New thread!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
bilblio · 28/06/2012 23:13

Haven't a clue. I've never even been to the food court. At least I don't think so. My only other trip to the Trafford Centre was for another MN meet and we went to Giraffe(?) So Subway sounds good. I'm sure I'll find it.
I've just changed my FB pic so it looks a bit more like me... less arty :)

Scheh I'll message you my phone number too if you don't mind...it might help.

Scheherezade · 29/06/2012 03:02

Think I'll need somewhere that sells strong coffee, C not happy tonight.

Making bottle at 3am is not fun.

Outnumbered4to1 · 29/06/2012 04:04

Hi all. I have a new confession. L is about to go to bed in the same long sleeved bodysuit as last night and he wore it all day Blush

Just back from a family friendly party. All lovely until I noticed this 2 year old had a rash. Being ever so slightly OCD I ask DH to find out what it was. He started up a conversation and apparently they are just back from china and haven't got around to going to the doctor yet. Someone said it definitely looked bacterial. WTAF? Angry

I made an excuse and got the kids out of there. DH is still there and I'm furious.

Scheherezade · 29/06/2012 08:17

That's awful 4to1 just made me think though, should I bring C to the meet if he's just been ill??

FuzzzyDuckosaurus · 29/06/2012 08:43

Shock 4! Poor kid Sad

sassy34264 · 29/06/2012 09:04

out i would be fuming too. some people are just thick as feck. hope your dc's dont get it.

scheh im ok with you bringing c, i doubt they will be in thar close proxmity and its no worse than what they pick up at playgroup.

scheh bilblio i think cheshire said to meet at the bandstand in the food court.

tbh the food court is sign posted and once you are in there we will find you. its not that big and we can just wonder around asking random ladies if the are scheh or bilblio Grin

well, i went to tri training last night and really enjoyed it. was rather self conscious as i was the fattest there, but i wasnt the slowest, so not to bad. they all seemed rather impressed that i finished everything ie, didnt walk some bits are drop out of anything.

by the time i got home though i had twinges, aches and pains in A LOT of places. although not too bad this morning. definately going again next week.

Scheherezade · 29/06/2012 09:32

Bandstand is good. Now to get fed/dressed/bus!

bilblio · 29/06/2012 09:37

Argh! Why do things always go wrong when you have plans?!

Cheshire, Sassy, Scheh Sorry I can't make it. Have a great time and hopefully I'll get to the next one.

I got about 3 hours sleep last night. S was fine, it's DH keeping me awake fidgeting.

This morning I've sent DD into school in tears saying she's poorly. I don't think she is but I'm not certain so I'd best stay close to home just in case.

CheshireDing · 29/06/2012 09:39

Out how can they have time to go to a party but not take their child to the GP with a rash after a foreign holiday!? Poor guy and poor you.

Scheh snots/colds etc are different from a rash imo and. P has taken a Sophie Giraffe off a baby in class who was absolutely COVERED in snot. They are going to get loads of germs so of course bring him. A rash after being in a 2nd world country is a bit different though.

BB3 hope everything goes well for Monday. Although I am sure it will. Your idea of starting out with a friend sounds a much better idea and at least it will be all for yourselves then even if you are workig really hard, it's for you. Are you going to be working from home then?

Pebble how is the business going?

Fuzzzy any luck with work?

Thinking I might have to start touting my CV out as a back-up but that kind of depresses me thinking about going to work :(

Pene did you make a nursery decision? Have you got the hours you wanted at work now.

Ok I think that's it for my noseyness :)

I don't mind bandstand or Subway I will check if random ladies are hanging round either as going out now. See you later. Sassy has my number and I have sent you a message with it on fb Scheh.

CheshireDing · 29/06/2012 09:40

Ok Bilb hope she is okay and we can meet up with you another time.

