Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Scheherezade · 22/06/2012 10:22

Had my first ever smear last week (only just turned 25) and its come back abnormal :( :(

MamaMaiasaura · 22/06/2012 10:36

Don't panic scheh what are they going to do? Another smear or referral? I had abnormal after ds1 and all fine. Dsis had abnormal and cells lasered off and she's fine too. (hug)

FuzzzyDuckosaurus · 22/06/2012 10:47

sch sometimes they don't swab enough cells so can come back abnormal. Please don't panic (hard I know) Sad
Reminds me, I must book mine

Overreactionoftheweek · 22/06/2012 11:11

scheh I had this, got as far as having a colposcopy, when they take a little snip of cells to test, but all was fine...back to having smears every 3 years now. Think abnormal results are quite common, fingers crossed all is fine.

Scheherezade · 22/06/2012 11:38

Thanks all! Got to have a colposcopy. Annoying as a few months ago I went to docs with irregular bleeding and they said was nothing they could do as I was too young for a smear.

Scheherezade · 22/06/2012 11:40

Letter says I have something called mild dyskinethia or however its spelt.

FuzzzyDuckosaurus · 22/06/2012 11:51

I think it's madness that even though you went with bleeding they still wouldn't do a smear Angry. In Scotland, we have them every 3 years from your 20th birthday. I've just booked mine for the week after next. Not looking forward to it Sad

CheshireDing · 22/06/2012 14:47

I have had loads like that Scheh, it's better that they keep an eye on it anyway. I have to go every year because sometimes mine are abnormal, then they are okay, then abnormal again, it can just be where abouts the "dodgey" cells are taken from.

Sleep here has gone rubbish again for the last 3 nights but I am not really sure why, I am thinking tonight when P wakes after 40 minutes I might try and give her a piece of toast instead of bf as if it's carbs I wondered if it might fill her for longer Hmm

Has anybody elses baby started poking at their bits? Grin I ask because I don't know if P is just "investigating" or whether she is itchy or something.

MamaMaiasaura · 22/06/2012 15:14

No poking here yet Cheshire. Might be teething or she's about to hit another milestone.

MamaMaiasaura · 22/06/2012 15:15

J fell of bed today Sad I fell asleep after morning feed and woke to her thump down and cry. She's alright tho phew. Thank goodness for her chubbyness

emmazed · 22/06/2012 15:18

cheshire he stands holding on to me or a chair/sofa. No where near him doing it himself. Joseph has been paying with his willy during nappy off for months. I presumed it was normal. It makes him smile!

ips sorry about the poo/constipation issues, hopefully it will resolve itself

sassy poor Chloe. That must be so hard for you all

I am sure I have forgotten to comment on loads of you - so much to keep up with.

Overreactionoftheweek · 22/06/2012 15:20

Cheshire ds has grabbed himself once, dh was most proud Hmm

Aw mama I always think we get more upset than they do when that stuff happens.

So after this morning's sleep training, H has gone down for two naps since without making a peep - he's just lulling me into a false sense of security isn't he?! :o

LittlePebble · 22/06/2012 15:26

mama Sad hope she's ok. Eli bonked his head this morning too (head butted the edge of the door while trying to crawl through it Hmm)

Cheshire sleep has gone really bad again here too, we had 2 front teeth, then sore throat, now a cough and I think separation anxiety....I'm exhausted I feel like I did when he was 6 weeks old but I wasn't trying to run a business then

Scheh hope you're ok x

I missed lunch again today and then gastro thingy flared up so generally feeling a bit Sad and [tired emoticon]

(That's a thought why on earth don't Mumsnet have a tired emoticon???)

LittlePebble · 22/06/2012 15:26

over what sleep training are you doing?

ipswichwitch · 22/06/2012 15:58

sassy thankyou, that was a help, and am so :( for your Chloe, i do hope things start getting better for her (and you!). i actually do the type of scans you mentioned and see lots of kids with recurrent uti's and its such hard going. funnily enough though, until your post i had no idea that constipation could have that sort of impact. after reading your post though i have to say i'm glad we havent given N any of the suppositories they had prescribed yet. they just look far too big for such a small baby and seems to me i could end up doing some damage to him trying to insert one of those. i'm a bit wary of adding the movicol to ebm as its took some considerable effort to get him to accept milk from a bottle, and i'm aware that the movicol doesnt taste nice. i ended up ringing the gp (after N spat pretty much all the movicol out that i tried to give him), and he suggested going back to lactulose but doubling the dose until we get back to the consultant.

