Sssshhh! If you don't say it, it won't be true Xmas Grin

Still, allowed DH to use that chat up line he's been saving all those years, "Is that vomit in your hair?"
"Erm, yes, it is!"

Just had round 3 of vomiting (at the dinner table - he managed to throw up down his bib, dripped onto the kitchen floor and didn't get any on him. Making up for yesterday when he was covered head to toe Xmas Grin ). He ad eaten half his dinner, but after throwing up cried when we tried to take his food away. Followed by nasty diarrhoea (I couldhear his insides gurgling).

He 's been fine the whole day. It's so weird. And DH and I aren't sick yet.

MummyDuckAndDuckling · 15/12/2012 23:12

Poor baby Sad

S seemed to pick up a bit through the day but then 10.30pm she would throw a good 4/5 times. Touch wood I escaped it too!!

Hello all! A while since I checked in. I Hope you don't mind me skipping through the pages - just far too much to catch up on and remember especially whilst slightly tipsy but will try my best!

C is pretty much walking properly now, it's just his confidence needs boosting really. I reckon one week he'll be off - he walks around our living room no problem.

And - we've set a date for our wedding! Next June I'll be a Mrs! I've spent the evening drinking G&T writing invites and hiding them in Crimbo cards as a surprise and then DP had to re write them after I made loads of mistakes so I'm SO excited!

Cannot even begin to describe how wonderful C has become, he' just - amazing, every day. All the blackness of his first year are well and truly behind. I think now he can get himself about he's transformed into a much less frustrated little boy. Although I did catch him trying to put a plastic bag on his head today. So the plastic bag drawer will have to find a new home.

Scheherezade · 15/12/2012 23:33

Had a discharge meeting with my CPN - who has known C since I was 16weeks pregnant, and nursed me whilst I was inpatient. I quote "He is quite a force of nature your son!....When He decides to blow......!"

He still has his very loud, outgoing personality, but as I was telling a lady in a shoe shop as he was making out he was being excrutiatingly tortured by a monster it means he is very very affectionate, very fun and giggl, as well as throwing the worlds biggest tantrums. The hairdresser cuts his hair for free - basically every time I walk past he snips a tiny lock at a time, otherwise C has a complete meltdown, throwing himself anywhere and everywhere, gouging me, him, anyone to get away.

But he is very loveable and affectionate the rest of the time especially to the dog

MummyDuckAndDuckling · 16/12/2012 00:25

So good to hear from you sche Smile. Glad to hear little C is doing well Grin

And congratulations on setting a date!!! Please please stick around!!

Scheherezade · 16/12/2012 00:33

thanks :)

engels Me, DP and C keep having odd attacks of sickness. Once we've been sick, we're fine. - I had it a couple weeks ago, then DP had it, C's had it a couple times. It's odd, there's no other symptoms, apart from chucking up once/twice in a couple hours, then we're all fine.

C has been waking up in the night recently, not sure what to do, last night it was 12am, we tried everything to get him to sleep bar giving a bottle, come 3am we gave in and gave a bottle and he was out. The past few nights he woke at 4/5am and wouldn't go back to sleep unless he was in bed with me. DP doesn't like all three of us in the same bed so he sleeps in the spare bed, with C in with either of us.

C is also the most chatterbox child I've met, from the moment he wakes up, to the second he goes to sleep and even not then as he talks in his sleep he's wittering away constantly. He can pronounce a couple words properly and tries to make sentences with them, usually involving pointing and grunting. So his lateness to walk doesn't worry me, as I think all his effort has gone into talking and fine motor skills - he spoon feeds himself perfectly now. I have a great video of him eating soup I need to upload to fb!

LittlePebble · 16/12/2012 06:55

Hi Scheh congratulations on the forthcoming wedding Grin
Good news C is happier now he's mobile, we've found the same with E.
I don't think C is late to walk its anywhere from 8-18 months that they say is average I think? But they do say you either have a talker or a walker.
E is a walker, he's everywhere at the moment but while he can say a few things he's definitely no where near his cousin who chatters away (but can't walk yet).
So what are your wedding plans? Big/ small? At home or abroad?

Engelsemama · 16/12/2012 08:17

Great to 'see' you scheh and lovely wedding news. Good to hear that C is doing so well.

Feeling nauseous this morning Xmas Sad

Climbingpenguin · 16/12/2012 11:32

Hello sch glad that things are looking so bright for you

engel :( good luck

DCs are mildly for the moment, crossing everything will atm but seem a bit perkier this morning.

I have almost finished my fellowship application. Have one thing to edit and then will send it off to the uni for approval and get their comments. I have already done one round of this so hopefully shouldn't get that much work back.

strawberrypenguin · 16/12/2012 16:07

MrsHende · 16/12/2012 20:58

Ladies!

In a state of shock.

I'm pregnant! Shock DH's first response - How?

