ym - I am soooo jealous ! A whole w/e away without lo! Something I can only dream of. Hope you have a fab time.

We have a toddler!! dd decided today that walking was much better than crawling and just got up onto her feet and walked across the garden! She did stumble a bit and fell twice but it was just fantastic to see! I am sooo proud of her! She did it lots more after that and then again in the kitchen. She had a huge grin on her face too - really chuffed with herself.

Maddison · 11/07/2006 22:45

Weel done your dd Tiggerish I love to see them walking around with their arms waving about - makes my heart melt

YM - I'm very of you too, the most I have ever had away from DS2 is a night out a few weeks ago for, oooh, all of 3 hours!!! Both you and dd will be fine, just relax and enjoy Good luck with Number 2 too, will keep my fingers crossed for you xx

yummimummy · 13/07/2006 05:34

Fab news Tiggerish - how sweet your LO looking so chuffed!
I know, I know we're lucky to be able to get away and have someone close to take care of DD.
We'll see how it goes. I suspect MIL will need a rather long time to recuperate.
We had a plumber visit yesterday for a blocked drain and when he'd finished, DD toddled over to him and handed him a string of CONDOMS fron DH's bedside drawer. The plumber cooly accepted the gift and handed them to me without a word
Aren't they just hilarious?

LittleB · 13/07/2006 11:13

thats so funny ym, how embarressing though! perhaps she knows you're TTC! Good luck.
Congrats on dd walking tiggerish, its so sweet to see isn't it!
We've had one night away from dd, she was fine woke up once but settled quickly, luckily she's used to MIL as she has her two days a week. She's going to spend a night at my mums in August too. It is great to have time just me and dh, especially as we haven't had a proper honeymoon yet as dd spent half our honeymoon in bed with us as she was ill! I think we'll have a proper one when she's older, our fault really should've got married before she was born, no excuse as been together 9yrs, just didn't get around to it.

shhhh · 13/07/2006 14:45

ym at dd handing him some condoms..!! omg I have no idea what I would have done if I was you OR the plumber..!!! Thats something he's sure to share down the pub this friday!!!!

Welldone tiggerish at dd walking...dd is now walking around with us holding either both or one hand and it looks so cute..!! I never thought I could get over the cuteness stage as babies but they are all now little people and are so so so cute in how they walk and sit etc.
I keep saying to dh, it's like having a "mini me" .

Well still now walking in the shhh household yet BUT the last few days has seen dd actually stand alone without using something to help her into that position iykwi. She stands in the middle of the lounge and is there for 20 sec although to watch it feels like hours.!!! We try not to "make it obvious" what she is doing until she has done it as she gets so giddy and tries to dance and falls over !! LOL..!!! We now just praise her once she has sat down or gone back to crawling..she usually then gets excited by screaming..!!! It's been nice that agin she has done all this with dh around.

Well it looks like it could be doing what July should do..sunshine. Its lovely here today...It's our wedding anniversary on Monday (2 years) and I keep thinking back to this time 2 years ago. I still want to do it all again ..!!!

OP posts:
Maddison · 14/07/2006 12:12

Yummimummy, that made me laugh!! I agree with LittleB - she knows you are ttc and is therefor getting rid of your condoms What a good girl, helping mummy already!!!

Shhhh, I know what you mean about them standing up alone, and the giddiness aswell! DS1, DS2 and I play tag and DS2 tries to run but gets so excited he trips over his feet! Cue mammy picking DS2 up from under the arms and running round the lounge and dining room like a loon!! We love it though, I love to hear the DS's giggling away!!

PS. Happy anniversary for Monday

yummimummy · 15/07/2006 03:18

That sounds reallt sweet Maddison - I bet it's pretty exhausting for you doing all that running around. DD loves it if I pick her up and run too especially if we kick a ball too.
Yes I guess she must be ready for a brother or sister. I'll see if we can oblige!
Happy Anniversary Shhhh - I hope you get to do something nice
Little B - your honeymoon sounds really nice and cosy, the 3 of you - not the traditional type - but as you said I guess you'd had 9 years to do all that soppy stuff before your LO came along.
But I do like your idea of having another honeymoon sometime.
I'm winding down the BF now - only 1 morning feed. I was due to stop that this am but DD woke at five so I couldn't bring myself to go downstairs and play at that time (it's still dark here in Oz at that time). We went and had a cuddle in bed instead. Funnily DH is quite excited about me stopping the BFing as he feels that he can potentially have more freedom to spend time with her rather than her being so dependant on me. He thinks he might take her away for the weekend just the two of them (ha, as if)

Maddison · 24/07/2006 21:21

Wow, alls gone quiet on here, I guess we must all be enjoying the sunshine while it lasts!!

