Sky has gone back to bed for a nap. Darcie is up, dressed & had breakfast and now watching The Queens Palace programme on Buckingham Palace. (She loves history).

I'm going to jump in the shower in an attempt to wake up! Also going to try Sky on 3 meals today using formula & baby rice to thicken food up to see if it fills her up enough to sleep overnight!

I have just cashed in all my clubcard vouchers to double up the points, in order to get an outside table tennis table for us DH's birthday. Grin
Not sure what we'll do with it until we can move house, but the vouchers have to be used within a certain time, and it's DH's birthday on Monday.
I'd been watching them on ebay, but it's obviously that time of year, and second hand tables were still selling for over £100. Which is a lot of money for something that might be a bit bent or rusty, with no guarantees.
Then I got an email from tesco this morning reminding me that I had £175 of vouchers to spend. fantastic! So we'll get a top quality. shiny new table for free!

  • It is virtually free because I am rubbish at saving the vouchers in a safe place. I love the fact that tesco now saves them for you!
Very exciting. We don't have any garden furniture for the new house and garden, but who cares when you've got Ping Pong? yippee! (It'll come in handy for our MN house warming party too!)

Hi all, northern v sorry about your chin, it's so upsetting to lose a pet.

I have started giving minim some baby rice and some puréed apple. Just since sat. Some times she's ok with it, sometimes she's like 'meh'. She's opening her mouth though so obviously gets eating :) and she tried to get a chip off my plate on Monday too!!

I always count minim as 'sleeping through' cos she doesn't need a feed between 7pm-7am but she wakes up and needs to be settled several times a night, it varies between 3-4 times and 10-15 times on a very bad night but usually about 5 times. But it's only a few minutes each time to settle her so it still counts as sleeping through right? Anyway, if it's 5 or so times or fewer a night, in my head I've still had a full night's sleep so I'm counting it as sleeping through :) the nights where she wakes up every half hour/hour are fairly tiring though, I must admit. Last night was only about 5 times. She does like to wake up at 6 though and makes LOADS of noise!

V soggy jubilee weekend here and freezing too. Was like late October not June!!

Right off out for a walk in the drizzle. Sorry not to reply individually, I can't manage it on the phone , hope you're all well.

On but I did mean to say hawthers, hope you are getting on okay. Lack of sleep makes everything a million times worse and makes life hard to cope with, hope you can get some support.

aethelfleda · 06/06/2012 09:45

. morning. More feeds at 4 and 5 = zombie mummy. dH saved day by letting me have a fee hours li-e-in.

Taking DDs bowling/softplay, then I think will have early night to tru and catch up with kip a bit. You read it here, solids do not make 'em sleep!

Figgygal · 06/06/2012 10:26

My baby has gone for his 1st settling in day at childminder I feel like my arm has been cut offSad didn't cry though amazingly Grin. Am going to clean the microwave to take mind off it.

He slept until 5 this morning then bottle and back to sleep to 7.30 just need to drag him out another hour!! I blame the massive poosplosion we had this morning for waking him it was full of undigested carrots and peas it was horrible!!

I'm waiting for some1 to pick up a pushchair I've sold on eBay I bought it off eBay a few weeks ago as spare but it is too big unfortunately. Have been practising putting it up and down and I'm really sad to Be letting it go for £20 as it's a fab mamas and papas pliko 3. Once she's been I'm off to try find new work trousers without having to worry about fighting a pushchair into a changing room. 20 days until my mat leave bubble bursts Sad

aethelfleda · 06/06/2012 10:36

Well done figgy, it is weird the first few days but you'll soon get into it! I remember actually visiting a toddler group without baby when my DD2 was settling in as there were no coffee shops near her childminder and I wanted a cuppa and chat, as I only had an hour and didn't want to just go home!

PingpIng sounds fab oi, party at yours?!?!

OiMissus · 06/06/2012 10:46

Commiserations figgy, I know your pain. It's tough being apart from them, but it does get easier. (I cried on his first real day at nursery.)
Well I cashed in my vouchers - having to type in the long codes for 20-odd vouchers. Then I got sent the new vouchers. Then I tried to place the order, but it wouldn't work online - wouldn't accept the delivery address. Two customer service calls later and much adding and deleting of addresses... Still not working. Then I was passed to place the order over the phone.
We went through the order details, the delivery details, I then had to read out the 35 long voucher codes (this took a while, "No, M not n, f not S" etc.) Then the order failed as it wouldn't take the vouchers...
So now they will call me back within 48 hours to sort out a gift card.
The gift card will be sent to me then within 3-5 days.
Then I will be able to use that online to buy DH's present.
By which time, his birthday will have been and gone, but there's not a lot I can do, as I've cashed in the vouchers. Gahhhhh!
(The other option was to pay for it in cash, then use the giftcard in store - but only for Toys and Games. I think not!)
And now it's 10:45!

Rashkakeller · 06/06/2012 11:02

Got a wriggly baby on lap...

