Morning! Somewhat unexpectedly DS gave me 5 hours in a row. dH is correcting me that it's 5 and a half hours. I have to be accurate apparently. It's not quite made up for the last week of non-sleepage but he is perkier this morning.

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 16/05/2012 07:07

5.5hrs that's good, hoping it continues for you.

mopsytop · 16/05/2012 08:01

Morning all. Still feeling pants so Mr. Mopsy is taking a day parental leave so I can stay in bed.

Sorry too tired to name check but thanks for all well wishes.

AWomanCalledHorse · 16/05/2012 08:12

Sorelip, well done on sticking to your guns, sorry it's hard on you & DH. x

LMF, the best bet is some backstreet pharmacy who haven't changed their display in 20yrs...I managed to find some Gripe Water & ashton & parsons in one of the crappy ones around here, I'll look out for some anbesol for you.

MissRee, it does sound like they're trying to wiggle out of it!

Figgy! Surprised at the attitude of your m&b group. I don't know very many people (who have had kids in the last 5 yrs) with more than 1..and those that have more have stopped at 2.

mopsy hope you feel better soon! Yay for Mr.Mopsy! x

Fingers are crossed seven!

Have my mother coming over in a bit, she's staying over so DH (and I) get some time off baby-ing. Annoyingly DH is working lates this week so we're going out tomorrow morning (might pop into the cinema)!

GeeandTee · 16/05/2012 08:12

I had a horrendous night. Went to bed at 10.15 and fell asleep only to be woken by DD at...10.30. Settled and back to sleep until 3am which wasn't bad but didn't get any more sleep since then. Fed, couldn't get wind up so every time I put her down she grizzled. Got DH up to help wind and he eventually got it out but woke her in the process so took until 5.30 to get her back to sleep but she still writhed around and banged her legs against the cot all the time so I couldn't get back to sleep at all. Bleurgh. Have a full on day with both DCs today and can barely open my eyes :(

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 16/05/2012 08:21

Yay for MrMopsy

KateM77 · 16/05/2012 09:26

for MrMopsy and Brew for Gee

Bad evening yesterday with DC's tag-teaming me. I gave up early and was asleep by 10 expecting a bad night to follow. Imagine my surprise when everyone slept through until 6am Smile

Today DH is on his company day out. On the Orient Express up to Oxford, lunch at Le Manoir and then back on the Orient Express to London. It's alright for some! I will be cleaning bathrooms, hoovering and taking DS swimming (cue another half hour screamfest no doubt). I realised that in theory DH could have invited me as his guest for the day as we work in the same industry but that would mean DS would have to take a bottle, the little sod

OiMissus · 16/05/2012 09:29

Well done mrmopsy
Good luck with the auction seven!
BOi has developed a deep, empty kind of cough. It sounded bad last night, he didn't sleep well, he was very restless, and had to be sssh-ed a lot, but he seems fine this morning.
I'm working from my parents house today, BOi is downstairs... I just want to go and play! He is delighting them by showing off his rolls and poking his bum in the air to try to move. Tis very sweet.
I need to organise some child minding for an evening so that me and DH can have some time together. Enjoy it AWCH. We're not doing very well at the moment. It's my fault. He's done nothing wrong, but I keep being really short and snappy with him. It must be the tiredness / stress of being back at work (although I feel fine), I guess. It's not fair on him. We need to get intimate again. As soon as Ali is asleep at night, we both turn to our phones - catching up on FB, MN, sports,... We need some "quality time"! I need to fall back in love with him. - I haven't fallen out of love with him particularly. But I just don't feel it. It's as though Ali is here, and really that's all that matters. Which is a bit unfair!
If we had a nice house, where we could relax, where we could all get excited about the future, where we could unpack our boxes, and find our moisturising creams and nicer underwear, then maybe things would be better and the sun would always shine.

  • I know the house isn't the problem. We're just pissed off and feeling stuck in it. We just need some us time. :)
aethelfleda · 16/05/2012 09:47

Well done mrmopsy.....

MissRee · 16/05/2012 10:32

They're apparently away from home at the moment but are going to deliver next week... we shall see!

hawthers · 16/05/2012 10:38

Managed an 8-3 woop woop. DS1 was up though but that is DH's duty! Weigh in was good today. Hit the 9th centile and still heading upwards. Dietician is really happy with how he is getting on hurrah!

LittleMissFlustered · 16/05/2012 10:39

Oi The fact that you have identified that you don't hate each other and just need some time is good, it means there's a lot of scpe for falling back in love:)

MissRee I'd keep an eye on eBay and the local paper for it being relisted. I suspect they're just waiting for you to forget about/give up on it so they can get a better price for it. In the words of Weebl, wan'gers:o

Today I feel vile. So I have had the sandwich I never got around to yesterday, a lovely hot cup of tea and I have evicted two of the cats. I'm about to put curry in the sloooooow cooker (ultimate comfort food) and fill the washing machine. No rest for the plague-infested:)

Laters:)

BeeMyBaby · 16/05/2012 10:48

yay for the centile climbing hawthers!

sorelip Please do not back down for a second on this. From personal experience the adults hurt feelings really aren't worth it whatsoever.

DD2 cut her first tooth on Monday, so been having load of grizzling for the past few days.

Rashkakeller · 16/05/2012 11:41

Great news about Ds2 weight, Hawthers!!

