Oh god just got a massive urge for a big mac and fries

mopsytop · 21/03/2012 05:11

Morning! Minimopsy went from 18:30-04:50. Amazing. Although I did have to shove her soother in a few times since 01:00. Now to get her to go from 22:00-08:00 ... Anytime i feed her at 23:00, she just wakes up between 04:00 and 05:00 anyway and basically just has an extra feed ... But might try waking her at ten pm-ish and see if it still happens as she clearly has the capacity to go through.

MissRee, yes same username!

Air, minimopsy somewhere between 9th and 25th centile since birth, in the middle somewhere. Not worried at all, she's just not a big baby.

Oi Envy of the space!!! Congrats!

seven77 · 21/03/2012 06:15

Hurrah!

scoobyd00 · 21/03/2012 06:39

Been up since 0530. DS2 woke 3 times to feed. Crying woke DS1 every time. Won't be able to keep this up for 3 months. So jealous of those with babies sleeping more than 3 hrs at a time.
Poo-splosion, up the back jobby. Will catch up later.

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 21/03/2012 07:28

Morning,

I feel bleurgh Sad cold. tight & rattly chest.
Not a good nights sleep because of the above. Sky slept from 7:30 to 3:30, 4am to 6:30am

rice33 · 21/03/2012 07:29

oi we've recently done some work to our house , an attic conversion that meant we needed to use the main bathroom space as a landing and turn a bedroom into a new bathroom . It's fab now but I did have to spend the first six weeks with baby living in my parents house as attic took way longer than planned. Anyway finally getting round to the point , we tiled the bathroom halfway up the walls and needed a paint colour , I tried every variation and brand of cream but magnolia was by far the nicest :)

Anyone else have a baby who wakes themselves up during the night with farting?? I swear she would sleep through if it wasn't for the farts !!!!

msbuggywinkle · 21/03/2012 08:33

Morning! Feeling good this morning despite crap sleep. DD2 this time for a change, she woke up wanting water and my iPad! Grin

rice it always amazes me how loud baby farts are! Miri wakes me up, but not herself, which is kind of her.

I have fun jobs to do today, trying to decide where to go over Easter weekend. I'm thinking either camping on the Isle of Mann (we have a stove for our tent, so won't freeze!) or booking a hotel in Manchester and doing Legoland and the Science museum. I'm going to cost both up, talk to the DDs then decide. DP thinks we should do both.

Also, it is my birthday on Saturday and I accidentally found out what DP has bought for me last night. A fire pit! I am so very excited! I wondered why he was so insistent on getting venison burgers at the market, I guess I am having a fire and yummy burgers! Although, do I have to admit to being in my late twenties now?

oi brilliant! The house is lovely and massive! I love decorating, we still have a bit to do here but I can't decide on paper for the hall.

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 21/03/2012 09:10

Will def have a chill out day today - can't stop bloody sneezing and my chest sounds rattly :(

Sky is fast asleep in her cot in the lounge. So cuppa T and egg on toast for me :)

Rice Sky farts an awful lot to - always seems so proud of it too lol.

AnAirOfHope · 21/03/2012 09:58

I love holiday talk Grin

We are looking at option 1) a week camping in the new forest with trip to peppa pig world, Monkey world and hourse riding or option 2) Weekend at draken manor hotel and theme park with Thomas land and themed breakfast or 3) another week at Bridlington with my Inlaws.

We are staying here for Easter as i'm takeing Aaron to Clumber park/sherwood forest for an easter egg hunt Grin. I have been waiting 3 years for him to be ready to go on the easter hunt, i cant wait its going to be so much fun Grin

IO - its a lovly house and i'm sure you will make it just how you want it and that you and your family will be very happy there Smile

Im skint from the rest of the month now as i have bought Hope 3-6 month clothes and spent £428 Blush DH totaled it all up last night and told me "he was disappointed in me"! i have got clothes from jojo mama bebe, marks, pumpkin patch, mothercare and asda. I still need to get Aarons clothes for the summer as well Confused. I also got bibs from the funky giraffi - so i blamed you lot Grin Wink

AnAirOfHope · 21/03/2012 09:59

DSM - Hope your feeling better soon

NorthernChinchilla · 21/03/2012 10:05

Well, I've just about stopped feeling jealous of Oi's new pad. Love a bit of property porn too, but I perhaps shouldn't do it when I've just worked out our finances- we'll be fine, as long as we don't have a social life til he goes to school Confused.
Seriously Oi, it's brilliant, and two-veranda type thingies as well (which may need some serious weatherproofing in Bolton)! I'm actually not too down on magnolia, I think it works well, although we've got various blues and reds throughout the house.

