That's so sad em is lo ok now? At that age they are so tiny and fragile.

Agree, fuzzzy is fab :)

Colposcopy was ok, nurses were wonderful. Took a biopsy, results in 2 weeks. She said "its really good you don't smoke, because that gives your body a chance to fight off the abnormal changes" - so if anyone is trying to quit, I hope that spurs you on!

lookout · 03/07/2012 20:58

I quit over a year ago and am very proud Grin

Glad it went ok today Sche, now to not focus too much on the delay before the results!

em your day sounds wonderful. Hope your friend's little one continues to mend. I saw my oldest friend (our mum's were in antenatal group together) for lunch a couple weeks ago and it was just lovely.

lovin we have a non-crawler too. He has a big brother and a mum and dad who brings him everything. Plus he's too chubby to move Grin. He was born on the 8th Oct, so they almost are birthday brothers!

E had another screaming fit before bed, so unlike him. I think it was teeth though cos he get rubbing his ear and chewing his fists Sad. Calpolled (verb borrowed from LP Wink) and he fell asleep soon after. This has been the longest 'fussy period' for a while. When are we in for some of those WOnder Week sunny periods???

emmazed · 03/07/2012 21:01

Fingers crossed all is ok with the results sch

All being well her baby will be ok, she is going for an MRI scan tomo when they will find out more. Just too awful to imagine anything happening when they are so little.

lovinbeingmum · 03/07/2012 21:19

lookout hear you on the chubby bit...that's what everyone tells me for R Grin also maybe I'm just repeating what has already been said but have you tried the homeopathic powder Teetha from boots. I give it before he goes to bed during the teething fussy periods - we tend to get a relatively decent night.
emmazed an MRI scan for such a little one is a horrible thought. R was in hospital at six months and we had to go through a spinal tap and an unbelievable amount of vein poking. The only positive was the docs telling me he's so young that he won't remember any bit of the experience....searching for hidden positives I guess. Fingers crossed for her....

strawberrypenguin · 03/07/2012 21:20

scheh glad it was ok today

em fx for your friends little one

Hi lovin do join us properly, we know who you are now :o welcome

Sorry haven't posted in a while - been sick! Amotai had his first big earthquake last night - a 7! - but slept right through it which was a surprise esp as I had grabbed him from his cot and was standing in a dooryway. And he still slept ... everyone is ok as was a deep quake but jeez it gave me a fright.

strawberrypenguin · 03/07/2012 21:22

lovin sorry to hear your LO had a hospital stay, is he ok now?

OP posts:
strawberrypenguin · 03/07/2012 21:24

pene sounds scary! Are you feeling better?

OP posts:
Scheherezade · 03/07/2012 22:15

pen that's terrifying! Are earthquakes common where you are?

MamaMaiasaura · 03/07/2012 22:21

scheh glad today went ok and hope results come back good

pene that must have been scarey! Aww at him sleeping thro it tho.

Emma glad you had good birthday and I hope your friends baby is ok. Puts life in perspective when you hear things like that

lovin hello Smile

BB3 I hope K is making a good recovery and you are all ok.

Lookout teething here too, shed done 3 on a week (last one a few says ago) and looks like another 2 or 3 coming.

Been up to infant school again.ds2 already had enough and doesn't want to go. Bless him tho, he cried at the story of Luke skywalker being read to him because he was sad about darth vadar/anakin Such a sensitive soul.

ipswichwitch · 03/07/2012 22:23

Scary stuff pene, hope things settled down now.
Hi lovin our boy is a non crawler/stander too. He's only small as he was 6wk prem so a bit behind everyone else. Makes up for it with a ton of smiles, giggles and his first word last week (mam! Which makes sense as I'm up north :) )
Glad it went well for you scheh and fingers crossed for results
Been a nightmare week here - N has gastroenteritis. Has been vomiting since Saturday and had some serious diarrhoea (all over cot at 2 this morning, spent precious sleepy time scrubbing his mattress). He is teething again so that's not helping, but he's been refusing solids and water, will only bf so we've worried about dehydration. Gp has said he's ok, not dehydrated, no ear/chest infections just a case of getting it out of his system and calpolling. He's looking very sorry for himself bless him, but has perked up a wee bit today so hopefully we have a better night. We had gone down to 1 night feed until he got I'll and now we're back to multiple wakings. Not good when I have to be up at 6 for work 5 days a week. I look like death warmed up!!!
Hope youre all getting better sleeps!

MamaMaiasaura · 03/07/2012 22:26

ipswitch poor N Sad (and you). At least he's still bfing. It's gentle on his tummy and prob best thing for him. You must be shattered tho. I hope he feels better soon.

golemmings · 03/07/2012 22:33

Evening all!
We have standing here. No talking but between me and dd I doubt he'll ever get a look in!
I shall go looking for the milletty stuff. It sounds interesting. And thanks for the calcium link sassy.

golemmings · 03/07/2012 22:42

Oh, and MRIs for really small babies are ok. Alex had one at 2 weeks and he was just swaddled and he slept through it. it may be more difficult at 12w but I imagine worse for mum than baby.
He also went through lumbar punctures etc at 5hrs old when he was screened for meningitis after being rigid and fitting after birth. (mind you, I wasn't there for that. I got to hold him at an hour and a half old when he was stable and then he was taken into icu at 3hrs and I couldn't see him until he was about 10hrs old). He went through so much in his first week but he's absolutely fine now. Had it not been for the reflux the paeds would have signed him off at 7mo because he's hitting all his milestones and is a fabulously happy chunky boy.

