Fliss - Aaron has been happier since the weather changed although he is still a crier. I'm glad it's the bank holiday weekend so I have support from DH.

Had a poo explosion at 6am that was nearly not contained in the nappy but does not sound as impressive as your LO's Holly.

Hope everyone is well and enjoys the weekend Grin

spannermary · 02/06/2012 11:00

Back in my jeans! Grin

Small confession...was 6 weeks pregnant when I bought them as nothing fitted anymore, but didn't know I was PG, so I reckon it counts as pre-pregnancy. Don't you? Blush

Still it means I have 3 more pairs of trousers to wear! It also means they're practically unworn. Surprised they fit, as I've lost maybe 1lb since I last tried them on. Clearly I'm still changing shape, rather than getting lighter.

Still, it will make my life a LOT easier having more clothes, and it's great motivation.

Have a great weekend all.

kat1885 · 02/06/2012 11:09

OMG how are all you ladies in your pre-pregnancy clothes? I am still approx 3 clothes sizes too big. Suppose it's because I'm not BF Envy.

I was going to diet but have been told by many people not to as I'm so stressed atm anyway it's not going to help but I do look gross.

Cutelittlecatlover · 02/06/2012 11:55

I still have loads of weight to lose too Kat, 2st last time I checked! I'm not very tall and quite small framed so I just have massive rolls of fat that are impossible to hide Blush . Dd is bf but has dropped from the 50th to the 25th line so the hv has warned me not to diet to make sure there are plenty of calories in my milk. I'm not snacking at all and I'm walking everywhere but the weights not coming off. I've been doing the 30 day shred when I get the chance but with a toddler and 6 week old thats not very often. I sound so shallow but my weights really getting me down Sad

spannermary · 02/06/2012 12:06

Sorry to hear that, cutie. Don't be jealous of me - my tummy is VERY squidgy.

BTW "ma'amsnet"? FFS...

justhayley · 02/06/2012 12:34

Hiya I got my pre pregnancy skinny jeans on pretty quickly after birth however I still have a rather unattractive overhang that I want gone. My aim is to actually be a stone under my pre preg weight by august. 7 months before I got pregnant I broke my knee and was on crutches & in a cast & brace for 8 months during which time I put on a stone. I weighed myself 2 weeks ago and was 6lbs off pre preg weight - not sure if that's changed at all since. Shape wise my tummy has gone done totally but the flab is hanging about as muffin tops and on my thighs.
I'm aiming to look as great as possible for August as it's my DPs officer commissioning ball at Sandhurst and I don't want to wear 4 pairs of spanks under my dress lol.
Food wise iv been pretty good ignoring the fact I had 2 bakewell tarts for breakfast iv been walking lots and have done a few workouts at Curves which is a company I run (it's a 30 minute workout). it's fantatic for weight & a franchise so if anyone has one near them I would highly recommend joining, & if ur in north London join my one and I'll sort out mumsnet discounts for you :)

Question: has anyone or is anyone not giving your little one immunisations?
I come from a family who believe in no medication and natural health. Iv never had any injections and am not sure how I feel about giving something to my DS that I wouldn't put in my own body. I also am not sure how I feel about him not having them am feeling really torn!

Bunsouttheoven · 02/06/2012 12:53

I'm def not in my pre preg clothes & I am bf. I always find my body hangs onto a bit of pg fat until baby starts to eat other food at 6 months (might just be coincidence?). Anyway, dieting does not lessen the calories in your milk but it can make you feel more tired as bf is supposed to use about 500 calories a day.

Also re the centile dropping, babies often move off the centile line they were born on (up or down). It is rarely an indicator that there is a problem, more just them finding their own line of growth. Both my Dcs dropped from 90+ centiles to 20ish. Both healthy, bf until 2.5 yrs, solids introduced at 6 months.

SarryB · 02/06/2012 14:00

hayley - I'll be giving my LO immunisations. No question about it in my mind. I had them, all my siblings had them.

Cutelittlecatlover · 02/06/2012 15:26

Thats what I thought buns, dd is the picture of health according to the gp so I'm not too concerned atm but ds started out on the 9th line and quickly shot up to the 98th and he was ebf too so this is all new to me! I am going to watch what I eat without going too crazy over calorie counting because I hate being this size, it doesn't suit me at all!

I'm a bit Confused today because I think I just started my period. Dd is only 6 weeks and I stopped bleeding 2 weeks ago so don't think its lochia. Ds was 8 months before my periods came back so this is quite strange! Has anyone else had this?

Justhayley dd will be having her jabs as having researched I've decided I'd much prefer her to have the side effects from the jabs than complications from the illnesses iyswim?

kat1885 · 02/06/2012 15:32

Aaron will be having his jabs too and ds1 also had them. All my weight is around my middle (hips and belly) so I'm having to wear maternity clothes still. I'm not short at 5 foot 7 and a size 14 does up but where everything is so loose it emphasises the rolls so wearing my size 10 maternity clothes. Hope to be at least in a 12 with no overhang for Aarons christening which we are hoping to have in September.

Flisspaps · 02/06/2012 19:06

Cute from having read the BF/FF boards, my understanding is that what you eat has no (or minimal) impact on your milk - which is why starving women are still able to BF. Dieting (or cutting down on unhealthy food) won't make your milk less calorific!

Flisspaps · 02/06/2012 19:08

I see buns beat me to it on the milk/dieting thing - does go to show though, don't take everything the HVs say at face value Wink

Cutelittlecatlover · 02/06/2012 22:01

Thanks Fliss, I thought she was talking bollocks but she's lovely so I'll let her off (and ignore her shit advice)

I'm really confused about this bleeding, its almost stopped now but since lunchtime today I've been bleeding just like a period. I'm not on any contraception and lochia stopped 2 weeks ago Confused not sure if its something to be worried about.

