Hi everyone. Fell off thread and just catching up now. Congrats mrs lp, I hope you enjoyed Italy, sounds lovely. So very :( for cup and little Bea. I can't quite bring myself to read the thread yet but they are in my thoughts. And that's a lovely idea duck, I'm sure you'll do a lovely job.

N is doing great. He's walking now but only while we hold his hands. He can cross the room like that and he looks like he's goose stepping which is pretty funny. I'm not so well. Started bleeding this morning so went to ambulatory care (at work) and they booked me for a scan on tues. they did say since I'm not passing clots or having pain/cramps it may not be the worst but given what we've been through I keep expecting it. They sent me home to rest and not come back to work til after my scan. I'm only about 7 weeks (by my calculations), and I guess we'll have to wait and see. Hope you are all doing ok, I'll try to be a better MN'er and keep up!

Climbingpenguin · 26/10/2012 18:53

ips how terrible for you over the next week for you.

I had bleeding and cramps enough to make me stop walking with DS but he arrived realises that probably isn't what you want to hear

strawberrypenguin · 27/10/2012 07:30

((Hug)) for you ips fx for you, hope everything is ok.

Happy Birthday to S Tally Smile (and those I've missed!) can't quite believe my little boy is a year old today!

Climbingpenguin · 27/10/2012 09:36

anyone else got a badly sleeping baby again?

CheshireDing · 27/10/2012 10:42

again Climbing not sure it was ever good ;) Not sure P will recognise the extra hours sleep tonight either!!

Hope everything is okay Ips, fx x

Climbingpenguin · 27/10/2012 10:47

we had one or two weeks of every 3-4 and two nights of longer (maybe my lurgy made knock baby out hormones in the milk) now back to 2 hourly feeds and poor sleep in between, plus shit naps.

MummyDuckAndDuckling · 27/10/2012 12:11

Happy birthday baby tally and baby strawberry!!! Grin

Rubbish sleep here, and my 'eat anything that stays still long enough' baby has become Miss Fusspot! Argh! I did however get a pampers email saying 'Your nearly one year old may have a disturbed sleep pattern after weeks of sleeping through and might also become fussy about her food.'!! So, she's bang on target then!

Fingers crossed for you ips, rest up xx

MummyDuckAndDuckling · 27/10/2012 17:56

Yeah S was having a period about 3/4 weeks ago of waking through night and being fussy with her food. Seems to be back to normal now but she is very irritable... Hope nothing is brewing!!

Penelope1980 · 27/10/2012 20:23

I was told by an expert that babies become fussy at about the 1 mark as well and am starting to see it as well. A used to try anythng, now new foods take a bit more work

MummyDuckAndDuckling · 28/10/2012 07:11

Right, who's up and has been for hours now..?! S decided that 6am (really 5am) was about right. Managed to leave her for half hour just chatting in her cot but she's up and full of beans now, sigh

Hi all, back from our weekend in the UK. Wedding itself was lovely but first time we?ve been to anything like this with a toddler (and a sick one at that) and really didn?t feel like I enjoyed the weekend as much as I?d expected. I was off work ill the day we left and DH was getting ill as well so we left home early to get an earlier ferry (and paid for the privilege) so we?d be settled in the hotel at a decent hour. M was really strange on Friday; out of his routine, time difference (only an hour, but to him it mattered!) full of cold and teething ? one of his molars has come through now ? and very overwhelmed by all of the people around him.

On Friday night he woke up at 11 and screamed for an hour, I managed to get him back to sleep, but he was up again at 4 screaming. I think it was his teeth (left cheek was really red and he was streaming dribble). So as a consequence I got 4 hours sleep the night before the wedding and DH didn?t get much more since we were in a hotel room I couldn?t head to the spare room.

Wedding day itself was great (apart from DH not taking care of M when he woke up from his nap as he was putting his suit on and taking an age to do his tie ? so I was running round in my bridesmaid dress trying not to let M get cheese spread on me!). M was really good in church and at the reception but we ended up leaving at 8 after dinner and speeches as he was so tired and DH was also ill. I?d entertained all these fantasies about M sleeping in the corner and us dancing away, normally M is such an easy baby, but being ill and outside his comfort zone didn?t really work.

Still was lovely to see My Dsis get married ? they are so happy together, brought a tear to my eye. And my other Dsis made it back from Oz in time for the wedding so was also great to see her and catch up.

Has really prepared me for the next wedding were going to in a few weeks though. I will be wearing something COMFORTABLE that FITS properly (I very optimistically wore a size 12 BM dress as the size 14 was mahoosive on my tiny, bf shrunken, deflated boobs ? was then very tight around my pregnancy expanded ribs when sitting down), that is not low cut (flashed my bra every time I picked up M), with sensible shoes (am really not used to stiletto heels, especially ivory ones that I have to keep worrying about getting dirty), that is not floaty and chiffony (since when M was on my lap he started wriggling and exposed my not very slim legs and the scary, granny control pants I was wearing to keep my post baby belly in). Hoping the next wedding won?t feel so pressured though since I?m ?only? a guest and not in the wedding party.

I am turning into a proper old lady. I was very pleased to be back in my own bed last night (with my own pillow). To think that DH and I met backpacking round Peru!

DH had the day off today as well, so between the two of us we managed to get the washing under control, everything unpacked and the food shopping done. Not looking forward to heading back to work tomorrow though Sad Feeling physically better but out of the loop after the last week.

tally M doesn?t have any milk now except in his porridge in the morning. He won?t even drink it before bed (lord knows I?ve tried). I think if S?s drinking milk then there?s no problem with that. M drinks other stuff like water and juice, but milk is good for him too --if only the little blighter would drink it?