BB3, good luck for you DS and his op. we cant see any poo when he's constipated. he'll strain and then pump lots if he cant poo.

Grin at lp, if you'd seen the nappy he left post-poo yesterday you'd think he'd popped!!

scheh, i've had quite a few come back abnormal, and they've repeated at 6 months, and for some reason these ones are normal. reminds me actually, i need to book for next month as i had one in jan that was abnormal. i know a fair few people that have had colposcopy and they have all come back fine. and thankyou for you comment, you made me smile :)

sorry you're feeling :( lp and hope you're better soon. and how's eli's head? N had managed to flip himself off the sofa the other day (right out of my arms too) and landed on all fours, stayed like that for a few seconds in shock, and when he twigged that he was on his front started screaming hysterically!! i did also knock his head on the bathroom door the other day, but he didnt even cry. i felt horrible though! agree MN needs a tired emoticon, and maybe also a poorly one, and a chocolate one.

MamaMaiasaura · 22/06/2012 16:38

sassy just read your post about Chloe Sad how hard for her and you. I had no idea that constipation and suppositories could impact like that for so long. Is it something they've only recently linked? It must be hard at school for her.

CheshireDing · 22/06/2012 16:59

Maybe I won't worry too much about P poking at herself then Hmm

How's the business going in this weather Pebble? It's a walk part of the world isn't it so I hope not too affected.

Sassy sorry to hear about your gorgeous DD.

We talked about constipation in baby reflexology yesterday I wonder whether it's worth looking in to Ipswich for N?

Maybe even Chloe too Sassy?

Lots of hand banging/falling on settee/bed here too Sad I only turned round to put my slippers on :(

Had some very exciting news this afternoon that Waitrose are very interested in stocking my products, trying not to get too excited but it's difficult :)

Sassy and Scheh what time do you want to meet next Friday at TC? Is 12 noon okay? Either Starbucks round the corner from the cinema, or when you go in the John Lewis entrance there is a Costa/Cafe Nero (can't remember which it is) which is quite big and has a nice area at the back). I am flexible.

CheshireDing · 22/06/2012 17:00

I think it's a Cafe Nero now I have looked, it's big and brown!

Overreactionoftheweek · 22/06/2012 17:57

little it's controlled crying I think. I put him down, then go in every 5 mins to pat, stroke and shush him - but no picking up as I always used to rock him to sleep so trying to break that habit. It took about 30mins this morning for him to drop but in the two naps since, he's gone straight down.

Tonight will be the real test because he can tell the difference between naps and bedtime and goes nuts when he knows I won't be getting him up again until morning! He was self soothing before this but a nasty cold threw him off track

Outnumbered4to1 · 22/06/2012 18:18

Wow! Falling behind again Blush

Sassy - sorry to hear that about your dd, how awful for both of you. I hope with time she gets over it completely x

Scheh I had an abnormal smear at 21 and a colposcopy that revealed no abnormalities. I think it's pretty common. Fx for you x

I'm trying to keep up with you all but feeling out of sorts since my medication was adjusted on Monday. We are well, my mum is here again. Hard to keep both ER and DH happy though Sad also we really need to fix the sleep problems as I'm a wreck but I don't feel I have the strength to do it.

Outnumbered4to1 · 22/06/2012 18:19

Jnice btw! Keep forgetting I NC Blush

emmazed · 22/06/2012 18:42

outnumbered don't feel stressed keeping up, if you miss some it is no problems at all. Not worth worrying about. Sorry you have felt down, hope it improves soon and you get some sleep.

Bb3 good luck for ds op - sorry I didn't say before. My niece had an op at 3 removing her adanoids and it really improved everything so much. Her younger bro will have the same as soon as he is old enough. It is stressful a LO having an op, but worth it for the improvements for them

strawberrypenguin · 22/06/2012 19:57

sassy hope things get better for Chloe

mama how's J? W fell on a building block a few weeks ago and had a square bruise on his head and he was fine after the initial crying.

scheh try not to worry too much xx

OP posts:
strawberrypenguin · 22/06/2012 19:58

BB3 how does DS feel about his upcoming op or is he not aware of it? It's touch seeing them in hospital but I'm sure he'll be fine x

OP posts:
strawberrypenguin · 22/06/2012 20:01

outnumbered take it easy on yourself, will your meds level out soon or will you have to get them readjusted if they haven't settled soon? (don't feel like you have to answer btw)
