Fliss; I know!!! Your DS was soo big at birth, am in awe! Even told DH about him. My last LO was a 6lber, so guess by comparison this LO will always seem so much bigger! She's into 3-6mth clothes already & is v strong. Really really wish she'd go longer between feeds though...2hrly is really taking it's toll now & I am beginning to feel claustrophobic. Have started 30 day shred (Bridesmaid fitting is looming) & I can't even do a 20 min workout uninterrupted. :-(
Fliss: which pill did you get? I hate taking it, but have a prescription for Cerazette. Haven't got them yet. The thought of DD feeding MORE frequently to replenish supply does not appeal!
Holly: F&F yummy & was so lovely to eat in peace. Had the usual 20-30 min break though & DD woke up so had to dash upstairs without finishing my cup of tea....am hungry now again though. How will I ever lose weight (despair emoticon...)

Flisspaps · 01/06/2012 09:37

Jellybelly I need to Shred again - had done 10 days when I got the BFP and was seeing results Hmm I think Reality was told that it's not suitable until nearer 6m pp though due to the intensity Sad It's not as if I can put DS down for 1/2 hr to do it anyway!

I've been given Micronor, never heard of it before. Same active ingredient as Cerazette though (Norethisterone).

Holly our Jubilee plans involve attempting to avoid anything to do with the Jubilee.

Flisspaps · 01/06/2012 09:38

Jelly btw get a travel mug Wink

Jellybellyrbest · 01/06/2012 09:57

Fliss, were you dieting as well as shredding? Am kind of hoping shredding & BF alone will do it. Am walking to school when I can (tough uphill walk home) & using exercise bike when I can. I hate dieting.

Am a fusspot re my tea/coffee cup. I tease my dad but about his china teacup habit but am a closet mug fan. Cant drink out of a travel mug: it just doesn't taste the same! ;-)

Flisspaps · 01/06/2012 10:04

Jelly I was food logging on My Fitness Pal but not dieting, just trying to get back on track with healthy eating and portion sizes - I have no self control when it comes to food!

Doing nothing ATM. However, at the dentist this week I discovered I need 7 fillings Blush Shock (my teeth are knackered, always have been) I am going to be cutting back on the cakes, biscuits and pop. Didn't help that I was craving gallons of full sugar Coke with DS, and I won't drink diet fizzy drinks because they're horrible. Even if I have more filling than tooth the drop in sugary crap should help the weight loss anyway. Have lost another 2lb this week which I am putting down to BF.

spannermary · 01/06/2012 10:45

Morning! So, felt a bit dodgy last night & threw up...went to bed at 9, fed babe and slept. He slept till 3.15 & then 6.45 and I felt much better. Think it was just tiredness.

I'm on day 2 of cerazette too - it's what I was on before and suits me. No mention of lessening supply (although this would be no bad thing)

Fliss my jubilee plans are the same as yours...but then we are republican in our house!

Btw...what the hell is shredding? Sounds intriguing!

HollyPockett · 01/06/2012 11:19

I can't wait for the jubilee! I'm a bit of a history nut though. I love all the pomp and ceremony! waves union jack madly

My appetite is well and truly back, I'm -hoovering-- eating food like the clappers. I'm doing loads of walking with the pram and have planned next weeks dinners making sure that they're healthy. My main problem is portion control. Basically, I'm a greedy guts!!

kat1885 · 01/06/2012 11:37

I just went through Aaron's clothes and cleared out the newborn stuff. He's 9lb 13 now (at 4 weeks) so has outgrown most of it.

I can't wait to see what length he is as there is not a single roll of baby chub on him and his newborn clothes are still to big around him but don't fit lenthways, 0-3 are going to be HUGE!

Flisspaps · 01/06/2012 12:26

spanner the 30 day shred is a workout DVD by Jillian Michaels from The Biggest Loser US.

There are 3 20 min workouts on there - you do 1 for 10 days, 2 for 10 days etc. it's bloody hard work, but even I could manage it (I don't do exercise. Walking to the shop is as much as I do) and was seeing noticeable results after 10 days. It works on measurements not weight. Costs about a fiver on Amazon.