LittlePebble · 03/07/2012 22:44

ipswitch sorry N is poorly, having just come to the end of a three week stint I feel your pain. The doctors told me not to panic about fluids/ milk/ food etc. said he'd eat and drink when he wanted to just to offer it. E is only just now starting to eat again and his milk consumption is still really low (2oz this am, 2 in pm and 7 tonight)

lookout Grin the verb 'to calpol'
I calpolled
You calpolled
We calpolled....
Ipswitch just used calpolling too Wink

Scheh glad today wasn't too horrific will keep fx for good results.

Sassy hope statement writing was ok? Hows it going without DP, are the twins staying in their cots?

em oh bless him loving the cats! E loves our cat so much he pulls him over all the time (poor cat) its very cute but he loves him a bit too hard!

mama Envy of your afternoon. How're J's fingers today?

BB3 how is K today?

Fuzzzy PLEASE can you send me an owl hat instructions on how to make that owl hat, I love it!

Cheshire work is ok thanks, just had our biggest clients ever leave so can take a breather for a few days. Think it will be much quieter from now on and my other work is ending (as is maternity pay!) so I'm a bit Confused at what I do for money now.

LittlePebble · 03/07/2012 22:46

X post golemmings yay for standing!

And pene I'm Shock at your earthquake I wouldn't know what to do!

MamaMaiasaura · 03/07/2012 23:25

golemmings yay for standing (no talking here really either) Smile. I must've have missed or bee in complete baby haze but what happened with Alex? Sounds like a lot to deal with (for all of you)

littlepebble thanks for asking, her fingers are fine.no blistering at all so cold water must've helped.

Talking of injuries (I feel like a shit mother), J has a bruise on he'd bottom where she say down (plonked down), hard on a toy. Today I noticed a bruise on her leg and assume another injury from her crawling/standing/walking/climbing and falling exploits. I saw her bump her head (didn't get there in time). Anyway, am I the only one with little one doing this? I'm paranoid that when she has her review they'll think we are mistreating her SadSad

MamaMaiasaura · 03/07/2012 23:26

Her not he'd grrrr iPhone

strawberrypenguin · 03/07/2012 23:42

mama w bumps himself a lot too. He gets over excited and forgets he can't actually move properly yet so topples over or crash lands and I'm not always quick enough to catch him. He doesn't seem to bruise easily though and unless he's really hurt (like when he face planted on some stacking bricks) he doesn't even seem to notice most of the time.

lemmings yay standing! seems to be the week for it Grin (another non talker here too

strawberrypenguin · 03/07/2012 23:43

ipswitch sorry to hear about N sounds horrible for both of you, hope he feels better soon

sassy34264 · 04/07/2012 01:14

sorry its a bit late take everything in but i'll try my best,

welcome lovin

pene soooo scary, glad you and a are ok. x

ipswich sorry about n being ill. hopefully he will perk up soon if there are no infections.

mama poor j she is in the wars. dont worry, im sure everyone can see what an earth mother you are. Smile

pebble kinda finished the statement. it makes for depressing reading though- just what i need dragging to the forefront of my mind- all the sodding abuse i went though when i was younger. good job im popping a pill in a minute! Grin

i didnt give the twins a nap today, so they were out after 5mins- hooray!

scheh fingers crossed for 2 weeks time.

emmazed sorry about your friends lo. x

bb3 how is k doing? and you?

ok apologises if i missed anything.

going to bed now. night. x

Scheherezade · 04/07/2012 09:31

I'm definitely building up a tolerance, just woke up in bed asleep with C (also asleep)... Only last thing I remember was him screaming in my ear, and me holding his legs and arm to stop him scratching/kicking me! So I'd fallen asleep mid tantrum. Of course he woke up and carried on where he'd left off Hmm

go I didn't realise what a scary time you had, did docs ever find out what happened?

lookout · 04/07/2012 09:33

Wow, you lot were busy last night.

Pene whereabouts are you? A friend had an earthquake yesterday or day before in NZ. Anywhere near you? T'would totally freak me out!

lovin have only tried those old-fashioned powders but they don't seem to do anything. Willt ry the teetha ones when I can get to a Boots. WHat happened to your lo? Is it all better now?

ips poor you guys! Gastro is horrid horrid horrid, and for such a little one. Must be really toughon both of you! Hope things are mending and you will get back ontr ack woth the sleep soon.

lemmings hooray for standing! They all do stuff at different times, so a non-talker may walk first etc. E isn't talking or standing though haha! Lazy bugger tyke Grin

Mama it's inevitable once they start moving that they are gonna get bumped, they have no self-awareness yet, do they? Everyone knows that and noone is gonna think badly of you!

sassy hopefully this statement, hard as it is to write, will help the courts see your side of things. When do you next go to court?

Slightly better night here: up twice but straight back to sleep after a feed and up at 6. Still not brilliant but much better than the 4am starts we've been having!

lookout · 04/07/2012 09:34

xposts Sche sounds like a gift - falling asleep mid-tantrum Grin you should bottle it and sell it far and wide!

Scheherezade · 04/07/2012 09:48

Oops missed your post Ips sorry. Sorry to hear N is unwell, have drs prescribed anything?