We have just come back from a weekend in South Wales, we have some friends down there and we stayed with them for a couple of days. Although it was v v hot and sticky, DS2 was an absolute gem (DS1 went to the seaside for the weekend with his nan and grandad) he took a real shine to one of our friends too and they stuck together like glue!!

Apart from that there's nothing else to report, DS2 is just up to his usual tricks - climbing, climbing and more climbing!!

Hope everyone and their babes (and bumps!) are fit and well

yummimummy · 25/07/2006 10:18

Yes, I thought I'd killed the thread there for a while
Well, our weekend away went really well and we're hoping to do it again at least annually.
I didn't pine for DD as I thought I would but was very pleased to see her again on Sunday.
She coped beautifully and didn't seem to have batted an eyelid. She has been a bit clingy today which is understandable but that's getting better.
We went wine tasting which was great but on the morning I left thought I'd better check a PT and got a BFP!!!!!!
Still a bit shocked as it was so quick.
But very happy
Very early days though so I'm cautiously excited.

Maddison · 25/07/2006 14:35

Huge congratulations YM Very happy for you, now you have the perfect excuse to put your feet up a bit You'll be able to join one of the antenatal boards on here too when you work out your dates (if you haven't already - it was one of the first things i did!) I found it helped a bit to be able to share the excitement and worry and have a moan with women who were going through exactly the same thing at the same time

Good to hear your weekend away went well, how did your MIL manage? OK obviously as you are wanting to go away again!! I also think the first time is the hardest, so it will be much easier next time around.

flannelettepyjamas · 25/07/2006 23:55

It's me Yummimummy - I've changed my name as there is at least 1 other yummi on MN (spelt differently) and I'm not sure the name really suits me - this one feels more like me just now! ( and DH thinks yummimummy sounds shallow!)
Anyway, yes I think MIL would do it again - she was tired but loved it and phoned on Tuesday to offer more babysitting that day!!!
DD is still a bit clingy but I'm going to just give her lots of cuddles and let her stick with me as much as she wants til she gets over it.

LittleB · 26/07/2006 12:07

Congratulations yummimummy!
dd had a reaction to her MMR, came out with the measles side of it, slight fever and spots all over her, she's fine again now though, although she's a little bit whingey as she's got 4 molars all part way through which are giving the poor poppet a bit of toothache. we're off on holiday on Friday, having a big family get together in Dordogne, we're really looking forward to it, although I'm worried about keeping dd cool enough. I think we'll manage though. There's a pool there which she'll love and she's petty good at having a siesta - she's sleeping now.
Hope everyone else is well.

shhhh · 26/07/2006 16:07

PJ'S..!!! Congratulations..!! Another one of us pregnant..that makes 3..any others..?? .

So how far as you..? Due date yet..? Well we had a 2nd scan on Monday. Baby2 is doing well and dh & I were amazed that baby was hiccuping..!!! Scan seemed so much clearer than when we had dd..! Could see arms and legs..!

I'm doing well although still feeling sick, saw the mw at the appointment on Monday and she went through my notes from dd's birth..at which point I got flash backs and thought "what am I doing"...!!! Those of you with more than 1 help me..!!! How did you cope knowing what happened 1st time around..??

Well dd is now walking..!!! She took her 1st steps last Thursday and although isn't fully mobile yet she is enjoying the odd walk alone and gets so giddy she falls over.! Very cute to watch..!! Think we may have been the last on the due in may thread..??

DD also had the single jab for rubella on saturday. She was so good and didn't bother at all. DH was sure it was because she had her daddy ..! Men huh..! Just another 2 to go..

flannelettepyjamas · 26/07/2006 23:59

Thanks Shhhh and Little B.
I'm very jealous of your trip to the Dordogne Little B, one of my favourite places - I hope you get good weather.
I'm due 30th March so I'm only 5 weeks tomorrow - very early days so I'm not counting any chickens IYKWIM.
I see the Obstetrician when I'm 9 weeks and will have a scan then so we won't tell anyone til then.
I've got a few nights out planned this week though and as I'm usually into my wine in a big way it may not go un-noticed.
I am feeling a bit sick, which I guess is a good sign. (?)
We were really lucky falling so quickly - the first month we tried ( who says old knackered women can't get pregnant?).
I won't get too excited yet, just about everyone I know has had a MC
Congrats Shhhh on DD walking

shhhh · 27/07/2006 12:07

pj's fingers crossed that all goes well. I know how you feel though. Before we had dd we sadly had x2 mc's so we were so worried until dd's birth and we are exactly the same now. Even though we are 13 weeks the thought still worries the hell out of me..

