Oh, and natch, exemption granted scream . At least she slept a bit. I did feel bad giving DD drugs without a fever a bit less so with the dreamy twins

pommedechocolat · 17/10/2012 14:55

Oh my god dream! You're storing up years of incident free child rearing post this stretch surely?!

Hope she's ok xxx

Biscuitsandtea · 17/10/2012 15:04

Oh Dream! You poor thing and poor dd! Hope she is all ok now. How do kids manage to do these things in that one split second?

Ds1 has had a night in hospital (when he was about 18m) after he fell out of a highchair in a coffee shop - that was a split second where I turned around to get his coat after unstrapping him and I still don't know how he flipped himself out backwards. So we went to a&e and he was just about to be discharged and promptly puked all over the doctor resulting in a night in for observation. And he had to have his eyebrow glued back together after falling off our footstool onto a cushion (but landed on his glasses which dug into his eye). Head wounds bleed A LOT don't they? There was blood EVERYWHERE (and of course I was wearing white Hmm) and when they cleaned it up it was a little cut about 1 cm long probably!

But in any event I am hoping that dd is all better soon xxx and Thanks

You are going to laugh at us all still having to deal with illnesses and incidents when your three dc have got all of theirs out of the way by the time they are 3 and you sail through the remaining years (enjoying your quadruple rollover Euromillions win) without so much as a snuffle!

And on the drug thing I also used to feel bad about the drugs without a temp thing. I would give calpol for a temp because I knew if he had a temp, but then I figured that quite often I feel I'll or headaches or whatever without a temperature. With ds2 I normally double check with DH if I can stir him from his lovely slumber but judge it by if he sounds in pain iyswim. I double check with DH to make sure he thinks it too and it's not just me wanting to go to sleep, but sometimes you can just tell that he seems in pain? I suppose you know with your own child don't you.

Oh no Dream how is DD?

We've had several A&E trips with DS Blush. One time he'd ran into a swing before I could stop him. There was a screw poking out part of the swing and it pierced his forehead. So much blood. But then, like Biscuits said, the nurse cleaned it up and there was just a tiny mark. One that's left a permanent scar mind, but I was expecting it to be much worse.

Weird goings on here. A message just flashed up on my laptop saying my battery has had it and I must replace it immediately for my own safety Confused

Biscuitsandtea · 17/10/2012 15:18

Scarlet ds1 has a scar too from his run in with the cushion Hmm.

Sounds very dramatic with the whole laptop battery!

I'm wondering if DH has programmed it somehow, to get me off mumsnet...

scarletfingernail · 17/10/2012 15:28

Posting from my phone now though, just in case.

Oh dream! How typical that it's all happenin at once for you!

Infacol is a wonder tonic, seriously. Dd slept between 10pm and 6am with only one fuss free feed in the middle and we then went back to bed til 10am Blush

Dd has been feeding since 1.30pm. It's now almost 4pm. And that was after only a 2hr break since brekkie. I will be able to leave the house at some point in the future, right? Confused

cakes82 · 17/10/2012 17:16

Scarlet I had a similar message with my laptop the other day and then it went. Confused

DH is def getting infacol tomorrow if its that good Grin He goes back to work tomorrow and MIL left today, so tomorrow could be interesting,,,

cakes82 · 17/10/2012 17:18

Dream hope DD ok

Biscuitsandtea · 17/10/2012 17:26

Good luck tomorrow Cakes - we're for hand holding Smile

We're here for hand holding of course I meant!

FluffyJawsOfDoom · 17/10/2012 18:13

Ooo good luck cakes! Yes between infacol and upright feeding she's a lot more comfy.

She's just finished feeding and gone to sleep, and it's 6pm - growth spurt?? I'd like to think it means she'll sleep well tonight, but......!

Biscuitsandtea · 17/10/2012 18:56

Dream I was thinking about the fromage frais thing and weaning. I've had some EK FF for ds2 and there is noticeably less sugar in them - as in they don't taste nearly as sweet. So if you're worried at the moment when they're eating perhaps more ff than they normally would that might be worth looking at?

EK are mango or banana flavour and have 5.2/5.5g carbs per pot (respectively for mango/banana of which sugars are 2.6/3.3g

Little Stars (which I happen to have in my fridge) are carbs 5.6g per pot of which sugars are 5.6g

Tesco own brand ones are carbs 6.5 of which sugar 5.8

I know plum do ff too but don't know how they compare to EK / Petit Filous.

as a boring label reader, there is not a vast difference between the total amount of sugar in the various yogurts, but some are sweetened only with fruit juice or puree rather than refined sugar. plum, yeo valley and maybe the Rachel's ones? DS1 just gets any old crap that takes his fancy these days Blush but i was quite pfb about sugar levels when he was wee. i was quite Envy of my friend who got her DD to just have plain Greek yogurt and fruit! Grin

Aw poor DD dream! another one signing in with a baby with a scar. DS1 fell flat on his face on a toy and had to get his lip glued together at 20 months. hope she bounces back quickly and you get a break from poorly bairns. :(

PIL visit ok, forgot that it's just MIL wrangling DN this week. she'd not had a nap and was a bit bonkers and pushing DS1 about. i forgot to sleep in the car.

she was quite fascinated by DS2 bfing- she was like Grin "he's having a drink of your tummy!"

jaggythistle · 17/10/2012 21:38

i told MIL that she'd said that, but she's a bit deaf and thought i said booby not tummy Shock i only realised this when she then told DH when he came back through. :)

Biscuitsandtea · 17/10/2012 22:00

Yeah, to be fair we generally have whatever yogurts take ds1's fancy - I only had these Ella's kitchen ones because they were on offer and then I noticed they tasted less sweet - as you say no added sugar I think. Is it bad that I couldn't even be bothered to be pfb about the sugar? Blush

Last night was ok - one night feed and up for the day at 5.45am.

Tonight we're onto the fourth night feed and DS is in bed with us cos I didn't know what else to do. I'm leaning back on pillows, he's plugged into my boob. I'm hosting my little NCT group's baby signing class in the afternoon so was up till 11pm baking a cake Hmm and really needed a good sleep. Bah.

Hope Dream , Scream and Jaggy are having better nights anyway. Glad Hawthers and Biscuits are doing well on that front.

PetWoman · 18/10/2012 02:51

Fluff going out is over-rated! Grin But yes, it will get better eventually

FluffyJawsOfDoom · 18/10/2012 03:29

I'm still up too petwoman - dd slept for an hour between 12 and 1 and has fed solidly since Shock she must be everso tired but when she drops off and i sneak her into her crib she wakes up and demands more! She's def getting milk as I'm leaky, but she's not pooing much today so she must be using it all I guess! I'm tired though and oh so bored Confused

ReturnOfTheMunx · 18/10/2012 04:10

I am resigned to never sleeping again. Ever. Sad

jaggythistle · 18/10/2012 04:58

we will get sleep again one day...honest! this too shall pass...

DS2 is up for the second time and he only went to bed at 11 after our trip to in-laws. he woke his big brother up the second time so hope he's settled when i sneak him back in. he's being a giant chest frog right now Grin

FluffyJawsOfDoom · 18/10/2012 07:20

Dd finally slept at 4am. Even chest frog wasn't working! Shock
