outside. Just to perfect the look early, y'understand.

Ps. I'm a simple type with (currently!) a little house, I think it's unlikely I will ever own a Lucy Tilly room, but dD2 likes chatting about our Conned Servery. Not quite the same but it makes me think briefly of Downton Abbey....

Figgygal · 15/11/2012 12:37

No Figgyboy update but my mum has been in hospital for 10 days as she had a gastric bypass and has been very unwell since, looks like they have perforated her bowel (took them 4 days to accept that the fact her constant vomitting hasnt been due to her secretly eating but was actually fecal matter!!!!) and she is now being taken in for more surgery. This is why i hate being 500 miles away!!

MrsDeterminedandSpecialMum · 15/11/2012 12:48

OMG Figgy serious complaints and investigations should happen. Not only about the surgery but the fact the didn't take the necessary action needed in first place. Hope your mum is ok x

Sky has been put on to Nutramigen AA milk for our dairy free trial. Hoping it helps my poor baby and her constipation and tummy ishoo's.

mopsytop · 15/11/2012 16:47

Oh dear figgy, that's awful. You must be really worried. I hope she's okay.

Minimopsy had a temperature and was vomiting yesterday. Temperature until this afternoon but she's cooled down and ate lunch and had 2 bottles without vomiting. BUT she's a sore under her nose, just a little red sore, but was visiting cousins at the weekend and one of them now has impetigo... She didn't play much with him and he hadn't shown any signs of it by then, he had no sores yet. Do you think she could have it or do you think it's a random sore and I'm worrying for nothing? Does anyone know how quickly it spreads? Supposed to be visiting minim's grandmother at the weekend and she's having chemo so don't want to visit with a highly contagious baby.

AnAirOfHopeForSnow · 15/11/2012 17:01

Sorry about your mum seven, hope they sort it soon.

Warning rant about dh............

Arrrrr i hate my husband when he drags his feet about something i told him to do and he doesnt want todo it. He is not honest enough to just tell me he asks stupid questions about different issues at imapporate time and then gets moody when i point this out and thinks its me being nasty. When i point it out he is like "I was just asking" me:"Go do what i asked you to do." him: "Aaron have you done your maths homework?" me: "I have done it with him. I told you that already. Go get the shopping now pls or the kids will be asleep before they had dinner".

If he takes an hour can i bury him undr a new patio?

OiMissus · 15/11/2012 18:49

Good idea about the pants aethel!! Grin

AnAirOfHopeForSnow · 15/11/2012 19:34

Hope has just stood up on her own without holding on Grin

I just want her to take a step now and start walking. Its her Birthday in two weeks.

MrsDeterminedandSpecialMum · 15/11/2012 19:36

Well done Hope Grin

OiMissus · 15/11/2012 19:46

Well done Hope.
Hope you feel better soon dsm.
And figgy hope your mum is soon on the mend. Parents are such worries. It must be so tough for you not being close by. Sad
BOi isn't happy today. Not sure if its his cold, or teething, or earache. He's asleep now but i doubt it'll last long, poor love. It breaks my heart when he's unhappy. Sad

LittleMissFlustered · 15/11/2012 19:50

I'm having issues keeping up at the minute, but hope everyone is prodding buttock as needed.

I need coffee:(

jigglebum · 15/11/2012 21:23

figgy thinking of you and your mum - so hard when they are far away.

Quick nosey question - feel free to not reply! Those of you on the pill , what do you take and how do you get on with it? Reason I ask is I have changed type recently and brand and reading people's experiences of it I am getting a bit worried. I was on Ovranette before DS and between DS and Freya. Had no issues with it at all, regular, light periods, no moodiness, no break through bleeding etc, so asked to go back on it after finished BF Freya. But because it is a combined pill and due to my age etc they wouldn't presribe it so tried Loestrin 20, a combined pill but low dose . Took me a while to realise but think it really affected my moods - much more snappy, weepy etc and also had break through bleeding. Came off it for 3 weeks and felt so much better but I need some contraception and have heavy periods generally so Id like to reduce them. Have now started on Micronor , a POP but Im worried about the number of stories of weight gain, depression, lots of bleeding and getting pregnant I have read. The dr was keen to fit the Mirena coil - I was less so. SO basically, what do you use and how do you get on with it?

SevenElvesAndAReindeer · 15/11/2012 21:36

Well done Hope!

Hope your mum is better soon figgy, must be tough being so far away.

LMF hope things are ok.

Well the flat completed, and the scan went well, baby was kicking and waving. I'm now 11+6, I was only one day out by my dates, due date is now 31st may.

MissChristmastRee · 15/11/2012 21:41

Yay fab news Seven! Now you get the fun of telling everyone in RL! Grin

Jiggle, I'm on Mercilon. They gave it to me when I had the implant (which I most definitely do NOT recommend!) to stop the bleeding so I've just carried on with it since I had that removed last week. Can't really say too much about it at the moment as its only been just over a week that its been the only thing I have, iykwim?

Apparently it's quite low dose I'm too scared to google it though I do have some icky brown spotting today so maybe it isn't the one for me... we shall see!

BeeMyBaby · 15/11/2012 21:43

dsm is there normally dairy in bread? I gave dn2 bread at the weekend (also lactose intolerant)- I checked the ingrediants and it all seemed fine?

OiMissus · 15/11/2012 21:47

Aw seven that's so lovely to hear! Congratulations lady! GrinGrinGrin
And congrats on completing the sale too. It's so nice when a plan comes together!
lmf keep your chin up. Hope it starts to get better for you soon.
Well I 'be tried and tried and failed to find a nice hotel for Saturday night. We wanted somewhere within a 2 hour drive, where we could take BOi, and celebrate our wedding anniversary. But it just isn't happening. I've got £100 worth of vouchers for mr n mrs smith, but loads of their hotels frown on kiddiwinkles, and any other demand a 2 night stay.Sad
Maybe I'll search again for next weekend instead...