FuzzzyDuckosaurus · 29/06/2012 11:37

Welcome back buffy. Glad to hear dd is doing well Smile
cheshire no luck with a job yet Sad. It's soul destroying when you spend hours updating cv, filling out application forms to then hear nothing back. I watch for the postman every morning hoping he will bring a letter of good news!!! No hope of a nanny job as there is nothing so starting to look further afield. Good luck handing your cv out. What is your job field?
sch how is little C today? We had a good night of sleep but very cuddly this morning. She ate breakfast which I was happy with. Wondering if she just ate something dodgy hence the sickness.
Enjoy your meet up today ladies!! Lots of photos in fb group later Grin

LittlePebble · 29/06/2012 13:33

Welcome back buffy

Hope meet up goes well today Envy

Eli and I have worst luck at the mo, after being ill last week we have a stinking cold now and he has a chest infection. Am struggling a bit as its been busy for last two weeks with big clients from work and I've had such little sleep Sad
But today is my first day off so E is fast asleep on me while hopefully the antibiotics kick in.

strawberry how is your holiday?

BB3 good luck for Monday x

outnumbered I would have been Shock too at them going to a party without getting dc checked by a doctor.

Sorry for anyone I've missed Blush falling asleep myself now....

FuzzzyDuckosaurus · 29/06/2012 14:17

lp poor little guy (and you!!). Hope you managed to get a rest. I'm blaming this weather! Couple of days away from JULY and it's like this!

Engelsmeisje · 29/06/2012 18:21

woo-hoo! Last day of term. 7 weeks of freedom and lots of MNing Grin

lookout · 29/06/2012 18:30

Hi all. Having a lot of trouble keeping up with the thread, you talk too much Grin

Hope the meet up went well today. How far did we get with the South meet up? I can't remember Blush

Sorry to hear there are still lots of poorly babies. We do seem to have a lot more illness with E than we did with ds1, but I guess ds1 is bringing stuff back from school all the time, and you ladies with babies in nursery must pick up stuff left right and centre! Still, it's all good for the immune system, at least that's what I tell myself!

Feel for all fo you looking for work. It's one of the hardest things to do I think. I hope you get some good news soon Fuzzzy and Chesh if you decide to do it.

sassy caught up with your triathlon antics and you should be proud of yourself - 9 months after a baby, with other kids and you can manage to exercise?! I am just lazy too tired so have utmost respect for any of you doing exercise. I am also a bit Envy as I'd love to be more active but don't know where to find the time/energy or where to start even!

Is anyone puree feeding? We've given up on the BLW as the choking was driving me mad, he hardly ate anything even after all this time and I just wasn't into it. Going much better with purees but just wanted to know how much your traditionally weaned babies were eating at each meal?

E is feeding really bizarrely atm as well. He'll suck for about 2 minutes then come off, play with my nip for a bit then lose interest Confused. Of course at night he's feeding like a trooper, 3 times for 20mins at a time at the moment Angry

Must be coming up for a wonder week cos this is the 3rd week of rubbish sleep after things having got a bit better. Still no crawling or standing, he's 21lb and a bit though, so probably too heavy to move Grin. He does clap hands and kiss when we ask though which is very cute! No decipherable words but I'm putting that down to two languages at home, took ds1 a bit longer to talk as well.

Here's hoping for some better sleep all round and an end to snotty noses very soon!

lookout · 29/06/2012 18:32

Man, just realised I wrote an essay. Sorry for anyone who felt they had to read to the end Grin

Scheherezade · 29/06/2012 20:12

fuzzzy Aww poor S, must have missed that she was poorly too. Glad she's better. Discovered a new tooth today so I'm wondering if it has something to do with that.

Job stuff is rubbish, isn't it. I'm so grateful DP has a good job, praying my old temp agency will have me back.

Have you managed to get some rest, Bilblio ?

How are you and E Lp ?

What have you got planned with your holidays Engel ? All our all two of them baby groups stop over the summer holidays.

lookout I hate the term "blw". C self feeds, I do about 60-70% finger foods. I don't follow any book or fad, just give him soft things to self feed, like bananas, bread & butter, fruit, rice crackers, omlettes etc. And then I spoon feed as well. So breakfast is porridge with banana chunks. He feeds himself banana whilst I shovel in the porridge. Lunch is all finger food, then dinner works same as breakfast. C occasionally "chokes" but never to the point of obstructing breathing. I just started off with soft finger food, and gradually increased hardness, he's still not eating proper hard food. Purees have to be lumpy so they get used to lumps and chewing/swallowing.

