babyonboard · 01/03/2006 17:03

hey bob2 .. i agree..you have to bite the bullet and get out there..there will be plenty of other mums in the same position..good luck!

feeling very slobby and hven't done any housework today..took oskar for a long walk in the park to take advantage of the lovely sunshine, (and fell in love with the most amazing 'dulux' style dog..)
and have spent a couple of hours reading magazines and browsing online..

i blame DP for sending me an email this morning inculding the following ''hope you don't yet again overlook the mounting pile of laundry. The grill could do with scrub too''

grrrrrrrrr

as if I'm going to do anything at all around the house after that..I feel like taking out the stack of shirts I ironed for him last night and using them as a comfy cushion whilst i m'net....heehhee

novadandypowder · 01/03/2006 17:07

haha Candiemom, I also do munchington of munchville, and all the other varitions Grin

Well, cleaner is off sick this week so I've had to do it (I know - it's a hard life!), and I've realised she's really lazy!!!!!!! Now I'm not too afraid to admit that I do leave bits of fluff in certain places to see if she cleans them and she doesn't!!!! There will be words had on monday....

The childminder has been out with Natalie for hours, getting a bit annoyed that she's still out as I wanted her back by now Angry.

Diege · 01/03/2006 17:11

He was joking I hope BOB!!! (otherwise I would defo spoil the shirts!!Grin). Well, just been informed by dd2 that they have to go dressed as book character for national book day tommorrow Shock. There was a letter apparently, some time ago Blush. Will have to be either a princess or a dalmation I think, regardless of book!
Gearing up for mad hour here, with thought of curling up with OK mag and 'Jordan's new look' to look forward to when they're all in bed(I know, I know...Grin).
Speak later,
Diege Smile.

Diege · 01/03/2006 17:14

babyonboard · 01/03/2006 17:17

sadly diege it was deadly serious...coupled with two minutes after putting down my fork at last nights dinner (made by me) him saying 'maybe you should get the washing up over with now..'

my bum is getting a bit dumb with this hard chair..hmmm...

re - costumes....nightmare! my lil sis did the same to my mum..they had to go in 1940's dress and my mum forgot and sis didn't mention til the very morning..lol..

nova - aw..
''i want my baby back, baby back'' ...teehee..sorry in a silly mood!
good though for nat to spend more time with her in preperation for when you leave her overnight?

babyonboard · 01/03/2006 17:20

lol...dumb bum...could be..but meant to say numb...

Diege · 01/03/2006 17:22

ooh NOVA, make the most of it I say!

babyonboard · 01/03/2006 17:23

and to share more 'mummy silliness'..
nother favourite 'song' to any tune i see fit..
goes along the lines of..
'who's a tot, you're a tot, who's a tot, oskars a tot who's a tot, you're a tot, mummy is not a tot..''

babyonboard · 01/03/2006 17:24

god..getting too silly now...maybe I should just go do that laundry...

Diege · 01/03/2006 17:25

Hmmm, I would be having serious words with DH if I were you, though I sense you are not too pleased with the situation. Definite training needed, and failing that send him up here for a week and I'll sort him out! Grin!

babyonboard · 01/03/2006 17:36

oh diege..but it's actually so fair..after all I get to nap during the day (!?) and do what i like while he has to slog it at work...
lol..lol..and lol some more...

Diege · 01/03/2006 17:43

deep breath (blood pressure rising...). As we all know, working outside the home is sooo much easier. Lunch breaks, adult conversation, breaks, skiving off time (err, a bit like this), oh and of course fixed hours and the dosh!! Why do you think I'm going back to work!! I suggest he takes over at the weekend for a day (or even a morning?). Argument would be well and truly over!

Londoner · 01/03/2006 17:45

BoB - is it your b.day tomorrow?

Candiemom · 01/03/2006 18:03

gals I hate to get greedy but I need your good vibes -- my pediatrician has just told me I need to try the Nutramigen again for at least a week to help with the reflux. I tried on the weekend to much screeching and rushed back to the staydown. Please be prepared for me to a) be on here not making any sense and b) be begging for tips on stopping crying. First feed now. Wish me luck!!

bob2110 · 01/03/2006 18:11

Good luck Candiemom, - thankfully haven't had to deal with reflux but had awful crying from colic in the early weeks and just thinking back about it makes me feel for you.

babyonboard · 01/03/2006 18:20

lol lol lol diege...

candi...ask tex/golden for tips..know they (and othres?) are probably pros now in managing reflux..

londoner..no b'day is next wednesdy..first one i'll spend 'lone' ( discounting my beuautiful baby of cours)
remembering now having an inkling something might be cooking this time last year- sore boobs..sickness and all..heehee... (and hence out clubbing with friends on b'day and making excuses for not drinking/pretending to be by buying tonic, minus the 'g' at the bar..lol....

novadandypowder · 01/03/2006 18:33

she got back at 6 - only half an hour before bedtime routine starts..hmmm...must confess to a little bit of mummy jealousy that Natalie seems to be so well behaved for her. She normally hates being in her buggy/out and about/on a bus for so long.

Diege - I would make the most of it, but we pay her by the hour! I was ready to take her back by 4.30...

goldenoldie · 01/03/2006 19:14

Candi - hope the feeding is going OK. Sorry, don't have any tips, the only thing that worked for us was the medication.

Nova - can I be nosy and ask what hourly rate you pay your nanny? Mine only gets £8ph for twins, and my goodness, she earns her money. She has been nannying for nearly 20 years and recons my twins are the hardest job she has had!

Funny, cause I don't think they are any trouble at all, but then, unlike her, I don't rush to pick them up at every winge.

Diege · 01/03/2006 19:14

Oh dear Nova Shock, but it's such a relief for you to know that Nat and the minder get on so well? Know what you mean though - you worry if they don't 'bond',and worry when they do! Grin.
BOB: you make me all nostalgic talking about this time last year..doesn;t seem a year. Can't bear to look due in Nov 06..too sad, which is mad I know!
Diege Smile.

beartime · 01/03/2006 19:35

LOL at the sleeping thru crying thing - my DH wears earplugs Grin

yorkshirepuddling · 01/03/2006 19:54

Hi all

BoB i live in Beighton, near Crystal Peaks if you know the area.

A meet-up in Meadowhall would be good, its only 10 minutes drive from me and I work round the corner when I go back.

BoB I understand your problem with your DP, does anyone elses partner come home and the first thing they ask if, "So what have you done all day then?" as if you haven't got off your bum all day, just as you hand them their tea, that you have shopped for and made, whilst they sit in the living room that you have cleaned. Of course some days I have just been on mumsnet all day.

Candi the only thing that worked with us for the reflux was gaviscon in the bottles, a swing which she goes in every night and baby massage, really calms her down. We sit her bolt upright to drink her bottles and then sit her there for about 1/2 hour afterwards to let the milk settle. We also gave her a dummy on the advice of our hv, much against our judgement, but that has been fantastic, it really calms her down. I don't know if you are already doing any of these but good luck with this, I know how hard it is to perserve when they look so uncomfortable.

JenJam · 01/03/2006 20:16

this is fun!

Just remembered the latest nickname which was started by grandpa - fattypuff.

diege finn is also somtimes finnster

tee hee

another question for you - warning - the market researcher in me is dying to do a poll....

how long does your baby have with nappy off during the day. i leave it off for about 5-10 mins once or twice a day - and was wondering is this enough do you think

and second question...

would you leave your baby with the creche at a new gym or would you not feel comfortable with leaving a four month old with a trained stranger
