climbing my twins have had it for last 3/4 days. You could have fried food on them they were that hot. Not the blue lips though. It was only because dp was here the sound of reason that i didn't whip jacob to a and e. His eyes were rolling and he just kept flopping (in my eyes) but (in dp's eyes) he was just too tired to stay awake. Blush

Had steroids for croup again too. I think that 1,2,3 and even all 4 kids have been ill at some point, on every day for the last 2 weeks. Sad

i haven't been the gym for over 3 weeks and i feel worse than ever.

engels maybe its the time of year. Unfortunately i have no one to do it, if i dont feel like doing it. It's awful feeling this way, but it's equally as awful for someone who has to pick up the slack. I don't think i could tolerate it, and i know how it feels. iyswim. i hope you get through it soon. x

Engelsemama · 10/12/2012 18:34

Sorry to hear about poorly little ones sassy and Climbing.

I feel like we have been constantly sick in this house for the last 6 weeks too sassy and I haven't done any exercise in at least 2 months

Thanks for listening to my woe -is-me rant ladies. Soemtimes I just need to sound off - DH knows how I feel about it, but me going on about it all the time would just make him even more down (that's why I'm on MN!).

And have got a bit more perspective after an afternoon out of the house. Had tea with a friend who has a 10mo. She works the same as I do (3 days) but her DH is full time and never gets home before 7 so she is doing everything during the week. Made me feel a bit Xmas Blush for complaining since DH is home at 4.30 and cooks dinner most nights when I'm working.

The pity party for this evening has been cancelled Xmas Grin

strawberrypenguin · 10/12/2012 19:42

Glad your feeling a bit better eng Smile

Hope the little ones are feeling better soon sassy and climbing the going blue sounds terrifying think I would have panicked

Climbingpenguin · 11/12/2012 12:51

he woke with a temp of 39.7 but is ticking along OK and is taking the drugs today.

I can't remember more than two weeks ago but

thursday before last: DS tongue/lip tie cut plus random virus including fever
monday: DD throws up at playgroup Hmm we all go down with a thankfully mild sickness bug consisting mostly of nausea.
thurs: DD gets fever
sat night: DS starts getting it too

MummyDuckAndDuckling · 11/12/2012 16:40

Is it normal after you have taken a baby to A&E that they inform the health visitor who then calls to check everything is ok...? Hmm

OP posts:
sassy34264 · 11/12/2012 16:52

No. But I think they inform them if it is an accidental incident in the home. I got the call too, after I took Jacob over his electric shock from the plug socket.
Never got one before or since.

Engelsemama · 11/12/2012 18:20

Hoorah for snot-free Tuesday. Xmas Grin The first day in weeks that M hasn't woken up with his face in a pool of molten green slime. Was having to practically sandpaper it off his face (and pick it out of his hair).

Climbingpenguin · 11/12/2012 19:34

I think it is standard practice for them to be told. whether they call you or not depends on the individual HV

MrsHende · 12/12/2012 00:07

Sorry to hear about all the sick babies and their poorly families! We've been laden with colds, snot and temperatures here too. Let's hope we all get well soon and have a healthy Christmas!

L is chatting away next door, I'm not usually up this late but was wrapping Christmas presents then had school work to do so I'm not sure if this is a normal occurrence that I usually just sleep through or if there may be trouble ahead...

Penelope1980 · 12/12/2012 08:55

Hope all the sick babies feel better - and you too engels! It must be hard to have a DH with mental health problems. I can't even imagine.

We are good here downunder - summer holiday plans finally coming together, and tonight I could smell that one of the neighbours was having a BBQ which made me look forward to the coming months. Got lots of friends visiting from Europe as well which should be fab. I am really missing the UK at present - we are playing with the idea of coming back next year but don't know if we can afford it.

How are the xmas plans going? I have got into the christmas spirit more this year than I have in years - I blame A for making me want to!

In other news, I got his hair cut at a kids' hairdresser yesterday to clean up the mullet I had made by accident Grin Thank God he looks normal again now...

strawberrypenguin · 12/12/2012 09:40

pen I had to cut W's hair the other day too inconsiderate hospital only shaved a strip across the middle as he couldn't see where he was going. Very nerve wracking I didn't think I'd done to badly, DHs reaction was its a bit short isn't it! I told him he could do it next time!