Keeping my fx for you ips

Good to hear you have a date strawb

CheshireDing · 29/10/2012 21:49

Can we join in with the screamfest [hsad] P is 55 weeks and either her 1/4 of a tooth is agony or she is ill. Either way the outcome is the same - I look like a bag of spanners.

Apparently a few babies have been off nursery with high temps and snot etc and P had a temp of 38.7 this weekend so wasn't really in the Halloween party mood we had to go to. She went to her first Birthday party for a little friend too on Saturday (was quite perky at that point). Last night she was waking all the time and I ended up cuddled up on the nursery floor with her and tonight she has been full on screaming and arching her back. She is asleep FOR NOW.

I don't like it :( :( poor thing. On a good note she has "made" a Christmas card and because we are baby tat consumers I have ordered 1 pack (12 cards £9.99) so not too bad. I suspect she just lashed the paint brush over the card personally.

You post made me laugh Engels. I still find it really hard to be organised at anything slightly different event with P, I wouldn't fancy having to be in fancy clothes and in charge of a baby either [hgrin]. I would go for trousers for the next wedding but I would still have to do the heels ! Hope work is not too bad tomorrow and you get your cocoa before bed :)

Penelope1980 · 30/10/2012 08:30

Poor P!

I am wondering about what to wear to some weddings we've been invited to over the next few months - it's all a bit hard, we've been invited to 5 (!), none of which are where we live, so have had to make some hard decisions about which to attend and which not to go to and which DH and I may go to by ourselves rather than as a family. It's all a bit bizzare. Never ever in my life have I been invited to so many weddings in such a short space of time.

DH and I had a lovely date night tonight, thanks to my sis for sitting Grin It was lovely.

MummyDuckAndDuckling · 30/10/2012 10:01

cheshire it must be a 55 week thing. S is past it now, so fingers crossed P will be to soon.
engels your post made me laugh too Grin. I love nothing more than getting home to my own house and bed!
pen Smile for date night

W is really fussy with his food at the moment too, must be an age thing.

Hope all the poorly parents and babies are feeling better, DH is sick too and I've got it in a much milder form (W is generous at sharing his germs!) he's fine now though although he fell off his chair at nursery yesterday and caught his cheekbone on the way down so he has a lovely large bruise on his cheek - he looks like someone's punched him!

In non baby related things I just passed my driving test!!! First time too can't quite believe it!

sassy don't forget E's jabs tomorrow Grin I've got to take in for his swabs to check him for germs for his op - I pitty the poor nurse who's going to have to try and get those!

ipswichwitch · 30/10/2012 14:15

Congrats sp!!! First time eh, get you!!
Your post made me laugh too engels. Much as I loved my wedding dress it was a damn sight easier dealing with N once I got changed. He was poorly on the day and kept screaming at me- prob cos he didn't recognise me looking all made up with a nice hairdo and lovely dress. I normally look like I've been through a hurricane backwards :)

Had the scan today and all is well. I'm only 6 weeks though, I thought I was further along and midwife had me at 9 weeks. Was a bit worrying when they couldn't find anything at first, then I needed a vaginal ultrasound which showed our little bean. They couldn't see any s

Was a bit worrying when they couldn't find anything at first, then I needed a vaginal ultrasound which showed our little bean. They couldn't see any source of the bleeding but the baby and everything around it is as should be. We even got a pic (fuzzy blob is the baby so they tell me!) it's such a relief. The bleeding had stopped this morning but the vag ultrasound will provoke a bit more and they said stop off work till I've been 48hr without a bleed. An very Grin now!

ipswichwitch · 30/10/2012 14:19

Apologies for stupid iPhone- fancy posting before I'm done!

strawberrypenguin · 30/10/2012 15:16

Yay ips so pleased for you Grin good little bean x

MummyDuckAndDuckling · 30/10/2012 15:41

ips that's great news!!!! Hang in there little bean Smile

Well done sp Thanks. I passed on my 5th Blush

Engelsemama · 30/10/2012 17:49

Great news ips

Well done strawb ! I passed 3rd time (had the same evil examiner the first 2 times)

M finally seems to be on the mend - he had a temp last night so was dreading having to call in off work again after 2 days off sick last week, but he was fine today. Though became really clingy this morning when I dropped him off - fell to his knees and then his head on the floor and howling. I just ignored him and carried on restocking his tray

Only prob with finding wedding clothes is that I wear really casual stuff to work. Have some nice boots though with not too scary heel, but I don't think I can get away with wearing jeans or a denim skirt to a wedding so I'll have to go shopping on Friday. [hgrin]

Penelope1980 · 30/10/2012 19:00

When are you due ips?

Wasn't there someone else pregnant on the thread - am ashamed I can't remember who

DH and I keep having the "what age gap should we try for" talks, but have yet to decide

sassy34264 · 30/10/2012 19:09

Oh so pleased for you ip Brilliant news.

strawberry yeah for the driving test. I passed mine first time but it was a 50/50 situation. 2 instructors came out, one really camp chatty one and a really mean, don't talk to me one. If i'd have got the camp chatty one, i would have yabbied away and prob crashed failed for definate. Grin

Eva is still sleeping through but ive had to cut her down to 1 nap. The twins would be fast asleep at 7.30 and she'd still be talking to herself, one time at 9.30. I felt bad for her that time and even brought her downstairs for a bit. Hmm
That doesnt quite fit with my tough love for god sake go to sleep now before i completely loose what's left of my sanity approach! Wink

sassy34264 · 30/10/2012 19:19

Thanks pen I have remembered, but i did last time up until about 1/2 hours away and then forgot and only remembered again about 30 mins after the appointment had gone. Hmm Shock Blush

I am officially abit hopeless!
