Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
newmum001 · 18/10/2012 12:21

I can't believe she's 1 tomorrow. I remember thinking you were mad (in the nicest possible way) having 3 babies so close together but now they're toddlers and will be so close growing up im actually rather jealous that i haven't been brave enough to have another yet. Happy birthday to Eva for tomorrow!!!

sassy34264 · 18/10/2012 12:39

No, you were right the first time- i am mad!

But i'm glad i did it now. You're right, they are becoming more and more equal as time goes by, cos they are so close in age. I think i will end up treating them exactly the same, rather than eva is the baby. iyswim.

Do you want another?

newmum001 · 18/10/2012 12:46

I do want another. Its taken me this long to come round to the idea though. I think ill maybe have another in 2014 but i really really want to start working again first. I would also prefer it if i didnt have to be pregnant again though cause i had hyperemisis last time and hated every second of the whole 9 months. I just dont dont want grace to be an only child. I really do wish id been brave enough to have one sooner though.

sassy34264 · 18/10/2012 12:50

Is it a given that you will get hyperemisis again?
Dont know the statistics.

I'd think the opposite- might as well have a baby before i start back on the career ladder. rather than start and stop again iyswim. But you have a lot more years on me! Smile

newmum001 · 18/10/2012 12:57

I dont know. I dont know why people get it tbh. Something about hormone imbalance and baby taking all vitamins etc so basically leaving your body starved. Tbh i was never massively concearned with the reason why i just wanted the drugs to stop it. I suppose theres always a chance id get it again but im more aware of the signs now and itd be in my notes and i know what medication works for me.

Im aching to get back to work for my sanity. Ive loved having 2 years with grace but i need my own money and independance back. It's causing problems with me and dp cause i feel like a 50's housewife and it's just not me at all. I want to feel like i used to again.

sassy34264 · 18/10/2012 13:05
Sad

Hopefully you will get something soon.
Have you tried for the usual xmas jobs that come about- argos, debenhams etc?

PolkaDotMoonHasFangsYouKnow · 18/10/2012 15:19

We've been trying since December newmum so you could start now!! Grin

Happy Birthday Eva! That really has gone fast!

cinnamongreyhound · 18/10/2012 17:14

Happy Birthday Eva for tomorrow! Hope you all have a lovely day. Can't believe how quickly that year has gone :(

I don't think there is a perfect age gap it will depend on your children and how you deal with it too. If you want to wait then do my friend who is pregnant will have 6 years between her two, the same as dss and ds1 and they get on great at the moment!

PolkaDotMoonHasFangsYouKnow · 18/10/2012 20:47

Just thought I'd update on Jack as we were keen to work out the 'how tall you are when you're two and double it" thingy.
So Jack is:
193cms tall
27.7 lbs
6.5 shoes

There are different ways of working it out I think but the most popular seems to be to double it to get your adult height which would make Jack 6ft 4 Grin and totally gorgeous and charming and smart Smile Smile

PolkaDotMoonHasFangsYouKnow · 18/10/2012 20:54

No!!! That's wrong isn't it!? He'd be 6ft 1" ......... And still all the other things listed Grin

cinnamongreyhound · 18/10/2012 22:01

Last time Luke was measured he was 87cm but I'm waiting for his 2 year check to get an up to date measurement. He's 13.3Kg(29.3lb) and a 7.5 shoes

newmum001 · 18/10/2012 22:15

Grace is 3ft 2 now (measured yesterday)
30lbs (weighed today)
and 6.5 feet but will be re measured next week. Someone please tell me she's not going to be 6ft 4!!!

newmum001 · 18/10/2012 22:29

Im 5ft 7 and dp is 5ft 11 ish he claims to be 6ft but he isnt. My brother is 6ft 4 and built like a brick shit house though and no one knows where thats come from. Seriously how can she be so bloody tall!!!!

cinnamongreyhound · 18/10/2012 22:32

It is supposed to be roughly 2x height at 2 for full adult height but that didn't work for me!! Was supposed to be 5'10" by my two year old height but stopped growing at 13 at 5'5".

As far as I can work out 193cm is almost 76 inches which is 6'4" or was it 93cm doubled to 186cm? Ds1 was 93cm at his 2 year check Grin

PolkaDotMoonHasFangsYouKnow · 18/10/2012 23:17

God I need to learn to type numbers correctly! Just checked.... He's 93.5cms so doubled it's 186cms which is 6ft 1". Honestly.... i can see him being taller. Sounds about right for this family.... I have 3 cousins over 6ft 5"!!! Dh is 6ft 3" (I think) and I'm about 5ft 8/9" I honestly am not sure exactly how tall I am but I know my dis is half an inch taller yet my feet are bigger [grrrrrrrrrrrrrr]
newmum it is strange how family heights go isn't it!? Both my maternal grandparents were under 5ft 5" and dh's parents are not particularly tall.
Grace's works out at about 7ft 11" Wink and going by your height compared to her future height........... Well, I am 5" taller than my DM so you never know Grin

newmum001 · 19/10/2012 07:50

7ft 11 at least we can put her in the guiness book of records and maybe make some money off Discovery Channel documentarys haha!

newmum001 · 20/10/2012 12:20

Oooh i might have a job. My neighbour is a manager at new look and they're taking on xmas staff. My sister just saw her and she said shes got a job for me till xmas so its looking like i wont even have to interview for it. Its weekends which is perfect cause it means no childcare. Gonna go round in a bit when shes home from work to chat about it so fingers crossed!

sassy34264 · 20/10/2012 19:46

newmum good news. I hope it happens for you.

lumpypumpkinpie · 21/10/2012 20:09

sound of music Have a listen to the radio interview for my show! fast forward 1hour 26mins. I'm singing in the background!!!

cinnamongreyhound · 22/10/2012 21:38

So how did it go newmum001?

Think I will have to measure Luke in the last week sooooo many people have been saying how tall he is, maybe he's shot up. Also one lady at school today said, oh that's Luke? I didn't recognise him he's got so big. I think she has her hands full as she has 6 children and looks flustered every morning but I think something must have changed! Her kids are 8, 6, 5, 3, 15 months and 2 months, they are all such lovely kids and they are always so well presented and she's a lovely lady but she gets so much grief from people round here :(

How exciting lumpypumpkinpie!

newmum001 · 25/10/2012 12:32

I start at New Look next saturday. Im quite excited actually. Its only temporary but its money for christmas plus all the women in my family will be getting clothes as pressies cause i get 50% off!!!

sassy34264 · 25/10/2012 13:24

oh, so pleased for you. 50% off is a fab discount!!!! Envy

cinnamongreyhound · 26/10/2012 07:55

Congratulations newmum001!!

cinnamongreyhound · 28/10/2012 21:52

I have a poorly baby, he's got a high temp, cough and is almost losing his little voice :(. Dosing him up and hoping that will keep it at bay. I've got two days off this week so I'm hoping he's well enough to make the most of it.

Went to see Skyfall with dh today and it was fantastic!! Looking forward to dragging him to the last part of breaking dawn now Grin

Dixiebell · 30/10/2012 11:02

Hope Luke feeling better, cinnamon.