Jellybellyrbest · 01/06/2012 13:09

Spanner: The 30 Day Shred is a workout DVD which has 3 20min workouts with 3 levels of difficulty. I read about it on Mumsnet & ordered it from Amazon thinking the concept would be ideal for a busy new mum! It's supposed to give great results because of the mix & intensity of strength & cardio...we shall see!!
Poor you having a tummy bug. Hope you're feeling better...
I'm feeding AGAIN with a lump in my throat feeling v fed up. Not sure why....I've had many bad nights before & not felt like this. 7 weeks in though was really hoping for longer sleeps & bigger gaps between feeds I guess...
Have a busy w'end but not at all related to Jubilee...work get together, sisters Hen & BBQ picnic with friends on Sunday.

Jellybellyrbest · 01/06/2012 13:12

Oops! Started that message ages ago & didn't realise Fliss had already replied! You're well informed now Spanner!

spannermary · 01/06/2012 14:46

Very well informed! ...and quite terrified! I've now looked at it on Amazon and may give it a go this Autumn if my walking/sensible eating/Davina combo hasn't worked.

Tummy much better this morning - I think I may have been overtired.

Bll's having a nap now, and I'm resting in front of Tuesday's CSI. Aah...

BTW - Buns, did you meet up with that mean old SIL of yours? How'd it go?

VintageNancy · 01/06/2012 15:41

Morning. Relatively bad night for us as Emily wouldn't sleep until midnight and up at 5.30. I know that's loads for some of you but she usually goes down at 10.30/11. That hour makes a difference! Plus she usually goes back to sleep for a couple of hours in the morning but not today. I'm wondering if it's growth spurt.

Jelly I'm loving the smiles too :). We're 8 hours behind UK so it's 7.40am now.

I have heard good things about the shred but might stick to walking and yoga for now.

Bunsouttheoven · 01/06/2012 17:50

Well remembered spanner. No not seen her yet, bit of a stand off really. However, we are going to a family BBQ this tues & she will be there. I am dreading it, though I imagine she will just pretend nothing has happened. Mind you I am glad the ice will have been broken before a family wedding on 16 June. My dp will be there but will be going early & is taking their photos throughout so I think I will be going it alone for much of the day. Also dreading the fact that dp's family view the fact that I bf my children past about a week as being rather lefty & odd. Mostly they are polite but dp's du (?) is rude, asked me 'fgs, have you never heard of cow & gate' blah blah blah... I haven't the energy to be politely forthright in my rebuttal of his comments & fear fatigue of looking after my 3 kids will result in me being rude.

HollyPockett · 01/06/2012 18:29

buns sleep deprivation or not, with a comment like that, rude would be my default position.

marshmallowpies · 01/06/2012 19:33

I'm spending 2 nights with PIL as there is a big jubilee party in their village...so DD gets to meet their entire village & will get passed around from next door neighbour to friend to aunt & uncle, etc. Not too fussed about the royals (I'm mildly republican but not too fussed either way) but anyway DD will be the star attraction where we're going. Grin

Just thinking about all the stuff we need to pack for 2 nights is making me go Confused but looking forward to a change of scene for a few days.

Everything going OK here except my poor nipples...it's not so much that they hurt when I'm feeding or expressing, but they feel so sore afterwards! It's not like they bleed or get blisters, either, they just feel so bad. It is getting to the point where it is on my mind most of the time...grrr!

I'm not weighing myself at the moment, can't even remember what my weight was at my checking in appt. I have signed up to do a 5k buggy push for Bliss, though, so exercise definitely is on the list even if dieting isn't yet.

Hope everyone has a good weekend, whatever you're up to!

spannermary · 01/06/2012 19:47

Wow - a buggy push sounds like a great idea, marshmallow!

...good luck for Tuesday, buns.

LaTristesse · 01/06/2012 20:00

Please be rude from me Buns, he sounds like a wanker.

