MUnz it was I think it's not big but it sells all the nice make up - but I think it's available online. Ds had jabs today so is a bit grizzly but checkup went ok .
I remeber feeling like you about the cuddles only be to feed with dd just try holding joey in adiffernt wauy to how you hold him when you feed for cuddles (hard to do but it is worth it I feed dd until she was 18mths )

Hi to everyone else

UniSarah · 24/05/2006 21:48

Hang on in there Munz. I thought Ed would only ever smile at me when I got me tits out for a while, but hes come through that phase and now I get grins and goos at other times too. I do try and hold him in a non feed position when we are just having a cuddle, either with his head up by my shoulder or with him facing out, that way he doesn't try and latch on through my T-shirt. Dh can get away with the classic baby rock hold but I can't.

something I'll pass on from baby school- you may think its a bit obvious but I hadn;t thought about it before - babies need to feel secure and suported phsically to enjoy a conversation/social interchange, if they are having to work on holding their body position or head up they havn't the spare energy/ thoughts to enjoy a chat. Of our group at baby school, some enjoy chats best when they are in a bouncey chair, others when they are on their backs others when they are being held, it really depends on the baby not the parent. Hopefully you will work out someway of being cuddld that Joey likes.
Echo Marne as well- Put your feet up, sod the house work, You'll feel better about life if your not so knackered.
oops- sorry if all this seems abit preachy, not meant that way- really hope you can carry on with BF at least some of the time.

Frizbe · 24/05/2006 22:28

Hi all

Munz, agree with all! and try to ignore house for a bit, it can't get that much dirtier in a day or two Wink Sometimes they get fussy if you've changed your diet a bit as well? although that been said,dd1 had a major strop at the boob when she was 10wks old and flatly refused it for 2 whole days (and my dd1 has a fab set of lungs on her, its the only thing my friends remember about her being small Shock and Blush) had no choice but to give expressed in a bottle and found it so much easier I carried on doing it that way, eventually weaning her onto formula by 6mths.....dd2 on the other hand loves the boob and has showed no signs of wanting it to go away, bar a small gripe the other day, relating to teeth me thinks, sorted by addding teething powders, so do you think teething could be it?

LL, thanks for that, have checked it out and they're not doing the single airbeds up north! typcial eh! have grabbed em from army n navy store anway Smile so all set, bar the gas for the stove, which I shall grab on friday!

hey all, sorry bout yesterday - I was having a bit of a tough day, still DH and I had a good chat - u know the whole u do nothing, well u don't trust me with our son/what ever I do is wrong so why bother thing, and fingers crossed things will improve esp once joey/I come back from our hols.

we've decided to drop doing the dream feed at 10.30 and go back to doing just the one when he wakes up - he was taking 4oz for a DF and then 2oz about 2am which wasn't helping my sleeping or Joey's i'm sure, (he's been waking at 4am screaming and wide awake since we've been doing that) also we're going back to the old EASY routein might take a day or two but the boy seems constantly tired and just doesn't know what to do with himslef, he napped yesterday for 4 hours and still woke up screaming, so we'll go back to what we know and to hell with the set bed time for the minute, we have the routein in place the timejust vary's to when's respectable - normally around 8.30 to 9.

we did have a bit of a chat this morning lol. he seems to want to chat when i've got a mouthful of coco pops! lol - typical male! in his bouncer as well, still best get off he's been down half hour and I need a shower b4 getting back to the chair for his hours up.

hope everyone's ok thanks for all the advice yesterday with positioning etc. I guess i've been off cos he's been crying so much and i'm thinking what's wrong wiht u, but on the easy I knew roughly so I think mummy/baby will be happier if we manage to go back.

ooh and H/V apt today - i'm betting on 14lb DH is betting on him being a porker! :o lol. 13 weeks today - how depressing! lol.

Munz · 25/05/2006 10:18

froz - when does teething start? I did wonder about that, he's dribbaling loads/chewing his fist has been for a few weeks, also had a sore bum, but I thought he was too young for teething yet??

Munz · 25/05/2006 10:18

sorry friz*

vickiyumyum · 25/05/2006 11:08

gosh hadn't realised it had been so long since i had been on here! glad you are all doing so well and the little ones.
i thought we were getting into a routine, lucy was only waking once in the night at about 5a.m but she seems to have decided to bring it forward to 3a.m and this morning decided that at 3a.m it was time tog et up didn't want to go back to sleep, so iam knackered, took ds1 to school in my pyjamas this morning! (drop off in car don't have to get out Blush)hope i manage to get dressed to take ds2 to nursery!!!

munz- we all go through this with dh, luckily as this is no3 dh has learnt not to nag now and just ignores the mess, but it is hard when they are used to coming home to a clean house, dinner cooking, washing done etc (hope you detect the hint of sarcasm!)what i don't understand is how they think we are happy to live in a pig sty and its a mess becaus ewe have been sat on our backside all day, couldn't possibly have been busy could we!
tried to email you re the nappies but it kept bouncing back, my pc is playing up, if you still have them for sale i would love to buy them from you. as needing far more than i thought i would.
speak to you all soon, take care.

