bleurgh. Horrible night. BOi wentdown v early, but then woke up in time for the men's 100m final. He went manic for about an hour, and then went to sleep again, but he was restless all night.
He's in our bed, as we've not moved his cot back in after our guests left (my cousins little girl slept in the Stokke Sleepi that the house sellers left us). And as I am now the only worker, DH is in charge of nighttime shushage. He failed yesterday and got very frustrated with BOi and me. So i took over.
He apologised this morning.
I need more sleep.
I put the kettle on, coffee anyone?

hawthers · 06/08/2012 07:37

Bucket needed over here.

F up three times a night for the last week. It's teething as I've managed to pop some bonjela in and he's gone back to sleep several times but there is nothing I can do to stop him waking un the first place is there?

Totally fed up and I need sleep!

OiMissus · 06/08/2012 08:08

Aethel prescribes nurofen but I haven't tried it yet.
Tis teething here too.
He has two teeth now.
Maybe the nurofen is for me?

LittleMissFlustered · 06/08/2012 08:26

Up every hour. Again. Tired and so very fed up. No chance of sleep, so coffee here too please:(

11 Days Grin

Morning

Good night sleep here. Sky woke at 5:15 had 4oz and is still asleep. Darcie is downstairs watching Disney channel Smile

Cake baking today.

OiMissus · 06/08/2012 09:12

11 days. Grin
I'm orf to Denmark again at the end of the week. Just for one night. I hope I can get some sleep then. This time I have a chance as I won't have painful, engorged boobs.

mopsytop · 06/08/2012 09:30

Sounds like lots of sleepless nights. Minimopsy has slept well the past few nights which was very welcome after weeks of waking up once an hour.

Mum and sister here this weekend which has been lovely. Ugh shrieking baby must dash..,

seven77 · 06/08/2012 10:45

Sorry about all of the non-sleeping and grumpiness. I'm struggling with a miserable DH at the moment. He's having a hard time at work, one of the customers called him a wanker yesterday because he wouldn't serve him 90 minutes before the pub opened Hmm. Half the staff are so up-their-own-arses they won't talk to him, he got called in my his boss yesterday because he isn't happy enough, no wonder really. I'm trying to be supportive but it's not easy when he's so miserable it affects us all.

OiMissus · 06/08/2012 14:33

I think BOi's tooth/night time grumpiness is made a bit worse by DHs work stress. It certainly doesn't help. And it's just more pressure on me to try and keep everything running smoothly... so seven, I understand!
On brighter note, and I'm not sure exactly how I feel about this, but BOi can climb the stairs! I came home from work an hour ago to pass the car to DH, and he demonstrated BOi's new-found stair climbing development. Hmm
The house is split level, so there are only 6 steps per staircase, but he's pretty quick.
We need to show how to go down safely, and we won't need stairgates... Hmm I think this will be slightly more demanding!

AWomanCalledHorse · 06/08/2012 15:07

Hurrah for stairclimbing Oi, hope it doesn't cause many sleepness nights, luckily we live in a flat so our only worries are rabbit & cupboards full of chemicals related.

Another ratty non-sleeping baby here. DS is getting his 7th tooth through, the upside is he should have them all soon at this rate & we'll not have to deal with his grumpiness much longer. seven, you can't get liquid Anbesol anymore!! :(
And he's started waking up for a night feed so I've had to up his food during the day, baby eats almost as much as me!
DH is on mad shifts atm so have no idea what day of the year it is, was about to ask everyone what they're doing for the weekend!

Good luck with all the weight loss everyone!
I'm just under pre-pregnancy weight, but very unfit atm (I miss being able to lift decent weights!) may I join the weightloss thread?

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 06/08/2012 15:14

Oi Wow check BOi out & his stair climbing abilities. Sky's not quite mastered the art of crawling forward so not worried about stairs for now.

Watching Beth Tweddle at the moment.

AF arrived yesterday and I've got sodding cramps and headache - not good when you have a 7yr old to entertain and 7 month old who gets frustrated because she can't crawl forward lol!

Still 11 days to go Grin

hawthers · 06/08/2012 15:38

I've got some anbesol here - has it been outlawed?!

aethelfleda · 06/08/2012 16:47

hawthers, a quick google brings it up as alternately "discontinued" versus "productiOn problems" versus "scary rare health risk from the benzocaine in it"(but that was on an American pro-homeopathy site so I am a bit Hmm about the genuineness of such a claim) . If you want a very similar product try Calgel which has an almost identical local anaesthetic in the gel. personally I found that Ibuprofen given just before the last bottle seems to work for the first 6-8 hours of the night by whivh time they probably would have woken anyway. It's not meant to be given long term but nightly for 3-5 nights should be enough to get them past a teething bout.

