...I can't believe it was nov when I last posted.....
I have been around on mn although not as much as I would like to be. The computer is on the 3rd floor and im out of puff by the time I get to the 1st floor let alone the 3rd lol..!!! But tonight dh has set up the laptop so I am now in the dining room..!!

Its lovely thought to catch up with everyone. How are the other 2 oregnancies going..? Is it booge..??? She should have had baby by now and fpj's, how are you doing.?

Well I am now 35 weeks and even bigger than when I last posted. MW appointment before last had me measuring 2/3 weeks ahead but the last one 2 weeks ago saw me bang on although the mw thinks ds2b will be big . Also ds2b is lying back 2 back which terrifies me although the mw is not so concerned atm. I on the other hand am now a regular on my birth ball in a vain attempt. Must admit as well...I am now petrified. . Seemed such a good idea 8 months ago but now the birth is looming I don't think I can do it.

DD is coming along realy well and is now talking much more. Words she can says confidently include: Dadda, Mamma, Cat,Peepee (paper!!), pooossstt (Post!!) oh and the cutest is ssseeennttaa (Santa but sounds aussie like iykwim..!) She hasn't had her 18 month check yet but the hv is willing to do it when she come to visit the new baby at around a week old..so in about 6 weeks. I just hope dd does all she should be ding. LOL I said to dh last week : well mrs hv, DD can't eat independantly yet or this or that BUT she can brush her hair, use my hair tongs, apply eye shadow, apply lipgloss oh and wipe my floors with baby wipes very well..!!! . Its amazing how much she watches and learns from dh & i..!!

Christmas day was brill. We had gp's around for a few hours to see dd BUT then it was just us 3. Maybe offened my mum BUT I so wanted a peaceful time and with gp's around it would have been a day of brew making, tidying up and generally non relaxing.
DD loved the rocking fisher price zebra we got her and we also got her the m&p's thomas the tank ride on train. Takes up the lounge btw and is an accident waiting to happen but she loves it..!! I find it hard to lift her on and to depress the button while she rides it as she hasn't grasped the concept of holding the button down herslef yet so dh has to do it. A few curcits and he's knackered as well BUT she chants Choo choo..!!! So very cute.!
She also got 2 diff types of play homes..A little people one and one from elc (a boot) and I didn't think she would take to them but you know what, she loves them and sits and puts the dolls into one home and then into another. Shes a little girl now... I even depressed myself further on christmas eve while charging the video camera..on it was footage from last christmas when dd was around 7 months... She was still a baby..Just hope we are doing the right thing by having another as I don't want dd to feel pushed out or 2nd best iykwim..

How is everyone else.? How was your christmas.New year plans anyone.? Ours..........to sit on the couch and do nowt . xx

Congratulations on giving up breastfeeding Maddison, glad it went so smoothly for you, but sorry to hear about your dog, our dog is almost 15 too and is showing her age this winter so I don't think she's got long, I worry about how dd will cope so its good to hear that your ds is ok with it.
DD is already loving christmas, she loves the 'lights' and 'pretties' everywhere and gets very excited has added 'nowman' and 'christmas' to her words! I think she'll explode with excitement when she gets presents too!

Wow, haven't we gone quiet!!

Well, if anyone still reads this thread, I've finally given up breastfeeding 2 weeks ago DS2 went to bed without a feed, so I thought I'd try him again the next night, and the next and hey presto! we've given up!! Needless to say I'm pleased I was expecting tender fullish boobs, but haven't suffered in the slightes so I don't think he's been feeding properly for a while.

On a sadder note, we lost one of our dogs on Friday DH is in tatters, he found her when she was 3-4 months old and has had her since for the last 15 years. DS1 has taken it better than we thought, he has come to the conclusion that she has gone to be a guard dog for Jesus!! He asked Jesus to take care of her, and to feed her then added on the end 'but don't forget Jesus, she's MY dog, not yours'! Had to stifle a grin at that one!

Hope all mums and babies are well, and are all looking forward to Christmas xx

Gald everyone seems to be doing so well. I'm really looking forward to Christmas, I think dd is going to understand it better this year and get very excited, it'll be great fun! Especially as I'm not cooking, we're going to SIL, and no washing up as she has a dishwasher.

Well done Maddison on you night out. I know it can be a pain with all the practicalities but I'm sure it's worth it now and again.

DD is nowhere near to doing that yet.
But teh cot they gave us on our stopover in Singapore had a horizontal bar halfway up one side . Talk about a design flaw - obviously I couldn't leave the room at all ( even if I had been so inclined).

Well done maddison, it's great to get out and feel young-ish and not immediately responsible for anyone around you isn't it.
But obviously the downside is that you have to be bright and cheerful at an unnatural hour the next morning.