HollyPockett · 03/06/2012 00:24

vintage two feet :) mixed in with a wee too!

Jellybellyrbest · 03/06/2012 05:42

Kat; I am EBF & have 1stone still to lose. Breast feeding does not shift the weight for me! And if you do feel stressed then it's absolutely not the right time to diet. The weight will come off eventually...and if you do have to diet in a while, at least you'll be lees stressed, less tired & able to get out & exercise which will help. Our mbira are so young still. I'd love to be bck in my PP clothes & I do feel horrible & I am trying to exercise, but I'm avoiding dieting. It's too hard just now & I know it'll happen eventually anyway. Mother Nature has a plan for each of us & for some of us it just won't happen yet! Bit fear not you're sooooo not alone!
Well done Sarry, though. I do envy you wearing those jeans....

Jellybellyrbest · 03/06/2012 05:43

Our babies are so young....not mbira (?!)

SarryB · 03/06/2012 07:50

Of course, I forgot to mention, although I can get the skinny jeans on...I can't move. I can just stand there and look pretty. Which is very helpful.

My mum said she never lost any baby weight until she began weaning.

digitalgirl · 03/06/2012 09:39

Those not bothering to diet you will probably lose weight anyway. Last time I gradually lost the weight till I was back in pp clothes by 6 months (no dieting and the only exercise was pounding the streets with the buggy), then carried on losing weight till I gave up bf when ds1 was 15 months. Then I put some back on again! Till I started exercising.

Have been starting bedtime earlier (about 7pm) as ds2 gets cranky if I try waiting later to give him his bath. But he just continues to cluster feed and not properly fall asleep till 9pm anyway. Ds2 is 8 weeks tomorrow which is when I finally cracked with ds1 and bought a co-sleeping cot because my back couldn't take lying in a feeding position all night. Can't believe ds2 has been sleeping in the cot, that ds1 hated, for the last 3 weeks.

Jellybellyrbest · 03/06/2012 10:27

Ps. I'm avoiding dieting for all the wrong reasons!! ;-)
I just figure that with all the sleep deprivation & hard work looking after DH & 2 older DC & baby, I just can't deny myself treats!

Cute: am doing the Shred too! Have missed day 4 though & will struggle to do it today (day 5). BUT; my self esteem is improving with exercising. So even if nothings shifting weight wise, I figure I'll get stronger mentally, emotionally & physically. AND when The weight finally melts away, whats underneath will be toned & firm(er)!
I've often thought that about starving women BF....if they can do it, then surely even a restricted calorie intake in the Western world wouldn't affect most women's milk supply. Guess there's always an exception to the rule though. And I agree with s'one of the rest of you about shape; my weight is unusually around my middle to my thighs. Am normally pear shaped & so not only do my normal clothes not fit, the usual style I wear looks awful....

HenriettaChicken · 03/06/2012 12:56

Hello everyone -Spannermary here. I've decided on a name change and am now HenriettaChicken!

You've got to mix it up a bit, eh...

Hope you all had a good night last night. DH and I stayed up late (well, till 11.45pm!) watching a film, and then I gave Bill a feed. Did the trick as he then slept through till 6.30am, and then 9.45am. What a star...

So feeling quite awake today - which is good as I had a mammoth back-covering nappy to change this morning! Good to see he's all in working order Wink

He's been in such a lovely mood this morning - I can't get enough of the smiles, eye contact, cooing and giggles that this stage of his development is bringing. He's changing so fast!

He's now hiccuping on his playmat whilst DH makes Sunday dinner. Then it's off to our friends' house. Their son is 4 months older than Bill, which means we get to take loads of stuff off their hands as he outgrows it. Apparently there's an indoor swing he may just love...

newmummyvicky · 03/06/2012 15:55

hi im back in my skinny jeans today, i think ive lost a couple of pounds over these last weeks! I still half a stone left to go, to before i was pregnant. Im at 12 stone so i was 11.6 when i fell.

Lyra is still crying with wind, when feeding. She seems to have 5-10 mins then get wind or a stress on? for some reason!
Ive tried to work out what the crying is. Does anyone elses baby cry when they are full up or want to stop??????
I cant always bring the wind up, but she does burp on her own, and she stops when to sing and calm her down. Sometimes she crys when i offer her the nipple again!
Really strange?

She is loving tummy time or her front, and she to walk when you hold her under her arms, her little legs look like they are walking. LOL
Also she like to flick her dummy out now, with her fingers- little madame, love her. I have to sometime put a blanket lightly over her to hold it in, it seems to keep her happy. :0

HollyPockett · 03/06/2012 21:47

henrietta I thought I had it good with Francesca sleeping from 12-4.30! Jealous of your six hour kip! We've had a mental couple of days but she's taken it all in her stride. She sleeps through the noisiest family parties!

She's still doing the grunting and fidgeting When i put her on her back to sleep so I've tried putting her on er side and when she's fast asleep I put her on her back.. It working so far.

I've just fed her and am shattered so going to get some sleep in before she wakes at 2am :)

Pitmountainpony · 04/06/2012 04:38

Newmum

My dd cries every night between 5 and 8 ...not the whole time but at least half an hour.
Apparently it is known as the witching hour.....many babies do it and it is for brain development.......so nothing to worry about just distressing when they do it.

HenriettaChicken · 04/06/2012 06:08

Pitmountain, DS tends to have a bit of a cry between 6&9pm too. Exactly as you've said - not the whole tone but pretty consistently. I tend to cluster feed a bit in the evening, which helps somewhat but doesn't stop it altogether.

HenriettaChicken · 04/06/2012 06:08

Not the whole time. It's early...