Think positive.

We got caught 1st time as well (well in fact..sorry if tmi.....it was only the 1st time we did it unprotected iykwim..!!) We were also amazed at how quickly it happened. With dd and previous pregnancies it took us 6-9 months to even get pregnant.

LOL at dh, at our antenatal appointment on Mon the mw asked how long it took us to fall pregnant (meaning...how long had we been tring.. 1year etc)
DH blurted out " 1st shot" . I don't know who's face was more of a picture..mine, the mw or dh's..!!! .

He was so embarassed when he realised that it came out wrong..! He meant as soon as we started trying BUT I can't help but think the mw was sat there thinking "cocky git...think's his is magical stuff"...!!!! LOL..!! .

littleb have a lovely hol on fri..envious or what..!!

Maddison · 27/07/2006 22:36

LOL at your dh shhh, my dh thinks his is a 'cure all' potion

FPJ's (love your new name) am keeping my fingers crossed for you, I'm sure you and baby will be fine xx

LittleB

Maddison · 27/07/2006 22:38

Sorry LittleB, meant to say I'm envious of where you're going but somehow I posted half a message to you!!

Well, it is getting late....

flannelettepyjamas · 28/07/2006 00:21

Shhh LOL at your DH
Men are so funny about their virility aren't they?
I can almost see DH's swagger at his most recent success!
I'm glad you like the new name Maddison - it's definitely more me

LittleB · 28/07/2006 11:59

Thank you. I know we're really lucky. We wouldn't be able to afford it but my Dad is paying. My grandmother died last year (When dd was 3 days old, very traumatic at the time) and my Dad and his sister wanted to organise a family get together with some of their inheritance, as they knew she'd have liked that. Last time I went to the dordogne was with my granmother and my parents when I was 10. I think it will bring back happy memories and I'll get a bit emotional, but it will be lovely. I've just looked at the weather forecast and its high 20's so a bit cooler than it has been, and should be ok for dd.
I'm really excited! I have to go and finish packing now though while dd is sleeping, she's better at unpacking .

flannelettepyjamas · 28/07/2006 23:16

Have a fabby holiday Little B.
I hope you find some lovely memories there of your family times and you're not too sad.
I'm sure your Gran will be watching you all with a smile on her face

logic · 29/07/2006 21:20

Congratulations fp! So pleased for you. Meant to tell you that we have the Wiggles here too. Ds can't stand them

Glad your scan went well, shhh! Spill the beans, then: boy or girl? I will send you an e-mail soon I promise.

Well, I start my new job on Monday after 4 years of being at home! I'm nervous but really looking forward to it. The only cloud is the baby going to nursery. We've been on three visits now. Ds has been fine, loves it but the baby has cried each time. She's so clingy. I feel so guilty. I feel that I must take this fab opportunity but it's at her expense Any working mums (uwila?) got any advice please??

flannelettepyjamas · 30/07/2006 07:39

Thanks Logic,
The Wiggles.....Mmmmm, we have a bit of an obsession thing going on here!
At least it allows me to go and have lovely long a shower in peace!
Best of luck with your job Logic, it must be quite nerve-wracking after 4 years, but I'm sure you'll be into the swing of it soon.

fisil · 30/07/2006 07:41

Hi! I don't see this thread very often. Thought I'd just say hello!

shhhh · 30/07/2006 09:30

Hi fisil..nice to hear from you!!

Logic, hope all goes well on Monday. Sorry but being a sahm I can't offer advice but hopefully uwila or someone will be around soon.

TBH I think from waht friends have said, it's the before bits that are the hardest..waiting for the day to arrive etc BUTonce they are there and they have got into a routine it should be ok. Just think of the lovely smile and screams you will get when you go to pick them up .

Good luck. xx

Hello everyone, wow - loads of news, congratulations on the pregnancies girls well done!!! And big kisses to all the May 2005 toddlers (I think they're all on their feet now). From the sounds of it we have produced a great bunch of happy screaming climbing clinging teething hair-pulling gorgeous little monsters
Dd got her first bike today.
