Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
UniSarah · 13/07/2006 22:41

Eek- my Maternity allowance has stopped, I'm no longer on maternity leave! Where has the time gone.
I've been offered some work as well... tho I'm going to turn it down I think as its too many hours , if I did it from home I think it'd take me about 3 months of having no evenings to chill out in.

laundrylover · 13/07/2006 22:42

We got our kids the opposite way round to you Astro, maybe everyone has to have a good cop and a bad cop?? Happy Anniversary and enjoy your night out. We have turned down a dinner invite as we are so sucked into BB.
I've never been on a meet up before but bet Friz has. I know time etc but reckon we need to narrow down the place and I agree how will we know who we are??? Not sure that Frizbe really looks like frisbee and I won't be bringing any laundry!

laundrylover · 13/07/2006 22:46

I've been trying to do some work this week Sarah but having my mum look after Kiah doesn't really work out as she just wants to chat. To be fair she is really worried about my Nan and stuff and I did manage to make a deadline today for a Lottery application and it didn't even have any baby sick on it!
I'm still getting MA but this is work I've already been paid for....

Astrophe · 13/07/2006 22:50

he he , and I don't look like Astro boy (I hope)

Don't know Chatsworth so you and Friz will have to pick a place.

I'm sure you're right, re easy and difficult kids. Its just my turn! Apart from these sleep/feeding probs he is a delight...loves to smile

laundrylover · 13/07/2006 22:54

Who is Astro boy????
I'm fat with glasses, a smily baby and a whining toddler, both of which are beautiful due to a bizarre genetic accident.

Astrophe · 13/07/2006 23:01

WHAT???? You don't know Astroboy? Its a cartoon...see here

I'm tallish, long dark brown hair, Luie has light brown curly hair and she is very cute, if I do say so myself!

Astrophe · 13/07/2006 23:02

gotta go, DH whining.

Will check venue tomorrow.

g'night all

laundrylover · 13/07/2006 23:04

Well I'm glad you won't just be wearing big pants! Guess you have an Aussie accent too? Can you make sure that you are talking loudly from 11-11.15am??

Frizbe · 14/07/2006 08:56

lol at that LL, can now picture Astro attempting to be very loud and getting lots of quzical looks!
How do you fancy if we all meet up just outside the farm park entrance? there's lots of room to stand about. Astro, you go into the main carpark at Chatsworth, by the house, park and then walk kinda northwest away from the house, you'll see it signed anyway! Shall we have a contingency plan in case its raining?
Oh and just so's you know I'm tallish, kinda lumpy in the middle at the mo, with blonde hair!
I should be there for 11, but have to take ss back to Leeds in the morning, so if there's heavy traffic, I may be running a few mins late (really hoping not tho!)
Uni at leave money running out...where does all the time go!

UniSarah · 14/07/2006 17:50

I can picture the scene at Chatswiorth on monday- there will be dozons of mums with babies and pushchairs milling about, all giving out the secret call sign their group has agreed on. All wearing big pants and looking for people who look like frisbees, punctation and piles of washing. Should be a blast. Enjoy it.
When mums and tots met up at Bicton we were easy to find, as we formed a wagon circle of pushchairs in teh middle of teh plant sales area!
Mums and tots today we were going thro the toy cupborad.. what a glory hole. We have inherited the contents of teh cupboard from a preveious toddler group that have now folded.

UniSarah · 15/07/2006 22:06

tired and achey uni family tonight- we did the sport relief mile this morning- all 3 of us. Eds 1st outing in the jogger/trailer! Dh having said " I'll just jog along with you and push the chariot" then steamed off inthe distance with the chariot and beat me by about 200 meter, having his pic taken by local press in tehprocess as he was teh 1st wheeled finisher. Beaten by by my 4 month old, how galling is that.
Goodie bag was nice tho, bubble bath, shower gel, ballon for boy, bottle of water etc.
Any one else do a mile?

laundrylover · 15/07/2006 22:08

Where has everybody gone??
We went on a lovely walk today in Derbyshire and Tilly walked about 2 miles which we were very impressed with. I was a bit knackered as did stints with Kiah in the babybjorn or Tilly in the backpack and then the tearoom had closed 5 minutes before we got back to it. Great paddling in freezing water though.
My washing machine has broken for the second time in two weeks!! Obviously I am distraught with all this sunshine and many stinking nappies.

laundrylover · 15/07/2006 22:12

We didn't do the Sport Relief mile Sarah but we did have a good sporty day and will give some cash too.
We have a plan to return to Africa with our girls and do some aid work in the next few years but now I'm a mum I cry at the clips so not sure I am up to it!