OP posts:
newmummyvicky · 01/06/2012 21:16

marshmallow I still have bad nipples from day to day, they have been much better lately. When i feel a little pain when feeding, i take her off and move her! seem to help, getting the right latch on, and im i still apply my lansinol nipple cream in the purple tube. It heals the nipple while they are wet! I also find i need to only change my breast pads regularly too. The best ones ive tried are the BOOTS on brand. Ive tried them all now!
Everyone is doing sooooo good with there exicise and dieting, i havent started yet, but saying NO to chocolate. :)

Lyra at 8 weeks is now weights 10.5lb, 6.5 at birth. She is getting cubby on her cheeks and her little legs, ive put away the newborn clothes :( But saving for my next one hehe! She is in 0-3 size, but some of the stuff is still to big? she is still quite petite.....

I visited the docs this week about my bloody poo, and he said its not piles but a anal tear, the joys to labour lol. It will heal with time and lots of soft poo!
sorry for the talk!
We have been booked in Lyra's injections on the 8th of june! lots of friends have told me to give her calpol before for the pain! has anyone does this before?

Last night little one was up every 3-4 hours feeding, i was in shock at 130am! Normally she goes from 10am -5ish or at least 330am. Must be been a growth spurt? also she was up a whole 2 hours from 445 -645 eeek, when back to sleep then till 10am, thank god!

Im not doing much this wk end hubby is working, i do have a little party in my parents village, so will that on saturday afternoon!

HollyPockett · 02/06/2012 03:57

Nothing quite like a wet projectile poo at 4am to wake you up. Hmm

VintageNancy · 02/06/2012 04:25

Oh joy Holly - how far did she shoot it??

Pitmountainpony · 02/06/2012 05:31

Well we had our 8 week check up and shots......and Bo has gone from 25 th to 75 th percentile at 11.11. My mum kept telling me I was feeding her too often.....it should only be every 4 hours according to her nurse training in the 1950's. Anyway the doc reassured me I should feed on demand. Things change over time I guess with regard to babies.
I am loving the co sleeper cot someone gave us.....she is next to me but separate....I am getting better sleep...we do slept in the bed with our son which was great but the sleep got bad aft one year as he woke up all the time to feed as he could smell the milk. So trying a bit more cot time t his time to avoid that sleep deprivation....even though I love co sleeping. You have to survive. No more day naps now I have two which meant I could lose sleep at night time last time round.

I need to get the weight off too.....but I don,t look at myself long enough to be bothered until I see photos.then I see the extra 35 pounds that I need to shift. By Xmas is the target.

Flisspaps · 02/06/2012 08:41

newmummyvicky I gave DD calpol 1/2hr before her 12 and 16w jabs, but not 8w. I think the nurse said I could give some after but she didn't need it.

Flisspaps · 02/06/2012 10:17

Pitmountain Yes, the 4 hourly advice has long been abandoned for feeding on demand (unless you're following the routine of SWMNBN!) so keep at it (how anyone managed to get a supply going and successfully BF in a 4hrly routine is beyond me, although I suppose the 4hrly idea came about at the same time as early formula which is easier to set a routine with!)

Nothing new to report here really. DH is with us for the week as it's half term, DS is a total boob monster and seems to spend most of his day eating, but is crap at napping generally unless he has his face against my boob pinning me to the sofa. He says the Sling Will Not Do Hmm so I am effectively stuck for most of the time - shame Wink DD is her usual bonkers self, she seems to have taken to DS rather well and he's starting to watch her intently - oh joy - so he can learn what not to do. And my life, the girl can yap - 12 hours constant chatter. Still, better than no conversation?

This weather's far more suitable for the two of them and DH - I foresee a lifetime of damp camping holidays...

SarryB · 02/06/2012 10:21

I'm so close to being in my pre-pregnancy clothes - it's really frustrating!! I think just another inch, and I'll be back into my skinny jeans :) I don't weigh myself...I measure instead, and go by what clothes fit me.

I'm going to do a bit of a wardrobe purge, and buy some lovely new clothes.

I'm pretty certain that I'm going to give up BF - but I keep swinging madly between wanting to give up and feeling guilty.