Really frosty here thismorning so I'm wimping out of taking W to toddler group. Got some play-doh out for him (new first time he's had it) and it went something like this. Me - ooh look play-doh isn't it fun. W - ooh new pots for me to play with!

sassy34264 · 12/12/2012 13:06

strawberry Thank your lucky stars he's only interested in the pots. Memory is still vivid at getting it for chloe at a young age and spending days trying to pick out all the trodden bits from the carpet. I think it's something you buy once and then never ever again. Dp got it for the twins a few months ago. I can see it as i'm typing, tucked away behind the bread bin in the kitchen still unopened. Smile That's what nurseries are for...........

sassy34264 · 12/12/2012 13:07

pen i'll swap lives with you. You come and move into my house and i'll move into yours.

Grin

sassy34264 · 12/12/2012 13:13

mrsH eva has started to 'chat' to us now, when she is awake. She proper looks you in the eye, says something in earnest and even points. It's just too cute. Not intelligable yet, but she has said a few words that are, like; okay, juice, star, etc. She's really good at singing unintelligable words but in the right tune for the song, ie, twinkle twinkle and a few of my made up ones. ( i have 4)Grin

strawberrypenguin · 12/12/2012 17:35

I remembered about play-doh and carpet sassy and have declared it to be a kitchen only toy Xmas Grin we are lucky enough to have a large kitchen so space in there isn't a problem.

Penelope1980 · 12/12/2012 19:30

sassy it's a deal re the life swap if I get your Italian holiday too! Grin Proximity to Europe, old stuff, and interesting places to visit that are closer than a four hour plane trip would be nice. I am happy here, although DH and I have talked about coming back when the recession is over if it is ever over at least for a short while (maybe a year or so). I think a lot of people who love to live in 2 places would empathise, this feeling that you can be a bit torn and only ever be 95% happy living in any one country as 5% of you will always miss the place where you're not.

Hmm play-doh. Last time we tried it. Strawberry good idea re the kitchen

Climbingpenguin · 12/12/2012 19:49

play dough was a high chair only activity for a long while.

LittlePebble · 13/12/2012 08:19

Morning all, we're joining the sick bus E has been ill for about four weeks now. First with molars, then MMR jab caused temp, then he got a cold and now he's on antibiotics for a chest infection! I'm hoping we'll have run out if things to be ill with by Christmas Wink
Engels hope things are better.
CP is DS any better?
strawberry why did they only shave a stripe on W's head? I have visions of him looking all punk rocker.... How is he getting on now?
sassy hope all you sickness has ended I don't know how you cope with all of them ill at the same time. Everytime I struggle changing E's nappy I remember your fb post with the naked twins... Grin
We haven't tried play doh yet....not sure if I want to risk it our carpet is already ruined by liberal pouring of calpol all over it.

MummyDuckAndDuckling · 13/12/2012 11:44

Morning all

Sad to all the sicky babies. S is over it now and is just starting to get her appetite back. She's lost her wee pot belly from hardly eating the past two weeks Grin

Lots of babbling going on here now with a few proper words! Quite a few she is making the correct sounds and so far we have, grandpa (papa), uncle (cun-cle), yogurt (gog-urt), no, muuum, dinner (din) Smile

OP posts:
strawberrypenguin · 13/12/2012 17:58

pebble poor E hope he's better soon. They only shaved a strip of his hair because they said it was all they needed to and they've found it less of a shock to the parents that way too! (the incision/scar is a zig zag ear to ear over the top of his head if that makes sense) one of the first things I said when I saw him in recovery was 'oh he's still got hair! Blush

Really not looking forward to W having his MMR he was really cranky with his baby jabs might have to book a day or two off work around them as I have a feeling he'll feel rubbish. He can't have it till march though as he had a blood transfusion during surgery and the bloody doctors surgery keep sending me 'reminder' letters even though they've been told this!

Glad S is feeling better duck Xmas Smile

Climbingpenguin · 13/12/2012 19:46

DS's fever came down to a mild one yesterday, he slept a lot and had a good day today.

Engelsemama · 14/12/2012 08:27

Glad DS is feeling better climbing

Get well soon to all the sickly babies.

I think the Mayan's were right about the world coming to an end this month. Have woken up to poo-maggedon and spew-ocalypse. M lying with his head in a pool of chicken and carrot strewn vomit and a lovely exploded nappy inside his sleeping bag. Straight under the shower but upstairs reeks of skanky baby poo/vomit. Not a great start to the day (though he seems very happy!).

Washing is on, brekkie is done - now just need to finish the clean up!

Have a good day everyone!

Engelsemama · 14/12/2012 08:44

And another exploding poo (and another change of clothes). poor thing - his bum is really red. Evil teething poos.

Engelsemama · 14/12/2012 17:38

Okay, vomit session number 2 today (on the kitchen floor after dinner) just cleaned up. I hope we're not in for a long night of it...

MummyDuckAndDuckling · 14/12/2012 17:45

One word.. norovirus....