Am chuffed today: went back to library with the DDs (trying to walk where possible for the old exercise thing), and found my favourite baby recipe book for 10p in the sale rack! Too tight to buy it specially, but I was happy to see it again and especially recommend it to all you baby led weaning types (honey it's written by a vegetarian so almost all the recipes are meatfree). "Finger Food for Babies and Toddlers" by Jennie maizels. Breadsticks are cooling on the rack as I speak....

link here

aethelfleda · 06/08/2012 16:48

(ahem, I mean too tight to spend £8 on it, but 10p did nicely!!

mopsytop · 06/08/2012 17:05

No AF for the wedding DSM on the plus side!

Lunch out, had salmon and beetroot salad which was yum but literally a few bits of smoked salmon, beetroot slices and foam/purée fancy stuff, shavings of cucumber. But excellent for start of dieting!

Baba crying again. It's like she senses when I'm on munched, more later I hope!

Figgygal · 06/08/2012 18:33

Oh what a mad day informed of flat tyre at work followed by a very precarious drive to nearest garage as like a horrible stereotype I've no idea what to do to change it myself. Find massive piece of metal in said tyre so new one required which would be fine of hadn't just shelled out £170 to go home for weekend in November. Then Danny arrives home with a mortified cm who informs me he decided to pick a fight with her floor......with his face Sad he's got a black eye and we had to fill in an accident form. He's fine waving and shuffling and laughing like a loon wish he had t just thrown up on the bloody sofa though .......it just soaks right in!!

Oi am v impressed with boos stair climbing that's amazing can u attribute anything u doing with him as to why/how he's so mobile?

aethelfleda · 06/08/2012 19:12

:( that your DH is feeling down seven, Hope the work stress improves soon.

That actually sounds rather yummy mopsy!

and sympathies for figgyboy's face. Don'y worry, there will be many mor such incidents. I still cherish an accident report sent home from DD1's reception year entitled "Walked Into A Tree".....

OiMissus · 06/08/2012 19:57

Oh dear! A black eye! Aw! Poor figgyboy. Sad
I'd like to say that BOi's mobility is due to something we've done, but no, I can't think of anything. He just can't stay still.
We didn't buy a jumperoo or anything. And we really didn't do that much tummy time.

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 06/08/2012 20:04

Seven Sorry to see your DH is feeling down. Hopefully he picks up soon.

Mopsy Your right that's def a plus. Brought the guest book today and arranged with my mum, sis, MIL, SIL, BF to have dinner on night before wedding as all the blokes are doing something too! Grin

Figgy hope Figgyboy isn't to traumatised and is okay.

Both girls are in bed. Cakes made & decorated. Now time to chill with a cuppa & Olympics on tv in peace as DP is out.

LittleMissFlustered · 06/08/2012 20:08

My wldesr's finest school injury was 'falling off a soft shape' and necessitated a jaunt to A&E... Got to love the ingenious ways they manage to imperil themselves.

OP posts:
DeterminedandSpecialMum · 06/08/2012 20:23

The best injury I had was breaking my ankle whilst doing judo - wasn't even at grading or competition it was in training - doh! Grin

aethelfleda · 06/08/2012 22:10

. Only just got DS to settle down, have an enormous pile of washing staring at me, another load to put out, bottles to do, haven't done the windowsil/skirting boards (though at least that can wait).
Does anyone have a spare TARDIS?

Figgygal · 07/08/2012 07:04

Gah been up since 5.30 I think my body clock has adjusted to the last week of 5.30 wake ups. Lo didn't wake until 5.45 had bottle and change (no nappy leakage for first time in a week) but kept doing cot gymnastics which meant he lost flat ted and as soon as he realises he's crying for him have been back into him 4 times to return said bear so he can go to sleep chewing it's feet. Now I'm up he's asleep and prob will be until after I go to work Sad

KateM77 · 07/08/2012 07:24

On my way to the Olympics again. This time just me and DH going to see athletics.

DH has some time off work at the moment, so we took the DC's to wicksteed park. Had a lovely day, and it was so nice to take them somewhere I used to go as a child myself. Also got some one on one time with DD at home to do some 'art' with glue, glitter etc. which I rarely get a chance to do normally.

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 07/08/2012 08:26

Kate Have a fab day at Olympics Smile

We had good sleepers here. Sky slept from 7:30 - 5:30 couple of oz's woke at 7:30 now gone back to sleep at 8:15 Smile

Question those of you who are using bottles when will you stop sterilising?