Munz · 25/05/2006 11:12

yep no worrys hon, was after £6.50 each as i've not used them but shall we call it £15 all in cos u did give me the extras! lol. are you about after the B/H monday in gun warf?

I think if DH had his choice he'd tidy up once a week and let it build up! lol - had more sleep last night so fingers crossed that's all the prob was - althou he's been in the spare room the last two nights getting some sleep there :(

Munz · 25/05/2006 15:47

ok gals joey's 14lb 15oz Shock the porker! next stop weaning and teething!

vickiyumyum · 25/05/2006 16:34

was supposed to be down in portsmouth/chichester from monday onwards, but not down now until the weekend after coming on the friday, will be around portsmouth on saturday is that any good to you?

Munz · 25/05/2006 16:39

yeah cool i'm down for the two weeks, u have my email - i'm afraid yours stayed in my junk box and was automatically deleted Blush lol. let me know what your planning i'm sure we can sort somehting out.

(anyone else wanna join and we can have a mini meet up?)

gothicmama · 25/05/2006 16:41

wow Munz Ds is 8 weeks and 12:10 is going to be as big as Joey I think so.

Hope you enjoy the hols -

We have established a routine now but the timings vary so I guess at teh mo we are sticking to what works but dd prefers it if ds goes to bed before her (if he's up late she 's soooo tired in the morning)

vickiyumyum · 25/05/2006 16:45

not sure if i copied it right to my addresses as it keeps bouncing back, my email is vickimyers at msn dot com if you email me again i can ,make sure i have got it right. thanks

UniSarah · 25/05/2006 22:21

lol- tidying once a week and leting it build up IS my idea of house work! I am slack mum tho so don;t take any notice of my slovenly ways ;-)

A friend and I went for a day out today with our little boys ( hers is 16 month old) we had vauge plans about hitting the beach or a park, ended up admitting that we both needed to pop into town and acheive one or two things so we did that together instead.
I've been making toys! getting to grips with the sewing machine... so there is now a pink crinkly noise stuffed round thing and a flease dangly thing. The toys Ds's play gym came with are so dull, none of them are on it now- its strung about with strips of lycra, and net and has a couple of dangling DVDs and a bell so I can ring the changes. Any one got any ideas for other bits and bobs that are fun for tinys and easy to make.

Frizbe · 25/05/2006 22:43

Unisarah, have a chat with Flame on the Feb thread, she's good at making things!!
Munz, they can start anytime from 11/12weeks with the teeth thing, although there's also the odd few born with one or two already Shock fist chewing and lots of dribble sure sign of teeth, although many a gp will tell you nappy rash is not a sign of teething, but dentists say it is Shock as my dd has nappy rash on her neck from the dribble and shuts up when I add Nelsons Teether sachets or press on her gums, before yelling even more loudly if I move my fingers, before she gets her own back in, I reckon teeth Smile but I could be wrong.....
Glad you've gotten things sorted with your dh!
Hi to Gothic, VYY, LL and anyone else out there!
Off to pack the kids bags now....have just about gotten all the food/tents/sarnies/toys sorted, so now just for the clothes and a feed for dd2 as well, phew! have a great bank hols Smile

\link{http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk?rn=28666&topicid=8&threadid=177455&redir=28666\new thread} on toy making for tinys.

Thought I'd ask more widely than just 2 postnatal groups.I must have been tired this evening, I manged to sleep/doze through the boy yelling at his dad for 5 minutes in the same room! I was aware it was happening, but sure DH could cope with it, when I finally surfaced DH was bouncing on gym ball with Ed on his lap! We moved into bathtime followed by bed fairly swiftly. Ed's decided he LIKES baths now which is rather handy, its a good game for him to play with his daddy when he hits the witching hour before bedtime.
Going to try him in a sleeping bag for the first time tomorrow. Hope he takes to it as I think it'll be easier than blankets in a travel cot on holiday.
Anyone elses hit a growth spurt that making them wake up twice in the night for feeding after a few weeks of just one feed in the wee smalls? Ed's chucked in a 5am feed for the last 2 nights, thankfully he goes back to sleep after it till 7 or 8ish.
Unicycle ride on dartmoor ( for DH) was very wet. I scooped up two straglers and took them back to Princetown in the car when I meet the group half way round, was a tight fit but managed 3 adults, 1 baby, 2 unicycles and a pram in a hatchback.