So delighted but highly stressed about money, DH has a temporary job over Christmas but no prospects after that. Argh! Also terrified about having hyperemisis again.

fx you don't suffer as bad this time. x

Scheherezade · 16/12/2012 22:22

Wow - congrats MrsH!!! No drinking over Christmas for you Wink

CheshireDing · 16/12/2012 22:48

Yeh! Congratulations MrsH, bit worried your DH wonders how it happened though Xmas Grin

Good luck Climbing

Hope the poorly babies/Parents are starting to feel better. There seem to be so many illnesses around at the moment.

P still sounds like a smoker with a rattly chest - which she has had since September :( and red Excema type marks at the back of her legs the odd one on her tummy and we haven't changed washing powder or anything.

She has her Christmas Party at Nursery on Wednesday, then she moves to the Toddler Room in January < sniff she is growing up too fast >

Pene you are brave thinking about doing that flight with A, sorry bit negative but would rather stick pins in my eyes maybe you should ask people to come to you Wink

Pebble we DEFINITELY have a talker, she does do some walking but bloody hell she never shuts up and she can do 4 signs from Sign Language (one of which she did in frustration yesterday because she wanted food Blush )

Scheh Congratulations :)

Grand total of nearly 3 teeth here ! :)

Strawberry glad W is doing well.

Climbingpenguin · 16/12/2012 22:57

chesire DS's skin has flared up with winter

strawberrypenguin · 17/12/2012 06:50

Congratulations mrsH Xmas Grin

PenelopeLane · 17/12/2012 06:54

Hello! I've had a minor name change! (Not exactly rocket science to figure out) I changed name as I was about to start an AIBU thread that would 'out' me, but then couldn't be bothered and kept the name Grin

Sad to hear so many of you are ill. I hope you all feel better soon!

And MrsHende what good news! How far gone are you?

Scheh nice to 'see' you back, and yay for the wedding!

waves at everyone else.

We are good, although A has such bad nappy rash it's bleeding Sad. I think I really need a holiday as well, lucky the christmas break is so soon eh?

engels have you looked at your NaNo draft yet? I am 45,000 now and still plodding along, but don't really have the mojo to push it at present. Plenty of time next year Grin.

A question - do any of your babies use i-pads? Mine only uses is Grandma's when he sees her (every month or so) and never for that long. Just wondering as had someone telling me that I was doing A a disservice by not having one for him as he might grow up 'behind' the other kids. Interested in your thoughts. I don't judge people who have them for their DCs by any means, but didn't think I was doing bad by not having one myself and still think that but hey ho

sassy34264 · 17/12/2012 09:04

Sorry sche forgot to say congrats to you too.

Isobel ezcema has flared up on her arms- big red rough circles.

pene Don't mean to sound rude, but i do think it's ridiculous to get a 1 yr old an ipad. I'm not saying its bad to let them have a go, but i wouldn't go out and specifically buy one for a 1 yr old or even a 2 yr old for that matter. Sorry to anyone that has. It's just that i'm more for getting them into books. I've told dp that jacob isn't playing any shoot em up games and the like until at least school. i use to read to chloe every night until she asked to read herself. She can get through a book in a day now. And reads all the time. almost daily
I think it's a dying art to read and its such a shame as books are brilliant. I was chloe years ago, but i don't read as much. Main reason being is that i can't put them down once i start and i neglect everything or end up staying up all night to read.

sorry if that seemed like a rant, wasn't meant too. Blush

sassy34264 · 17/12/2012 09:09

cheshire it's j, I and e's playgroup christmas party today, and the nursery one on fri. said to dp last night, it's so cute that they have a social life! Grin Now the question is, do I put them in party clothes with the very good chance they will get ruined from painting activities or send them in the usual? Xmas Confused

Engelsemama · 17/12/2012 09:55

Congrats MrsH ! Xmas Smile I actually can't wait to start trying for number 2. Yesterday when I was feeling queasy I told DH it felt like when I had morning sickness last time between 6-12 weeks and he was Xmas Shock. He wants to be feeling better before we ttc, but am going to start trying a bit harder to 'persuade' him in the new year. Xmas Wink

I haven't looked at my nano draft since November 30th pen . It'll still be there next year Xmas Wink

I agree with sassy re: tablets and things. I cannot imagine giving one to such a small child. I was even a bit Xmas Shock that DN got one for his 8th birthday this year.

Hope the tree-putting-up went without incident strawb I now have to take our lights and babubles off as the lights have gone so we're going to get some new ones this afternoon.

chesh M's skin flares up every now and again. really dry with the heating on at the moment whihc isn't helping.

M seems to be okay now, only a tiny bit of sick this morning (more like vomit dribble Xmas Grin ). DH was up with a dodgy stomach in the night though, so am a little worried it's working its way through the family. I CANNOT be ill this week - parents evening tomorrow and school Christmas show this Thurs which I am in charge of for the first time. fx the lurgy stays away.
