Honey Which hotel on Hayling Island did you stay in? I live 5 mins down the road from Hayling.

Hawthers Sorry for your lack of sleep.

Sky woke once at 3am had turned around in her cot and got stuck! Soon got her sorted and back to sleep.

Chill out day for us. May go to local fayre later if not raining.

aethelfleda · 20/05/2012 08:10

< brews enooormous coffee for Hawthers>

Morning. Fairly quiet day: gettng DS baptised today and then relaxing at home. Had travel cot success at the NCT sale (found a compact one, unusual brand but it looks robust), was v restrained: got a few small baby toys and some craft stuff and a cool shoot-em-up Ben 10 game for the DDs. Have to resist buying stuff when trying to declutter!!!

msbuggywinkle · 20/05/2012 08:47

Morning!

Crap night here, DD1 up being sick three times. We're letting her sleep in as it is my Grandad's 80th birthday party this afternoon. I'm really excited about it, he was so ill last year we really thought he wouldn't see this birthday.

Still, there is bacon and coffee to wake me up and the promise of a nice pint later!

NorthernChinchilla · 20/05/2012 08:48

Oooh, oooh, please can I join the BioHaz crew? Pretty please?

Thought I was coming down with something last night, and sure enough, streaming head cold has arrived. Snot, sneezing, etc. Would explain why I was so ultra knackered the past few nights if that was bubbling under.
But it was my turn with DS last night- on paper, fine. He stirs at 5.45, pop dummy in, he goes through to half 6. Unfortunately, he'd woken me at half four with all his ferreting (the lip-smacking, wtf?!), and I did not get back to sleep. Was blowing my nose and sneezing under the duvet cover so as not to wake him.

And I've had to get up with DS, and finish off making the cake filling this morning as it's DP's birthday and he's getting a lie-in... greater love hath no woman, etc..

Hawthers, you sound done in, what on earth's happened? And DS1 will get there with the potty training- was it air who went through this recently?

Hope you have a lovely day with getting DS baptised aethel. Are many family coming or is it just the spawns and you and DP?

How's it going without gas MissRee?

MissRee · 20/05/2012 09:04

Happy birthday MrChinnie Grin

It's not too cold actually! We went to DPs parents for dinner and when we got home it was still 20 degrees in here! It's slightly chillier this morning but too bad Grin

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 20/05/2012 09:13

MrChinnie Happy Birthday Grin

Northern Feel better soon.

Aethel Have a lovely day for DS baptism.

MissRee Hopefully it doesn't get to cold for you.

I've been treated to breakfast & cup of tea in bed Grin

hawthers · 20/05/2012 09:28

Potty training went disastrously yesterday then both boys were up all night. Had about 2 hours of wonky sleep in a row, I ache, am tetchy and want to cry am so tired. Not sure I can face another day of wees all over the place and poos in pants but all the advice is to go cold turkey.

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 20/05/2012 09:33

Hawthers How old is your DS? I think you should stop and start again when you have more energy feel better. Could it be possible, he is just not ready yet?

With Darcie I stayed in for a whole week and went cold turkey with her..however, she was more than ready and was fully trained by aged 2.

Rashkakeller · 20/05/2012 09:38

How old is he, Hawthers? My dd just turned 3 and is still struggling with poos. It might be that he simply isn't ready. Maybe try today but if no successes then leave it a couple of weeks then attempt again. Have you any potty stories? We used a couple with dd and helped to get the message across. Tis hard though, good luck x

Rashkakeller · 20/05/2012 09:40

Snap, DSM!

BJR · 20/05/2012 10:03

Just given DP a 5 minute warning that if he doesn't get up I'm sending both boys in the crawl on him untill he gets up :o Is that mean?

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 20/05/2012 10:33

BJR Depends on if you had a lay-in yesterday? Grin

LittleMissFlustered · 20/05/2012 10:33

The kids and I have got dressed and have turfed out to get a bus I town to acquire a shitty paper and the free Lego.

Who says I don't love my kids?

LittleMissFlustered · 20/05/2012 10:38

Hawthers if he isn't ready you can have as much cold turkey as you like and he'll just offer you cranberry sauce. Give it another couple of days and if it's not clicking leave it for another couple of months. There are no rules on when they have to be potty trained by, it took the boychild until he was almost four to get the hang of it, whereas the girlspawn had it sussed by two:)

BJR · 20/05/2012 10:43

I think my last lie in was sometime round December last year :o So I think sending the troops in this morning is justified!

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 20/05/2012 10:45

BJR Sounds totally justified - Let em loose Grin

hawthers · 20/05/2012 11:24

After 3 wees in the pants this morning we've had four on the potty. So definitely better. Will revaluate at the end of the day

LittleMissFlustered · 20/05/2012 11:40

Excellent tactics from both BJR and Hawthers

We're waiting for our bus home. Lego and veg procured. Sunday will return to normal scheduling as soon as I have my pyjamas back on:o

Hawthers every 20 mins or so just remind him about the potty. He'll get here hang of it eventually Smile

HoneyLovesCake · 20/05/2012 12:43

The Langstone Hotel dsm, just over the bridge, do you know it? Lovely area, the wedding was at St Peter's Church just up the road with the reception back at the hotel. Didn't realise you were so close.

BJR · 20/05/2012 12:45

Thanks for the heads up on the lego LMF, I shall be trudging to WHSmiths everyday this week! DSS very excited about next weekend now so he can build it all, i'm a sucker for free stuff!

hawthers · 20/05/2012 12:59

Seven wees! And a poo on the floor but still no accidents since 10 am. Not got any pants or trousers on so maybe that is different

msb hope your DD1 is okay now.

aethel enjoy the baptism, hope it goes ok.

I feel bloody awful today, my nose is streaming and throat is painful plus a chesty cough. DD is getting worse at night instead of better, despite three meals of solids yesterday she was up at 4, thankfully it was DH's turn. I feel bad complaining though when some people are still feeding every couple of hours every night.

On the reading front I love the Harry Potters and re-read them often too, and I always cry most of the way through the Deathly Hallows. I confess though I haven't really enjoyed any other books much since the Harry potters, they're just too good that nothing else comes close. I'm trying to read some of tells classics at the moment, currently on Mansfield Park, and I also have Little Women and Pride and Prejudice downloaded onto my kobo. I've never read any TP either.

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 20/05/2012 13:05

Honey That is where DP & I are getting married in August - The Spinnaker Suite, The Langstone Hotel :) What did you think of the place?

Hawthers DS is doing well.

Sky has really bad nappy rash (fecking teeth) what have you wise MNers done to make it better?
