Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
OiMissus · 27/07/2012 18:53

hawthers toast, chunks of fruit, pasta, today I had stir fry at lunch - I licked the chilli jus off the strips of courgette, pepper, baby corn cob, - he loved them. Then he had one of DH's thick cut chips. He likes mash, mushy peas, i preload a spoon and help a lot), bits of sausage, roast or steamed carrot sticks, roast parsnip, raw pepper, pretty much whatever we're having, but I've not tried many meats with him.

MissRee · 27/07/2012 20:43

Sorry I've been AWOL! Trying to get the weekday routine sorted. I'm exhausted - give me a newborn over this kind of tiredness any day...

Too much has happened to namecheck everyone Blush

Hawthers I gave freya some anya potatoes tonight and she loved them! They're just the right nobbly shape for her to hold too Grin

Mum took jack and Freya swimming on Monday. Apparently F loved it, but wasn't sure about the wave machine. Jack the wussiest child known to man went down the "fast" flume by mistake Grin I think he got a water wedgie! My Dad found it hilarious!

Our routine:

6.30 get up...
7am drop at relevant carer

...

8pm bath, bottle and bed Grin

I've told the GPs that they have free reign on her food but have supplied porridge, jars and sugar free rusks. If they want to feed her something else they're more than welcome to!

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 27/07/2012 20:46

Sky ate a fish cake today and thoroughly enjoyed it Smile I generally give what we eat and she loves helping herself lol!

Might invest in the BLW cookbook tho Grin might help with Darcie's eating habits too!

Well tomorrow is my hen day and so excited. Is it bad of me to say I need a break from the girls? I've been mentally drained this week.

NorthernChinchilla · 27/07/2012 21:12

Evening all. Am sitting here with a rather large G&T and glad the day's over...

That's horrendous news Oi; are you going to be OK financially (if that's not too personal a question)? I know I'd be bricking it if we'd just moved house and DP was suspended/sacked.
Bastards like that do tend to rely on people not fighting it. They can't suspend him for GM like that; for starters, the person actually has to have done something, and then they have to follow very, very tight guidelines. Nothing more to add other than what sage advice Gee's given, but the question will be whether you want to fight it or go for a deal.
My Mum was a v senior union official when I was younger, and this sounds so horribly familiar

That sounds like a dream day figgy Grin. Your DH apologised yet, or been drowned in swordfish?

Glad to see you air, how're you getting on?

And wooooo, MissRee, good to see you- and yes, I know that exhaustion...

I've been off mumsnet for a while & I'm just trying to catch-up on what's been going on with you all but I'm still 10 days behind so I'll try to write a proper post when I'm done.

Thought I'd mention as some of you seem to be looking at carseats that there's new legislation coming out next year which will mean babies have to stay rearfacing until 15 months as it's safer. I was really looking forward to Rocco facing us but we've decided to go with an extended rearfacing car seat as I've read that the BMJ published that rear facing seats are safer than forward facing seats for children under 4 years old. Anyway, don't want this to sound preachy, each to their own & all that but I was really glad that someone told me about erf so I thought I'd pass it on Grin I bet someone else has mentioned it anyway, sorry if so.

seven really sorry to hear your news Sad

gee I hope that by the time I get through reading all these posts minigee will be sleeping better Hmm

seven77 · 27/07/2012 22:02

Thanks honey, I'm honestly fine now though.

Good to hear from everyone who's been AWOL.

dsm enjoy your hen, you must be so excited!

Eva has been in a whingey grump all day, I think it's teeth. Does anyone else's LO still not have any yet? DH is at work, DCs in bed, and I'm watching the opening ceremony, though I should really be knitting. DH had an amusing phone call earlier from the surveyor who came to the flat. They wanted to check whether it was 1 or 1a. DH said it was number 1, they said "are you sure it's not 1a, that's what our paperwork says" Hmm

MissRee · 27/07/2012 22:22

No teeth here yet Seven, although plenty of grizzles and dribbles!

HoneyLovesCake · 27/07/2012 22:22

I'm reading the thread from the middle & the end now Hmm Glad to hear you're well seven I wasn't sure whether to even bring it up as I'm so far behind. Rocco has no teeth & hopefully he'll stay toothless until he learns not to bite mummy's nipples >_< His gums are hard enough to make me squeak without adding teeth!

I'm watching the opening ceremony too...slow start but it's growing on me.

LittleMissFlustered · 28/07/2012 01:11

Loved the end of it, passing the torch is hopefully just the beginning of the legacy or these games.