DH & I had our first childless night out last night!! My PIL's had both DS's so we could go to see Muse at Newcastle Arena (which was ABSOLUTELY FAB!!), they said they struggled to get both of them to sleep but managed in the end, it has sort of put me off leaving them again but i know i'll have to do it again sometime. The worst part was picking them up at midnight, bundling them into the car and hoping they would go back to sleep once in their own beds, which they did, so it wasn't all bad

I'm amazed at some of your little ones - DS2 still does not 'speak', he babbles all the time and i just talk back to him, but we have no animal noises or anything!! He understands exactly what we are saying though, so I'm hoping it's all just sinking in and that one day he'll start talking [hopeful emoticon]

DS2 climbed out of his cot on Sunday!! So we decided it was best to move him into DS1's bottom bunk bed, we thought it would be safer, so I've dismantelled the cot today. Actually felt quite sad doing it!!

dd has no colours yet but knows all her animal noises (ok she speculates sometimes when it's giraffe or koala but don't we all)
She can wrinkle up her nose when you ask her what does the bunny rabbit say.

WE are back in the UK for a month.
The flight - a Living Hell!
I even started to wonder if DD has ADHD as she was totally hyperactive while every other kid on the plane slept most of the way. Why were we the only ones walking the aisles hour by hour??
Anyway, we had a stopover in Singapore - no shopping or restaurants for me - it all revolved completely around DD and her sleep ( which was fine of course, but a different sort of Singapore experience).
The airline was not especially helpful and stewardesses would watch me struggle to carry DD asleep ( when she eventually went off) and try to move items out of the bassinet to place her into it or put up the stroller with her draped over me. DD was even served her meal piping hot. Anyway, we're here now. I've found a local playgroup and a play centre with all those climbing things to let off some steam ( for me too).
DD has also had Roseola this week which rendered her unspeakably irritable for 3 days before the fever broke and the spots emerged.
Sorry to be such a Moaning Minnie.
On the plus side, we're spending lots of quality time with family amd my Dad gets to babysit tomorrow while I go off shopping in all those lovely UK shops I miss so much.
DD is learning her colours and occasionally gets them right!

Hi maddison - no parents evening yet, but ds brought home his school journal friday of half term with nothing but ds is a shining star and it made me so proud.
I can more or less tell you all now that my May 05 dd will NOT be receiving such good reports she is a wild little thing already.

Hi Northstar How long is DD at playschool for?? Try not to feel guilty, you'll both probably benefit from a break from each other! It's amazing how much you can get done when you're child free isn't it (Not that i get much free time but hey ho) My mam had both DS's for half an hour at her house last night while i sorted dinner and it was prepared in a crack!!

Have you had parents evening for your DS yet? If so how did it go??

OMG Shhhh, you really sound like you have a hectic life - you must have lots of energy. Well I'm back from a week in mums, it was wierd when I was in England becuase I kept wondering if I was around any mnetters - I know I'm not where I live.
Anyway dd is at PLAYSCHOOL
Can't really believe it myself. She started this morning. It has taken me 2 hours to unpack the bags and has been so much easier without the little darling. I do feel guilty though, but that's par for the course I think.
They take them at 18 mths and she was 18mths on saturday. I'll let you know how she gets on.

Hi everyone. Been a while since I have posted too - half term so a bit more time now.

Shhh - I was huge with ds and much smaller with dd. I did expand more quickly in the early weeks with dd though. (They were the same weight at birth btw)

dd is climbing up onto everything now and is totally fearless. Quite worrying sometimes. Have just bought her a Tripp Trapp chair without baby bar which she loves and spends all day climbing up and down. She really likes eating with us at the table now and completely shuns any offers of help. A bit messy but she's getting there!

dh and I have just had 2 nights away without the dcs The first time since dd arrived - totally fab!! dd did give the pil rather a hard time unfortunately, waking once on the first night and twice last night. We think she might be having night terrors. Anyone else have this?

Apart from that everyone seemed to get on fine without us Anyway the pil fly back to NZ tomorrow (have been here on and off for nearly 3 months) so we get the house back - hooray! It has been mostly great to have them here and they have done loads with the kids (and fil has spruced the house up no end) but it is time they went home iykwim.

Great to hear everyone else's lo's are doing so well. They are all growing so fast

Hi everyone//God time is flying thats for sure...It seems ages since I posted and have just managed to catch up on everyone.

Well dd is growing so much each day its scary. No words as of yet, well none we can understand anyway but neither of us are stressing atm.

No major bumps either at this end and luckily not lost her while out, tbh given the size I am (25 weeks) I hardly let go as its takes me ages to catch her and thats just in the house..!!
BTW those of you who are 2nd/3rd/4th etc time mums..did you get huge with each pregnancy..? I know your muscles etc are more lax BUT I am honestly huge..! The mw even commented last week which really cheered me up . BUT I am measuring right which is a relief. DD was 9lb 4oz so I guess ds2b will be heavier BUT I can't believe how big I am..I have already gone up 1-2 sizes in maternity wear... Does depress me slightly.