I loved hockey when I was younger scooby- we were area champions- and I'm always really impressed by people who kept it up. The injuries I used to get though, wow!

Would your DP go to the Doctor's do you think hawthers? Men are a nightmare to drag down there, especially for MH stuff (and it's one of those things that's not sexism but fact, and contributes to higher death rates sadly) but it sounds like he could really do with it. Or at the very least a couple of drinks and a sob on someone's shoulder, but don't know if that's more or less likely?

My DS is a big, big farter rice, and it never ceases to amaze. I don't know how often we've raced to get his nappy off owing to not only the sound, but the actual solid feel of something landing in his nappy, to be greeted by a clean bum.
It makes sharing a bed with him such a nourishing experience...

Msb, do Manchester, do Manchester! I lived in the Science Museum as a kid, and it rocks. And there's so much to do round there in general. And a fire pit is soooo cool.

A big thank-you to people on here- we have bought the Manhattan Skwish for DS, so can't wait!

On today's fun update, we woke at 5.30- DS went back, but I was kept up by the massive blocked duct at the top of lefty, a madly itchy ear, and the sudden knowledge I'd forgotten to take my pill yesterday....
...but it's not like we'll be DTD owing to the thrush!

< wanders off, laughing manically, turns on Homes under the Hammer >

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 21/03/2012 10:14

Air If you come this way for Peppa Pig world - I could meet you there with my girls for a day out as I only live about half hr away.

I'm hoping we are going abroad with the girls for one week but I need to sort Sky's passport & get the surname on Darcie's passport changed - a good £110 to do (bloody legal robbery I tell ya).

Oi Loving the new pad.

aethelfleda · 21/03/2012 10:23

Wow air, my LO is living in handmedowns! Plus the occasional splurge: today he's in a tie-dye special WAHM sleepsuit from ebay. Mind you, I confess I still have rather a cloth nappy habit.. Itti Bitti Tuttos are turning out to be my equivalent of designer clothing splashout, but you have to admit they are rather funky see hereand make a colourful break from our usual (DS is now big enough I've moved over to our usual motherease onesize staydry nappies which I love, though they are a bit boring they do the job so well!)

Figgygal · 21/03/2012 10:27

Morning all not had a good catch up yet got as far down as the link to oi's house (to read from where i left off last night) then had a look in awe .....loving the terraces and garden very Envy.

Lo went 8.30-6.15 this morning im finding as long as he sleeps until after 6 i can function perfectly well and just start the day. The shame is that once he's had breakfast after about an hour he's ready for another short sleep but then i get chance to get things done. We've done the dishes, washed, sterilised and made bottles, got bed stripped and in wash then showered/bathed and clothed lo and self by 9 am.

Ive made a decision to get on with watching all the films in dvd collection i haven't watched for ages. I never seem to have the tv on in the day so i can avoid daytime tv and am sick of watching repeats of scrubs, big bang, simpsons in the evenings but am also bored of staring into space while lo is asleep. Yesterday i watched almost famous, today its the matrix and tomorrow its the notebook. Taking lo to slimbridge wildlife and wetlands again this afternoon as theres some unusual migrant goose there dh wants to go see (????Confused???) so will get my walk in some different more interesting surroundings. Have found since ive been walking everyday with the improved weather and banned bread ive lost 3lbs in the last week which is fab motivation.

Right off to catch up on rest of the thread while lo is passed out on top of me had said i would start putting him back in his bed when he did this but have pins and needles in right foot so going to stay put i think

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 21/03/2012 11:03

Who's watching the Budget today then?

Figgy I sat and watched 10 episodes of Alcatraz on sunday :) one straight after the other hehe.

I've just had egg on toast for a late brekkie....want to eat chocolate now - not good as I don't normally like chocolate!