MissRee keep at 'em!! They took the risk so they need to suck it up! and you know where they live

Oi what you and your dh are experiencing is perfectly natural. Babies are all encompassing and so dependent and so damn cute that it's so easy to let other relationships slide. You already know what you need to do and I'm sure you will relight the fire soon. If it's going to be a while until you get a babysitter sorted, why don't you both agree to step away from the tech stuff, snuggle on the couch and watch a movie? And you're right, not liking your surroundings much can't be helpful but it would be better to move into your dream family home/love nest with a harmonious marriage than move when you're all out of sorts! X

Good luck with swimming today, Kate

Aethel bless your dd1 and I think your explanation was very good! My dd (just 3) is a timid little thing at times (like me at that age but I have improved a bit!) so I think we're going to struggle to get her to learn how to do some activiities like cycling, swimming etc. Doesn't help that she's so small that all the 3+ stuff is miles too big! Re swimming, she used to be fine in the big pool, jumping in etc but last time we took her, she refused to leave the toddler pool :0S

Hope the sarnie helps, LMF

We are staying at home today, washing on the line, have sorted out dd's old clothes in the garage for donation/eBay, started to clean the fridge (including underneath...erk) and have a pile of ironing to do for starters but ds has stopped play for now...

OiMissus · 16/05/2012 12:25

The house was AMAZING! I am so happy that Springfield and The Woodlands fell through. I WANT THIS ONE! It is fabulous. I am in love. I went to see it with mum, and I've made an appointment to go back tonight to see it with DH. (Not that he gets a say!) The garden is fabulous.
It's a split level thing, so starting from the left out of the kitchen door (at the side of the house) there's an astro-turfed, gated play area with a wendy house boy's shed with windows, and a little table and bench. From there you go down past four large raised beds for veggies. Now you get to the back of the house. There's a decked patio area and a large lawn, with a slide, climbing house thing and swings, at the bottom of the garde, down some steps, there's a flat, long n thin astroturfed section where the previous occupants taught their kids how to ride bikes.
From the patio section, there are steps up to a raised patio area which is accessed from the main bedroom. This will be my breakfast area. :)
Up to the other side of the house is a gardened bit with pretty plants, leading to a seat/swing thing.
Also, from the lounge, there's a large balcony/patio area overlookingthis amazing south facing garden, which also overlooks a field with horses, a canal, train line and golf course.
The house is also very nice. It's big, light, nice - it's all magnolia again, and wooden floors throughout. There are no fireplaces, only radiators, so we can put our stamp on it over time.
It's slightly above our price range, but mum's told me I'll be getting a bit of money from Granddad, and if the vendors won't accept that, they can help out...(?) she fell in love with it too and is probably a bit excited.
I love it. I love it! It's in a great area too. And all the other houses on "The Glen" are posher (;)) and bigger.
I want it. I told the estate agent we'd be making an offer. ha ha! I'm not very good at poker faces. Grin

oi Dh and i are exactly the same and im struggling wirh the fact that dh works from home so we are in each others faces all the time. Next week i am going home to scotland without him hopefully absence will make the heart grow fonder as at the moment we are bickering a lot. I am impressed though it has taken 6 months to get like this.

Lo is constipated hes had 3 goes at a poo today all quite hard and small so no food for him today. Got 2 lots of porridge from local shop half price as they not stocking it any more, lucky me.

Been out for breakfast this am cant decide what to do this afternoon but lo woken from his very short nap so think some time in the car would be good for him.

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 16/05/2012 12:45

LMF Hoping you feel better soon.

Oi Pom poms for the house Grin

Well I've been puréeing stuff for Sky and she now has the following:
Potato & Leek
Sweet Potato & Swede
Apple & Parsnip
Apple & Pear
Pear
Swede, Parsnip, Pear & Plum
Pear & Blueberry
Apple & Blueberry
Parsnip & Blueberry
Peach

That should keep her going yes? Smile

aethelfleda · 16/05/2012 13:00

oi: house envy! Good luck, it sounds lovely.

dsm: puree envy!

rashka: cleaning envy! (I'm in denial)

Oops, better go, an enormous rumble is calling me to the changing mat!

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 16/05/2012 13:03

Aethel As my housework was done by 9am, I thought I'd purée some food so I don't have to do it again for a while.

I have a Little Lady Thunder Pants on the floor too Grin

Rashkakeller · 16/05/2012 13:03

Yes! :)

Rashkakeller · 16/05/2012 13:09

Sorry the 'yes' was for DSM lol

Ironing mostly done but ds woke from his nap and nearly completely wriggled off his swing so thought I'd better rescue him! Methinks he's getting a bit big for it!

Yayness for the house, Oi - when you have it in the bag, you'll have to post the details. I love playing "what would I do/buy if I won the lotto?"

Ok need lunch if ds allows...tomato soup isn't baby friendly

OiMissus · 16/05/2012 13:26

figgy good luck on the heart growing fonder up in Scotland.
I still firmly believe that Stu and I will get back on track, it is just the all-consuming new baby that's knocked us off the rails a bit. I hope you and mrfiggy will soon be all loved up again.
dsm how prepared?! Fab! I am curious about parsnip and blueberry. It sounds a bit bonkers, but I can imagine it'd be rather lovely.
Can't work. Too excited about the house. I hope I don't sound like an obnoxious git, about this. I'm not showing off. I'm just excited. I'd never have believed I would ever live in a house like this. I've lived in a 2 up 2 down terraced house for the past 15 years, I'm from a normal working class family. I was the first in my family to go to uni. But I now have a pretty good job and this house has been massively reduced in price. - Plus this house is ooop North, so you get more house for your pennies.
I hope I'm not coming across as insensitive. - And of course, you're all invited to come and stay and try out the slide!

Rashkakeller · 16/05/2012 13:54

You're entitled to be excited and there's nothing wrong with success - this is a sharing thread, is it not? Although I am insanely jealous of anyone with a downstairs loo

Rashkakeller · 16/05/2012 13:56

I'm eating my soup with a bap - I want two but they're 241 calories each. WTF??!!

As you were...