Oi I, without fail, have had problems with Tesco online everytime I've tried to use it! Last time, I complained and they have given me £5 credit. Big whoop.

Ds had a nap in his cot this morning so have, thus far, changed our bedding, had breakfast, washed up, put load on, weeded driveway, pulled some weeds and sprayed weed killer out back and squirted stuff down the loo and round the basin.

Ds is now screaming at me on the floor so best do something with him haha.

hawthers · 06/06/2012 11:24

Trying in vain to get F's naps sorted in the hope that he will sleep better as a result at night. Buggered up the first one as put him down in his bouncy chair but he only had 30 mins. Will try again after lunch having just walked around the park for another 20 mins unsuccessfully. Hang on his eyes are actually closed... Is he asleep though or just lulling me into a false hope?!

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 06/06/2012 11:25

Oi We always go in store to sort our vouchers, due to previous online ishoos!

Well am at a friends - we are sorting my wedding flowers out today. She has taken her dog to vets and I'm sat here with two 5 month old babies...Sky has just eaten her porridge and now chewing on her toy cow and friends baby is fast asleep on floor - doing well for now lol Grin

OiMissus · 06/06/2012 13:32

I have sent an email of complaint about their very silly service. They should be informed of how ridiculous it is and i won't say no to a fiver ! And you never know, miracles might happen, and someone may give some customer service, override the computers, and get DH his table in time.
Juggling two 5 month olds, dsm, you are a very brave lady! (At least they aren't running about just yet!)

OiMissus · 06/06/2012 14:03

yawn.
Anyway, what do you have planned for father's day presents? I need inspiration. We need something wonderful and memorable and free/cheap.

KateM77 · 06/06/2012 14:12

Oi I collected DH's fathers day present this morning. It's not cheap though! I figured as it's the last year I'm earning any money of my own as opposed to spending his, I'd splash out! Also, as we're only having 2 DC's this worked well: I got cufflinks from fingerprint jewellery company. One has DD's name and handprint on, and the other has DS' name and footprint on. I'm really pleased with how they've turned out Smile

MissRee · 06/06/2012 14:26

I'm doing DP a mug with a pic of both kids on it. He already has one with him and Jack so now he needs one with both Grin

OiMissus · 06/06/2012 14:42

DH got me a mug with Ali's pic on for Mother's day. and I did foot handprints in cards for the grandma's and me.
Hmmm...

Figgygal · 06/06/2012 14:55

I'm all for complaining today oi go get them!! I'm off to find the contact details for one stop hq as my local store have whacked up the price of sma infant gold cartons from 70p to 89p Angry utter profiteering am very angry!! I went to Tesco And got some for 65p instead but that shop is 2 minute walk from home so would prefer if they change their ways.

He's back from childminder he's survived am taking him to dr in a min as he's had this cough a week today and they've got an appt this afternoon for him. Such good service at our surgery is unheard of must be his age.

Rashkakeller · 06/06/2012 16:06

I'm sure Tesco own One Stop ...I may be wrong so don't quote me on it!

Asa makes the most unearthly noises, really screeches loud, I love it!

HoneyLovesCake · 06/06/2012 16:13

Sleep ishoos here so sorry I'm too tired to namecheck >_<

Rocco is 6 months today & 19lbs 6. Have started BLW. Don't think he's keen on banana or avocado, tomato went down ok & toast & blueberry pancakes were a hit...what a surprise, he loves carbs just like me! Maybe I should ditch the veg & go straight to cake Hmm

Oi If I get my act together I plan on getting OH a mug from Truprint as they sent me a voucher; not very inspiring but he's impossible to buy for...asks for idiotic things like night vision goggles Grin

Figgygal · 06/06/2012 16:43

Stoopid question of the day but can I make scrambled eggs with normal milk rather than formula? He's 24 weeks tomorrow Wink

OiMissus · 06/06/2012 16:45

Night vision goggles? Easy!
My DH wants a jet pack. He believes that BOi will save the day and actually really invent one. Grin

HoneyLovesCake · 06/06/2012 17:08

figgy DH Weaning Leaflet :)

aethelfleda · 06/06/2012 17:24

Figgy, as long as you're not Family Allergy-Central, then general feeling is that from 6 months (26 weeks), dairy is fine in cooking (though continue to use BM or formula until 12 months as the main milk drink). So milk in mashes, sauces and scrambled eggs is fine. Prior to 26 weeks hold off on the dairy. I can't wait until 26 weeks when we'll be cracking open the fromage frais and basically giving DS pretty much everything we have. Sticks of cheese, pasta in white sauce, creamed mushrooms...

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 06/06/2012 19:00

Am I a bad parent? Apparently DD1 controls me and I let her get away with everything Sad feel shit tbh and just want to cry.

Figgygal · 06/06/2012 19:43

Think I'll leave the eggs a few more weeks I had childhood egg allergy and mil still has 1.

dsm I'm guessing your oh is responsible for that comment no wonder you're upset. I think he needs a massive kick up the arse before you get married to him as he seems less than supportive to you.