Right, I'm away to bed. Night all:)

LittleMissFlustered · 28/07/2012 01:36

Oh, zero teeth here seven. Lots of rock hard gums though, which make short work of apple quarters. He enjoys gumming them into submission:)

LittleMissFlustered · 28/07/2012 01:37

Oh, and I'm loving the Torch :o

hawthers · 28/07/2012 03:52

F has no teeth yet but that fushfinger earlier did not stand a chance faced with his mighty gums and legendary suck! Thanks for the recommendation of blw stuff. Will have to get stuck in.

aethelfleda · 28/07/2012 06:53

Banbury :( and the really annoying thing is that he settled better with DH than me (random grumpy grizzles on and off)... dH tends not to medicate him and is anal about avoiding bottles in the night now "as he doesn't want to set a precedent" (even though I suspect the odd bottle migjt be a good trade off for a few more hours sleep). So I did the neurofen thing, but cos DH is up he's tired too and wants a lie in. I have sympathy but am Banbury myself!

cycle race today and we'll show the the DDs some of the opening ceremony.

HoneyLovesCake · 28/07/2012 07:17

Morning I stayed up & finished reading so will catch up with you all after coffee & porridge. Thanks to an early for DS 7pm bedtime last night he was awake at 6, far too early for me >_

GeeandTee · 28/07/2012 08:02

Feeds at 2am and 6am, then up at 7.30am, no settling. Definitely an improvement! Although DS was having a bad dream about shoes (?!) So I had to go and reassure him at 5am as apparently DH didn't hear him Hmm

Yesterday DD learnt to wave and stick her tongue out. All very cute. She seems to be getting really bad separation anxiety at the moment though and cries if she can't see me at all times. Very difficult to get anything done!

Good to see you back honey

KateM77 · 28/07/2012 08:29

Banbury here too. Poor little man very unsettled and unhappy through the night. DD in with us from 5.30 too. DS still has temp of 37.8 this morning. Nurofen brings it down, but it then just goes back up again Sad

Figgygal · 28/07/2012 08:58

Sounds like a few of us had mixed nights we finally fell into bed at 11.15 as couldn't watch any more flags, we were up at 4.30 with lo who decided to scream and scream for 10 mind for no reason. He then woke at 6.15 I couldn't get out of bed was so tired so listened to him chatting to himself for a bit and next thing I knew it was 8.15 YEEESSSS so feel brilliant for a change rather than lurching about like a angry granny.

Today we are going into Bristol to watch the road race on the city centre big screen and then off celebrating our friends recent completion of the toughest 1 day triathlon in the UK which means its Los first overnight stay at PIL. He's stayed overnight with my parents in our house when We went to a wedding last month but not away from home without either of us. Feel wobbly about it do dh taking him up do I don't have to leave him and become a gibbering loon.

Have a fab day DSM and everyone else

We just bought doughnuts, and thing1 and thing3 got to decorate one each. This is going to end on a sugar high, but seeing as I don't care anymore it's all good:o

aethelfleda · 28/07/2012 14:20

We have seen our only live olympic event: the cycle race went right near our house so we waved flags and olympic torches. Zoom! (we'll do the same tomorrow for the laydeez. dD2 asked if I was going to participate!)

Quiet weekend for us, maybe some gardening will happen...

Kitty5824 · 28/07/2012 14:37

aethel prob saw you on the TV then not that I've been sat on my arse watching to cycling since 10am Torch

honey adding me to the slings and things page on fb has just cost me £56. I will soon be the proud owner of a preloved R&R in the Ooga Booga pattern Grin Paid from DH's paypal account though...wonder if he'll notice :-)

LittleMissFlustered · 28/07/2012 15:44

Is it wrong to be sat eating chocolates while the things play in the giant sandpit at the local park's veterans do?

KateM77 · 28/07/2012 18:27

DS has been poorly all day and still had temp. Spoke to out of hours gp earlier and she wasn't too concerned. Told me to hold off on nurofen as I was stopping his body fighting the bug. Temp now 38.9 so I called back. They're v busy so could take 3 hours before a gp calls me. Don't know what to do Sad

mopsytop · 28/07/2012 19:08

Nightmare Kate :( hope they ring back sooner thanthst. Have you stripped him down to his nappy? Is he taking liquids also? Don't know what to advise. I'd normally say calpol and/or ibuprofen. Hope it is all okay, sorry I can't be more help. It's so horribly stressful.

mopsytop · 28/07/2012 19:10

Also I would maybe ring nhs direct if they don't call back?