Right, my dinners here, but a good time was had today :) can confirm the gorgeousness of both girls (and their babies Wink ) and the twins are so well behaved! Made C look like a wild yob which he is

Scheherezade · 29/06/2012 20:39

Sorry realised that sounded a bit aggressive! Just meant to say that I do both spoon & finger food, just make the finger food soft.

emmazed · 29/06/2012 21:07

lookout I give Joseph purees (tho now I am mashing not pureeing). I give him:
Breakfast 8 baby spoons of cereal with 2oz milk followed by about a third of mashed banana
Lunch: 7 ice cubes of protein food eg chicken/beef caserole etc it has a high % of veggies & carbs in because he doesn't like too much protein. Think it is strong tasting. Followed by mashed fruit, maybe an apricot, a couple of strawberrys etc.
Dinner: 7 ice cubes of veggie food eg pasta & sauce, minestrone soup etc followed by fruit (as above) mixed with yoghurt
My thought process is easy to digest things at night so he doesn't go to bed with a tummy gurgling etc. not sure of it works, but he does generally sleep through.
I also give 3 bottles of formula (2x8,1x5)
Hope that helps, let me know if you want more info as happy to help

Hi buffy welcome back

TallyBear · 29/06/2012 21:24

lookout/Sch we're still sort of doing half blw as well as spoon (the blw traditionalists would be horrified!) Seb doesn't always eat a lot, unlike C but the sound of it, and I'm sure would eat more if we were doing just spoon food, although I don't know as sometimes he doesn't want that either. I try not to get too stressed about it. He still gags occasionally (do you mean choke or gag?) but it just comes out and he starts again. The other day he preferred his courgette to a piece of sausage, prompting dh to say 'he's no son of mine'!! Grin He seems to love his veg! I'm making the most of it while I can...

Envy of the meet. Is that the photo on fb?

bilb - 6 teeth, nice one. (p.s. Hope you've been OK.)

Good luck to those looking for work (Fuzzy and Cheshire?!)

Pebble hope you manage to get some sleep and feel better.

Love your poo story Grin...

Scheherezade · 29/06/2012 21:55

Omg, I thought C ate a lot but he only gets 3-4 cubes mash at dinner Blush and 2x 7oz, 1x6oz. just goes to show they're all different.

Scheherezade · 29/06/2012 21:59

Honestly, how I can panic about feeding him too much one day, then too little the next....._ but he's gaining more than enough weight, is fed when hungry and seems happy enough (bar clingy tantrums)...

Scheherezade · 29/06/2012 22:01

Sorry, multiple posts.

Yep, photo of Poppy, Evie (Evelyn?) and Cyrus on fb :)

I offer C 8oz occasionally but he doesn't drink it, 7 is a stretch

lookout · 29/06/2012 22:06

Thanks for the replies about feeding.

Sche I am Envy at C's eating. Sounds like you have it down perfectly Smile

TB no, this is definitely choking as in he can't breathe gets red in the face and we have to bang his back to get the food out. It's happened four times so far, and he gags on everything, and I do mean everything solid we give him. And he would cry afterwards and refse to put anything else in his nous mouth. So I am puree/mashing from now on. I know what you mean about not getting too stressed, I try not to as well. I was just wondering what other traditonalists were doing. I seem to hear a lot about blw-ers atm, and not much about purees!

emma 7 cubes?? Obviously E doesn't have much of an appetite. He has 1 tbsp of baby cereal with 8tbsp oat milk/water and 1 cube of fruit for breakfast but doesn't often finish it. For lunch he has 4 cubes of protein/veg/potato then 2 fruit with 1 baby spoon of goat yogurt. Then we were doing finger food for tea until he choked on toast 2 days ago, so now we do the same as lunch - 3 cubes of puree, has been fish and veg so far, followed by 2 cubes fruit no yogurt. What pasta are you giving him, out of interest? I know with ds1 we gave him that alphabet pasta, do you think that would be ok with some kind of puree/mash sauce?

lookout · 29/06/2012 22:09

Sorry for typos - wine Blush