LOL northstar and your dd doing "rodeo"..! I was pmsl while reading your post.! DD is also mastering the art of climbing and now and then manages to hoist herself onto the couch, usually while pulling on my leg.! She has also started to climb on her activity table . Now that bit does scare me..!!! Little rascal just laughs.!

Maddison congrats on your ds doing so well at school..see it's all worth while..! BTW about the zebra, its wrapped ready for santa and dd hasn't tried it yet so christmas morning will be the testing senario.!! Given the fact she is a nutter with everything else no doubt she will love it.

Well dd was due to have the meningitus jab about 3 weeks ago BUT as she was part way through the single mmr our private clinic advised against until 6 weeks aftre the last of the mmr..then she was ill so both have been put back..Mumps is on the 4th (along with out 3d scan ) so meninigitus will be around 19th dec onwards...Hopefully she will be fine.

Wow Northstar, thats young, our local playschools won't take them until they're 2, although I'm sure my dd would love it now, she enjoys toddler group alot. She was a bit manic Sunday because it was too wet to go out and play and there weren't any groups to go to! Otherwise she's fine, I'm trying to adjust her sleep pattern for when the clocks go back, she seems fine going to bed later but doesn't want to sleep any later!

fpj, your dd does sound cute in the life jacket and snow suit! ds is like that with sand at the moment, hates it on his feet and hands. so when mil and were having a picnic lunch on the beach the other day he just sat there still the whole time which was such a lovely period of peace for once!
yes i wasn't sure about having a live-in helper, especially in these tiny hong kong apartments. but it's not that bad really, the apartments are designed well and her room is off the kitchen in the front of the apartment. she doesn't eat with us, and seems invisible most of the time. hope you will cope with ur sil - well definitely your dd is going to love the extra playmate

Oh those pre-baby days of 8hrs + sleep. Dd was sleeping until around 7, even during those light summer mornings, but for the last months generally wakes between 6-6.30, don't know why. She doesn't cry, just shouts and chatters and is wide awake, can leave her for up to 10mins, but the she'll start whining for attention, but definitely won't go back to sleep. She's going to bed a bit later too, but seems to be having a longer daytime nap to catch up on the shorter nights, hope we sort something out before the clocks change, can't have her waking up at 5am!
Your little one sounds so sweet in her lifejacket fpj. the nearest dd has got to a boat is a blow up one in the swimming pool, she loves that though!
She didn't get any worse after her jab, just a little clingy and a little sleepier than usual for a few days, she's fine again now.

Sleep? Ha!
I was a 9-hour-a-night-girl pre baby!
Now I manage about 6-7 hours.
(Last night about 1 1/2 on account of croup!)
DD wakes at 6.30-7am most mornings which, after a phase of waking at 5.30, actually feels really good. I guess it's all relative. I try to go to bed earlier but can't really sleep til quite late and wake early ( even before DD) on account of pregnancy ( and lack of alcohol!).
I'm very envious of your live-in helper Aqua. Though I think I'd prefer someone turning up at 6am instead of living with me but I guess that's normal in HK.
My SIL might be moving in for a while while she tries to sort out things with her DH. I'm a bit worried about it in terms of a lack of privacy, but we have to help her ( and want to).
DD has learnt how to blow bubbles with a bubble wand thingy (sort of) and went on her first ever boat trip at the weekend. Wearing a life-jacket she became strangely devoid of movement and emotion for a whole 1 1/2 hours. Much like when she wore the snowsuit last year. I think I might have to borrow one for my flight back to the UK in 2 weeks!

oh northstar i feel for you! pre-babies, i just loved my sleep, so feel really sleep deprived now! i hope it's just a phase your dd is going through - maybe you could blame it on teething?! ds doing better, last two days getting up at 6:45am. he was waking up i think because he kept wetting his pants in the morning so i switched from a unisex nappy to a boy nappy and it seems to have worked. also if he has had an extra long sleep during the day (like 2+ hours) i put him down about half an hour later at bedtime. i also did control crying in the beginning of the week. so don't know which method is working, but i'm happy anyway!!

DD is also tormenting the whole family with her early waking which I thought would stop as the mornings got darker. I went out on friday night and got into bed at 3.18am - dd was awake at 6.18am. I am sooooo tired still. I cant keep her up any later than 7.30-8pm as she is exhausted, and I am already restricting her nap to one hour during the day. I have to get up with her eventually as she will not settle and I am so conscious that ds needs as much sleep as possible especially as he is in school.If I leave her to cry she gets worse and worse and louder and louder..