gothicmama · 27/05/2006 22:20

great car packing uni sarah

UniSarah · 30/05/2006 17:52

whooo, thats been a difficult day, and it not over yet. DS has been off his feed :-( and not sleeping. I've had to go to the dentist for an emergency filling and Dh is now out for the evening. However on the bright side, DH was at hometoday so I COULD go to the dentist and just as well as if it'd gone much longer apparently would have needed antibiotics.
DS is currently 10 mins into a nap, hes not managed more than 20mins at a time today. I await the wail.
Hope you lot have had better tuesdays.

Jackstini · 30/05/2006 20:43

Wow - can't believe how long it is since I posted. taken me an age to catch up but so happy to hear of all your little porkers!
dd due for jabs next week so will get her weighed just before and see how chunky she has got.
Went back to work last Tuesday. (How you doing now you are back Gothicmama?)I am still getting into it and have piles of 'to do'lists - still it takes my mind off missing my little angel! Sad Her first day at nursery I cried my eyes out - but she was absolutely fine. There are only 4 under 1's in the baby room with 2 staff so it's not too noisy and she is getting lots of attention from staff & children alike as she is the youngest there.
Am trying valiantly to express enough to get out the 4 feeds a day she needs (for 3 days a week) but was gutted she had to have her first bottle of formula on Friday when I got stuck on the M1. Any tips on increasing EBM production greatly received!
UniSarah - we seem to have gone backwards in sleeping routine too. dd was going from 11pm - 5am but has recently been waking at 2pm again too. Feeling very tired and sore eyed today!
Had my postnatal check last week and uterus still not contracted back down so back in another 5 weeks! Doc said I could start exercising again though. Not sure if I am pleased at that or not!
Munz - good luck if it is the teething starting. You will be able to give the rest of us tips when our babies start.
Friz - hope you had/are having good hols
Marne - how is dh getting on in new job?
Astrophe - yes I should be going to the Notts Castle meet up so hope to see you there
Hope everyone else is doing well and enjoying their babies Smile

laundrylover · 30/05/2006 21:35

Any more football widows out there??? Am missing BB which despite my best intentions I have become addicted to!!
Jack, what pump are you using as a girl from my Tots group is trying to get hold of an electric one for me as she says I will be amazed.
Friz, how did the weekend go? We had fun on our girls together weekend but there were plenty of tantrums and tears!!
Sarah, am impressed by your toy making - I went to post natal group last week and poor Kiah was the only baby without a toy! Must try harder this week Smile.

UniSarah · 31/05/2006 14:14

Hurrsah for the boy, sorted his life out last night, had a BIG fed at bedtime , normal behaviour over night and so far today, mind you hes tired and sleeping quite a lot and I think I need to go and wake him up from a mega nap as my boobs ache as hes not fed for about 4 hours now!

LL- my "toys" are not much to look at ;-) mostly scraps of fabric tied or sewn into a tassle, but the biy likes them.

Jackstini · 31/05/2006 18:08

Hi LL - I am also a football widow - in fact he is out playing 5-a-side right now!
I am using Avent Isis manual pump & it is pretty good. Can usually get 3oz off each Boob. Tried the Boots electric one but got nowhere. Anyone else got any recommendations?

Frizbe · 31/05/2006 21:04

Lol Jackstini, I'm the other way around, electric pumps work, manual ones don't! erm not sure that I have any expressing advice really tho, just attempt to drink lots of water whilst doing it and do it more in morning if you can as that seems to work best here....Hope work is going ok?
Uni, I agree with Gothic, very good car packing!
dd2 appears to have chucked in an earlier wake time here of 4am.....(was 5.30) on the grow I guess!
Well camping went well for dd2, who is happy where ever I am, however dd1 created a bit of a stir until it stopped raining on Saturday pm, as she doesn't like the sound of rain on canvas.....or the dark.....so dh ended up bunked in with her....Sad although that did mean dd2 and I got a nice airbed to ourselves Grin

I had an evening OUT last night, put boy to bed earlyish and left him in DHs care while i went to 40th b/d meal at a pub. Was great to catch up withsome old friends, was a little odd to be out on my own! got home for 10pm just in time for t' late feed.
camping still sounds very brave to me. Tomorrow I pack the car for our hols- a week self caterinfg in a cottage in dorset.