KateM77 · 21/03/2012 11:46

Oi The house looks great, really spacious. It's nice to have somewhere that you don't have to do anything to when you move in, but where you'll still be able to put your own stamp on it over time.

We're heading up to the North-West tomorrow for a few days. I've just written a list of what I need to pack, which is ridiculously long. I'm only glad I'm BFing DS so that I don't need to take bottles, formula and steriliser too.

BTW Oi Can I just confirm that the meet up and the Trafford Centre isn't going ahead? I've assumed not since so many others were busy, but don't like to think of you waiting for me on Fri and me not turning up!

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 21/03/2012 12:05

Ladies. I need some help:

What can I buy DP as a wedding present?!

MissRee · 21/03/2012 12:22

Figgy well done on the weight loss Grin

On the telly front, I don't watch during the day but in the evening we catch up on recorded stuff. So happy this week with the return of kitchen nightmares USA and of course the apprentice starting tonight!!

NorthernChinchilla · 21/03/2012 12:31

Yay- my little hoover has unplugged me!

It felt grim, and I'm still feeling a little icky (I'm such a weiner) but it's so much better.

Just watching DS watch music videos on TV- he's fascinated by, and smiling madly at, this one. Not sure if it's because it's a head shot (it's Gotye ft. someone..., never heard of 'im) and he's really emoting so DS is smiling back?!

aethelfleda · 21/03/2012 12:35

Aaargh. I had a great plan to make a start on some DIY materials as will be painting bits of house in the next few months to pretty it up a bit (in magnolia mostly!!) prior to the attempt to move.
So I took DP to our local Aldi, and behold! Lots of cool funky DIY things i needed, like a compact sander (our radiators are shocking) and cotton paint drapes for £7 each... So I spent £45 on various including two pots of cream paint for the wood under our front overhang. When I got home i opened the boot carefully....can you see where this is headed...?

So now I have one pot of paint, and an attractive cream-painted kerb edge. Arse!!!!

Morning ladies - love the house oi - you get a lot more for your money up north don't you. that would be 100 k more here I reckon.

DSM How about a new watch , perhaps engraved with your names or wedding date.

Lovely day here an ds feeling better and hence behaving better. freya's cough is worse so not feeding so well but still happy and still slept 12 hours last night. Sorry - I dont mean to brag, it is just I am shocked by it a ds spent months getting to this stage - well 18 months if I am honest! May well not last. However, I kept having to go in to check she was alright as she was coughing so much, so actually still have not had a full night's sleep.

would like to think I could go back to hockey in september but with all the pelvic floor squeezes in the world I am not sure. I looked at that neurotrac kate but it scared me a bit to be honest!

jigglebum · 21/03/2012 12:52

x-posted aethel - how annoying for you. We have painted everyroom in our house over the last year, with just the dining room left. we avoided magnolia but do have quite a bit of cream type colours!

MissRee · 21/03/2012 12:53

All this decorating talk is making me feel incredibly guilty... I could be making a start on the bathroom (ripping tiles off etc) but ive never done a proper DIY project so I'm relying on DP to do it. Doesn't seem fair considering he's at work all day though Blush

Spoke to our new freeholder yesterday who is also the new owner of the downstairs flat. It's been empty since before we moved in (nov '10) and is in dire need of ripping apart so it looks like we will have builders in making noise all day soon. How will I get Freya down for naps with all that noise?? Sad

Still, let's hope it means our heating bill goes down with someone living downstairs next winter Grin

mopsytop · 21/03/2012 12:57

I'm confused at all the running/pelvic floor comments. What happens if you run? I have only run short bursts (not been for a jog or anything) but just over to the loos in the park while a friend kept an eye on minimopsy or whatever and it feels normal. But I'm sure my pelvic floor isn't back to normal...

Mmmmcheese · 21/03/2012 13:02

We have a small Victorian semi and it was a wreck when we bought it, really dingy. We used light reflective paints from Dulux and it has made such a difference. Halls, landing and two upstairs bedrooms in a pale lemony yellow and living /dining room in white with a hint of pink. Sounds strange but you can't actually tell there's any pink in it but it iis a very warm white.

Just avoid any mustard yellow paint!

kate we're away self-catering next week and my list so far is HUGE! Also v glad don't have to take bottles and things.