Frizbe · 15/07/2006 22:21

LL, your not the only one, did you see poor pregnant Davina welling up at the clips earlier, hormone central that poor lass

Aye Uni that'll be us shame your so far away......glad you had a good days running tho

Just waiting for the kids to wake up here, as next door are out and their alarm is going off....have checked front and back for them, and can't see that they've been broken into...will just have to wait for them to get back and turn it off....

OP posts:
Astrophe · 16/07/2006 00:04

Wow - Tilly walked 2 miles! Our DD is yet to be released from the backpack on a walk, but we will have to try soon as DS is too heavy for the Babybjorn and needs the backpack...planning on buying another. What sort or got LL?

We have had a far better night than usual - both kids asleep buy 9.30 and no protracted crying session from anyone!

Had a lovely evening out last night (found a great resturant in Derby...previously believed to be a gourmet desert) but when we came home at 11...DS WAS STILL AWAKE!!!!Monster! He just doesn't need much sleep I guess...I think he must have been swapped at birth as he couldn't possibly be mine and DHs son!

Astrophe · 16/07/2006 00:05

LL, where were you in Africa before? What were you doing?

UniSarah · 16/07/2006 18:06

No cricket today- cancelled at last min so uni family have been busy with jobs round teh house, taking turns to amuse /placate DS. Its been soo hot the poor mite hasn;t known what to do with him self.

But Dh has trimmed the hedge and done all his ironing and |I've made ice cream and cake. Boy has played with paper and socks and explored the radiator pipes and got covered in fluff from various sources. I think he will enjoy his bath tonight. Dh and I will be agrueing over whos turn it is to share teh bath with him I think.
HAve fun at Chatsworth, we expect a write up. In teh spirt of your venture I've arranged a meet up at teh park for a few local mums I know but who don't know each other yet(AFAIK).

laundrylover · 16/07/2006 22:07

Ours is a bushbaby off e-bay and we really like it, reckon we'll be on the lookout for another as my back struggles with the front carriers.
We were in Africa for 7 months Uganda - Madagascar as part of a year long trip. Also spent time in Egypt but I never think of it as Africa!
Anyway, I can tell you more tomorrow - erk!
Just had an awful bedtime with Tilly but couldn't threaten her with no day out or I would miss out too! She's gonna have to be very well behaved to get anywhere near the pigs tho.
Sarah how on earth do you manage to make cake and icecream in one day - you are Supermum!

Frizbe · 16/07/2006 22:44

Eeek quick fly by, will reply properly to all tomorrow, Uni we'll defo keep you upto date, just got back from Seaside, phew, so checking all still ok for tomorrow and off to bed, as up on school run early, argh! later ladies!

OP posts:
Astrophe · 16/07/2006 23:46

See you tomorrow gals...hope you're not too WEIRD!!!

UniSarah · 17/07/2006 09:11

Ice cream and cake making is fun, vacumming and cleaning the bathroom boring- guess which two jobs I HAVN'T done recently!
DH not playing cricket meant he was on boy wrangling duty for the afternoon:-) he didn't want to go out in the heat to garden, tho he'd have happily stood in it for hours playing cricket!

Frizbe · 17/07/2006 22:26

Lol Uni, how was your meet in the park today?

Astrophe did you get back down the A38 ok, was it any quicker do you think?
LL, did you get back ok? it was great to meet you both and your kids if we manage another meet I shall ensure that Izzy is there to join in the fun too

Just a few other threads to check here, then off to bed, as am shattered! later guys!

Was lovely to meet Friz, Astro and the kids yesterday - what a gorgeous bunch of children we have produced!! I really enjoyed the day and it was a nice low key first MN meet up for me. Boy was it hot though and when we got back to my mum's Tilly drank a cup of milk and was then sick EVERYWHERE. All over my sis and the carpet. Reckon it was a bit of sunstroke but a bath for the pair of them sorted it out - also got all the sand out of her eyes Astro !!
She still didn't go down until 9.30pm but we have got tough and put the gate across her door at 8 and leave her whinging til she falls asleep on the floor. Kiah amazingly sleeps thru it all. Hopefully if we stay consistent we should be able to get bedtime back to it's blissful former state.

gothicmama · 18/07/2006 11:36

glad u all had a fab day - in light of the weather glad me and ds postponed meeting you all.

UniSarah · 18/07/2006 16:39

Glad you had a fun afternoon, sensible gothic for NOT spending all that time in the car tho.
Our park meet was lovely, shady and cooler than home was.4 mums, 3 toddlers and a tiddler, the boys were all chilled out dudes.
